After being discharged from the army in 1946, Ray and Marv Lubow formed Tel-Ray Electronics, specializing in Television and Radio repair. As the company grew, Ray also began dabbling in audio inventions specifically, delay. Les Paul had already pioneered an effect called tape echo, but folks were trying to figure out how to make a smaller, more practical version of this oversized effect. Inspired to do just that, on June 30, 1959, Ray submitted the patent for an electro-static delay apparatus known today as the oil can delay.
These delay units contained oil in a tuna-can shaped drum that was moved by a belt mechanism that turned the drum while a special disk apparatus on which the audio signal charge was written and read through rubber wiper heads. The playback speed was directly related to the drum's rotation speed. The oil acted as a protective layer to keep the audio signal "charge" electrons in place, creating a truly unique echo effect with elements of vibrato and slapback delay. Ray Lubow began licensing the oil can delay technology to amplifier companies, including Fender, Gibson, and Rickenbacker. In the late 1960s, Ray and Marv decided they wanted to start selling their devices under their own brand name and launched the now legendary effects company, Morley. Ray chose the name as a none-to-subtle jab at their competitor Leslie: Why settle for less with a Leslie when you can get more with Morley? Morley manufactured oil can delays up until 1989.
At Wilco's Solid Sound Festival in 2022, JHS founder Josh Scott found himself in a discussion with legendary guitarist Nels Cline. Nels brought up the subject of weird delays, leading to an in-depth discussion of the strangest pedals they'd ever played. Josh received a message from Nels a few days later asking if JHS made an oil can style delay and began explaining the particular sound he wanted from this type of echo. Though JHS didn't have one in the official lineup, Josh and team developed a one-off oil can delay pedal. When they presented it to Nels as a gift, he liked it so much that he used it through the recording and touring process for Wilco's Cruel Country and now their latest release, Cousin.
Though the JHS Oil Can Delay isn't a signature artist pedal, we're still grateful to Nels Cline for inspiring it. We're proud to offer you this unique pedal for your own collection.

Introducing the ADDAC607, which enables users to split the signal into different bands. This creates many interesting processing possibilities. For example, by independently processing specific frequency ranges, one can add delay on only the high frequency range. Or, users split a signal to feed three different compressors for multi-band compression. Finally, DJs can use the Gain knob as a 'kill switch' to remove an entire frequency band, if desired.
Although ADDAC607 operates in Mono (for Stereo signals two modules can be used) there are two audio inputs, making it easy to achieve stereo to mono summing. The Mono Sum Out carries this summed signal. This is pre-gain and can also be used as a buffered Thru output.
The ADDAC607 is a great companion to the ADDAC220 Dual Envelope Follower+, since it allows extraction of dynamics from any signal in a focused frequency range. This allows it to separate the frequencies of a kick drum and a snare, for instance.

The JHS Pedals 3 Series Fuzz is a versatile fuzz box that cleans up well with your guitar's volume knob. The Fuzz is the perfect balance of vintage and modern with soaring sustain and clear articulation. The controls allow you to create a wide variety of sounds via the Bias knob, which gives the Fuzz a more gated sound as you turn it up. Unlike many fuzz pedals, the fuzz knob is usable across 100% of the sweep for many different flavors not typically found in a fuzz, like distortion, and even pushed amp Esq overdrive tones. The Fat toggle engages a bass boost for an overall fatter, more powerful sound. The JHS Pedals 3 Series Fuzz runs on 9V DC Negative Center power and consumes 9mA.

In 1960, Leo Fender introduced a circuit in his Bandmaster and Vibrasonic amps called the Harmonic Tremolo. Essentially, the amp's signal was split into high frequency and low frequency components, with the output switching back and forth between the two, resulting in a dreamy effect similar to the Uni-Vibe. The 3 Series Harmonic Trem allows you to utilize Leo Fender's revolutionary effect in a package much easier to tote than a vintage amplifier. A servo is a specific type of motor that can be digitally controlled to work at precise angles. On the ADDAC320, it is controlled by a microcontroller which is able to receive an incoming CV voltage from 0 to +5v and linearly converts this voltage range to the 270 degree Servo motor range. Using a spring wire and metal couplers, the motor shaft is then attached to the target knob to be controlled, which will turn as the Servo turns.?Two other knobs, Maximum Angle and Minimum Angle, allow further control of the "sweet spot" of the target knob, establishing a smaller Servo range.

In the early 1980s, Brian Eno invented an effect called "Shimmer," which was popularized in U2's The Unforgettable Fire (1984). The effect mixed ambient reverb and octave effects in the reverb's decay. The 3 Series Octave Reverb is our take on this classic effect that has been used for decades to allow the guitar to create pads and textures that fill out ambient space. Toggle up layers in upper octave sounds, while toggle down layers in lower octave sounds.
