Le Grand Soleil De Dieu (Psychemagik remix) (5:41)
Guinee (Turbotito edit) (6:24)
Agatha (Voilaaa remix) (6:39)
Forest Nativity (Red Axes edit) (7:00)
Review: No downloads, no streams - this one's strictly vinyl. Via Ozileka and Africa Seven, Francis Bebey Remixed invites four contemporary heads to tinker with the legacy of the late Cameroonian pioneer. Long before it was cool, Bebey folded traditional West African music into folk, funk, jazz and drum machines, shaping a sound that echoed far beyond his lifetime. Now A7 Edits hands the reels to Psychemagik, Turbotito, Voilaaa and Red Axes, whose rerubs range from dubbed-out psych to Afro-disco and woozy house. It's less a greatest-hits package, more a respectful twist on classics by producers with deep crates and good ears; only one extra mix from Josh Ludlow lands digital-only, but the rest is locked to wax.

Fiya (7:16)
Love Hangover (6:36)
Review: Like his Windy City compatriots Mark Grusane and Rahan, Cratebug specialises in high-grade, razor-and-tape style re-edits subtly re-framed for 21st century dancefloors. The Chicagoan has released many fine collections of reworks over the last decade and this two-tracker is another high-grade treat. Up first is 'Fiyah', a heavyweight tease-and-release loop jam built around low-slung disco grooves, layered vocal samples and subtle effects trickery. While he appears not to have add any beats, its' Soundstream-esque construction makes it perfectly suited to house dancefloors. Over on the flip, he gives his take on one of the most beloved disco classics of all time: Diana Ross's incredible 'Love Hangover'. He extends the upbeat sections, paying more attention to hear vocalisations, the infectious instrumentation and killer groove.

Crazy P - "Disc Odyssey" (remix) (6:09)
Inland Knights - "Overnight" (6:31)
Inland Knights - "Walk On" (6:55)
Inland Knights - "Do It Again" (6:15)
Review: REPRESS ALERT!: Drop Music marks a marvellous quarter of a century of releases with this new slab of vinyl featuring some gems from disco funksters Crazy P and the house mainstays Inland Knights. Crazy P go first with 'Disc Odyssey' which is perfectly indicative of their much beloved sound with its low slung kicks and funky bassline. Inland Knights then offer a trio of in demand & unreleased tracks. 'Overnight' is a bumming deep house joint, 'Walk On' has an icy late night vibe and balmy pads and 'Do It Again is a more playful closer, with some killer b-line action. All four, needless to say, are timeless gems, and the fact the last two are appearing on vinyl first the first time makes it an even more desirable cop.

Das Komplex - "Pajda Banana" (8:10)
Ubre Blanca - "Renzo" (6:45)
Gregory (AT) - "Peaks" (feat Alexander Wirth) (6:34)
Kelton Prima - "Strawberry Cream" (6:13)
Review: Since launching three years ago, Luv Shack Records' 'Disco Biscuits' series has become a reliable and popular source of quality club cuts that frequently blur the boundaries between house and nu-disco. The series sixth missive (and first outing of 2025) begins with 'Padja Banana', an acid-fired, delay-laden psychedelic nu-disco chugger laden with attractive synth sounds and 16-bit electronics. Label newcomer Ubre Blanca steps up next with 'Renzo', an authentic tribute to mid 1980s Italo-disco, before Austrian producer Gregory joins forces with Alexander Wirth on the synth-laden deep house hustle of 'Peaks'. To round off another inspired EP, Kelton Prima opts for a warmer and more sample-rich take on the same hybrid nu-disco/deep house sound ('Strawberry Cream').

Chez Madame La Baronne (Grosse Bite version) (3:21)
Chez Madame La Baronne (Sac Plain version) (6:54)
Chez Madame La Baronne (Sac Vide version) (1:55)
Review: Back in 2023, Parisian jazz-funk-meets-disco outfit Chatobaron partnered with 21st century disco icon Dimitri From Paris on the superb 'Chez Madame La Baronne'. At the time, the Idjut Boys were called in to remix it, but only one of their suite of takes was released. Hence this killer four-tracker on their own Bite The Day label. It's typical of the long-serving duo's wild, wonderful and frequently deliciously dubbed-out work. While the opening 'Le Fouet version' is a rolling, spacey, sun-splashed and only lightly dubby dancefloor excursion, the mix which follows - the 'Grosse Bite version' - is a wonderfully trippy, percussion-rich drum dub smothered in tape delay and space echo; in other words, a classic Idjuts interpretation. Over on the reverse, the 'Sac Plain' version is a proper Idjuts dub that flits between spacey drop-outs and extended groove sections, while the closing 'Sac Vide version' is a sunrise-ready ambient delight.

Spring Touch EP

Spring Touch (6:09)
Diana's Loop (5:00)
Reggatonic (4:36)
Review: Take It Easy! We need more taglines like these in such trying and self-recriminatory times, where the stresses of a part-imagined urgency prevent us from decompressing in the way our social lives really should allow for. But is dance music, whose traditional motto is to "jack", compatible with such a mantra? DJLMP shatters these apparent antinomies of relaxation and danceability with three new edited heaters here, designed for triumphant joie de vives of the kind that do not poke, prod or demand too much from us. A later Diana Ross sample is put on heavy opening rotation on 'Diana's Loop', while similarly echoic verboffs are exchanged on 'Spring Touch', where dub delays haze the mix into something a little more convulsive. Space for wonky downtime is reserved on the B's 'Reggatronic', in a rare case of hip, lo-fi breathing room reserved for a dance record.

Chesty Lady Of The West (5:42)
Review: Medicine Music offer us a remedy, but not a cure, for a chronic ailment of ours: for some reason we simply cannot shake the compulsion to seek out disco edits in quadruply combined pill form. The second volume in Dr. Packer's own reworks series, this new'un follows the first edition released far back in 2017. 'Hint Of Love' and 'Watch Your Back' span nouveau riche falsettos and dirt-caked soul baritones respectively, proving the polyphonic potential of disco's voices despite the unknowability of the samples so sourced. 'Chesty Lady Of The West' is meanwhile the perkiest tune on the record, curling through a minimal, backwashy sound, where guitars soar gleefully in a surfy space above the 10th fret.

Don't Give Up
Makin' Love
Get On Down
Review: Exaggerated disco ecstasies from Domenico Niki and his Echoes From Disco label, which accepts its mission to recall the lost gems of disco, boogie, and jazz by way of thoughtful re-edits. This latest one is a glamorous slab of Day-Glo disco gaud. 'Let's Get It On' opens with splendid flair, with twang guitars, talkbox tremolos and disco girl backing singer ad-libs, before 'Don't Give Up' follows with a deep-fried P-funk prance replete with transitory glissando. 'Makin' Love' and 'Get On Down' hear the EP wind down the pace, the latter track ending on an obscure edit of Suzy & Chas' Belgian 1978 rouser, 'Man I Dig Music'.

Aphect (8:13)
Bphect (6:37)
Cphect (7:19)
Dphect (3:35)
Review: The enigmatic Florence series continues with a varied collection of dance-focused cuts. The looped-up 'Aphect' features haunting vocals transcending pulsing chords, snappy drums, and deep bass, while the familiar disco flex of 'Bphect' features a beefed-up edit of Melba Moore's classic 'Pick Me Up, I'll Dance'. Crisp rhythms power more wigged-out vocals on the stripped-but-sturdy 'Cphect', before the showstopper 'Dphect' features a boldly tongue-in-cheek (or playful, depending on how you look at it) house version of The Shadows' 'My Blue Heaven,' with Cliff's honeyed vocal spliced over bumping drums. Bags of fun.

Review: Dancin' The Mambo (The Reflex Revision) grooves with infectious disco energy, seamlessly blending Chic-esque rhythms with early piano house vibes. The Reflex's revision injects new life into this 1980 gem, maintaining its French flair while adding modern twists. As well as the dance version, this release also features four fresh remixes by A.P. Mono, Electro Potato, Bellatrix, and Chris van Buren. Review: The late great Ron Hardy had as much influence on DJing and club culture as anyone before or since. It's not just what he played, but how he played it that set the standard from his legendary residency at the Music Box - not least the fact that he often had the highs squealing out of his system because they were the frequencies that had most impact on him while he was high on heroin. His productions all reflect his approach in the booth, and this latest collection of classics is back with rising disco, rawness, low-slung funk and high-speed, feel-good disco bliss.

Waiting For The Sun (acappella) (1:45)
Waiting For The Sun (Sunset dub) (5:49)
Waiting For The Sun (Sunrise reprise) (3:04)
Review: Scottish veteran Hifi Sean - once, in an ancient time, frontman of indie stars The Soup Dragons - doesn't really do half-measures. 'Waiting for the Sun' is his first 12" since rinsing out the Fire Island remix in 2021, and it lands somewhere between gospel house uplift and morning-after clarity. The original version doesn't hold back - full-bodied keys, layered vocals, and a central hook that sounds like it came to him mid-dog walk, which, in fairness, it did. It could have collapsed under its own optimism, but somehow doesn't. The acapella confirms just how tightly constructed the vocal work is - stacked, reverent, and stubbornly catchy. 'Sunset Dub' dials things down without losing shape, keeping the bassline intact while pulling most of the colour. 'Sunrise Reprise' nudges things into the kind of end-of-night territory where no one's really dancing anymore but still doesn't want to leave. Not a reinvention, but a sharp, self-contained reminder that Hifi Sean knows exactly what his lane is - and how to drive directly through it at golden hour.

Destiny (5:16)
Review: Hailed by RA as a "true connoisseur of music" - and so far with a spectacular trail of festival appearances behind them, apparent between Ireland, New York and Vienna - Island Times Deejay has kept up a staggering career so far. His new EP now drops as an inevitable testament to his ability not just to select but craft and cut grooves of his own; the lead track works through an untraceable disco source sample of fiendishly obscure proportions, despite its brilliant hookline: "set your mind free, you can't fight it, you'll be delighted, destiny". The A-sider is equally obscure, though it sounds to be quite a loyal and forgiving redo of an equally graded disco-soul crooner, awash in lyrical reminders of the operant genre: "disco!"

The Joneses - "Love Contest" (Dave Lee extended Disco mix) (8:53)
Street People - "I Wanna Get Over" (Cosmodelica remix) (7:53)
Review: This second instalment in the Spring Revisited seriesia collaboration between Acid Jazz and Ace Recordsioffers two expertly handled edits from across the Atlantic rooted in the fertile legacy of 70s New York soul. London's modern disco institution Dave Lee reinvents The Joneses' 'Love Contest' with his trademark finesse, giving the track a full-bodied groove-up without losing its bittersweet heart. The strings soar, the rhythm section locks tight, and Lee's decades-deep knowledge of disco and boogie shines through in every detail. On the flip, New York-based Coleen 'Cosmo' Murphy brings lush new life to Street People's 'I Wanna Get Over'. With sun-drenched keys, crisp hand percussion and subtle delays, she transforms heartache into late-night liberation. Both sides feel like love letters from DJ to danceflooriclassic soul refracted through contemporary ears, pressed on wax that looks and feels like it just time-travelled from 1979.

Review: NYC Records admits that they've always been inspired by the legacy of David Mancuso and his iconic Loft parties-visionary invite-only gatherings in NYC that helped shape the very foundation of dance music culture. From the early 70s through the 2000s, these private events in Lower Manhattan were all about community, high-fidelity sound and deep musical connection. As a heartfelt tribute to that spirit, they present 'Friendly Movement,' a composition that channels the warmth, openness and groove that made The Loft such a special place. This one's for the dancers, the dreamers and everyone who believes music is meant to bring us closer together.

Review: French producer KX9000 is back with an electrifying EP that fuses electro-funk, space disco, Chicago house and broken beat into a superb new trip. While collaborating with the likes of Nic Hanson, Corsica One and others, KX9000 balances dancefloor drive with intricate detail throughout. Highlights include the dubby disco pulse of 'Tonight's Ride,' jazzy textures on 'Nuova Zone' and retro-futurist grooves on 'Lost E Shop.' 'Over Fee' offers some soulful depth, while closer 'Deepose Minute' channels classic deep house with modern flair. A standout in his catalogue, this could be KX9000's most refined and emotionally rich work to date.

The EP picks a seriously punch with tracks like Leslie Lello's 'R U Doing' (De Gama Re-Groove), a bass-driven house anthem with soaring synths, Frank Virgilio's 'Juice,' a fusion of acid basslines, organ stabs and tribal vocals, and Javi Frias's 'The Big Dance,' which is an electrifying track with bongos, laser beams and a disco bassline that delivers exactly what its title promises.

ANGELORO. Giuseppe - "A Night Among The Trees" (5:42)
ANGELORO. Giuseppe - "Mind Trip" (6:10)
Review: Two rising names from Italy's electronic underground arrive on Florence's Bosconi Records, splitting a 12" that moves from dense club energy to fogged-out euphoria. On the A-side, Roberto Manolio (past appearances on Nugs On Board and Musek Records) pushes into crunchier terrain: 'Deeply Red' is a tough UK-influenced thumper with chunky low-end and echo-streaked chords, punctuated by a disembodied Russian vocal that evokes retro-futurist isolation. 'Machine City Road' goes in heavier still, all serrated synths and scabby signal paths. Flip it and Giuseppe Angeloro (known from Havalon and Polarity) brightens the palette with 'A Night Among The Trees', full of cascading arps and widescreen drama filtered through Italo romanticism. 'Mind Trip' ends the EP on a floatier note, drifting in reverberant pads.

Review: Disruptive Chicago house rule breaker and revered noise mangler Hieroglyphic Being aka Jamal Moss is back with more of his suitably entitled Weirdo Edits. The seventh volume dives headfirst into deranged disco territory and channels the frazzled, unpredictable energy of Ron Hardy's iconic Muzic Box tape edits across three heavily warped cuts built for dancefloor chaos. Moss leans into the lo-fi grit and psychedelic swirl he's known for on the hard-edge disco stomp of 'I'm Gonna Beat U This Way', then flips vintage grooves into a hypnotic, otherworldly club tool on 'Get Off Blast Off '. It's freaky, jacking, and unmistakably Jamal and then comes 'Clouds On The Rain.' off-kilter funk for heads who like their disco weird, raw, and full of soul.

Review: Disco Mind founder and Italian mainstay Paul Older and Melbourne's Brother Julian are back with a second volume of the AMBO series after the first one did so well to launch this label last year. Older's 'Keep Dancing' is an electric and peak-time disco cut with string stabs and hard-hitting drums that sweep you off your feet in an instant. From opening piano house illuminations ('It's Too Dark'), bringing a vocal sample-heavy, Strictly Rhythm steeze, through to 'It's Over', a baritone jackin' soul uplifter of a bittersweet tonality, we're impressed from the jump. 'Gimme Your Thang' is a low-slung opener with a filthy bassline and James Brown samples bringing it to life. Blending Hi-NRG, Italo disco and bold 80s synth hooks, Synthesizer Hits III dazzles with loveable retro-futurist flair. The opener 'Fumare' is pure dancefloor drama with rasping beats and arpeggios lit up by euphoric surges. He delivers typically vibrant, soulful covers of tracks from Matt Soulie's vinyl vault, including P.J. City's 'Straight Forward,' Franklyn's 'Future Love' and Star Lighters' "Disco Funk.' The EP also features standout remixes and Gerd's remix in particular is gold and infuses a Chicago house flavour, while the UK's former Wild Bunch man DJ Nature adds a synth-laced, bass-driven groove and Aroop Roy delivers a dancefloor-ready anthem. These are the sort of authentic, lovably rough-around-the-edges sounds that bring real heat to headier floors.

Keep It Burnin (5:50)
Review: Micky More & Andy Tee's Groove Culture hits the notable milestone of 30 releases with another healthy dose of funky disco fun. Stepping up for this one is Shabi, a new name emerging from Berlin with a sound that defies the city's usual techno moodiness. 'Get Up' rides on big loopy drums with silky chords adding colour to clipped vocals and noodling baselines. 'Dream Funky' is another bouncy jam peppered with diva cries and horns, 'Ghetto Beatz' lands a little more heavy with with plenty of ass-wiggling groove and 'Keep It Burnin' rolls deep with sustained chords and plenty of big licks to energise any party.

Love Theme (8:09)
Amigo De Nova York (6:30)
Love Fever (7:14)
Tokyo Fantasy (6:01)
Review: German scalpel specialist Daniel 'SIRS' Klein rides in with a quartet of typically refined edits here, each track fit for discerning floors thanks to some gentle tucks and studio finesse. The bittersweet soul of 'Love Theme' is one for the lovers out there, with its emotive vocal, dramatic strings and heavy groove, while the tropical disco flex of 'Amigo Da Nova York' is built for peak-time floors, with stirring horns, sexed-up vocals and limber percussion. The gloriously camp 'Love Fever' continues the driving tempo, before closing jam 'Tokyo Fantasy' lifts the roof all the way off, with its impassioned singalong chorus and irrepressible groove.

Trollkraft (6:15)
One Night In Geilo (7:25)
Review: Skatebard and Lauer are Trollkraft, a sure-to-be iconic Norwegian-German partnership that has a famous love of synths and have already put out vast reserves of quality sounds across various styles. Here their collaboration gives rise to a pair of electrifying cuts. The title track features rich drum layers, lush strings and a throbbing bass undercurrent which has elements of disco, house, indie and Italo all adding to its charm. 'One Night In Geilo' channels 90s house rhythms with a brilliant two-stepping melody that smartly reimagines rave with playful, effervescent energy. These two wizards bring great character to this music with strobe lights, bongos, and trance all making for a full on heart-of-the-party experience doused in euphoria.

Review: SOULSIMMER & ALVARO is brand new duo about which we know very little other than they are selectors with many years of experience. They have been charged with serving up the debut 12" from new imprint RE-DISCO-VER and do so in a way that signifies it's going to be a label worth keeping an eye on. Drawing from years of spinning obscure gems at intimate private gatherings, the duo now channels their sensibilities into a love letter to dusty grooves and forgotten dancefloor magic that is newly reworked and reimagined. All four cuts tap into golden era disco with cosmic wandering synths and some lovely live drumming, synth solos and proper vocals that burn with great soul intensity.

Forever & A Day (5:52)
Forever & Two Days (7:00)
Review: First dropped in 1985 on Italy's London Records Production, Superbowl aka 93rd Superbow is a high-energy Italo disco project from producers Gianfranco Bortolotti and Roberto Arduini. With its pounding basslines and vibrant synths unfurling into infectious melodies, this is the sort of tune that embodies the quintessential 80s Italian club sound-catchy, bright and built for the 'floor. This reissue stays true to the original with both 'Forever and a Day' on the A-side and its full vocal dub version, 'Forever and Two Days,' on the flip. It's a real piece of quality and authentic Italo magic that still hits the spot.

Review: Vintage Pleasure Boutique is bringing back a Eurobeat classic in Kim Taylor's iconic 'Say You'll Be Mine,' which was originally produced by Rob Van Eijk in 1987. This high-energy banger helped shape the Euro disco sound and became a cult anthem in LGBTQ+ club scenes across the US of A as well as in Japan. Everlasting version feature here from radio mixes to instrumentals, while remixes by Electro Potato, Chris Van Buren, A.P. Mono and Albiero alongside a rare 1988 remix all make this a vital 12" for fans of camp and colourful disco.

Golden Era (6:45)
Luv Walkin' (6:33)
Mimes (4:49)
Review: At A Glance Records is a sister label to Small Great Things and made a fine start to life with its first EP. This second one comes from Belgian producer UC Beatz who has proven himself adept at emotive textures and groove-driven disco-house. He shows that again with a deep, soulful offering with immersive storytelling as well as dance floor heft. There are loose limbed rhythms on 'Life Of A Painter', shiny disco loops on 'Life Of A Painter' and romantic vibes to the summery 'Luv Walkin''. 'Mimes' shuts down with some chunky drums, screwed synths and chopped vocals.

All Night (feat MILK - extended) (4:55)
Review: The easy-to-love disco deviant and French music producer and remixer Yuksek makes a triumphant return to the evergreen Razor-N-Tape here with three cuts of fresh, original groove goodness. 'She's Mine' opens with driving percussion and an Italo-style bassline that is going to ensure take off in any setting, not least cause it's elevated by lush piano chords and yearning vocals that recall indie disco's golden days. The title track was made in cahoots with Brazilian producer Diogo Strausz and adds tropical flair and vibrant groove, while 'All Night' closes the EP with a playful, French-touch-inspired vocal loop and lashings of persuasive energy. With crisp production and ear-catching hooks throughout, Deja Vous is the right amount of nostalgic fun and forward-thinking invention.
