Infinite Image (5:00)
Variation Five (4:40)
The Mirror Dome (4:18)
Chemical Glass (4:55)
Reflect Itself (3:22)
Island Eye (4:52)
Review: Belfast's Space Dimension Controller returns with six glistening slow-burners that nod to Warp's early 90s Artificial Intelligence era, while gently messing with the co-ordinates. There's a subtlety in the programming: 'Infinite Image' drifts with a low-lit acid bassline and glassy synth layers, while 'Variation Five' hints at the woozy futurism of B12 or Spacetime Continuum. 'The Mirror Dome' and 'Chemical Glass' are deeper stillibuilt less for peak-time than post-club recalibration, hovering somewhere between ambient techno and dream-sequence electro. Even the percussive flickers of 'Reflect Itself' feel fluid, while closer 'Island Eye' stretches out like mist. Not nostalgic, not entirely newijust rich, soft-focus electronics executed with typical finesse.

Something Tells Me (4:51)
Review: Steve Spacek makes a welcome return with 'Blue Room' i a smooth, slow-burning blend of broken beat, minimal soul, and futuristic electronics. Known for his work with the influential group Spacek and collaborations with the likes of Mark Pritchard and SA-RA - aside from beign brother of Exit Records mogul dBridge - Spacek has long operated at the outer edges of UK soul and electronic music. This release continues that tradition i understated, groove-led and rich in atmosphere. The title track is quietly hypnotic, built on a loose, off-grid rhythm and his signature airy vocals. Subtle and spacious, 'Blue Room' doesn't demand attention, but rewards close listening.

Review: Mark Springer - long a restless force in post-punk, free jazz and modern composition - joins Neil Tennant for a cool-headed meeting of minds, fusing Springer's jagged piano suites with Tennant's metrical lyricism and raw delivery. The pair orbit very different creative poles: Springer, known for his time in London punk funksters Rip, Rig and Panic, often works in extremes; whereas Tennant brings a crisped, measured sensibility honed over decades of pop songcraft. Here they land somewhere unexpected, in a padded set of chamber-style pieces for piano, quartet and quintet, wrapped in a dry mist of vocals trading in reflection, dislocation and dream logic.

Every Day I Love
Review: Words and terms such as benchmark, revolutionary and paradigm shift are thrown around far too casually and liberally when writing about music. But if there's one electronic album that really does live up to those tags it's Ultravisitor. Still sounding like it's from another planet to this day, from the moment eponymous opener headbutts us with an ice breakbeat shatter to those very last guitar plucks on 'Everyday I Love', this is concentrated Squarepusher in every possible geometrical permutation. So many breakcore and IDM parameters were set on this exceptional body of work. From the metal militancy of 'Steinbolt' to the fantastical drive (and wild slap bass) of 'Tetra-Sync', this remains a wholly unique LP that's both wonderful challenging and definitely not of this earth.

Armando - "100% Disin' Of You" (St David club Re-Diss) (5:58)
Salsoul Orchestra - "Sun After The Rain" (St David Groovylizer Magic dub) (6:05)
Review: Tribute To House Masters launches its homage to talented producers from the foundational days of house and disco with a first volume featuring some real heavyweights. Each of the originals has been remixed by St David who begins with swinging and delightful deep house depths on 'The Underground.' His Gentle Re-Touch of Patrice Rushen leads to some chunky and full flavour disco house fun, the Club Re-Diss of Armando is jacked up and peak time house with a retro flair and lastly Groovylizer Magic dub brings some silky and soulful flourishes to a Salsoul Orchestra classic.

Review: James Donadio returns to Diagonal with Tinge Of Ascension, his first LP under the StabUdown banner in over a year. Written during a period of immersion in Krishna Consciousness and Dharma Yoga, the record filters Donadio's longstanding fascination with rhythm and repetition through a newly inward, psi attuned lens. Gone is the body music of his earlier output; these nine drift in and out of tempo, suspended in an unhindered, devotional murk. Lo-fi drum machinations ground various loop dissolutions and smear-structures, where things might otherwise lose themselves in an unfound pool of texture, this being true especially of the latter-record Charanjit Singh echo 'Singular Cobra' to the zooid drumming of 'Golden Firmament'.

Review: Steely Dan's cynical 1976 opus passes go once again, rounding off Universal's reissue campaign of the band's revered 1972-1980 catalogue. Known for its slick jazz-rock fusion and caustic topicality, the album houses fan favourites like the acid-laced 'Kid Charlemagne' and the tightly wound funk of 'The Fez'. The sardonic 'Haitian Divorce' became an unexpected UK top 20 hit; it was the only time the group ever cracked that territory's singles chart. Long hailed as one of the group's darkest and densest records, The Royal Scam signalled a transition toward the meticulous studio sheen that would define Aja the following year.

Review: After an extended hiatus of 15 years, Britain's foremost purveyors of Motorik-influenced avant-pop are back with a surprise new album. With leading members (and songwriters) Tim Gane and Laetitia Saddler at the helm and a vast array of former bandmembers and guest performers swinging by the studio to make their presence felt, Instant Holograms on Metal Films - here presented in Japanese edition form complete with obi-strip and an instrumental bonus cut - sounds and feels like classic Stereolab. For proof, wrap your ears around the nostalgic, jaunty and analogue-rich opener 'Mystical Pleasures', the warming shuffle of 'Melodie is a Wound', the slipped Gainsbourg flex of 'Le Coeur Et la Force', the jazzy joy of 'Transmuted Matter' and the heady nostalgia of 'Colour Television'.

Review: Akte is the Cologne-based event series rooted in timeless ambient, minimal and techno sounds and here it launches its own record label with a debut 12" EP by founder Philipp Stoffel. Featuring four original tracks and a signature remix by dub-techno icon VRIL, these sounds are less about cooking up direct dancefloor tools, more about immersive storytelling. The EP channels dub textures and deep sound design that compresses the emotional depth of an LP into a tight, cohesive selection. With mastering by the legendary Stefan Betke aka Pole, it's a top draw package with vision and substance aplenty.

Minott was one of the first artists to carve out a solo path on the legendary Studio One label, finding his groove as a solo artist after coming up singing harmony in the group African Brothers. This reissue shines a light on a record that's warm, honest, and full of feeling. Tracks like 'Vanity' and 'Jahovia' balance conscious themes with a loose, soulful delivery, while 'Give a Hand' and the title track show off Minott's flair for melody - always more heartfelt than flashy. Still sounds easy, sincere and full of life.

Review: Originally dispatched to the universe digitally via Candy Mountain, Sun People's powerful 'Emotional Distortions' now enjoys a vinyl boost-up and is sounding all the better for it. Landing just in time for the summer, each cut startles and satisfies in equal measure. 'Seul' lights an electroid fire, hitting us in our most introspective feels before 'Runaway' takes things up a notch and adds much more techno urgency to the scenario. Flip for two more slightly slower tempo shock-outs... 'Rhythm Guitar' brings a little funk before 'Exhausting Care' closes with more angular electro sharpness. Time to get emotional.

On Jupiter (3:58)
UFO (8:34)
Seductive Fantasy (17:06)
Review: On Jupiter finds American cult heroes Sun Ra and his Arkestra charting bold new orbits in 1979. Their cosmic jazz was again infused with funk, soul and electronic experimentation and was recorded during a wildly prolific stretch in New York. The newly reissued album feels both grounded in groove and untethered from reality. The slinky bounce of 'UFO,' the celestial drift of the title track and the kaleidoscopic sprawl of 'Seductive Fantasy' showcase Ra's expanding sonic vision in real time. As the musical world tilted toward disco and hip-hop, Sun Ra forged his own path by melding deep bass, astral synths and Afro-futurist chants into an otherworldly sound that still feels ahead of its time.

Review: Captured over two nights in August 1970, Sun Ra's landmark sets at Fondation Maeght mark his first performances outside North America and document one of the Arkestra's most potent live iterations. Set in a modern art gallery in southern France, the concerts land Ra, John Gilmore, Marshall Allen and co. amid a cross-disciplinary festival alongside Albert Ayler and LaMonte Young, and show the Arkestra in full visionary flight. 'Love In Outer Space' and 'Shadow World' blend ritual chant, sci-fi groove and volcanic improvisation, while 'Cosmic Explorer' and 'Spontaneous Simplicity' show the group folding modal jazz into galactic swing and freeform abstraction. Organ blasts, interstellar percussion, surreal monologues and projections of Egyptian gods and rockets made this a total work. Caux's recollections of stunned audiences match the recordings' scale: volatile yet tightly bound, cosmic but rooted in Black American avant-garde traditions. This new Strut edition spans four CDs and adds extensive liner notes and restored photos by Philippe Gras, pulling the Maeght nights from myth into focus. It's not a mere live document - more like a transmission, decoded decades later. If Ra was right that "space is the place," this is one of its clearest signals.

Review: Sunhouse put out their Crazy On The Weekend long player back in 1998 and it has since become known as something of a lost treasure of British indie soul. Not any more, as Rough Trade finally get round to this reissue. The album was praised at the time by Mojo and Uncut and is the only work from the Burton-on-Trent group. It blends warm acoustics, strings and heartfelt vocals with plenty of honesty and emotion and was recorded in producer John Reynolds' Notting Hill home/ Backing vocals from Sinead O'Connor add a touch of extra class and it features 'Monkey Dead' from Shane Meadows' Twenty-Four Seven. Frontman Gavin Clark's voice is unforgettable-haunting, human and soul-stirring throughout.

Review: This is the sound of Malian guitar mastery at its peak as Zani Diabate's Super Djata Band channelled raw magic on their 1981 album. Blending Wasulu hunter traditions, griot storytelling, Senufo dances and Fula and Mandingo sounds with psychedelic rock, blues and Afrobeat, the Bamako-based orchestra delivers a genre-bending sonic trip that more than stands up. This is where tradition meets wah-wah pedal wizardry across six electrifying tracks that blaze with intensity and infectious groove. It outlines a revolutionary sound forged for the people, by the people and in the 1980s, few bands matched their fire- could should still the same today, to be fair.

Review: First dropped in 1985 on Italy's London Records Production, Superbowl aka 93rd Superbow is a high-energy Italo disco project from producers Gianfranco Bortolotti and Roberto Arduini. With its pounding basslines and vibrant synths unfurling into infectious melodies, this is the sort of tune that embodies the quintessential 80s Italian club sound-catchy, bright and built for the 'floor. This reissue stays true to the original with both 'Forever and a Day' on the A-side and its full vocal dub version, 'Forever and Two Days,' on the flip. It's a real piece of quality and authentic Italo magic that still hits the spot.

Review: Greg Surmacz's latest LP finds him joined by a full live band and serving up jazz-inspired instrumentation with electronic styles like footwork, IDM and ambient, all enriched by deep, resonant bass that melds genres. It's a record that elevates both his musicianship and ambition and it flows with dynamic terrain, balancing tension and release while integrating both organic and electronic textures. Lead single 'Loft Music' captures this spirit with scattered percussion, urgent synths and bold horns and the whole thing is inspired by New York's 1970s loft jazz scene. Surmacz channels its freeform energy and builds something raw, direct and powerful where intensity only climbs as the album progresses.

Poten - "Coming Or Going" (7:31)
Lukey - "Spectrum" (6:44)
Review: We're told that this EP is an archive of encoded human memories made to "survive the AI's purge." Anyone listening back to this years from now will be sure we had a good old time, because it's slick and charming, minimal and tech with real soul. Sweater's 'Front Street Strut' is a kaleidoscope of colours, Reyer's- 'Martian Law' brings some stripped-back but bubbly and rubbery funk and Poten's 'Coming Or Going' layers up whirring machines and pixelated synth sequences into something zoned out and warm. Lukey shuts down with the snappy broken beat tech of 'Spectrum' with its bright, singing leads.

Review: The Sweet's contribution to the glam rock canon would find itself less popularly cherished than that of their coevals in Slade, Roxy Music and David Bowie, but that doesn't stop their said many hits from utterly reshaping the ridgeline of British pop rock history. Sweet evolved from bubblegum pop beginnings into one of the defining forces of 70s glam rock. Their early chart success kicked off in 1971 with 'Funny, Funny', made in collaboration with hit-making duo Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman. But this new compilation reissue, Platinum Rare 1, does yet more than just fixate on the hits, familiarising us even further intimately with the cat-suited four-piece in their nascency, selecting from longest-surviving member and guitarist Andy Scott's private archive, and with alternate takes, mixes and unreleased tracks recorded by the original lineup.

Review: Sweet Female Attitude was the first all-female fronted garage act, and they also dropped one of the genre's most enduring classics. 'Flowers' is pure sunshine and party, from the holy vocals to the soulful bassline and nice raw drums. Her hit gets a subtle rework by Sunship before the Sunship vs Chunky remix flips out the vocal for live MC mic work. '8 Days A Week' then gets niofused with classic 90s basslines and 'DJ Play It (Sunship remix)' closes with more of that old school charm and r&b laced garage swagger.
