Electro-Harmonix Nano Pulsar Analogue Variable Shape Stereo Tremolo Effects Pedal
Cat: 869216 Rel: 22 Mar 22

Analogue variable shape stereo tremolo effects pedal
Notes: The Nano Pulsar takes tremolo beyond the ordinary and mundane. Equipped with a collection of tremolo-modulating waveforms and the option of operating in Triangle or Square Wave modes, the Nano Pulsar is a tremolo/panner treasure chest. In mono, it's simply amazing, or, connect it in stereo to create shifting waves of sound that surround you and fill your space with weaving, pulsating energy.

For all its power, the Nano Pulsar's layout is intuitive and using it is easy. There's often a perceived volume drop with tremolo when the effect is engaged so we've included a Volume control. It allows a player to fine-tune their output level when the effect is on, and is a very useful addition.

The Nano Pulsar's Depth knob adjusts the amount of tremolo applied to the signal. Past maximum (around 1 o'clock) the modulation becomes asymmetric and warps the audio signal between positive and negative phase. This creates a unique style of tremolo which sounds great alone or can be used in combination with other effects like the Oceans 11's Shimmer patch to produce compelling synth-like sounds and textures.

The Rate knob provides a full range of speed adjustments for the tremolo or pan effect, and when you start to max out the Rate and Depth controls you enter ring modulation territory for a surreal sonic joyride!

Unlock a world of advanced sound shaping and control. Create tremolo and panning effects that go from sublimely beautiful to downright shocking. The compact Nano Pulsar will be your do-it-all, go to pedal for all things tremolo and panning.

Pigtronix Moon Pool Micro Analogue Phase Shifter & Tremolo Effects Pedal
Cat: 853581 Rel: 21 Dec 21

An analogue phase shifter and tremolo pedal with independent speed controls.
Notes: Moon Pool is an analog phase shifter and tremolo with independent speed controls featuring the ability to change the rate of one or both of the effects in either direction, corresponding to how hard you play. The 4-stage, VCA-based phaser and variable bias tremolo found in the Moon Pool can each be run as standalone effects or they can be combined in series for a mesmerizing mashup of modulators. A global Depth knob determines overall wetness, while a Sensitivity knob allows you to dial in the responsiveness of these changes to accommodate different playing styles and colors. Runs on standard 9VDC.

Knob-by-knob

Phase Speed: Sets the rate of modulation for the phaser.
Trem Speed: Sets the rate of modulation for the tremolo.
Depth: Sets the intensity of both the phaser and tremolo.
Sens.: Determines how much signal is required to change the speed of both phaser and trem when dynamics processing is turned on.

Trem / Phase (Three-Way Toggle): Up = trem engaged, Center = both engaged, Down = phaser engaged

Phaser Dyn. (Three-Way Toggle): Up = phaser speed increases in response to playing dynamic, Middle = no change, Down = decreases

Trem Dyn. (Three-Way Toggle): Up = trem speed increases in response to playing dynamic, Middle = no change, Down = decreases

Dynamically-responsive, wide-range dual LFOs

Moon Pool features a pair of LFOs that can be independently modulated by the amplitude of your playing. Engaging the dynamics switches enables these LFOs to travel well beyond normal limits, creating wild FM tones at maximum speed and gradually evolving textures when slowed way down. Equal parts out-of-this-world and inherently musical.

Get lost in the slosh

Sometimes, you gotta kick off your moon boots, slip into a moon pool, pour yourself a moon juice, and get lost in the slosh.

Crazy Tube Circuits White Whale v2 Analogue Spring Reverb Effects Pedal With Tremolo
Cat: 1012695 Rel: 14 May 24

Analogue spring reverb effects pedal with tremolo
Notes: Updated version of the White Whale pedal follows the same formula of 60s-inspired tremolo and spring reverb, with an improved power amp for higher fidelity. The essence of iconic amp effects in a single pedal.

Supplier's Notes:
Inspired by the match-made-in-heaven of vintage effects found on 60s American amps, White Whale V2 sets out a new objective to pack bigger real spring reverb and tremolo sounds in the same pedalboard friendly enclosure (17 x 12,5 x 7,5 cm).

The 3-spring reverb tank assembly housed inside White Whale's enclosure has remained the same, but Crazy Tube Circuits have upgraded the power amp driving the springs for increased headroom and wider frequency response. Following the signal topography of vintage units, Crazy Tube Circuits have also upgraded the dwell control to allow you to dial the right amount of signal that goes into the springs for a mellower or splashier reverb sound. Real spring reverb found in 60s American tube amps and external reverb units featured a tube power amp driving the spring assembly via an output transformer, so analogue circuit has been delicately tuned to emulate the tube and output transformer saturation that was produced on higher dwell settings.

Each of these vintage units had its own reverb effect qualities so Crazy Tube Circuits tried to categorize them according to the most emblematic ones with a toggle switch selecting the size and decay. The user can select between the milder reverb qualities of a short to medium 2-spring reverb tank, the liveliness of a medium to long 2-spring reverb tank as found in most blackface amp designs and the dense reverb qualities of a long 3-spring reverb tank assembly. A reverb's tone control comes after the recovery stage at the output of the reverb tank and affects only the wet sounds for lively and drippy or smooth and mild reverb tones. Use the mix control to blend your desired amount of wet signal on top of the dry guitar signal. Higher reverb mix settings tend to get lost in the mix, so we've made sure you'll be heard loud and clear by incorporating a volume control capable of up to 20db boost.

The tremolo section has also been upgraded to feature harmonic tremolo, besides the opto and tube bias found in the previous incarnation of Crazy Tube Circuits' "marine mammal". This hypnotic and mesmerizing effect originated on certain models of the brown and blonde era amps and does frequency-based modulation by shifting between high and low frequencies compared to the amplitude-based modulation (opto and tube bias) that shifts between volume levels. Crazy Tube Circuits have made sure to include the two most significant variations of harmonic tremolo, as found in the original amps, that differentiate in the range and sweep of pulsating frequencies. The depth control sets the intensity of modulation while the range of the speed control has been extended beyond the span of vintage amps' to make sure we'll maximize your creativity. The volume control will boost the signal, if needed, even in the hardest throb settings.

Another upgrade found in the White Whale V2 is that the two effect sections are now completely independent and you can select the effects order so that the tremolo effect comes before the reverb or vice versa. This gives you the option to make heavenly combinations as optical and tube bias style tremolo usually sound better when placed after (post) the reverb effect while the harmonic tremolo usually sounds better when placed in front (pre) of the reverb effect. The two onboard footswitches are used to engage or bypass each effect section and feature a power-up bypass/engage pre-set function. That way you can select which state your pedal will go to when you plug the power supply. White Whale V2 also features a remote switcher input jack where you can control the bypass state of each effect section remotely via your favourite external effects switcher or via the matching artwork remote control dual footswitch (sold separately). Reverb's mix can also be controlled via an expression pedal and tremolo's speed can be controlled by either an expression pedal or external tap tempo footswitch (expression pedals / tap tempo footswitch are not included).

The surf-friendly light green colour adds to the overall drippy experience of a real spring reverb and tremolo that will fit on your pedalboard. If your amp setup doesn't have these effects by design, you have now found your perfect match.

Walrus Audio Monumental Stereo Harmonic Tap Tremolo Effects Pedal (black)
Cat: 1013551 Rel: 30 Apr 24

Stereo harmonic tap tremolo effects pedal
Notes: Building off the rich, warm, pulsating modulation of the Monument, the Monumental Harmonic Stereo Tremolo is an analogue, optical tremolo bringing new controls, features, and width to the Walrus Audio line. New features available in the Monumental include the ability to save presets, blend between standard and harmonic tremolo modes, access to new wave shape and tap division options, and most importantly, a pan control to set the stereo spread of the tremolo to the right and left channels.

Inspired by the beautifully jagged, red-sand desert landscape of Monument Valley, the Monumental Tremolo is capable of blending between harmonic and standard tremolo to produce rich, luscious, warm pulsating modulation capable of peaks and valleys as smooth or as jagged as the real ones that our dear mother nature created long ago.

With different combinations of stereo panning, rate, division, and wave shapes, everything from traditional tremolo to inspiring unique waveforms will help you carve new paths that you won't hear anywhere else.

Harken back to vintage tones inspired by Fender Brownface amps in Harmonic mode. A low-pass and high-pass version of your guitar signal is modulated opposite of each other, or 180O out of phase (high and low frequencies rise and fall opposite of each other). The result is a warm, almost "chewy" tremolo. Turn the S-B-H counterclockwise to give more bite to your tremolo pulse and tame the out-of-phase harmonics.

Controls

PAN: Control the stereo spread of the left and right channels. Counterclockwise is your standard tremolo sound, the left and right channels have the same LFO. Turning the control clockwise will offset the phase of the right LFO to introduce stereo spread. Fully clockwise is maximum panning with the right channel LFO being 180 degrees out of phase from the Left LFO.

S-B-H: Use this control to blend between standard and harmonic tremolo modes. In standard, all frequencies get affected at the same time. In harmonic, the high and low frequencies are offset from each other - When high is on, low is off and when high is off, low is on.

Pro Tip: Blending between standard and harmonic with the PAN knob turned up past 0 creates interesting polyrhythmic sounds.

PRESET: The Monumental has three onboard presets with an additional live mode. Each preset can save and recall every parameter available on the pedal. Press both the bypass switch and tap tempo switch simultaneously to cycle through the available presets (Red, Green, Blue, with White being "live").

When you are on a preset and you change a parameter, the bypass LED will change colour to purple, indicating a change has been made. You can then turn the control and the bypass LED will return to the preset colour when the control is at the saved position. Once you have determined what sound you want saved for the preset, hold down both footswitches to save the preset (the bypass LED will return to the preset colour). Live mode will always return to the current knob positions on the face of the pedal.
