B-STOCK: Creasing to corner of outer sleeve but otherwise in excellent condition

John Morales is pretty universally credited with inventing the 12" when he decided he needed more run time for his remixes than could be found on a small 7" 45rpm. Those remixes were often done on the studio floor when he would cut up and splice analogue tape to insert new breaks and extended instrumentals. He remains as good as anyone at that and these new versions of Curtis Harrison's 'I Want Your Lovin' and 'I Want You All Tonight' show why. They are steamy and loved-up disco gems that have everything needed to set the floor alight- big vocals, big drums, lush synths.

Review: The man who invented the extended 12" remix by cutting up reel to reel tapes and inserting new sections before stitching them back together is John Morales. The legendary producer now returns to BBE Music to celebrate the life and work of Teena Marie, a soul and R&B legend whose best moments make up this fantastic double album Love Songs & Funky Beats, which just about says it all. Morales mixed most of Marie's original works so knows the material inside out and back to front and is therefore the perfect person to rework, extend and subtly update it all with his own distinctive style.
