Review: A dark Italo compilation not for the faint of heart with the mystery, murder and madness of all that is Giallo. Serving as a soundtrack to a fictitious film Luna Rossa Johnny Jewel of Italians Do It Better fame laces the opening with the breathy arsenic laced "Flesh" as Simple Symmetry's "Il Gatto Nero delivers a disco banger that even samples a cat's heartbeat. Legowelt creeps into lens with "Oberalp Catarsi under his Occult Orientated Crime moniker. Other suspects include Prefuse 73, Antoni Maovvi, Makeup And Vanity Set and Om & Grails member Emil Amos. Lucky dip vinyl with base transparent blood base edition with a red moon marbled rare version. QR code on label for a secret non album track! Limited Edition and will be gone by nightfall.

Review: Of all the terms here, the one used at the time was most frequently new rave and it would be an unthinkable scene without the Klaxons, so it's great to see them make the tracklist, alongside top tier like-minded acts. Bloc Party are one of the best indie bands to remix ever and the version of their best song 'Banquet' is a banger. Elsewhere, LCD Soundsystem's most catchy number 'Tribulations' is a dead cert in terms of getting people off their seats. One of the hyped bands of the era who deserve recognition are We Have Band and it's a shrewd move to include them. Electroclash heroes Fischerspooner had signed to Minsitry of Sound for L2 million around the time 'Emerge' came out and were easily one of the hottest dance acts around, and make for another cracking addition to this seriously high quality retrospective.

Review: Freestyle deliver a curate collection of overlooked UK street soul and boogie from the 80s and early 90s, with standout tracks from the label's recent 12" reissue programme. The collection houses a special mid-90s gem from Manchester's Gold In The Shade, with accompanying photos by Andrew Holligan and liners from Kevin Le Gendre. The sleeve was shot in Hackney, East London, where a vibrant street culture flourished despite the strictures of the Thatcher era. British music evolved at the same time, as larger ensembles shrank in favour of smaller groups with synths, letting boogie's smooth, bass-led sound find life. This transition, alongside the rise of street soul, budded and blossomed a uniquer blend of indie and studio projects, imprinting lastingly on the culture, now repackaged and again represented in The Way U Make Me Feel.

Review: Sic transit gloria, and thus passes the glory of the world. Madrid hatchlings Noise To Meet You present their latest compilation, channelling a sophisticated temporal-lobate taste: this label let eye and ear meet in ecstatic union, bringing a sallow, dystopian punk'd graphic identity to a doom-stricken electro palette. Temporally labile, and full of alarmist, security-breached atonalities, the likes of Dark Vektor, KafkaCtrl, Synth Alien, CRM15350, and of course DMX Krew lend noided techno subtractions to a plastic sonic playscape. The accompanying poem reads: "When it shed its skin, the geometry of time spoke to it. It then heard the light, the sound of the dream, the flow of heartbeats. It closed the last page of the book and, in that moment, it was born."

Review: Lyon musicologists Macadam Mambo allow The Jaffa Kid ampler extra space to flex their experimental side. Though prior releases by the artist have verged fuller in the direction of jungly, 'A Teq Approach' hears the artist abstract and remould their breaks and ambiances to delicious degree, mechanising but breathing new life into an otherwise mostly single-tempo approach. Off the back of an almost daily production output on Soundcloud comes this 12-track album, where gestalt breaks are heat-set, cast into all tempos; 'A Calm Momentum' recalls the best of Skee Mask after his move away from techno proper, while 'Different Text' brings a hermeneutic otherness, interpreting constellated skies of detuned arp-bliss and hoovering, soundscaped lows. A choice selection for fans of of AFX, ERP, Drexciya, u-Ziq or Luke Slater.
