Review: Random Factor's 'On The Air' EP is a hugely sought-after classic by those who know. It came on Ralph Lawson's ever-reliable 20/20 Vision and now, as it turns 25 years old, he has decided it is the right time to get it remastered and reissued. 'On The Air' is first up on this fine EP from Carl Finlow and it has serene synths that bring to mind Detroit techno soul over pulsing bass and slick drums. 'Lockdown' has a raw vocoder vocal over punchy drums and twitchy synth stabs and 'Undercurrent' is another weapon that has more than withstood the test of time as it bumps along on funky drums and is overlaid with more playful synth patterns. 'Disconnect' is a crunchy and 8-bit closer with pixelated synths and screwy acid lines. Superb.

Review: Fred P continues to be a prolific driving force in deep house, with his own Private Society label carrying a huge amount of his work these days. On this latest single he maintains one of his other close working relationships with Parisian institution Synchrophone, delivering three cuts of his refined, endlessly immersive music. 'Dance Of Rhythms' is a driving, sharply defined cut with a lot of action occurring in the lower register while the higher frequencies have acres of space to stretch out in, all the better to keep your head mellow while the hips sway. 'The Beauty In The Sound' is a more pattering affair and 'Vibe Science' favours a nagging drum pattern which nods towards jazz funk as much as techno. This is quintessential Fred P mastery, through and through.

Review: Take a trip back into a classic from the Echospace archives as we get treated to a remastered edition of CV313's 'Sailingstars'. The original mix of the track is a perfect dub techno workout from Rod Modell and Stephen Hitchell, roundly defined by the shimmer and shift of the chords, crackling with electricity and strapped to a meditative pulse. The Intrusion versions take things much further out, with the 'Twilight Dub' of 'Subtraktive' heading right to the fringes as the slither of a beat buffets along the faintest wisps of texture and tone. The 'Reform' of 'Sailingstars' is a little more forthright, subtly dubbing out the original structure with all the refinement you expect from these dub techno totems.

Review: In keeping with other reissues from the Echospace archives, CV313 have revisited and remastered their 2010 classic 'Infinit-1'. The single leads with some quintessential immersion from Rod Modell and Stephen Hitchell, all metallic chord pulses billowing through steely ambience guided by deep-ploughing rhythms. The 'Remodel' takes a more subliminal approach as the chord becomes a low frequency sonic just below the surface. The B-side is given over to STL, whose singular approach to stripped and sublime dub techno is never better than on this beautifully hazy early morning twist on 'Infinit-1'.

Review: Baby Ford's Trelik label is as revered as they come in underground circles. Ion Ludwig is not far behind when it comes to his productions and so the two are a perfect match who reunite once more here. This fresh 12" kicks off with the brain cleansing minimalism of 'A Beladen Date 4 Ever', a silky groove doused in harmonic chords, with swirling pads and rubbery bass all tightly intertwining. 'Transport Fighter' is a more punchy cut with thudding kicks and heftier bass, but still a nebulous eco-system of pads and melodies swirling around up top. Two killer cuts. no doubt.

Review: A genuinely magical meeting of musical minds, here, as Erol Alkan delivers his interpretations of Chemical Brothers' 'Goodbye', a bleep-speckled slab of soul-seeped electro-breaks first featured on the long-serving duo's 2023 album For That beautiful Feeling. Available in vocal and instrumental mixes, Alkan's revision replaces the pair's electro breaks with a new wave synth-pop-meets-analogue techno groove. Bubbly and melancholic - even more so than the Chems' original version - Alkan's takes also throw in additional lo-fi synth lines, counter melodies and raw, electroclash influenced sounds. It's tasteful and surprisingly poignant whilst still having all the ingredients of a fully fledged peak-time workout.

Review: It's no wonder Dopplereffekt named their latest EP 'Inifinite Tetraspace'. For starters, a tetrahedron is a 3D triangular pyramid of equal lengths per side. A sine wave, meanwhile, is in auditory form considered the purest, most basic sound - it is also the graph produced by plotting all the ratio points between two sides of a triangle. The logical conclusion is this: infinite tetraspace might be considered the ultimate form of repetitive sound, carrying on forever, triangulating constantly in all directions, never ceasing. For all its vivid imaginings, Dopplereffekt's dualistic, stereo-effected sound carries on in full force on their latest EP for Curtis Electronix, tetra-scribing four icy, unsettling entities that may only be encountered in this special extra-conscious zone.

Review: In the wake of The Knife, Olof Dreijer has been plenty busy behind the scenes and scattering hints of his incredible production for those paying attention. Now it feels like he's building to a wider profile breakthrough as he lands a knockout blow with this release on Hessle Audio. It's a maverick release, which is its pass into the curious sound world shaped out by Ben UFO, Pearson Sound and Pangaea, but equally it brings something new to the label. The joyous, colourful melodic daubs across the EP alone are something to make a dance collectively look up in wonder, with 'Camelia' being an especially beautiful, uplifting track to bring hope and positivity when so much club music tips towards the darkness.

Review: Unmatched textural-ambient vibesetters Mood Hut flaunt their aptitude for the style once again, this time presenting the latest five-track EP from Sydney's current-favourite musical HSP, Cousin. The origin story for HomeSoon, a dearth of synaptic reflections and blissful fuzzouts, goes something like this: on his way back from the New Year's rave, Cousin would perambulate all bleary-eyed, finding himself in the midst of a dense Angophora thicket. And there is no one finer for that honour than Fantastic Man, a legend in the game with a fantastically fresh sound no matter what style he turns his hand to. Review: Deetron's been turning out serene house and techno for many a year but he changes tact here and presents Soulmate on Ilian Tape. It's an EP with a wide array of influences and kicks off with 'Path' which is bright, melodic, electric house music with cow bells galore. 'Zoom' is tightly coiled, loopy, dusty, turbocharged tackle with a warming intensity and then 'Screen' pairs more balmy and blissed-out chords with hurried beats and layers of FX and percussion. Last of all is the best of the lot - 'Blade'. It's a tribal, percussive cut that cannot fail to sweep you off your feet.

'Ringer' opens up with some dark and nimble baselines darting about beneath a dense layer of percussion and FX. 'Hoppa' is then a more precise and minimalist cut with wonky bass snaking down low beneath the icy hi-hats and jumbled toms. Review: Steve O'Sullivan's Mosaic label is back with a second volume of its dubs series, this time on nice yellow vinyl with Sub Basics and Fletcher given one side each to shine. Sub Basics goes first with 'Mediterranean', a lovely liquid dub with bottomless depths and perfectly smooth, frictionless drums. Lovely soft melodies drift in and out as the echoing hits and icy hi-hats help oil this most heady of grooves. On the flip, Fletcher offers up 'Sludge' which is a little more tense and menacing, with darker bass and more texture as well as distant groaning pads that keep you guessing and on edge.

Review: Elias Landberg continues to press ahead with the instantly identifiable Skudge sound, where the best of contemporary techno locks in for tight but funky grooves of the highest calibre. It's not often we see the project break away from the self-titled label, but here it's gracing Syncrophone with some of the finest uptempo, deep-diving gear you'll hear all year. 'Wander' has a snappy strut to the beat and lead riff alike, with the drums coming on like uptempo house as much as techno. 'Hidden Location' locks in harder thanks to the enduring creep of the background pads, while 'The Wind' takes on the dubbiest duties as it stretches out across the B-side.

Review: First released back in 2007, UR's 'Hi Tech Dreams' is widely regarded as one of 'Mad' Mike Banks' most perfectly formed EPs - in part because its blend of optimistic techno futurism with dancefloor darkness offers a neat summary of the 'dreaming of utopia, living in a dystopia' message at the heart of Underground Resistance's militant ethos. But analysis aside, it's simply a terrific record - as this timely reissue proves. A-side 'Hi Tech Dreams' lives up to its promise, with far-sighted melodies, tactile riffs and soulful vocal samples rising above a loose-limbed Motor City techno beat. In contrast, 'Lo Tech Reality' is a moodier and more melancholic chunk of breakbeat-driven techno, while 'Hold My Own' is a murky, hip-hop influenced downtempo head-nodder.

Review: Data Sync is a sub-label of Non Stop Rhythm and now label head Tom Carruthers is back on it with more of his fierce techno explorations. 'Intel' opens proceedings with some taught synth twangs and stomping drum work that will bring physicality to the floor. 'Force Field' is a similarly stomping sound with bright bells looping up top and 'Syntax' is a raw percussive frother with acid run right through it. 'GS5' (re-edit) is another one with some fresh synth sounds bringing light to the physical low ends and 'Metropolis' gets snappy and jacked up while 'Recon' closes down with some tribal energy and bleeping 90s references.

Review: Byron The Aquarius (Byron Blaylock), from Birmingham, Alabama, debuts his latest EP for French Synchrophone sublabel Phonogramme, 'Dey Know Vol. 1'. Topping up an already hugely impressive backlog of releases on the label recently - from the likes of Abacus, Steeve O'Sullivan and Vitess - the producer and water carrier adds to their catalogue for a varied scrubdown of the more militant ends of techno's sonic politic. An impressove sense of variation is achieved on the expositionally minimal 'Black Is Black', which contrasts greatly to the ensuing space-quagmires of 'Dr Devil' and then the crude, bleepy and frank analog sonics of 'Real MF From The Avenue'. Dreamy narrations of local life abound, precluding the closing 'Rock That 808!!!', a track that is far more sophisticated and well-developed in sound than its wilfully blase title might suggest.

Review: Adam Beyer seems to be in a superb run of late and this is his second vinyl outing in as many months. Desert Queen is pure Beyer, and pure Drumocde - drum-led techno for the main room with sweeping synths and grand vocals that are designed to impact crowds of thousands. The A-side actually brings a touch of trance energy and hard techno funk with its slamming, flat-footed drums, coarse synths and brightly lit arrangements. 'Soulful' then flips the script with a more funky groove that rocks back and forth and has funky basslines and a pitched up r&b vocal that works strangely well in the unusual context.

Review: Phonica Records toasts 20 years in style with this three-disc exploration of the house and techno they're best known for. It's no surprise they were able to pull in a heavyweight cast of characters for this collection, but they've made sure to leave enough room for the stars of tomorrow, too. Familiar names include Daniel Bell, Shy One, Willow, Peggy Gou, Midland, Will Saul and Ron Basejam, but there's also surprise inclusions like Tim Reaper and Comfort Zone teaming up for a signature jungle excursion. This is a heavyweight reflection of everything Phonica has represented for the past two decades, but equally a sign towards where they're heading in the future and it couldn't sound rosier.

Review: Jeff Mills continues to gift us some utterly astounding house-tempered work from the Millsart project on this latest 12". Neo Tantric Parts draws from the deep well of Millsart archives, with 'Tear Drop Nebula' especially benefitting from a new mix as it shuffles percussion and vibraphone chimes around microtonal cascades which give the music a particularly giddy quality. 'The Phonetic World' has a punchy presence without losing that lighter style Mills adopts under this alias, while 'Neptunian Landing' heads into spookier territory with some faithful 909 hats for guidance. Watch out for 'Unidentified' though, a truly tweaked-out slice of space lounge gear for watching the walls of you mind melt after one too many solar flares.

Review: For big-room techno, there are few finer labels out there right now - or ever - than Adam Beyer's monstrous Drumcode. The boss himself dropped a huge EP not so long ago and now turns to Space 92 for the latest aural assault. The artist serves up just two tracks but both are hugely weaponised affairs, starting with 'Time.' It is lacerated by gurgling synth lines that fire across its face like lasers, while the rolling beats and edgy stabs all build the tension. On the flip is 'Voyager' which is an acid-laced pumper with non-stop drum funk and flat-footed kicks to make huge club rooms march as one.

Review: Cyphon Recordings' slim but rapidly expanding catalogue is full of quality cuts from both rising stars and established artists. Their latest EP - another must-check release - comes from someone who comfortably sits in the second camp: long-serving British techno, ambient and IDM futurist Kirk Degiorgio. As usual, Degiorgio has delivered some effortlessly melodious, emotive and immersive fare. For proof, check 'All About You', where sparkling synth-pop melodies, layered electronics and dreamy pads rise above a groove inspired by Motor City futurism and Latin rhythms. That Latin influence comes to the fore on the gorgeous, percussive and picturesque techno bliss of 'Cidad Do Futuro', while 'Frayed Edge' is a deep and melody-rich slab of electro excellence.

Review: Midland has been smart about his arc as a producer, taking his time rather than churning out releases for the sake of it. As such, when we do get something new from the lad, it always feels like an occasion, and of course the music invariably matches the mood. 'You Never Take Me Dancing' is in fact the B-side opener on this new four-track record, but it plays out like the lead role on an EP bursting with fresh ideas. 'Strangers On The Train' toys with more experimental synthesis and a stripped back mix down that takes its cues from footwork, while 'Drift Into The Algorithm' plays out as the slinkier, shimmering house he's perhaps been better known for of late. The class and consideration just spills out of this record - more than worth waiting for.

Review: Groovin Italy landed a monumental reissue for the label with C'hantal's 'The Realm'. Originally released way back in 1990 on the dance and early Brooklyn based Powertraxx records. Staying true to the original release, it offers the 'Love In D Minor' mix but does one better in tucking in the Acapella version to the A-side so the B-side 2 versions have a little more room to breathe. The added bonus has to be putting on the more rare "Wild Club mix' to the party along with the original 'Rave Mix'. All and all, a very packed reissue of some of the best versions of the track, all on one record. This might just hold the number one spot for best techno reissue so far of 2024.

'Unleash The Sound' opens up and doesn't mess about as it first lasers from a machine gun and old school jungle breaks smash away below. Review: Jerome Hill is having a fine year - back in February he turned out his superb Flow Mechanics album on Hypercolour and now he is back on Super Rhythm Trax with a fire four-track electro and house outing. The opener 'The Warning' is a prickly one with acidic lines and raw, chattering claps making for a menacing vibe. 'Harlesden Shuffle' (extended 12" Disco mix) is then a wonky disco-tinged minimal cut with Wagon Repair-style synth leads and plenty of acid stabs. There is plenty of bite to the jacked-up B-side cut 'Combustion Zone' then 'House Thing' rounds out with early Chicago vibes, dusty drums and naughty basslines.

Review: Innershades has always dealt in lo-fi, misty sounds that are steeped in beauty and melancholy and offer plenty of subtle homages to Detroit. Here he cooks up more electro magic on the Explorer EP, which is again minimalistic in design but maximal in terms of dancefloor impact. His melodies really convey true emotional pain and the drums bring sleek electro energy and brilliance. 'Unknown Depths' is a serene one to open with, 'Explorer' brings some acid modulations and extra percussive snap and 'Aquaculture' is the most liquid and dubby cut here. 'Super 6' has a sense of hope for the future in its brighter, more optimistic melodies. Exceptional stuff.

Review: Mosaic main man and peerless UK dub techno titan Steve O'Sullivan has paired off against Fletcher for this latest heavyweight 12". As ever the foundations are solid on the opener 'Passenger' - smooth drums and bass perfectly sit with one another, but this one really comes alive with the most impossibly subtle but inescapably uplifting little chords that suggest that no matter what shit you have going on in your life, things will be OK. It's a classic amongst many on this label. 'With That' is another tight, compelling and tech tinged dub roller with real bite and drive, and 'Treading Water' then blisses you out with its liquid chords and sense of endless infinite groove.

Review: A part-posthumous reunion of a longstanding collaboration between two titans of German ambient, Move D and the late Pete Namlook hear three of their most enduring classics reissued via Away Music. Drawing on slightly different traditions - D hailing from sophisti-minimal and Namlook a denizen of the more beatless, heavenly ambient and trance flaunted on his FAX label - the pair almost always produced an unmistakable style together, mired in many-a hazy, padded cloud and modular texture. These hallmarks are on full display here with 'Hardwired Tangent' on particular - what sounds to be an early alt-version of their beautiful compilation cut 'Wear Your Love Out' - while the blissful B-sider 'Hardwired Hypotenuse + Asymptote' stands out as a more mathematical ponderance of ungrounded space.

Review: Neapolitan duo Fireground have been on a rapid ascent since debuting on Tresor in 2021, and following their Recreation 12" earlier this year they return to Ilian Tape for a second round of immersive, high-pressure techno soul. Compared to a lot of the dark and dystopian sounds infiltrating the faster reaches of the modern techno scene, Fireground have a strong sense of uplift which comes through in abundance on the likes of 'Memories', as harmonious, dubbed-out pads and thunderous drums collide for maximum positive response. Review: Perko's FELT label continues to be a hotbed of outer-limits techno abstraction, but there's also a particular focus to the sound of the label which is emerging with each release. Following past drops from Civilistjavel!, Sons Of Slough and Iya Shillelagh, we're now confronted with the pin-prick precision of Carrier. There's a subtle dub presence to the background atmospherics on this record, but it is primarily about pointillist rhythms with a grainy, brutally chiseled sonic quality. Steely and explorative but not sterile by any stretch, this is systems music which should appeal to fans of Autechre and snd as well as the legacy of Chain Reaction et al.

Review: Remastered and reissued with new a new album cover via the Clone West Coast Series, Adult's 'New Phonies' EP first appeared in 2000 as the duo moniker of Nicola Kuperus and Adam Lee Miller, two legit electro stalwarts. This is a proper snappy electro EP - of the least sympathetic and most coldly calculating kind - evoking the fright of becoming trapped inside an inescapable subliminal-sonic cybernetic feedback loop, with all human faculties thrown to the wayside. 'Hand To Phone', for example, locks us into a communicative-cybernetic stasis, with spitty acid 16ths betraying the mood of becoming affective chasers of electromagnetic signals, unwittingly carrying out the bidding of our new techno-evangelist overlords. The A-sider 'New Object', meanwhile, with its sizzling 808s, transitional fluctuations and hip-hop vocal refrain - "I need you to accommodate my comunication needs" - touches on several layers of objectification at once: sexual, commodification, loss of the ability to speak. Adult truly dealt with adult themes and embraced their recapture into the machine - now you too can own their New Object.

Review: REKAB has been making strong moves in the world of techno with his classic inspired but futuristic blend of melodic techno. The My Future & My Past EP showcases that. 'Soulful Season' opens the album with a magical and traditional Detroit techno sound, featuring playful melodies and ambient touches. Key piano notes impact the tune, setting the tone for the rest of the album. The title track, 'My Future & My Past,' is a robotic funk and techno fusion with a touch of electro. The beautiful melody adds a touch of soul to the track. Side 2 opens with 'Raw Note,' featuring an addictive groove and memorable keys. 'Bad Nights Better Nights' closes the album with a deeper groove, combining UK ambient techno and IDM influences. Review: 2023 marks the tenth anniversary of Darren Woollard's debut release as DAWL. Since then, he's carved out his own niche as a maker of blisteringly good, retro-futurist blends of breakbeat hardcore, bleep, acid and electro. This trademark sound comes to the fore on opener 'Hear This', where alien bleeps, soundman samples and rushing riffs ride sweat-soaked breakbeat, before coming into sharper focus on the warped, analogue-rich, LFO-influenced bleep shuffle of 'Dark Chemistry'. Woollard adds a touch of funk to proceedings on energetic bleep and breaks workout 'Mindtrix', before once more reaching for dial-tone melodies, deep and dubby bass and clattering machine drums on killer closing cut 'I Control The Energy'.

Review: Modal Analysis affiliates Pi Electronics welcome back Justin Broadrick in his JK Flesh guise for some industrial-focused techno abstraction outside the usual formulaic confines of the genre. The opening track has some guttural mono synth pulses guiding the deathly drum beat, but it's instantly noticeable how slow and sinister these rhythms are. The second track follows suit, as Broadrick's long-proven penchant for textural noise manifests around the squashed clamour of the kick. 'Track 3' is even more formidable as a low-tempo tool for nihilistic dance parties, but then Ancient Methods is on hand to flip the script with a slide back up the pitch range and a different approach to noise-led techno.

Review: Kimochi Sound welcomes back regular artist Shielding for another standout entry into the label's catalogue, this time on wax with a lovely hand-sprayed sleeve. It's a deep exploration of supple rhythm here with 'Ceiling Licker' mix up diffuse ambient arps and organic sounds from the great outdoors with a bubbling bassline. 'Hundred' is a trippy late night cut with a ghostly atmosphere and muted bells and chords drifting into earshot from way off in the distance. 'Kvadrat' is a late-night collaboration with Maeteriet from Sewer Sender Records that overlays a rubbery minimal rhythm with deft synth details and curious hooks to make for dark but ultimately charming listening.

Review: Phillipi's second solo EP 'Terra Gira' lands on Deewee and is another full-throttle club excursion. 'Hacido' kicks off with pulsating techno drums and layers of shiny synth that are topped off with rubbery acid loops. 'Tensao' then sinks into a deeper groove with hints of synthwave and dark disco under a deadpan vocal. It's a strobe-lit slow burner that will cause real carnage. 'Todo Dia' closes out a fresh EP with more twisted metal, bendy electronics and rubbery bass lines topped off with a menacing vocal. A left-of-centre way to jack your crowd for sure.

Review: As is hinted at by the fact the label is called Echo, there is plenty of bottomless dub brilliance to this new record from SND & RTN. It pairs the best of the original and old school sound with some fresh new ideas. 'Feedback In Dub' opens up with rattling chords hanging in a vast open chamber next to muted, seductive trumpets. 'Istari' ups the pace and hints that a gear change might be just around the corner, and 'The Orb' then slips into silky and ice cold minimal dub territory. 'Hear A Man' dare to bring a little light and optimism but this remains an EP that is only for the heads.

Review: It is a testament to Adam Beyer's enduring love for techno that he continues to serve up choice cuts from his long-running and influential Drumcode label on vinyl. He looks to the talents of Victor Ruiz and Modea for this new two-track 12". Firstly the pair hook up for 'Bloom', a cavernous techno sound that sweeps dancefloors off its feet and floats them amongst subtly uplifting chords while the drums toll on. There are epic melodic overtones to the flip side track 'Contrast,' too. This one will get heads held high, hands in the air and crowds fully taken in with its celebratory atmosphere - until the monstrous drums and acid arrive, that is.

Review: Away Music's series of Reissued 12"s are a valuable portal into the oceans of music recorded by David Moufang and Pete Namlook through their many years of collaboration. With so much material tucked away on hard to find CDs, it's incredibly helpful having someone sift through and pick out some of the best moments and press them onto a 12". There's a lot to enjoy on this three-tracker, moving from the warm and bubbly house of 'Der Strahlende Verlierer' which bears the hallmarks of classic Move D through to the scuffed, richly detailed electronica of 'Hardwired Tangent' and the dub techno extension of the track, 'Hardwired Hypotenuse + Asymptote'.

Review: Stay Up Forever has got some high-octane hard techno on its hands here that finds techno titans Chris Liberator and D.A.V.E. The Drummer aka Dynamo City having their 2006 classic 'One Night In Hackney' getting a new set of remixes following a first package back in September. Perc brings his coarse textures to the first rework while there is edgy saw-tooth bass and plenty of distortion to the Ayako Mori remix. The Regal remix is all about racing straight ahead and into the rave and then last of all the Miss Djax remix is all-out the slamming, flat-footed drums and stormy synth frenzies.

Review: When you look back at the first PlayStation several landmark releases spring to mind - Resident Evil, Tekken 2, Crash Bandicoot - the list could go on much longer and should definitely include Wipeout and Wipeout 2097. Both were renowned for combining high pace, futuristic visuals with contemporary electronic club music from some of the biggest producers and acts at the time. Less remembered, in Europe at least, is the Ape Escape series, an intense party-platform title which arguably has the greatest dance music game score of all time. Comprising six tracks from that saga, this compilation of Soichi Terada's soundtracks emphasises that bold point. Opening on the crisp, punchy techno drive of 'Specters Factory', we find ourselves in suitably spooky jungle ('Haunted House'), rumbling dnb ('Spectors Castle') and roughneck hardcore bass ('Coasters'), among other made up genres. A collection which resembles Terada's amazing 1996 album, Sumo Jungle and makes a case for the Japanese enigma as one of dance music's most underrated geniuses.

Review: Rocket Science is the latest EP by the standout Netherlands techno producer Eversines. It is also the first release by the new label Jamming Is Life. This record is all about the late-night sounds. The techno is richly infused with a bit of Goa and psy-trance that adds to the mythical and tribal sound like in the example, 'Act'. Each track here prides itself on constantly evolving the sounds in motion with an upwards trajectory or energy. These are properly sequenced tracks that go somewhere and not just placed sounds on a computer. Which in turn, makes them great for the dancefloor. Unlike older Psy-trance, these tempos are right in the sweet spot for house and techno lovers alike. 'M' is one of our early favorites on this clutch piece of hedonism while the acid line in 'Jamming Is Life' is pure flashback inducing business. The Jamming is Life label is starting out strong with this one.

Review: Man of many aliases Ron Wells is undoubtedly an under-appreciated British dance music hero - a producer who delivered a string of innovative jungle-techno releases in the early 90s and has been serving up killer cuts in a variety of styles ever since. Here he dons the Jack Smooth alias (a moniker he debuted way back in 1991) for a collaborative four-tracker alongside fellow storied veteran Anthony Wilson AKA Chicago Loop. They begin in sensational fashion via the bleep-sporting analogue acid house of 'Waverider', before opting for warehouse-ready early UK techno sounds on the gnarled and nasty 'Innervision'. 'Blunderbuss' adds warped hardcore rave sounds to a sweat-soaked jackin' house beat, while 'Under The Influence' sounds like a long lost, loved-up tech-house blueprint from 1994. Stellar stuff all told.
