The Mind Blanks At The Glare (6:27)
Don't Look In The Freezer (6:39)
Cosmic Trigger (8:33)
Review: While it's become fashionable to release records that draw on the more psychedelic musical elements evident in vintage techno, electro and trance records, A Sagittariun has been ploughing that sonic furrow for many years. He successfully dips into this pool of influences once more on the Strange Brew EP, whose title may be a reference to a club in his home city of Bristol. He begins by enveloping a punchy, rolling electro-breaks groove with cosmic-sounding pads, bubbly electronics and slivers of TB-303 tweakery on 'The Mind Blanks at the Glare', before opting for a sweaty, rave-era-house-goes-acid-techno sound on the chugging, mind-mangling 'Don't Look in the Freezer'. Best of all though is flipside 'Cosmic Trigger', a deliciously immersive chunk of deep techno rich in trippy electronics, sumptuous pads and tactile grooves.

Review: Chicago based but Ukrainian-born Alinka steps up to the mighty Rekids with another standout EP that shows she has a unique, melon twisting sound. It kicks off with the full throttle 'Teacher's with jacked up drums and percussion. 'I'm Your Ghost' then layers in circling acid lines and old school bass while 'I Still Believe' lats the spirits with its trippy synths and sci-fi melodies all bring a subtle sense of party and joy. Closing out this punchy analogue EP is '909 Lives' with more potent drums and rugged grooves.

Peekaboo (6:39)
Review: Electrifying techno chops from Dave Angel, a noble peer to one of Brixton's many beloved pirate radio stations, Phase One, amongst other titles such as Underworld remixer and all-round music production connoisseur. 'Glide' pretty much does exactly what it says on the tin; the two-track 12" effortlessly swerves through mirror-image takes on serene yet energetic UK techno, with lush chords and creamy, sss-ing hats conveying a trancelike, uniquely British mood. It's as if we could only hear this music while bowling down the M25 and/or flicking through various pirate stations on the FM dial.

May I Have This Dance (7:21)
Review: Dave Angel's latest record 'Revolt' is a masterclass in watery and uptempo Detroit house, bringing the emotivity of the latter genre to the pace and velocity of techno. The title track brings subtle funk and Detroit-inspired synthwork to a brimming, bursty mix, driving home a sure sense of excitement with an ascending set of melodic additives. 'May I Have This Dance' on the B shows a different side, with zippy lead synths amplifying the vibes, as a hunched, dubbed-out rhythm marches down low, locking the listener rigidly into the groove.

100% Juice (Sampler mix) (4:01)
Contigo (4:46)
Nod To The D (5:51)
Spiked (3:59)
Review: Following the release of his blisteringly heavy Funfzig album on Rekids last year, Mark Broom returns to Matt Edwards' imprint with a teaser for the hotly anticipated follow-up, 100% Juice. As you'd expect, there's no messing around from the UK techno veteran, with opener '100% Juice (Sampler Mix)' delivering a bowel-bothering, cranium-snapping blend of rave-igniting, minor key stabs, booming bass and stomping beats. In contrast, 'Contingo' is trippy in tone thanks to all manner of overlapping synth lines, while 'Nod To The D' sees Broom blend his own drum machine-driven take on techno with vintage Motor City sounds. Rounding off a rock-solid EP is 'Spiked', a raw and razor-sharp techno throb-job primed for peak-time floors.

Fingers (4:38)
Slow (4:42)
Wild Style (3:54)
Facteur (3:53)
Review: Does techno get much better than UK veteran Mark Broom on defining contemporary label Rekids? Not often, that's for sure, as this Fast Funzig EP proves. 'Fingers' opens in eerie fashion, with a heavy groove rolling beneath curious motifs and sweeping synth chords. 'Slow' is then a heavyweight, mid-tempo stomper with razor sharp hi hats and before 'Wild Style' is just that - broken beats, whirring percussion and pixelated synths all in free fall. Closer 'Facteur' might just be the EP highlight - it's got big, oversized drums and fizzing bass, heady chords up top and a general sense of techno escapism.

Review: British techno mainstay Mark Broom rightly won praise for his first Mutated Battle Breaks EP, which showcased a variety of killer club cuts designed purely to suit thumping peak-time techno sets. We'd be surprised if this similarly superb sequel doesn't get rave notices too. It begins with a bouncy, riff-sporting slab of warehouse-ready tech-funk (Dave Angel would be proud) and ends with the dark, twisted and similarly rave-era-inspired techno-jack of 'Pump'. In between, you'll find six other short, sharp bursts of breathless techno brilliance, including the acid-fired sweatiness of 'Game' and 'The Start Up', and countless basement-bothering thumpers.

Review: UK techno veteran Mark Broom knows how to bang a box and get great techno magic out the other side. That disproven time and time again here on this new and third volume of Mutated Battle on Matt Radio Slave Edwards's Rekids label. 'Cloning' is crispy and precise old school techno with vast drums and frosted synths. The rest of the cuts are just as simple but effective, where powerful kick are combined with deft synths to make for muscular sounding cuts that will jack up any dance floor. Timeless stuff from a true techno titan.

Review: Mark Broom's Mutated Battle Breaks series is proving to be some of the most inspired music from the UK techno stalwart in years. When you're getting a Mark Broom record you expect a certain degree of techno functionality, but here he's ladling the rock solid rhythms with serious funk and flair. The offbeat synth groove of 'Tube' feels like a nod to Robert Hood's pioneering style, but Broom does plenty to jazz the music up in his own way. 'HF2 (Bass Line Mix)' features some cheeky acid and a subtle swing to the hats which will get you locked in hard, and then 'TEST25' fires off an absolute stormer with some of the toughest finger-clicks you'll have ever heard in a peak time techno monster, laden with disco string stabs.

Klashjamz (4:44)
Showtime (4:32)
HighNRG (5:04)
Jazz Ting (4:57)
Review: Mark Broom is one of the mainstays of the global underground. The UK titan has a recognisable take on house and techno genre that is underpinned by slamming kick and that comes to bare once more now as he lands on fellow legend Radio Slave's Rekids label. These four cuts bring a more house feel to start with as 'Klashjamz' layers up disco strings and vocals into something joyous. 'Showtime' has a garage slip to the loopy, silky drum rotations and 'HighNRG' throws it back with big stabs, percussive drums and chopped up vocal shards. 'Jazz Ting' is an aptly named closer with plenty of steamy sax notes of raw, loopy grooves.

Olati Beat
Review: Number 30 in the juggernaut that is Rekids' Cabin Fever Trax arrives, containing yet another pair of dancefloor killers from the studio of Matt Edwards. The chugging mid-tempo groove of "Dr Beat" belies its power, a beast of proto Chi-house whose searing percussion snowballs into a juggernaut of jacking beats, warped vocals, sirens and detuned organs. On the flip, "Olati Beat" takes things down to 100bpm with its sparse combination of minimal African-inspired house rhythms - less raucous than its counterpart but no less deadly in the right hands.

Review: Having been a staple in the Parisian scene for over two decades, Deeply Rooted boss DJ Deep returns to Matt Edward's Rekids with four tough productions here. "La Grande Brasserie" features rolling kicks and a subtle rhythm, as futuristic stabs ebb in and out of the mix, while the '2e Service' version (whilst sharing a similar aesthetic) sounds bigger with its echoing synths and infectious claps. On the flip, both tracks are more dark and mellow in comparison; "Paris Heartbeat" showcasing twisted atmospherics and gloomy elements, whilst the intricate and mesmerising 'Chord Kids' is exemplary of DJ Deep's ability to craft imaginative left-of-centre cuts.

Review: Italian techno trunculator Marco Faraone returns to ask: 'Any Good Vibe?' It's a good question, because truly good vibes can be hard to come by nowadays, not least in today's socio-economic-political climate, and Faraone proves himself more than able to channel this feeling of ambivalence, with his three newest tracks - the title track, 'Ego Kills' and 'Ghana' - spanning moods of both stress and joy in equal measure. Via these massive-room stonkers, suitable for both beachside shindigs and warehouse parties of dubious legality, we must indeed ask - where are the good vibes, if not inside ourselves?

Review: After some killer releases on Drumcode, FFRR and Hot Creations of late, British DJ/producer Alan Fitzpatrick returns to REKIDS with more of his uncompromising techno cuts on the Immortal Daydream EP. From the austere, factory floor dub of 'Everlasting' and peak time warehouse banger 'Titan Silence' on the A side, there's more action on the flip. For instance 'Droid Disco' is a cerebral and hypnotic journey in the vein of the Sound Of Rome, and closing cut 'The Underdog' is a galloping and steely cut that lunges straight for the jugular. Epic!

Mysterious Delight (5:09)
Review: It is impossible to pin down Roman Flugel. The German innovator has had more different sounds and aliases than most of us have had disco pellets. Here he is back under his own name on Berlin mainstay Rekids with four to-the-point yet still characterful techno cuts. 'Yes People' with both amp up the energy in the club but also trip out all those who hear it thanks to its caustic drums and mind-melting synths. 'Play Simple' is a double time weapon with spoken words morphing before your ears next to an insistent rhythm and sleek pads. 'Jam' is a wonky one with detuned chords tumbling about the mix over old school techno directness and 'Mysterious Delight' again cuts loose at the afters. This may be his best work in some time.

Review: Frankey & Sandrino are a mighty pair who know how to lay down compelling tech sounds. They unite once more here for a powerful two-tracker on the legendary Berlin-based Rekids label. First up is 'Brainscan' which is dark and moody, with futuristic synths and stark vocals over a rolling, tense bassline. On the flip is 'Condesa' which is a much more loose affair with broken beat drums and 80s synth lines. It has a post-rave 90s feel but updates for modern dance floors. Both tunes are likely to get plenty of plays this winter.

Feelin' Good (Radio Slave Revenge remix) (5:17)
Review: Old school meets new school here, as French techno stalwart Laurent Garnier joins forces with rising star Chambray for a cheery, glassy-eyed workout on Rekids. In its original form, "Feelin' Good" is a rushing chunk of piano-driven techno positivity, where sparkling riffs, fuzzy analogue electronic motifs and nagging electronics burst through a tough but squeezable techno beat. It should be an essential listen for all those hankering after something that recalls the celebratory glee of the early '90s while sounding suitably contemporary. Label boss Radio Slave steps up to remix, first re-imagining it as a dreamy but powerful jack track, before embracing his inner hardcore hero on a breakbeat and piano-heavy flip that's as rush-inducing as triple dropping the strongest happy pills around.

Turborave (5:55)
Harmonia (7:02)
Review: The perfect mix of "cheeky" and "darkside" best describes this latest signing by electroclash figurehead The Hacker to Rekids, emulsifying two oppositely-humoured vibe mixers, like pink and green, horror and comedy. 'Turborave' and 'Harmonia' stir the pot from different points of view; the former uses pitched-down orchestral stabs, and the latter fires off laser-powered globs against cosmic, final-hurrah synths. The latter track, especially, is commendable for its squelch control, with said lasers firing at a ballistically variable harmonic frequencies in the breakdown; miraculously, all angles are housed in a slinky sonic wire casing, carefully conducted to tempt us to, but ultimately not, blow a fuse.

Review: Chicago's Jon Hester spent years as a dancer before he even touched the decks. That's evident in the way he builds his tunes from the ground up. After a big outing on Derrick May's legendary label Transmat, he now lands on European mainstay Rekids with four more high class bangers. "Accelerator" is gallivanting, barrel chested, head held high techno to power you on through the night. "Beatwave" then takes you a little deeper in on yourself, with creepy vocal sounds, distorted drums and hi hat drama. "Zoned" keeps you locked in a constant state of motion and it might be that the best is saved for last: "Part 4" is slick, urgent, hurried house music with a unique sense of kinetic, high speed funk.
