Brother Love (6:18)
Brother Love (instrumental) (6:15)
Review: Another Channel's collaboration with Prince Morella on Freund Der Familie Records delivers a stunning dive into deep dub. 'Brother Love' blends a vintage dub aesthetic with a spiritual spoken-word message from Morella, creating a deeply immersive atmosphere. The production masterfully balances warm, chord-focused techno elements with the timeless depth of dub rhythms, resulting in a track that feels both classic and forward-thinking. On the flip side, the instrumental version strips away the vocals, letting the dub-infused textures and hypnotic beats take center stage. The absence of the message emphasises the track's spacious production and rhythmic pulse, making it a perfect tool for introspective listening or adventurous DJ sets. A stellar release that showcases the synergy between dub's roots and techno's evolution.

9 1391919 21 (4:36)
17151425 (4:57)
Review: Delivering two boundary-pushing deep house cuts that fuse Detroit influences with global rhythmic elements, this little 7" packs a punch. Side-1's '9 1391919 21' rolls in with deep bass and a laid-back yet funky groove. The Detroit foundation is undeniable, but the infusion of world-inspired instrumentation adds a rich, cultural texture, making it both smooth and dynamic. Flipping over, '17151425' shifts into high gear with an uptempo, warehouse-ready energy. Sci-fi atmospheres swirl around tribal drumming, creating a hypnotic, alien-like rhythm that feels raw yet futuristic. A forward-thinking release from a producer deeply connected to both underground traditions and global sounds.

Night Out (feat Roger Robinson) (3:55)
Review: Polish label Moonshine Recordings kicks off a new series that is helmed for the first time by Bukkha. It's a potent two tracker that opens with 'Planet I-N-I' which is a heavily dubbed out cut with bottomless subs and ice cold hits, tons of reverb and ricochetting sounds as well as some dub-wise vocals that drift in and out to heady effect. On the flip side is 'Night Out' (feat Roger Robinson), another smooth, serene and hypnotic dub techno cut marbled with static and vinyl crackle as well as some pensive words from Robinson. Both of these need to be heard as loud as can be for maximum impact.

Transition Env
Review: Glenn Astro welcomes Doc Sleep and Delta Rain Dance to his pleasingly unusual and hard-to-pigeonhole Hypno Discs imprint. The selection of tracks they've delivered are pleasingly hazy and immersive, fixing new age and Balearic-minded sounds to deep basslines, dubby textures and mutilated UK bass style rhythms. Check first enveloping opener 'Virta Chords', where reverb-laden kalimba and marimba style melodies and dirt-encrusted ambient textures wrap around a rubbery post-dubstep beat and weighty sub-bass, before admiring the mutant experimental d&b flex of 'Speed (Dub)' - a pleasingly skittish and mind-altering concoction. Things simmer down to an eyes-closed crawl on side B, where the deeply attractive and sample-heavy 'Transition Env' delivers a densely layered ambient soundscape of the sort Rod Modell knocks out in his sleep.

Mystical Dub (2:48)
Review: Jamie McCue, who is behind the classic Silent Season label, steps out here with a new label called Moon Garden. Hidden Sequence inaugurate it with a limited edition 7" that sets a great standard from the off. 'Studio A' is a liquid dub with delicate hi-hats sprinkled over loose, tumbling drums and rich sub-bass. It's vast in sauce and impossible not to sink into. 'Mystical Dub' on the B-side is an even more paired back ambient dub with a barely-there rhythm slowly unfolding beneath conscious mutterings and distant, muted melodies. It's late-night weed music of the highest order.

Abbadia (4:12)
Review: ZamZam is hurtling towards its milestone 100th release but first it turns to enigmatic French producer Hiss Is Bliss. Both sides of this new 12" aim squarely at the dancefloor. 'Nope' opens up as a perfect dub techno exploration with driving 808 kicks and synth swirls that paint cosmic colours in the space above. Ras Lys' vocal adds a hint of dread while the B-side cut 'Abbadia' is stripped right back to the bare bones and still makes a mark. The pads are distorted as the shimmer above the rhythm and lock you into a mindful state. This one has been limited to just 800 copies so do not sleep.

Review: J A returns is back on Rubber with a typically mesmerising collaboration featuring minimal techno luminary Donato Dozzy. The trio of Andrea Noce, Jonida Prifti and Dozzy all craft a ritualistic fusion of pagan-folk mixed with some contemporary club sensibilities here as Dozzy's intricate rhythms interlace with Prifti and Noce's haunting vocal layers. It's the sort of absorbing tapestry that is both hypnotic and ceremonial, with a standout title track that serves as a bass-heavy homage to sound system culture but laced with spectral whispers and fractured textures. As a luminous experiment in voice, rhythm and the hazy space between body music and mysticism, this is essential.

Be Fearless In The Pursuit Of What Sets Ur Soul On Fire (5:32)
Review: The always busy Jamal Moss has released his latest 'It Is My Fault - My Fault Alone,' a powerful acid techno track, characterised by its heavy analog sounds and a relentless barrage of sonic cataclysms. This track is a head-turner, with an intensity that grips the listener from start to finish. On Side-2, 'Be Fearless In The Pursuit Of What Sets Ur Soul On Fire,' Moss shifts gears to deliver a high-speed Detroit-inspired techno piece. The track maintains a futuristic yet melodic hook, making it an exhilarating listen. Its driving 4-on-the-floor beat ensures it remains grounded in the dance floor tradition. Together, these tracks make for a deadly 7" record that highlights Moss's versatility and expertise in the genre.
Released on the reputable Modern Love label, this record packs a punch!

Self Hypnosis (unreleased mix) (5:33)
Silicon (live) (4:12)
Review: Don't forget to put on your Anorax... A new retro-futuristic outing by veteran dance music exec Neil Rushton marks his latest configuration in techno, which has kept mutant ever since the DJ broke from his infamous, 1970s Northern soul label Inferno. If Inferno was a glittery bodysuit, Anorax is like blast-protective PPE. Here Rushton welcomes Mark Archer and Chris Peat aka Nexus 21 back to the fold. Emissaries of the Salford dance music circuit, Nexus 21 have always harked a frontier-scouring, centennial vibe in sound. Their latest release is reissued from 2008, though the Network Records original only cut it to B-side: 'Self-Hypnosis' is a semiconscious auto-state in sound, bringing jam-born orchestra-stabs and sprung synth toms to a strange brew. We're left spiral-eyed.

Review: Nikolajev is an original pioneer of Tallinn's techno scene. He is back here on the Sad Fun label with two more of his bass-driven dance floor delights. First up is 'Lego Dub' which has no sharp edges and just silky synths, rolling drums and flanged up sounds that swell with warming intensity. On the flip side is 'Tongue Double' which slows things down and brings a little sense of funk next to some playful synth lines that wiggle about the mix and are underpinned by true low end menace, perfect for maximum volume on a sound system.

Ryzeen (Super Locomotive version) (4:35)
Review: In March 2024, Oriental Magnetic Yellow, the legendary techno unit formed by Namco game music composers, celebrated their 30th anniversary by re-releasing six albums. As part of this celebration, their popular track 'RYZEEN' is now available for the first time on 7-inch doughnut vinyl. The release includes the original version and a special B-side recording used as BGM for 'Super Locomotive' on Sega's 2022 reissued Mega Drive Mini 2 console. With members Hiroto Sasaki, Nobuyoshi Sano, Shinji Hosoe and Takayuki Aihara, Oriental Magnetic Yellow pays homage to Yellow Magic Orchestra with a humorous twist. 'RYZEEN' evokes the fun, nostalgic, early video game music and a cover sound of YMO of course. this release is a delightful blend of retro charm and playful innovation, perfect for techno and game music fan alike.

Territorial Discrepancy
Notions Of Ceremony
Review: Two distinctive tracks that balance industrial and techno grit and dancefloor energy. Side-1's 'Territorial Discrepancy' kicks things off with a driving beat layered over EBM influences and rave-inspired keyboard stabs. Its catchy rhythm and raw energy make it a surefire crowd-pleaser for peak-time sets. On Side-2, 'Notions Of Ceremony' takes a more experimental turn, blending techno grooves with a danceable, vocal-infused vibe. The track's unique character evokes comparisons to early Severed Heads and Underworld, combining fun, depth and innovation into a seamless whole. With its sharp production and bold creativity, this ia memorable addition to the techno landscape.

Review: The all-star team of the instrumental world, Polyplus, release a cover of 'Hi-Tech Jazz', a classic electronic jazz track and representative work of the project Galaxy 2 Galaxy, first put forth by Mad Mike's Underground Resistance. As for the choice of cover, the Tokyo jazzdance quartet have chosen well; while they've only gone and done it - reinterpreted Mike's timeless club masterpiece with a full band sound - they refuse to sacrifice any danceability or DJ mixability, doing full justice to the term "hi-tech" despite the freehanded naturalism. Also coming backed by the original B-sider 'Wake Me Up', 'Hi-Tech Jazz' heralds Polyplus' upcoming tenth anniversary album, Cosmic, as well as a jet-setting tour spanning Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka.

Track 1 (4:02)
Review: Scott Grooves is one of the quietly brilliant home artists. The US talent has done it all in his time and brings plenty of musicality to his work, which is mostly couched in-house but for this one-sided and limited edition 7" heads off into techno territory. 'Track 1' is a blistering cut with coarse hits and smeared pads all turbo-powered by some driving drums that are deep but direct. There is a great sense of machine soul to the synths that helps take it even further into the next dimension. Another vital release from this mainstay.

Listening Systems (5:50)
Review: James Pennington is a true Motor City original who will forever be etched into the legendary city's musical history. Under his revered Suburban Knight alias he crafted the powerful single 'Listening Systems' in 2021, initially limited to a spotter-taunting 200 copies, but now repressed - and relax, record buyers everywhere. It's a deep, warm, driving techno cut stripped back to the bare essentials with a smoky vocal whisper adding the intimacy to a kicking rhythm that is dubbed out and soft around the edges but not lacking in impact. Perfect music for mind, body and head that needs to be played nice and loud.

Review: Cultured Swiss techno label Acquit has put together this cheeky little 7" from Trecci with one great tune on each side. 'Invisible Self' is the opener and it is a delightfully curious, inviting blend of soft focus synth loops and smeared pads that sounds like waking up on a distant planet. On the flip, 'Sit And Wonder' starts with pensive piano chords which are eventually carried away on a supple deep house grove with loopy bongos and a feel-good sense of late-night cruising. Tasteful stuff for sure.

Review: Acid Cuts is only young but already has amassed an impressive discography of contemporary techno. The sixth outing comes from Varonos and starts with mind-melting acid-laced techno stomper with thunderous stabs adding to the tension. After the even more raw Beats version comes 'Caliber' which is more minimal and loopy but soon builds inescapable tension that disorientates your mind from your body. 'Hordes' then cuts loose with visceral acid lines and the sounds of a spacecraft taking off over sizzling beats.

Illusions (Raw dub) (4:10)
Review: ZamZam Sounds present the latest release from esteemed dubstep illusionist V.I.V.E.K.. The label are quick to note him, amongst a select few others in the OG dubstep pantheon, as one of a few apostolic names to shine an especially novel light on the scene, notably perhaps due to his hosting of the much-loved System club night series. Now building on the accrual of over 20 years' worth of dubstep experience, comes 'Illusions', which self-admittedly goes to the "bedrock of soundsystem music" to deliver a power-stepper of galactic proportions. The title track gleams with exceptional understanding of the dubstep genome, its expositional 16 bars echoing early Deep Medi in not immediately privileging huge snares or snaggletooth mid-basses, but rather miring the listener deeply and accessibly into a simple kick pattern and mesmeric droplet synth, proving dubstep's malleability. The raw version amps this up even further, adding a master sonic blacksmith's ear to the snares and hats, and bringing crazed, quicksilvery tail modulations to the drum design as though the DAW were a floor-fired crucible.

Juiced In Florida (5:11)
Review: Sattaoja is back on its industrial wonklectro business, offering up yet two more heads-downers from Beau Wanzer. Strictly limited to just 200 copies, this janker is a top-level misanthropic mood, with opener 'Human Hunters' playing back like the driven and unrelenting inner monologue of a too-far-gone cyborg predator turned human bloodsport player. The comparatively whimsical feel of 'Juiced In Florida' is sparser but more energetic, offering eyebrow-raising acid highs and subtle clave taps, neither of which can possibly be turned down for the world, be it human or alien-invaded.

Review: Sven Wesiemann has long been obsessed with the deeper end of the electronic spectrum whether crafting tech, house or dub. It is the latter which he turns his attention to here with a pair of devastatingly deep cuts for Freund Der Familie. 'Sea Of Sentiments' kicks off at a snail's pace with hissing hi hats snaking off into the distance, occasion hits and unhurried bass way down below. 'Azuma' on the flipside of this tasty 7" is another perfectly sub-aquatic, grainy cut rich in atmosphere with molten pads, deft shards of light penetrating the surface and muttered vocals adding emotion.
