Triple wave folder module containing 3 independent voltage controlled wave multipliers
Notes: The TWF module was designed with multi-use in mind. It is composed of three identical (with the exception of a couple features) direct-coupled waveshaping stages that can be used independently or in series. The operation is selected according to which inputs are used.

The facility for independent control over each folding stage provides multiple processing options for a variety of sources as well as more interesting explorations with timbre modulations/frequency synthesis.

Each stage can gently fold an input source inward on itself as it approaches a threshold set by the panel controls and CV. For example, a sawtooth or a triangle input from a VCO can be bent into a sinewave, and beyond that, doubled in frequency at constant amplitude. Use them in series and they will continue to fold.

Here are a few things that you can do with it, under voltage control:

Create complex timbres from audio sources. The possibilities are really limitless. You can control each series of harmonics via the BIAS panel controls. So the overall sweep through the folds when using the VC ALL/MANUAL controls is very flexible and since each stage of the folding process is VC'able, you can use different modulation sources simultaneously for wild animation/phasing/beating with a single tone source.

The normalized DC bias at input 1B can be used to control the symmetry of the folding process, via the control knob (when the input is not in use).

CV Processor for LFOs, envelope generators, sequencers or any control source. Create multiple interesting rhythmic modulation sources from an otherwise dull one. Useful in creating more complex, continuously variable shapes for modulation or timing.

Accurately multiply/square up an input signal. Shape your triangles and sawtooths into very pure sinewaves. Mangle your sinewaves or anything else into asymmetrical fuzz. Generate a cosine function relative to your VCO's triangle/sine output (useful for quad panning, stereo modulation). You can do a couple of these things at the same time with different sources.

In other words, the module will emit charming tube noise. Operation as a crude VCA is possible as well.

Versatile voltage generator module with 16 touch-sensitive pads
Notes: The Twisted Electrons Cells features 16 touch-sensitive pads including integral LED lights to give visual feedback on which pads are activated. The Eurorack style module can be fed up to two 12-bit values (semi-tone quantized or free scale) ranging from 0 to 5 volts. This duophonic rack-style instrument is primarily made for generating low-bit tones but can be also used to modulate parameters such as filters or amps and anything else that features a CV input. You can use the module as a sequencer using the 2 trigger inputs with the left input shifting up a row and the right input shifting right by one column. The handmade design features 2 CV/gate outputs, 2 tune buttons and 2 trigger inputs for optimal versatility, allowing you to use the Twisted Electrons Cells for a range of modulation applications.

Operation Overview:

Feed It:
- Tap a pad to select it
- Hold a tune button to engage the "feeding process" (left button for channel 1, right for channel 2).
- Adjust a knob to the desired pitch (left knob for channel 1, right for channel 2).
- So long as a tune button is held, the output is automatically changed as you move the knob
- Release the button, pitch information is stored to Eeprom

You can toggle between free scaling and semi-tone increment modes by pressing both tune buttons simultaneously.

Play it:
- Press a pad to trigger both gate and CV outputs
- Hold 2 or more pads and Cells will arpeggiate, the rate can now be changed with the left knob. The right knob changes the octave range.

Sequence it:
- Sequence the cells using the 2 trigger inputs. The left input shifts up a row and the right input shifts right by one column
- The gate outputs mirror the trigger inputs.
- Cells requires +5V DC power to operate, as well as +/- 12V. On-board 12V to 5V conversion is provided if 5V isn't available in your system. This is configured via a jumper on the rear of the module

Notes: The Multi-Delay Processor is a creatively usable echo effect with eight taps. The module's sound may remind you of classic bucket-brigade devices. - It even generates distinctive pitch effects when altering the delay time. An input mixer gives audio material a crisp, analogue character. Thanks to feedback channels with pitch shifter and reverb processor, shimmering echoes and other atmospheric effects can be achieved. A total of nine envelope followers and 14 audio outputs invite you to do extensive feedback patches and other edgy experiments.

The Multi-Delay Processor isn't just a high-quality echo effect but was designed to be a fundamental ingredient of patches. Its core is a bank of eight digital delays, which are wired in series. Together, the circuits form a multi-tap echo. The volume of each signal repetition as well as the raw material can be adjusted via faders. Furthermore, there are individual audio and envelope follower CV outputs for the dry signal and all taps. An analogue clock is used to control the echo circuits. The delay time can be set manually via a potentiometer plus there are two CV inputs with bipolar attenuators. Altering the delay time parameter during operation leads to pitch effects. At this point at latest, you'll realize the superiority of the serial memory design used by Mark Verbos over average effect chips. Despite its digital core, the Multi-Delay Processor offers charming sound reminiscent of a classic bucket-brigade device. - Only cleaner and more transparent.

A three-channel mixer with dedicated level potentiometers adds analogue character to signals before they are fed to the delay circuits. Without patch cables plucked into the second and / or third input, you can use these channels as feedback paths with additional effects. In detail, a pitch shifter calibrated to +1 octave (channel 2) and a reverb (channel 3) are available. - A perfect setup for creating shimmering echoes and other atmospheric effects. High feedback values make the module self-oscillate. In contrast to the multi-tap delay, which consists of individual components, an FV-1 chip is used for pitch shifting and reverberation. This processor is well-known, as it is the main component of multi-effects modules like the Erica Black Hole DSP and numerous guitar pedals. Here, the FV-1 is "just" a creative addition to the main effect.

In addition to the manual mix output, which emits the mixture of raw and effect material dialled in via the faders, there are four other audio outs. Two of these connectors provide signals derived from summing up all even respectively odd taps. The other sockets emit preset mixes with increasing or decreasing level. - Very cool for quickly creating special effects.

The Dual Buffered Multiple/Inverter is equipped with two active buffered multiples in 1U tile format.

Each section of this Tile has an input and three buffered outputs on top - a classic buffered multiple. On the bottom the inversion ofthe input is available, likewise three-fold, active and buffered which in contrast to an un-buffered multiple allows you to use this module also to distribute Key-CV to a few oscillators.

In the left section you'll find an Offset input socket which allows you to mix an offset voltage with the input signal. With a constant CV source, e.g. from the Dual Attenuator/Mixer you can amplify the signal of this multiple section or attenuate it with negative voltage. With a LFO or Sequencer you can also modulate the amplitude of the inverted multple signal.

Quad modulation engine synth module with internal clock generator
Notes: fourMulator is a digital quad LFO-module for euro rack compatible modular synthesizer and sound processing systems. Due to its ability to synchronize the modulators (LFOs) to each other or to an overall clock-reference, fourMulator is capable generating complex and rhythmic modulation structures.

Modulators (LFOs)

Each modulator offers six wave forms: ascending and descending saw tooth, square, triangle, sine and random (sample & hold) with a frequency range between 0.05Hz (20 seconds) to approx. 100Hz. Each modulator offers wave form and trigger outputs, the latter sending an impulse with every new start of the selected wave form. Reset- and CV-inputs allow external parameter manipulation - from other modules or from other modulators of the fourMulator itself.

Synchronization

All four modulators work independently. However, they can be synchronized with each other. Each modulator can be individually synchronized to the left neighboring module or to a clock-reference.

Two or more synchronized modulators always oscillate at the same frequency. However, a synchronized modulator can be phase-shifted by up to 180° (a half-cycle) to the clock-reference. This allows easy creation of counter-rotating modulations. More complex modulations can be achieved using the CV-input to manipulate phase-shift.

With active clock-synchronization, the corresponding modulators oscillate in reference to a common clock-signal, but use individual clock-dividing factors. Again, advanced possibilities result from being able to manipulate clock-division through the modules' CV-inputs.

Both forms of synchronization can be combined. With one modulator being synchronized to a clock signal, it may as well serve as reference to the right neighboring modulator.

CLOCK Generator (CLK)

fourMulator integrates an internal clock generator. Its tempo can be assigned using a tap-tempo-button or by using an external clock-reference.

Our quad MIDI Interface picks up the flexible voice assignment of VERMONA's PERfourMER MKII to provide a fourfold MIDI-to-CV/Gate converter for Eurorack-compatible modular systems. This way, you can play your modular synthesizer in different monophonic modes or even polyphonically using MIDI.

More than just pitch:
Each of the four "output channels" offers a CV-output with 1V/octave-characteristic, a gate-output plus two additional control voltage outputs. These can be easily addressed by MIDI-controllers such as the modulation-wheel or pitch bender. The output channels can freely be combined or be used with independent MIDI-channels. Combined output channels can be used in unison, monophonically with rotating voice assignment or even to create polyphony. qMI 2 also offers four clock-divider-outputs. These convert incoming MIDI-clock signals into analogue gate-voltages. A reset-output allows sequencers with corresponding input to run in sync by MIDI-start/stop commands. A new feature of qMI 2 is the option to switch between both monophonic voice assignment modes using a gate signal.

Notes: RandomRHYTHM is a random-based dual-channel trigger sequencer with a very unique concept. What you cannot do with it is manually setting steps or tapping-in a rhythm. Instead you have four sliders per rhythm-section to set the probability for the appearance of quarters, eighths, sixteenths and triplets to form sequences.

Realtime or Dice:

Each of the rhythm-section can work in realtime or dice mode.

Apropos clocks, the module can create its own or work with external clocks (per rhythm-section if you like).

Additional fun is guaranteed by the flexible RESET input that lets you mute the outputs or restart your diced bar. As with all parameters, the functionality can be set individually per rhythm-section.

RandomRHYTHM is a creativeness booster. It is easy to create complex rhythms or straight four-to-the-floor beats. Its fool proof user interface lets you play it without thinking about randomness and probabilities, although that's the fundamental concept of the module. You don't need to be a stochastic genius!

It doesn't matter if you use it as sole rhythm-base or as valuable addition to other sequencers. RandomRHYTHM gives you a different view to rhythms and the way to generate them.

The multimode filter works as lowpass or highpass with a slope of 24 dB per octave or as bandpass with 12 dB per octave. It is followed by a voltage controlled amplifier. The filter and amplifier can be modulated individually by different sources.

The Retroverb Lancet offers 3 internal modulation sources:

Envelope follower: the envelope follower converts the amplitude characteristic of the audio input signal into a control voltage.
Envelope generator: the envelope generator can be triggered by the input signal itself, a second audio signal or a gate voltage. Depending on the trigger source it works as Attack-Decay or as Attack-Sustain-Release envelope.

The Crash function generates the popular thunder effect that occurs when kicking an amplifier with spring tank. You don't have to kick Retroverb Lancet you simply can achieve this effect by pressing the Crash button. It also can be triggered by a Gate voltage.

The multimode filter works as lowpass or highpass with a slope of 24 dB per octave or as bandpass with 12 dB per octave. It is followed by a voltage controlled amplifier. The filter and amplifier can be modulated individually by different sources.

The Retroverb Lancet offers 3 internal modulation sources:

Envelope follower: the envelope follower converts the amplitude characteristic of the audio input signal into a control voltage.
Envelope generator: the envelope generator can be triggered by the input signal itself, a second audio signal or a gate voltage. Depending on the trigger source it works as Attack-Decay or as Attack-Sustain-Release envelope.
LFO: the LFO offers saw up and saw down, square, sine as well as sample&hold. Additionally it can use the envelope generators settings as waveform. It can oscillate freely or reset by different trigger sources.

The Retroverb Lancet also offers a CV/Pedal input which can be feed by external control voltages or can be used with expression pedals.

Individual Filter Outputs:

tVCF-Extension has got individual outputs for each filter type of twinVCFilter's filter-sections and even adds notch outputs. You can use all outputs at the same time.

Polarizers:

As you might know, twinVCFilter already has two CV-inputs per filter section. We thought that might not be enough for complex patches, so tVCF-Extension has additional CV-inputs to modulate the cutoff-frequencies. Each with a dedicated polarizer for attenuating and inverting incoming voltages.

Notes: The D-ENV is a 10hp Eurorack Envelope Generator with the addition of Delay and Hold functions for gates. As a "utility-effect" of sorts, it allows for delayed dynamics, which can provide more spacial or dimensional sounds within many configurations, including drum beat delays, or part of an echoic soundscape. Exponential envelope generator (ADSR/AR) with independent delayed gate/trigger processing (up to 1 second), and delay-hold (up to 1 second).

14HP analog voltage controlled filter in Eurorack format
Notes: The VCF-74 is a 14HP voltage controlled filter in Eurorack format. VCF-74 features a dual analogue high-pass and low-pass filter, cascaded (series, from HP > LP). The discrete diode filter circuit is inspired by the 1970s Univox Mini-Korg synthesizer's "Traveller" filter section which provides warm, organic sound to your modular system. However, this design was not only adapted for Eurorack, but is feature enhanced for a wide array of possible filter characteristics.

A stage boost switch allows you to drive the 2nd filter section (Low-Pass) with a +5.3dB signal boost from the High-Pass output signal creating a warm saturation and varied resonance to signal ratio/dynamics. Independent manual resonance controls per filter section allows you to fine-tune a wide variety of focused sound. Input and Output level controls allow you to optimize dynamic range, including how hard you drive the filter--which drastically changes the dynamic interplay between signal and harmonic resonance. Both High-Pass and Low-Pass circuits have independent cutoff controls. Independent CV inputs for cutoff and resonance of each filter section, and attenuation/gain for CV to cutoff provide superior control over filter behaviour. The VCF-74 can be set up as a Low-Pass, High-Pass, or Band-Pass filter. Width of the Band-Pass can be adjusted by simply dialling in the offset controls appropriately.

What are the changes for the new MK2 version of VCF-74?

- The faceplate will look exactly the same, except the addition of "MK2" nomenclature screen printed
- The audio signal path will have slightly lower frequency response as a result of component value changes
- The audio signal path will now use fewer coupling capacitors (more direct-coupled circuits mean better performance, less slewing).
- Added buffer circuits at the input and final filter-to-output stage (which will improve performance)

Percussion module using granular synthesis - 8HP
Notes: The Chimera, pronounced "kai-meer-ah", is WMD's first percussion synthesizer module for Eurorack.

First, they recorded samples of different metallic hits to create the sonic signatures that they call Surfaces. The sources include tambourines, sleigh bells, drill bits, wrenches, shell casings, coins, chains and stomp box enclosures.

Second, they built a proprietary granular synthesis engine around the sonic signatures with the goal of making a module that could sound like a human hitting and shaking a tambourine. Notes: Originally inspired by audience applause, hip-hop samples, and classic drum machines, Fracture is a multi-particle percussion synthesizer that applies concepts from classic analogue clap circuits to granular synthesis methods.

It all starts from proprietary micro-samples we recorded specifically for this purpose and ends with an engine built to suit these samples.

Stereo filter module in 6HP with high pass & low pass circuits
Notes: The WMD Overseer is a stereo filter inspired by those commonly found on DJ mixers and DJ software. It features two filters on one knob, stereo ins and outs, bypass switch, and a fun stereo "Tilt" function which offsets the filter cut-off frequency across the stereo field creating some dizzying stereo effects.

Controls:

- Bypass Switch: Turns the filter on and off. LED will be red when the filter is engaged. Toggles on button release.
- Filter Cut-off Knob (the big one): Turn Left for Low-Pass filtering and Right for High-Pass filtering. No filtering in the middle. Becomes offset with CV.
- Filter Cut-off Switch: Switched to the left limits both filters to audible frequencies so you cannot accidentally filter out all signal. Switched to the right disables the limit allowing you to filter the signal into oblivion.
- Resonance knob: Controls the amount of frequency boost at the cut-off point. Will not self-oscillate. Knob becomes offset with CV.
- Tilt Knob: In the middle applies no tilt. Rotate left or right to off set the offset to the filter cut-off on each side. Knob becomes offset with CV.
- Tilt Switch: Allows you to apply the Tilt function to either or both HP and LP. Left for LP, right for HP, centre for both.
- HP - LP Knobs: Attenuverters for incoming CV over the filters.
- HP - LP Switch: Switch to the right sends 5V to the HP - LP knobs and turns them into independent controls for the cut-off frequency of both filters, allowing you to control both filters at the same time with these independent knobs.

Notes: The WMD Pro Output is a simple and purpose built module to get your modular signal interfaced with professional and consumer audio gear. It also includes a very high quality headphone driver.

Rail to rail opamps at the input stage allow for headroom above the typical eurorack levels of 20Vpp. The Pro Output can handle 23Vpp before clipping. Signals are attenuated down to the proper levels allowing for simple adjustment free connection to any type of device, professional or consumer.

The Pro Output is DC coupled through the entire signal path, including the headphone driver. This design eliminates coupling capacitors and the distortion they can cause.

Controls and I/O:

Input - The inputs are designed to accept any normal modular level. 10Vpp is the nominal operation level. The left input is normaled to the right side for mono operation. Inputs will clip at 23Vpp, giving enough headroom for any eurorack signal.

Phones/Line - The headphone driver connects to a 3.5mm stereo jack, and a 1/4" jack for whatever type of headphones you use. It can drive both simultaneously.

The headphone output level is internally limited to protect against accidental knob turns. Connect a couple of jumpers to the rear of the module to disable this limiting. This will allow the headphone amp to drive headphones extremely loudly, but still without distortion. Output quality remains the same regardless of the jumper settings.

With the limiting enabled (jumpers off), the maximum output is around -10dBV. With limiting disabled (jumpers on), the maximum output increases to pro level, about +4dBu.

Stereo - The Stereo (-10dBV) output is designed to interface directly with consumer level gear. Hook directly to sound cards, portable recorders, and speakers. It can be used as a second headphone output but will be loud.

+4dBu Bal - These two outputs (left and right) are high quality low impedance balanced line drivers. They are designed to drive long cables and to drive balanced transformer or transformerless inputs. Use these to connect directly to mixing consoles, mic preamps, or any other piece of professional outboard gear.

The signal path uses 0.1% resistors and will pass precision pitch or other CV signals with minimal gain and offset errors.
Inputs 1 - 4: These inputs accept bipolar +-10V signals before clipping. Signal level will illuminate the adjacent LED; green for positive voltages, red for negative.

Outputs 1 - 4: These outputs (along the bottom) contain the signals from the inputs (summed together) if the routing LED is lit.

Comparator: The Compare In input voltage is compared to each output voltage. If the output is higher than the Compare In voltage, the Comp output will be high (10V gate) for that channel. The blue LED will also be illuminated.

DAC 1:2 Out: This output is generated from the status of the first two columns. It is a weighted Digital to Analog conversion. 1-1 is the most significant bit, carrying a weight of 2.5 volts. 2-1 is exactly half that weight (1.25V). 4-2 is the least significant bit (0.020V). The two columns provide an 8 bit voltage output that is always present.

Notes: A companion module to the Arpitecht,Triad sends out three static voltages to be used with three oscillators in order to create chords underneath your Arpeggios. Triad connects to the back of the Arpitecht via included ribbon cable and will adhere to the scale and transpose information set by it's master.

Triad knob and CV input set different combinations so your chord can be completely unique, while still in key with your arpeggio. Inversion switch and CV input allow you to select three different chord voicings easily.

Notes: The Modbox is a tempo syncable modulation source with a three-phase LFO, CV Skewable LFO, Sample and Hold, and White Noise generator.

LFO 1 is a three-phase LFO with independent outputs for each phase which are set at 0, 120, and 240 degrees. Shape can be switched between Sine, Triangle, and Saw with a push of a button.

LFO 2 is a Skewable LFO with three shapes. The LFO shape can be smoothly changed from a Ramp through Triangle to Saw wave shapes. The skew shape can be changed with the Skew knob or with CV

The Sample and Hold circuit's clock is normalled to the 2nd LFO but can be clocked externally as well. The sample and hold samples voltage from and internal white noise source. There is also an input for an external sample source. White noise has its own output as well for use with other modules and applications.

Both LFOs can be sync'd to an external clock source by holding the wave shape button for different lengths of time. As they are independent of each other, one can be sync'd while the other runs free like a gazelle on an African plain.

Tempo sync calculates the time between incoming clocks and reacts instantly to each new clock pulse. Each rate knob becomes a multiplier/divider when sync is engaged.
