Now bringing their distinctive cataloguing system to the discographic vanitas Mord, four more 'AT' tracks make for an irresistibly well-layered, synthetically one-of-a-kind release. Only 'AT4' gets a subtitle, 'The Sleepwalker', where a sandman's slumbrous, lollygaggling beats somehow, at the same time, betray a subconscious, paradoxical restlessness.

An international splinter cell of spec-ops and mercenaries are recalled from retirement here, as we hear Calagad 13, Nachtwald, EC13 and many more mechanoid ilk lay down all manner of slick utilities, making up a morbid multi-tool. 5zyl brings further lasery Lithuanian steeze on 'Vilnius Bass', whilst Spectrums Data Forces betrays the existence of a sinister corporate entity, whose business model works towards the object of instilling 'Darkness In My Head' through giant, killer mozzy basses.

Here he returns to the Moving Pictures label with another new electro and techno exploration full of his trademark sound designs and high-speed grooves. 'Climax' opens with deep, dobby drums and fizzing static that snakes around the mix while chords bring melancholy and 'Remind Me Pls' twitches with acid deftness and more optimistic chords. Moving Pictures founders Roman Rai and Taino step up with their own remixes. The former flips 'Climax' into deep space trip with lush layers of silky synths and emotive breakdown,s then Taino reconfigures it as a hot stepping house cut with choral vocal swirls and a rubbery bassline that brings the bounce.

After five vaporwave-tinged, reality-bending debut EPs from the likes of Ikeaboy and Power, they now present their very first selectors V/A EP on a gooey green wax edition. It's quite the assembly of Eireann techno royalty, with a host of seasoned players lead by probably the country's most esteemed DJ, Sunil Sharpe, as well as Kerrie and Wexford's Lee Holman. Quality is, naturally, at a consistently high label - with closer 'Phase-One' proving an especially computational, objectivist, mad, pitiless track.

Review: Urgent electro from adept producer and DJ Munir Nadir. His third outing for a new favourite label, the Italian outfit Odd One Tape, this sawtooth croaker is an especially squelchy dance record, drawing on tail ends of minimal techno and noughts electro house, and with perhaps a tad of skweee thrown in too. 'Give Me A Second' and 'Paratoxical' use conspicuous reverb tails and flex-gurgled vocals to spoken and spelt-out effect, while the B-side's 'Sniper' is as wilfully minimal and baleful as it gets, working in a monster of a ghostly vocal underbeat. Finally, 'Flying Ladder' rounds off on a matchingly minimal euphorizer in the 4x4 vein.

Review: Swayzak is a micro house, minimal and techno duo, aka James S Taylor and David Brown from the UK, whose name alone will get many older dancers hot under the collar. Their craft was second to none during their peak and here we get a reminder of that with a new outing on Rawax. 'Floyd' is a jazzy dancer with live claps, spinning hi-hats and louche grooves all topped with synthetic synths that never quit. 'Doobie' is a more deep sound with late-night headsy vibes. The drums are supple, the synths squeal and spoken word mutterings add a human touch. Two well-realised and effective cuts from Swayzak.

Review: Djrum (Felix Manuel) presents his latest full album in six years, in what has been described as a "literal creative rebirth". Beginning in earnest in the 2020 COVID lockdown, this a record whose creation treads a path of almost archetypal infamy: all the best electronica albums, in our view, are born of hard-drive losses. And Djrum's hard-drive meltdown, of course, seemed to correspond to a literal collapse and renewal; such ostensible catastrophes are painful at first, but they tend to breed re-incarnal transformations. Reflecting in the shaking disaster-piece stutters of 'Three Foxes Chasing Each Other' to the ambi-spatially adept 'A Tune For Us', the record spans prodigious instrumentality and electronica abstractions, verging on speedcore, jazz and techno-halftime in places. Go Fuck Yourself goes with the epic synopsis of a sordid culinary horror: our deuteragonists Fish and Rice once again must defeat the tyrannical lord Pink Fist using stolen weapons-grade audio care packages, hacked from the data banks of Iron Prime (we can only guess what this means, exactly). Edacious in theme, this is an erratic, (sea) bass dropper of an LP, with not a single given eff in sight. 'Fish Ramen Gabba', 'Rice-Fish' and 'Do You Cook' serve poisson poisons of hardcore tok kicks and citrusy supersaw sound design, causing our faces to scrunch up in olfactory delight.

Review: With A Real Piece Of Work, Stillhead helps Brightest Dark Place reach into the "hazy, blurred overlap between techno and ambient", throwing a suspension chord between two bluffs over a vast sonic chasm, and letting terse rhythms monkey-swing across it, letting reverb bellow from below. This is an equally dynamic but intense listening experience, proving that vast, chasmic sound design need not chafe against dynamic buoyancy: the two can coexist. Keeping to about 170BPM, the Edinburgh DJ marks his sixth release here, and it is an impressive logical extension from 2022's comparable mission statement Restraint And Reverb: 'The Red Ball' suspends a sampled 'Funky Drummer' over an atoll of sub compulsions, while 'A Light Thump On The Head' stretches a classic future garage rhythm over a telegraphic void, with dispersive, long-decaying results.

Review: Based in the UK, Timothy J Fairplay has long dwelled in the murkier corners of dance music — his work shaped by EBM, industrial, electro, and the long shadow of post-punk. A sometime collaborator with Andrew Weatherall and a fixture of the darker fringes, he returns with a new four-tracker that leans into slow-motion propulsion and paranoid atmosphere. ‘Home Visitor’ opens with a creeping unease, its syncopated kick and glassy pads suggesting something between a horror OST and a strobelit basement. ‘Melt The Chains’ is denser, grubbier — all scorched textures and pummelling snares — while ‘Runs Every 15 Minutes’ stalks forward like clockwork, driven by squelching synths and faintly psychedelic drum programming. Belgian producer DC Salas closes the set with a remix that lifts the original out of the gloom and into something more fluid and cosmic, adding a taut groove while preserving its hallucinatory core. As with much of Fairplay’s catalogue, this isn’t club music in the conventional sense — it’s nocturnal, suggestive, and oddly transportive, like a lost radio transmission from the underworld.

Review: Detroit’s Robert Hood returns to vinyl with a techno triptych that distils his vision into something sharp, agile and impossibly refined. Though long synonymous with minimalism, he hasn’t sounded this raw in years—‘Art Form’ arrives like a jolt, all jacking 909s and acidic flickers that feel urgent and alive. It’s his first straight techno release since 2024, and it pulses with a kind of stripped-down euphoria, framed by Hood’s ear for clean lines and stark rhythmic discipline. ‘Art Class’ deepens the tone, winding through heavier acid modulations that buzz beneath a more spacious arrangement, less confrontational but just as potent. On the B-side, ‘Art School’ leans into the cinematic mode, pairing sci-fi synth washes with grinding low-end pressure, rolling somewhere between introspection and propulsion. Though the tracks first landed digitally earlier this year, hearing them sequenced here offers a deeper read into Hood’s blueprint—acid as method, groove as design. In his own words, M-Plant is about “only what is essential”, and these three cuts prove just how much feeling can be encoded in that minimal frame. Review: This blistering four-track compilation from a Greek techno label Analogue, delivers a no-frills, high-impact set of weapons designed for dark rooms and peak-time chaos. Hector Oaks opens with 'Formal Basica', a tribal techno bruiser built on relentless percussion and searing momentum. This is pure machine funk with a primal edge. Obscure Shape follows with “'My Muse Is On Vacation'. a grinding, loopy hard techno cut that broods and boils with menace, pushing the tension without ever losing focus. Review: Spain-based ORBE returns to his own label with more of his deep-burrowing and linear techno excellence. These are the sort of sounds that warp space and time and leave you utterly dissociated from reality. 'Hypernova' gets under way in an urgent hurry with wispy synths and fizzing static marbled the lumpy kicks. 'Echo Drift' takes on a more cosmic quality as it journeys through the cosmos into the unknown as various sci-fi signifiers drift by. That theme continues on the Millsian 'Halo' and possibly the best is saved until last with 'Infinite Flux' bringing some psychedelic synth twists to jacked up drums.

Review: There's a raw, no-nonsense energy running through this release from the Florence-based producer, who continues to sharpen his sound on his own Sublunar label. It’s a record that doesn’t bother with pleasantries and instead goes straight for the gut, full of tight programming and tension you can feel in your chest. The opener, 'No More Time', wastes none of it. Heavy rhythms hit like a warning shot, pushing things toward a peak that feels both forceful and controlled. It’s big-room material, but not bloated. It's precise, aggressive and locked-in. 'Near The Bar' follows with a more shadowy approach, sliding into tribal patterns and murky textures. The groove works just beneath the surface, subtle but with a pulse strong enough to carry a floor. Side-B digs in even further. 'Two Letters' builds around percussive momentum and clipped patterns, keeping everything tightly wound. Then 'Hit & Run' lands with a different kind of pressure. There's a ghostly melodic thread running through its stripped-down warehouse rhythms, nodding to early underground techno but with a modern polish. It’s lean, effective, and full of character. Four tracks with their own direction but united by purpose and clarity.
