Review: Detroit legend Marcellus Pittman, a member of the iconic Three Chairs collective, teams up with renowned producer James Curd for the AtNosphere EP, marking his debut on Shall Not Fade. This 10" brings all the classic Detroit deep house elements togetherilush synths, smooth vocals, and rolling drum patternsicrafting a track that feels timeless. Curd, known for his work on the GTA soundtracks and various films, adds his production expertise to this collaboration, making the EP a must-have for fans of both Detroit house and masterful production. Two heavyweights on one record, delivering deep house at its finest.
Review: The next release on Shall Not Fade comes from none other than deep house legend, Fred P. Also renowned for his musical offerings as Black Jazz Consortium, the New York-bred, Berlin-based producer is accredited with over 100 releases, all instantly recognisable given their warmth, depth and modesty. The new 'Out All Night' EP tops up the roster, and is replete with shaky synth tremblings, underwater movements, and broken clap-drum assortments.
Review: It has been hard to keep up with the high rate of - high quality - relates from the Shall Not Fade camp this year. They have covered plenty of stylistic ground and now offer up a bit of everything from the ever relabel London-based producer Lawrence Guy. His today 10" opens with a big bit of celebratory, hands in the air house. 'Your Good Times Are Here' has subtle acid, happy chords and driving drums that all equate to a breezy and feel good dynamic. 'I Know You Feel Sad' is a sombre interlude with heartbroken chords and vocal snippets next to lingering trumpet motifs and 'Yeh Good, You?' then gets back to building good house vibes. A second tender piece comes in the form of 'Mutual Disappointment Is A Terrible Thing' and its plaintive pianos.
