Notes: Clk is a voltage controlled clock generator with all the features a master clock needs. It has an extremely wide range from ten seconds between pulses well into audio rate. In addition, the pause button and CV input provide an expressive feature that is all too often missing in a modular setup. Stop using LFOs or other modulation sources for your master clock, and let Clk do what it's best at.

Notes: EG is a full featured two-stage envelope generator. In addition to a colossal range from 3ms to 11 minutes per stage, EG features the ability to switch between linear and exponential curves on the fly, a built-in attenuator, and CV over attack and decay. Review: In a recent online poll hosted by acid evangelist Posthuman, Adonis's "No Way Back" was voted the greatest acid house track of all time. It's hard to argue - though we'd have opted for Phuture's pioneering "Acid Trax" - as the Chicago classic sounds every bit as fresh, futuristic and otherworldly now as it did when it was first released in 1986. This tasty red vinyl reissue from TRAX pairs the much-loved vocal version - in which the late, great Gary B talks about losing control over fiendishly sweaty, ultra-jacking drums and one of the sleaziest, most addictive acid basslines of all time - with the lesser-celebrated, but equally heavy, instrumental mix. If you don't already own a copy, don't sleep.

Review: Curiously, Albin Johannson seems to only deal in albums. Somewhat remarkably, he's only released one single since making his debut in 2013, but a trio of albums. "Passage", his fourth album, is an ear-catching and alluring affair, with the Swedish producer offering up colourful, crystal clear tracks seemingly crafted using a range of vintage analogue synthesizers, drum machines and modular gear. Many may hear echoes of Vangelis' early work, while others may define it as synth-wave or ultra-melodic electronica. However you frame it, the seven tracks on "Passage" are memorable, melodic and well worth further investigation.

Review: Considered by many to be one of the best live albums of all time, 'At Fillmore East' the classic album by the Allman Brothers, recorded at the
pinnacle of their success, was a huge hit for the band. In 1971 the Allman Brothers were already one of the most popular groups in America,
but by the time this album hit the streets their brand of Southern rock had become a national obsession. One of Rolling Stones' '500 greatest
albums of all time', it was the band's last with guitar hero Duane Allman who was killed in a motorcycle accident later that year.

Review: Turin techno stalwart Andrea has been serving up slabs of goodness on Ilian Tape since way back in 2012, though "Ritorno" is remarkably his very first full-length excursion. The 12 track set is far more varied than his fine club-focused singles, with the Italian variously turning his hand to swelling, Global Communication style ambient techno ("Attimo"), ultra-deep breakbeat dreaminess ("SKLYN"), melodious, jungle-influenced IDM ("LS September"), bassbin rattlers ("TrackQY", the skittish brilliance of moody roller "Reinf"), dreamy soundscape techno ("LG_Amb"), angular fusions of bass music and dark Italo-techno ("Drumzzy") and picturesque ambient dub slow jams ("Twin Forests").

Review: Those who've heard Astral Travel's previous releases - and there sadly haven't been all that many - will attest that their take on spiritual jazz is far from "standard". While it has freewheeling, improvised jazz at its core, it is so much more than that, as this fabulous new album proves. Alongside standard jazz instrumentation (think drums, double bass, piano, flute, saxophone and so on), the former Jazz:refreshed outfit also makes extensive use of glitchy electronics and skewed samples. The results are undeniably cosmic and otherworldly, with frequent glimpses of the kind of aural chaos more associated with free-jazz and experimental electronica.

Notes: When a specific frequency, or range of frequencies, reaches too high a level, feedback occurs - that all too familiar squeal or howl you get when the mic is too close to the speaker. Basically, feedback happens when there is so much of a particular frequency that it is picked up by the mic and run through the system again. That's why feedback typically gets louder and louder the longer it's allowed to occur. Needless to say, this kind of feedback is very undesirable.

This is where the FBQ800's feedback detection system really works its magic. In this ingenious circuitry, LEDs on the individual faders light up when that frequency band is approaching the danger zone. All you need to do is lower the illuminated slider until the LED blinks out - and there you have it, feedback problem solved!
