Review: Professional hushed tone speaker Gilles Peterson culls the biggest remix from his recent Havana Cultura Remixed compilation for this 12". Louie Vega's EOL remix is steeped in syncopated Latin charm whilst his remix on the flip is a slick house excursion. Top stuff.

Review: Elmore Judd main man Jesse Hackett premieres his new project the Owiney Sigoma Band on this ace 12" from the Brownswood basement. The result of Hackett and a troupe of London based musicians decamping to Kenya to record sessions with local musicians from the village from which the band takes their name. The resulting two tracks here are a beguiling combination of hypnotic afro groove and a London sensibility. The forthcoming album promises much on this evidence.
