Transmigration Part II
Cat: DFR 001. Rel: 29 Nov 23
Mechanistic Nature
System Self
Seat Of Mind
Conscious Machinery
Review: Earlier in the year, Barcelona-based Uruguayan Jorge Gamarra (also known as Ecstatic) debuted his Transmigration series on Spanish label Future Tones. For this second volume, he's switched to the freshly minted Dance Floor Rituals label. As with its predecessor, it showcases far-sighted slabs of dancefloor futurism that draw much influence from classic sci-fi techno, electro, early UK tech-house and, to a lesser degree, early 90s bleep & bass. Gamarra giddily skips between sub-heavy sci-fi electro ('Mechanistic Nature'), spacey and melodious widescreen techno ('System Self'), acid-splattered starburst jack-tracks (the formidably sweat-soaked 'Seat of Mind') and warming machine soul (the bleeps, organ stabs and supernova synths of 'Conscious Machinery').

Dias de D-D-D-D-Dope (limited 12")
Cat: DDC 001. Rel: 29 Nov 23
Extra Dimension (6:03)
E3rea (6:05)
D-D-D-D-Dope (6:05)
Floxy (6:23)
Review: The Dias De Campo label comes from TheBasement, Montanejos' boutique music festival, and kicks off with a new EP from Otis, a Berlin-based live performer and producer who has been slamming these tracks at his gigs all summer long. All four tracks are hard to categorise and mutant fusions of EBM, electro, techno and progressive. The grooves are tough and stark from the off with 'Extra Dimension' defined by its grittiness and dehumanised vocal loops while 'E3rea' has a more cosmic aura. 'D-D-D-D-Dope' is perfect afterparty tackle with its icy minimalism and 'Floxy' shuts down with a bit of disco dazzled dazzle and electroclash snap.

Review: Madrid producer and DJ Henry Saiz returns to top up the 32nd edition of the longstanding Balance DJ mix series - it's also his third appearance for the series to date. Spanning three discs, we hear from adjacent artists including Hal Incandenza, Karmon, Royksopp, Milio and NVSB: beginning with a pristine technosingular vision in downtempo ('I Know What You Are') and ending on a shufflier, higher-tempo, even quasi-Balearic, progressive-housey set of conclusions. Also crammed with exclusive, unreleased material, this isn't one fans or completists will want to miss.

Isometra (7:14)
Enagic (7:19)
Nairoosh (5:58)
Flow State (7:15)
Review: Progressive house was always huge across Eastern Europe and so it is that this lush new offering comes from Estonian label Gestalt. Modex is at the buttons and opens with the twisted synth lines and multi-layered rhythm of 'Isometra' which is bright and endlessly energising. 'Enagic' has a more undulating groove that never lets you settle but more colourful synth lines and then 'Nairoosh' strips things back a bit to a more serene sound that is always on the rise. 'Flow State' shits down with the most prickly energy of the lot and more warped synths for heady excursions.
