Notes: For anyone who has ever struggled with finding their way around a Eurorack synthesiser on a dark stage or a dimly lit studio, Dim 2 presents an illuminating experience. In just 4 HP, it provides a complete solution to upgrade your modular system with a pair of dimmable console lights.

The high-efficiency PWM dimmers run at high frequency, ensuring flicker-free and noise-free operation. Additionally, extensive line filtering keeps your Eurorack power supply happy and clean.

Not limited to just manual control, both dimmers also feature control voltage (CV) inputs, turning the connected lamps from simple light sources to voltage controlled audio-visual spectacles.

While the use of the included BNC LED lamps is recommended in order to keep power consumption low, halogen lamps may be used as well. Provided your power supply is beefy enough, up to 6 W of power may be drawn from each output. This even makes it possible to drive 12 V LED strips, truly making your patches shine bright.

Notes: The Flexshaper is a highly versatile module when it comes to modify evolving voltages in other directions and levels.

Five settings allow you to fold/expand/clip/compress/invert partially or completely any CV or audio signal.

The module can act as an envelope-shaping tool, frequency multiplier, waveshaper, clipper, distortion, limiter, curve changer, and more.

Five CV inputs offer limitless control over the placement of the voltage points for dynamic signal sculpting.

Birth of the product

The idea of the Flexshaper comes from a feature in the Oberheimr Matrix synthesizers called Tracking Generator.

This signal processor was part of the modulation matrix and meant to be virtually inserted between modulation sources and destinations in order to change the shape of the controlling signal.

The Flexshaper applies the same concept using the same 5 shaping points. However, it goes beyond Oberheim's implementation on two main aspects:

It goes fast enough to process signals at full audio rate
The 5 points are dynamically adjustable (CV) in real-time
Besides, the Flexshaper can process adequately bipolar and unipolar Eurorack signals, even changing them one another.

Focused versatility seems an oxymoron when describing the features that led to the design of the Mixwitch.

With only a pinch of mixing, inverting and controlled switching, Klavis Electronics brew up a plethora of combinations and uses.

This is voltage processing magic!

The Mixwitch design comes from a frustration with attenuvertors (bipolar attenuators-inverters) whose off (neutral) position is difficult to retrieve, especially in live situations.

Klavis went for a digitally-controlled analogue path where polarity inversion would be at the touch of a button. So, the usefulness of attenuating/inverting can be realized by turning the pot down, swiftly pressing the inversion button and reopening the level. The zero level is where you expect it, with the pot full down.

Once a clean polarity control was established, a mute function was added, offering the benefit of pre-adjusted pot settings ready to be activated at will.

The next step was to bring something extra, useful and creative. There are plenty of analogue switches controlled by a clock; but arbitrarily selecting an input with a voltage is less known. Having both control capabilities combined with Klavis' specific mixer features creates a unique fusion: welcome to the Mixwitch!

Clever four-channel utility module designed to make it easier to achieve perfect oscillator tracking and transpose CV signals. Also includes some neat quantising and portamento features.

The CalTrans solves issues encountered when playing tonal music with a modular system: tracking problems, curves unrelated to Volt per octave ratio, limited octave range, cumbersome transpose, ...

The CalTrans corrects and expands the range of troublesome VCOs and brings V/Oct tracking to anything that oscillates.

Besides calibration, the CalTrans offers live play features. Each channel can be quantized and any combination of them transposed jointly.

A pair of rotary encoders with detent allow an precise selection of octaves and semitones.

VCOs whose tracking doesn't go high enough to follow the leader will see their pitch repositioned in their highest possible octave so that the global harmony is unaffected.

You can add a pinch of portamento and glissando to each channel and save the whole in user presets.

Firmware 1.17 offers:
* User editable input scaling to match sources that don't generate perfect 1V per octave signals.
* Complete rewrite of the main processing with higher precision.
* ... and the unavoidable fixes and tweaks ;-)

The updated user manual 1.4 is much expanded with operations described in exquisite details :-)

Coaxial driver
Mounted in the center of the woofer is a 30mm silk dome tweeter in a coaxial configuration. Using this technology (unique in its price range) makes it a point source device, meaning that all the sound emanates from a single point not points that are 10" apart. This is crucial for improving off-axis response, but also allows for a more compact footprint cabinet.
Other benefits using coaxial studio monitors are sound clartiy and imaging.

Boundary compensation DIP switches
Sometimes the spaces where we mix aren't the most forgiving acoustically (especially if you're in a home studio).
The FX series monitors come equipped with boundary control EQ switches, that allow you to compensate for spaces that may not have been tuned or just need to be adjusted due to their proximity to the wall behind them. There is also a guide conveniently printed on the rear panel to show how the DIP switches work, and a more detailed explanation in the user guide.

A Coaxial Monitor for the 21st Century
The Fluid Audio Coaxial speaker design is notably different from traditional coaxial designs. Coaxial studio monitors in the 50's and 60's placed the high frequency driver behind the woofer, porting the high frequency through the woofer's voice coil opening. This design effectively used the woofer's cone as the wave guide, or horn. Since the woofer's cone is constantly moving (sometimes dramatically as it plays bass frequencies), there is a significant amount of Intermodulation distortion and audible smearing that happens as the high frequency radiates off the woofer's cone.

The coaxial design of the Fluid Audio FX series places the high frequency device in front of the woofer, secured to a fixed post. The tweeter is mounted in a hard plastic wave guide that allows the high frequencies to flow uninterrupted, so there is no audio smearing from the woofer's movements. By using the on-board DSP, 48 and 36db per octave Linkwitz-Riley slopes not only perfectly blend the low and high frequencies, but are also used to filter out acoustic anomalies inherent in coax designs (as the tweeter does not have a full size baffle to radiate from.) In addition to these unique benefits, users get all the other known benefits of a coaxial driver Symmetrical off-axis response (which creates a bigger, more even and consistent sweet spot) and that of being a point source device, which allows better phase coherence between drivers resulting in extremely realistic imaging. Whether upright or laid on its side, the Fluid Coaxial design will perform identically making studio positioning easier and more user friendly.

Notes: Are you tired of trying to fit all of your favourite delays onto your already overflowing pedalboard? Did you constantly have trouble choosing just one pedal to serve as the catalyst of your echo-centric musings? Had you wished that a pedal company would give you more bang for your buck by merging multiple classic delay effects into one simple little box?

Well hold on to your whammy bar, because your problems are solved now that you've found the new Silos Multi-Generational Time Reflection Device! EQD have taken a digital delay, an analogue delay, and a tape delay and merged them all together as one pedal with six presets, a tap-tempo, and user assignable expression control.

It all started when EQD founder Jamie Stillman was admiring his three favourite delay pedals from his personal collection and began ruminating on their vast differences. This sparked an ambitious foray into uncharted territory in finding a way to assemble them all together as one uncomplicated unit. After months of tinkering, his mission was accomplished and the Silos was born. With just four knobs, one three-way switch, one Save/Recall button, and two footswitches, he made the impossible possible and now your guitar playing shall reap the rewards!

Each of the three modes offers up to one second of delay time which allows it to be a longer delay than EQD's other delay pedals. From noon and back is 500 milliseconds to zero, which has its own character. From 500 milliseconds to one second of delay time, it's an entirely different beast. Dial them in for shorter delay times where they really excel and add loads of atmosphere and vibes. Push them further for rhythmic delays that are perfect for strumming and adding extra ambiance for your riffs. And the tap tempo is truly precise and responsive so you can lock in your rate quickly within the first revolutions.

Notes: The SAMPLYR module is a sample player module, that plays sample files from a microSD card.

The samples are simple 8-bit mono WAV files. Features of the module are:

CV control for pitch with 1V/octave

Six buttons can be used for quick switching between six samples of the current folder
Additionally to the audio output, the SAMPLYR provides trigger outputs for loop start point, loop end point, playback end; by this, certain other operations can be triggered at these specific points, e.g. synchronizing to the loop points.

...and all this in a 1 unit AE module!

The sample files are organized as simple folders on the micro SD card named "A"..."Z" and per folder files named "0....wav, 1....wav, ..."

Included with the module is a micro-SD card with some demo samples; and each buyer will receive an update for the factory samples, made by the sound designer "empty vessel" exclusively for the SAMPLYR module (provided as download later this year).

The SAMPLYR module is of course not a hi-fi, high quality sampler module due to its 8-bit design. It has the flavour of the early samplers like EMU II, Fairlight CMI IIx, Ensoniq Mirage... The typical, recommended sample rate is 16000 Hz. these samples can be pitched up by approx. 1 1/2 octaves max.

Beyond the 8-bit resolution, the samples can be also encoded as uLaw and aLaw; in this case, the resolution is true 10 bits. For converting your existing samples, the open-source audio editor "Audacity" is great for the conversion and editing process.

Note: The SAMPLYR module is a sample player only; it doesn't offer recording of audio.

Notes: The 1-row QUICKSWAP CASE for AE Modular is the high-end case for AE Modular. It is based on a sturdy metal chassis with a beautiful matte black powder coating and - allows to plug in AE modules without any screws, which is a key feature of this case! The design makes sure that the modules sit firmly inside the case and the bus connection is established automatically by the integrated bus board, so need for the separate bus cable known from the standard AE cases. Rearranging your modular system can't be easier!

Notes: The Mutant Rimshot is a fully analogue rimshot and clave generator inspired by the rimshot found in the legendary 909 drum machine; a triple bridged-T oscillator coupled with a state variable filter. The clave sound (not a feature of the original 909 rimshot) is achieved by using just one of the oscillators.

CLV (Clave) mode uses just one of the oscillators to give you a brighter, higher percussive sound.
A switch on the back lets you select between original and extended pitch modes. Original mode can give you rimshots exactly modelling that of classic machines (in Hi mode), whereas extended mode gives a wider range of pitch, at the expense of classic accuracy.

Use the lowpass or highpass filter modes for classic sounding rimshots
Highpass and bandpass can give a wider range of clave and rimshot sounds, as well as completely different percussive elements (especially when turning the resonance up!)
VCF IN lets you blend the clave or rimshot with other sounds. Try adding some filtered noise for a more acoustic sounding rimshot, or for pseudo-snare type sounds.

Novel decay and filter mod controls

Notes: Module A-121d is a special dual multimode filter which can be used for parallel or serial organized dual mono filters. Even stereo applications are imaginable. The filters are based on two special circuits: one with highpass and bandpass outputs, the other with lowpass and bandpass outputs. It's a new filter design that is not used so far in any other A-100 filter module.

We attached great importance to the usability of the manual controls and CV inputs for dual filter applications: for the filter frequencies of both filters a common control (Frequ.) and a difference control (Delta, filter spread) are available. For both parameters even CV inputs are available (FCV, DCV). The resonance (Q1, Q2), the sensitivity of the individual frequency control input (FCV1, FCV2) and the level of the audio input (In1, In2) are adjusted by means of the individual controls for each filter.

The module has a simple audio mixing unit available with the inputs Mx1 and Mx2, and the output MxO. Provided that the mixer inputs are open bandpass 1 and bandpass 2 are normalised to the sockets Mx1 and Mx2. All other filter types are realized by connecting the other filter outputs (H1 = highpass 1, L2 = lowpass 2) to the mixer inputs.

Designed to be a highly customizable connection matrix, 3DVCA packs a boat load of utility into a small 6HP package. Four VCAs share the three macro controls: X, Y, and Z. As a group, they shape incoming and outgoing signals and emulate the coordinates of a point in 3 dimensional space. Each output has a dedicated SUM input which allows an external signal to be automatically mixed into the output signal. This allows 3DVCA to daisy chain both with other mixers and other 3DVCAs. For example, you can create a full mono, stereo, or quadraphonic mix by plugging the output of each 3DVCA into the sum inputs of the next 3DVCA in the chain. Using this method, a set of 3DVCAs can create a fully voltage controlled and decentralized mixer which ties together anything from a small skiff to a monster synth.

When 3DVCA works as a crossfader or panner, the X and Y parameters follow an equal-power curve that keep output signals at the same volume no matter how many inputs are mixed together. This is in contrast to the Z parameter which follows a linear curve to always behave predictably with external modulation sources. All inputs are fully DC coupled in order to work with modulation speed signals as well as static DC voltage sequences; this means that 3DVCA can handle any sort of signal that you throw at it. All op amps in the device employ rail-to-rail inputs and outputs to enable the largest headroom when mixing many different signals together.

Notes: The SD909 adapts the iconic TR-909 snare drum and noise generator for use in the Eurorack modular synthesizer format. Tiptop painstakingly tested the module in their lab to sound like a fresh machine coming off of the assembly line back in the 80s. On top of the original circuit, Tiptop have added new features that expand the palette of what can be produced with this analogue circuit.

The sound of the SD909 consists of two main sections: the binary noise generator and two modulated triangle oscillators. The oscillators provide the low end punch while the noise makes up the upper sonic spectrum, resulting in a combination that makes the 909 snare sound so rich. In the SD909 module, the noise generator and oscillators are variable and voltage-controllable, pushing the circuit beyond its original boundaries, offering new sounds and many variations of the original tone. The panel also has markings to guide setting the knobs to reproduce the vintage snare sound of the original machine.

Just like the other drums in this series, the SD909's high-powered output gain stage allows further enhancement of the sound through distortion and clipping. Tiptop have designed a dual pulse-shaper circuit on each gate input so you can trigger your SD909 with Trigger/Gate signals from step sequencers, clock dividers, or any other pulse/clock sources. Also, the SD909 is equipped with access to the MIXZ MixBus, matching the rest of the Tiptop line of percussive modules.

Notes: Reverse-engineered from the original machine, the BD909 is an identical recreation of the original all-analogue drum circuit of the TR-909. Tiptop have added additional controls and synthesis features that turn this classic circuit into a chest-pounding analog bass drum laboratory - all tightly packed into an 8HP module. The BD909 sound differs from the BD808 in that the main sonic energy is centered in the mid to low frequency range (as opposed to the low frequency range of the BD808). This frequency range gives the needed headroom allowing your bass lines to deeply fill up the low end while the kick drum rides on top - creating a clear and punchy mix.

The BD909 includes all the controls found in the original: Attack, Decay, Tune Decay, Accent, and Level. Tiptop have gone beyond that and added controls that further increase the palette of sound this circuit is capable of. First off, a tuning control knob has been added for the oscillator and included its own CV input and attenuator that let you tune the 909 kick with your bass lines. Next, control knobs have been added for the tuning attack and extending tuning decay. Each one affects the other, allowing for intuitive and interactive sound shaping, opening Z8000 up numerous "sweet spots" and provides the ability to center the energy peak at different parts of the sound. Finally, Tiptop have offered additional punch and distortion by giving complete control over the internal waveshaper, which allows you to overload the waveform manually or with voltage control.

Beginning with the classic and pure sound of the 909 kick, these additional functions greatly expand the BD909's flexibility and let it create powerful analogue bass drums that range from soft and smooth to punchy and aggressive - and everything in between.

Notes: Introducing the CYMBL909, part of Tiptop's new series of drum modules that brings those classic percussion sounds into the modular synth world, instantly turning your system into a self-contained music machine.

CYMBL909 is a dual voice module containing the TR-909's original Crash and Ride circuits adapted for use in Eurorack modular synthesizer format and was designed to sound like a fresh machine coming out of the assembly line back in the 80's. On top of the original, Tiptop have added some great new features that expand the sound palette of what can be produced with these two voice circuits.

The original circuits use a combination of low-fi 6-bit sound samples that pass through a series of analogue elements that provide envelope and filtering to the source sound. The CYMBL909 module adds manual and voltage control of the sample's analogue tuning section creating tones which range from heavy industrial at the low end, to the original crash/ride sound at the mid range, and bright hats-like sounds at the top end. Modulating the tune with an envelope, CV sequencer, or LFO makes interesting sound bending effects, which can be applied either in or out of sync with the triggering of the sounds.

Just like the other drums in this series, the CYMBL909 high-powered output gain stage allows you to further enhance the sound through distortion and clipping.
