Solitude Of Heart
Do It To The Music (2012 club mix Remaster)
Do It To The Music (Fred Falke X Zen Freeman remix)
Review: 'Technopera' is the debut EP by Ampersounds (Fred Falke and Zen Freeman), featuring Rufus Wainwright. It's a bold claim for a debut electro-house EP to feature vocals by such a renowned artist. But Fred Falke nad Zen Freeman are no rookies either, having won the hearts of many a house and techno reveller in France, Europe and beyond since the 1990s. Ampersounds and the Wainwright collab was made manifest after an intellectual chat the trio shared over some highfalutin poetry; fittingly, Technopera has an air of intellectualism about it, with highlights like 'Solitude Of Heart' portraying a downtrodden mood blended with smart production and nods to '80s tropes.

Review: Fred Again's new LP Ten Days is decidedly minimal in both visual and sonic feel, making for a well-put-together exercise in chic dance summeriness, one that manages to feel, paradoxically, nostalgic for the present moment. If the crux of Fred Again's appeal rests our vicarious enjoyment of his evidently voracious enjoyment of life, then this is equally as reflective in the music here, with 'Adore U' skimming through pitch-warped vocals sampled from Obongjayar's live performance dedicated to his sister and mum, as if to immortalise them in a rush of frenetics and lightness of being, and 'Ten' equally playing up the bare skeletals of snap-rims, warbly samples and ever more pitch-effecting, this time on Jozzy's vocals. Less earnest than his outing with Brian Eno, and more dedicable purely to the young adult gaieties of summer, Ten Days marks a little over a weeks' worth of fun, tinged with a tiny hint of melancholy.

Review: The Beloved's Conscience, originally released in 1993, is set for a long-awaited reissue as a 2xLP, showcasing its timeless influence on the electronic music scene. This edition brings the iconic singles back to life, with Conscience capturing the era's fusion of pop melodies and dancefloor-ready beats. Tracks like 'Sweet Harmony' and 'Outerspace Girl' still shine, offering a nostalgic yet fresh listening experience. Alongside them, deeper cuts such as 'Celebrate Your Life' and '1000 Years From Today' re-emphasise The Beloved's talent for crafting emotive, euphoric anthems. The 2xLP format gives the album the space it deserves, letting each track breathe in full analogue warmth. This reissue isn't just a nod to the past but a celebration of the group's lasting impact on electronic and dance music. Whether it's the buoyant groove of 'Spirit' or the reflective undertones of 'Lose Yourself In Me,' Conscience is as much a piece of dance music history as it is a timeless classic.

Oral (Olof Dreijer remix)
Review: Bjork and Rosalia team up for the limited marble vinyl edition 12" double-sider, 'Oral', now coming packed with a stunning remix by Olof Dreijer from The Knife. The record is described by its releasers OLI as not just a single release but a "call to arms", with 100% of the profits being funnelled directly to AEGIS, the Icelandic charity dedicated to eradicating intensive fish farming in the country. 'Oral' itself is now a staple of the latest incarnation of Bjork's ever-mutant career, consummating her and Rosalia's recent rapport; a sabre-wielding, purblind aesthetic - befitting also of another of Bjork's collaborative contemporaries, Arca - fits seamlessly with the elegiac reggaeton of the song. Dreijer's remix is rabid and wonky by comparison, its draggy, morphemic rhythms belying Bjork and Rosalia's equally wetted vocals, producing a wacky litany of faunal electronics and whizzing FX.

Orboretum: The Orb Collection
Orboretum: The Orb Collection (limited coloured vinyl 4xLP + 4-page booklet in custom-shaped sleeve)
Cat: COOKLP 820.
Review: Dr. Alex Paterson's latest endeavour, Orboretum: The Orb Collection, is a limited-edition retrospective that spans the career of The Orb, charting their decades-long journey across a four-LP set. Beautifully packaged in an octagonal sleeve that unfolds into a massive flower, each disc is pressed in a unique colourigreen, lilac, orange, and blue, reflecting the four seasons that inspired the collection's structure. With tracks carefully selected by Paterson himself, the compilation delves into their storied output, mixing iconic cuts from Abolition of the Royal Familia and Prism with rarities and fresh takes on classics. This set isn't merely a nostalgic trip through The Orb's golden years, though, it's a "director's cut," as Paterson puts it, one that reframes their vast catalogue to reveal new pathways and connections between works that span decades. Discs A and B highlight their collaborations with Universal, while discs C and D turn the spotlight on their independent ventures with labels like Cooking Vinyl, Kompakt, and Liquid Sound Design. With sleeve notes by Kris Needs and each track handpicked by Paterson, Orboretum is a masterclass in electronic evolution, blending roots with recent highlights. For die-hard fans and newcomers alike, the four-LP set is an ode to the timeless, boundary-pushing ethos that has kept The Orb relevant for over 30 years. The collection is also available as a two-CD set with a 24-page booklet, ensuring everyone can find their own slice of ambient heaven.

Review: False Aralia is a new self-titled label from Brian Foote (of Peak Oil, Kranky, etc.) that launches with "a series of recordings growing in all directions" and that draws together the work of artists from North America who are centred around the studio practices of Izaak Schlossman. Zero Key is the first 12" and it opens with a blend of spread synths, dubby undercurrents and microhouse rhythms. Pained vocals drift in and out of focus. There is a hallucinogenic quality to some of the sounds and an aquatic feel to the way the subtle and supple grooves unfold. It is otherworldly music that is rooted in real-world emotion.

It is unconventional to say the least but always inviting with warm, dubby pads, fragments of melody and undulating rhythms all bubbling away in loose, freeform fashion. These late-night sounds tracks are inescapably immersive and cavernous and they cocoon you in sound as if you're back in the womb. It's a magnificent place to get lost and sink in.

A Soft & Gatherable Star
Cat: DYHP 014. Rel: 08 Nov 24
Review: Bristol trio Jabu returns with A Soft And Gatherable Star, their latest album on the Always + Forever label. Known for blending dub and Bristol's sound system culture, Jabu expands their sonic landscape while bringing songwriting to the forefront. Echoes of the city's landmarks and personal memories, like lost parents and youth, inform the album's narrative. Tracks like 'Oceanside Spider House' veer away from trip-hop, instead evoking the ethereal shimmer of The Cure and Cocteau Twins. 'Gently Fade' channels shadowy jazz ballads, while 'Seamills' flows with a slow, aquatic rhythm, enhanced by fuzzy saxophone notes from Lorenzo Prati. Rakhi Singh and Sebastian Gainsborough's fragile strings on 'All Night' create a dreamlike ambiance, and 'If I Asked You, You'd Tell Me' features Josh Horsley's cello, cloaked in texture and restraint. With influences ranging from ambient soundscapes to the delicate beauty of Mica Levi's work, A Soft And Gatherable Star feels organic, allowing songs to evolve naturally. Recorded between Bristol and Childs' mother's home, the album reflects on lost teenage memories and the eerie transformation of familiar spaces. It's a meditative journey, rooted in emotion and subtle, cinematic sound design.

Review: zake's untouchable ambient imprint Past Inside the Present revisits James Bernard's classic 1994 album Atmospherics and has remastered it and paired it with some fresh reinterpretations by bvdub, a longtime friend and collaborator. Since the original release, music and technology have evolved significantly but the timeless craft and rich textures of Bernard's work remain evident. Atmospherics achieved cult status during the ambient music boom after being crafted solely with a keyboard, sequencer, 12-bit sampler, drum machine, and bass guitar, all created in real-time and without edits. Bvdub's reinterpretations honour the originals while adding new dimensions and infusing them with a melancholic air that enhances its emotional depth.

Unusually given his prolific work-rate earlier in his career, the much-admired producer has not released much new music of late; in fact, this mini-album for Fabric offshoot Houndstooth marks his first 100% fresh release for five years. It's predictably impressive, with highlights including the twisted TB-303 trickery, bombastic sub-bass and polyrhythmic post-dubstep UK bass beats of 'Codex', the high-octane modular techno insanity of 'Crawl', the spaced-out and dubbed-out, Autechre-ish IDM weirdness of 'Frekm (Part 1)', and the deconstructed breakbeats, psychoactive electronics and metallic effects of 'Frekm (Part 2)'.

Review: One may easily shorten the Light Sounds Dark label name to LSD. So too does this new V/A compilation of dark industrial soundscapes by the label befit the bad trip. With minimal release info besides an ardent confirmation by an unnamed witness - "definitely a trip into a darker dimension" - the notion of ingesting LSD takes on a whole new meaning here. The otherwise absence of info motivates some detective work: a stained-glass design on the front cover; a title referencing Indo-European paganism and/or Zoroastrianism; intense cloud-sonics and glassy chamber spaces on the ensuing tracks; everything intuitively fits, though we're not quite sure how. Some way to a narrative revelation emerges on track four, though at best it's a speak n' spell numbers station voice, half-lost under the solemn, soily noise scramble beneath. The trip only grows weirder, with strange bird calls melding into gong sounds and pan flutes on the lossy eighth track, and the closing locked groove spelling ultimate doom for the more harmonically inclined.

Review: In 2020, Nicolas Jaar composed Piedras for a concert at the Museum of Memory & Human Rights in Santiago, Chile, which honoured the many victims of Pinochet's dictatorship. The project evolved into Archivos de Radio Piedras, a radio play shared via Telegram between 2022 and 2023. In 2024, it became a 24-channel installation at MUAC in Mexico City. The music, partly attributed to the fictional Salinas Hasbun, explores themes of memory and identity. The play unfolds in a future with an internet blackout, where characters use DIY radio to mourn Hasbun's disappearance, with the unstable radio frequencies symbolising shifting truths. Now served up on vinyl, the album is a blend of ambient, found sounds, experimental rhythms and eerie synth design.

Review: The name mu tate has become synonymous with a certain kind of frissonic ambient dub made extremely popular in recent years, and nurtured by many a contemporary chic-musical outlet such as Experiences Ltd, Utter, and now Warm Winters Ltd. Just as it was with his former two records for the above, 2024's Wanting Less hears mu tate metamorphose across eight more circuit-friers, bringing an implied downshifter yet still electrical energy to the fold. The ampere count is yea high on opener 'your host', an ambisonic fuzzer blurring the sounds of outdoor lightning and indoor tesla coil crackle, and which sounds like the melancholic result of falling asleep after having left your floor model brain-computer interface plugged in by accident. The new record indulges several more "conventional" atmospherics after this, with 'Nocturnal' (with Malvern Brume), 'Spore' and 'Wanting Less' not shying from the relatively amniotic and warm side of things commoner to ambient music at large; though for us, it's the record's textural sizzler moments that really whet the ear. The star cut in this niche, above all, has to be 'one by one these desires are wiped away', a biosynthetic brooder of uncertainly lurching form - for all its comms crackle and top texture, we wouldn't be hard-pressed to hear this one in an Apichatpong Weerasethakul film. Underneath, a guiding, phonetic, motherly burble is heard glitchily whispered.

Italian Library Songbook Vol 2
Moonbrew & Paolo Apollo Negri - "As If It Matters" (feat Tilde)
Piero Umiliani - "Nel Villaggio"
Review: The Italian Library Songbook series is back with its second volume, offering a fresh take on hidden gems from Italy's soundtrack legends. This 7" sees beat-maker Moonbrew and composer Paolo Apollo Negri reimagine Piero Umiliani's 'Nel Villaggio,' originally featured on his 1975 library album Continente Nero. Side A, titled 'As If It Matters,' introduces a new dreamlike track where Tilde's delicate vocals float over a hypnotic marimba sample, blending with synths and a modern beat. Side B revisits the original instrumental, staying true to Umiliani's signature sound. With artwork by Luca Barcellona, this 7" is a beautiful tribute to the timelessness of Italian library music.

Review: Four Flies has unearthed a long-lost gem: Gianfranco Reverberi's daring soundtrack to Rivelazioni, a notorious 1973 film by director Renato Polselli. Reverberi, known for producing legends like Lucio Dalla and Gino Paoli, initially distanced himself from the film's controversial themes by releasing the music under a pseudonym. Yet, Rivelazioni's score, with its driving rhythms and experimental edge, shines as a bold, innovative creation. The soundtrack features an impressive use of electronic instruments, including drum machines and spacey synths, alongside psychedelic flutes, piano and jazzy improvision. 'Psicolimite', originally released under the name Sharon Chatam, has become a coveted rarity, sparking excitement around the full soundtrack's reissue. Recovered from original 1-inch, 16-track tapes, the score has been remastered for both vinyl and digital formats. With a raw, relentless rhythm section and dark, atmospheric vibes, this soundtrack is an essential find for fans of Italian genre cinema and daring experimental music. Available now as a double LP with stunning artwork, Rivelazioni finally gets its well-deserved moment in the spotlight.

Review: NOTON release the much-fussed-over fifth volume of Alva Noto's Xerrox album series, Volume 5. Based on and around the invention of the xerox paper copy, Noto first kicked off the Xerrox series in 2007, aiming to fashion a series of releases themed after the idea of copies of images, both visual and acoustic, being more more memorable than the originals (just as xerox machines created more memorably textured versions of original paper documents). In the words of the artist, the Xerrox series "aimed to create a whole cycle of tracks that frame both the beginning and the end. The motif of the journey continues, but this time, the story reaches a dissolution through a conceptual object that embarks on its own journey into infinity." The fifth volume, released in 2024, here again deploys a series of static and stretched emotive texture-sketches, based on from-scratch recordings and achieved through the process of copying, manipulating and reshaping.

Review: In Outer Wilds, the player commands an elusive character in a quest to explore a solar system stuck in a 22-minute time loop that ends with the sun exploding. Tasked with ending the time loop, the player must navigate the alien wastes and ruins of the Nomai; with iam8bit's latest release of Andrew Prahlow's score, we can now put ourselves in said player character's shoes in finer cinematic detail. Prahlow's prolific score is the kind of hopeful, transcendent soundtrack that instantly readjusts your demeanor to a state of awe, reminding you just how vast the universe is. There's no better way to explore your inner self - proverbially roasting marshmallows alongside banjo strumming - than with this beautiful, poignant masterpiece of an album.

Review: Storied German ambient, microsound and electronica musician Alva Noto (Carsten Nicolai) shares the fifth volume of his intentionally indefinite Xerrox series, Xerrox Vol. 5. First begun in 2007, after envisaging a series of albums released in chronic sequence, the Xerrox series expressly aims to prove that the continued copying and replication of recorded sound will produce an indefinite variation, each copy infinitely more interesting than the last. With every edition of Xerrox using the same album cover, the sonic contents of the Xerrox albums similarly mimic each other's movements, through a process of making minuscule changes that go onto produce cascading, domino-effecting results. The palette is expansive and cinematic as ever, though it is striking to know that these suites were achieved solely through the manipulation of recordings made and subsequently timestretched from scratch.

Review: One of legendary filmmaker John Carpenter's few forays into electro-disco proper, 'Die Klapperschlange' is an instant throwback. Everyone on Earth knows this melody, yet few could point to its origin, and that's likely due to a poor translation from German. 'Die Klapperschlange' ('The Rattlesnake') is the title theme from the 1981 sci-fi film of the same name; the film was renamed Escape From New York for the Anglo market. And yes, you heard us right: John Carpenter himself made this piece of music. A multi-talented man indeed, though he did work with fellow composer and sound designer Alan Howarth to add the finishing touches here. It's as if this track were made for the anarcho-discos of the future, its inherent darkness rendering it seemingly unassailable by the crumbling of society or public breakouts of violence depicted in the film. Plus, there's *that* unmistakable four-bar extension, in which a three-note hook has permanently wedged itself in our minds - wowee. And on this new release via ZYX, we've got two new alt-mixes and an outrun techno remix from Nomoo. Sweet!

Review: Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, known for their remarkable work with Nine Inch Nails and film scores like The Social Network, deliver a techno-charged soundtrack for Luca Guadagnino's tennis-themed love triangle drama Challengers. The score is a pulsating mix of electroclash, synth-pop, and driving techno, expertly weaving traditional instruments with electronic beats. Reznor and Ross take Guadagnino's vision to heart, crafting a soundtrack that not only drives the narrative but also challenges expectations with its bold, rhythmic energy. Tracks like 'Compress/Repress', co-written with Guadagnino and featuring Reznor's vocals, showcase their ability to blend artistic expression with the film's themes of control and power. Overall, this is a excellent soundtrack that works well to support the visual or just listening to it without having seen the movie.

Review: Japanese pop duo Yaosabi share the vinyl edition of their critically acclaimed song 'Idol'. 'Idol' is a combination of Japanese idol-styled pop, hip-hop, rock, and video game music, and depicts the two-faced nature of a fictional star in the Japanese idol industry; the record also serves as the lead theme music for the anime series Oshi No Ko, in turn based on Aka Akasaka's short story 45510, both of which also tracks Japan's cultural interest in the figure of the idol. This is a knowing slice of Japanese bubblegum, nonetheless aware of its murkier underbelly; it also packs a crazed confluence of idiomatic borrowings, from Atlanta hip-hop to orchestral music, and ties them all together with a single bow.

Review: OKRAA's La Gran Corriente represents a significant creative turning point for Colombian-born Juan Carlos Torres Alonso. Released via A Strangely Isolated Place, the album follows a transformative experience Juan had in Bogota in May 2023. It was there that he encountered what he describes as "an infinite current behind or inside of everything," a revelation that completely changed his approach to music. Scrapping earlier demos, Juan embraced a more fluid and organic style, abandoning fixed grids and BPMs, and tapping into the spontaneous energy that characterised his other production alias, Laudrup. The result is a hypnotic journey through time and space, as the album's non-linear structures give way to unexpected yet cohesive sonic moments. 'La Gran Corriente' features "happy accidents" throughout, subtle production quirks that contribute to its distinct sound. Central to the project is a poem written by Juan, weaving reflections on time and reality into the fabric of the music. Lines like "the land of oblivion is not real" and "time is an illusion" form the backbone of the album's philosophical undercurrent. The album's release is paired with artwork by Peter Skwiot Smith, with the 2xLP available on limited edition coloured vinyl, fully mastered by Taylor Deupree.

Review: Jacob Long's fourth full-length LP for Kranky hears the artist otherwise known as Earthen Sea expand his repertoire to an almost full reimagining, taking to the now longstanding Earthen Sea moniker from the fresh incarnation as a "piano trio", rather than a solo production effort. Though we gather this might not genuinely be the case, all it took was a simple shift in self-imagining to fashion a completely different take on a still so far meditative sound. Here elements were chopped and resampled, then layered with bass, drums, percussion and additional keys; the result is a fusion of live band acoustics and downtempo loops, sculpted into nine smoke-and-mirror dubs of fractured jazz, soft-focus noir and trip hop dust.

Originally released in 1975, this seminal work showcases Sekito's talent of the Electone, blending fresh rhythms and whimsical melodies that have impressed audiences across genres - from hip-hop to dream pop. 'The Word II', a standout track famously covered by Mac DeMarco on 'Chamber of Reflection,' catapulted Sekito's music to international recognition, inspiring artists like Travis Scott and Quavo's Huncho Jack. Sekito, known also for his piano workds under the name Ken Akishino, pushed the boundaries of sound manipulation and tone color, creating compositions described as both meticulous and daringly innovative. His legacy, bolstered by this meticulously remastered reissue and accompanied by comprehensive liner notes from Chee Shimizu, continues to shape the future of Electone music, resonating deeply with enthusiasts worldwide.

Review: Blume Records return to the forefront of the contemporary experimental canon with the first ever vinyl edition of (a study of) James Tenney's infamous Fluxus suite, Postal Pieces. The storied composer and music theorist was an alpine fixture of the modern music compositional world, with his various writings - both notated on the stave and prosaically penned in the journal - amounting to exquisitely impenetrable tracts on every isolable facet of music theory from harmonic perception to process music to sound synthesis to spectral music. Originally a set of 11 pieces but truncated to five here, drawing on a set of live recordings laid down in 2003, Postal Pieces is one of many of Tenney's works emphasising process over end result. Perhaps the emphasis on process was an attempt to treat the sufferances of "schizophonia", which had plagued musicologists since the 1930s as one of many fussed-over consequences of recorded music obscuring the original source of the sounds heard through an extended medium. The album's sonic pentagram - of long sequences resembling air-raid sirens, its basal textural swells and backroomed feedback loops - might sound doomy to the glib ear. Ultimately, though, this album could also be read as a simple formal exercise, one intended to divert Tenney's own aversion to writing letters (despite his wont to write music theory). Ironically enough, we're sure that, in the wake of this reissue and its hot demand, the postal system itself will thank Tenney for the boost in revenue.

Review: Noton Records - an outfit dedicated largely and almost solely to the output of experimental electronic / minimal legend Alva Noto - here presents the full 10" box set version of Infinity, the mammoth set of originally 72 (here just 50) "sound graffities" commissioned to the artist by contemporary art exhibition Documenta X. The aim of Documenta X was to abstract the member of the public from their everyday lifeworld, exposing them instead to bare sonic spaces in which modernist sound fragments were played back, expressly challenging the collective listener's cochlear gaze. None of these pieces amount to full songs on Noto's part; instead they serve as auditory "throw-ups", to borrow from graffiti parlance, mirroring the unconscionable nature of certain visual or aural perceptions - public art works, gradual alterations in the environment, etc. - as we perceive them only intuitively, only in passing, as we submit to the daily bustle of the street. It comes as no surprise that many of these pieces were also played in public spaces outside the white cube, such as airports and public spaces: the tracks squeeze and bend time-space with twinging noisebursts and glitching digital scuzzes; cortically, convexly, chirally inverting the dysthymias of urban life and transience.

Review: FKA twigs' highly-anticipated third album, EUSEXUA, marks a significant new chapter for the artist. Released via Young Recordings, EUSEXUA is more than just a collection of songs - it's a state of mind, a form of transcendence she describes as being rooted in art, music, sex, and human connection. The term itself, twigs explains, refers to the pinnacle of human experience - a fleeting yet powerful moment where we are fully present, disengaged from technology, and in harmony with those around us. Much of the inspiration behind EUSEXUA comes from twigs' late nights spent exploring Prague's underground techno scene, where those moments of deep, collective euphoria became the spark for the album. Sonically, EUSEXUA builds on her boundary-pushing approach to experimental pop, but with an intensified focus on the primal energy that runs through the underground scenes she's been drawn to. Tracks pulse with the kind of intensity that reflects this fusion of personal transcendence and the physicality of the dancefloor. It's an album that captures not just the emotional highs of these experiences, but their fleeting, almost ethereal nature. With EUSEXUA, twigs has created something that feels deeply rooted in the present, but timeless in its exploration of what it means to be human, to feel, and to truly exist in the moment.

Review: New York-based Black Swan returns with an impressive ninth album on ambient gold mine Past Inside The Present. The is the CD version (we also have it on cassette) and it's a record that blends analogue recording techniques to blur the lines between memory and reality. Influenced by musique concrete, ambient and dark drone traditions, the album is a continuous suite of 20 tracks that reflect a spirit navigating the physical world. Some are short vignettes while others evolve over longer play times with layered intensity. Standouts include 'Like Dust, I Linger' with its tender warble and 'Ad Infinitum' which is lit up with shimmering synths. It's another triumphant work from Black Swan.

Contrarian
Review: Canadian DJ and producer Marie Davidson returns with her latest single 'Contrarian', a collaboration with Pierre Guerineau and Soulwax, released via the DEEWEE label. Featuring a fierce blend of raw electronics, 'Contrarian' stands out as one of Davidson's strongest club tracks to date. Earlier this year, Davidson made her debut on the iconic DEEWEE imprint with her track 'Y.A.A.M. (Your Asses Are Mine)', reuniting with Soulwax, who had previously remixed her acclaimed anthem 'Work It'. This release continues to showcase her forward-thinking approach to electronic music production.

Review: Bristol label-turned-blog Innate launches a new sub-label, Innate Editions, which it says is dedicated to timeless UK techno, IDM, electro and ambient music, and it will all come on heavyweight vinyl. The first release revives Connective Zone's Palm Palm, a millennium-era cult classic and Ben UFO favourite that first came out on Mark Broom and Dave Hill's Unexplored Beats in 2001. Now, this long-out-of-print, expensive and hard to find gem has been remastered by Jamie Anderson and so sounds superb with many lavish electronic layers, richly emotive melodies and dynamic drums that lean on UK techno, IDM, and deep electro. Sounds as good now as it ever did.

Review: The makings of Murcof's new album Twin Colour were first germinated in 2020, shaped by the early days of the pandemic lockdowns. The first volume in a new multidisciplinary project between Fernando Corona (Murcof), his daughter Alina Corona, and his colleague Simon Geilfus, Twin Colour is born of less conception and more studio heuristics, though it draws many of its inspirations from some of the 80s material that Murcof had laid down at the start of his career. As such, an impressive combo of tape-hissed coldwave and modern, progressive ambient is heard here, straying from Murcof's trickier material for something much more roughshod, tawny and dramatic.
