Review: Tom Wax has been knocking out high quality tunes at a high rate of knots for many years on all manner of influential labels. This time out he steps up with a one-sided and banging 12" for Plastic City in the same month that a bunch of remixes of the same single also appear. The original is all gurgle acid lines, yelping vocals and pure rave-techno energy. The arrangement fizzes and spits and is overloaded with lo-fi fuzz which only adds to the sense of rush as you get lost in the beats. A devastating cut for sure.

Review: Nicolai Toma is back on Subject To Restrictions Discs with some more arresting excellence. 'Phase Binder feat. Zorimira' delivers a blend of organic synth waves and acid textures that showcases Toma's evolution/ The three tracks are built on fine beats ranging from downtempo grooves to acid-infused anthems and pop-tinged house hits. Zorimira enhances the sounds with her unique vocals and lyrics, which though reminiscent of samples, are in fact originals. Adding to the collection, Swedish producer Vesto Comodo offers a remix to enrich the EP with his distinct touch.

Review: Polish producer Tomashevsky draws from a strong history of electronic influences, creating his own underworld of foreboding techno. His debut EP Rejected inaugurates Trylion Records, featuring the deep space sonar transmissions of 'Incoherent' that's aimed squarely at the main room dancefloor, followed by the cerebral and droning hypnotiser 'Rollback'. Over on the flip, the peak time beckons on the steely heads-down affair that is the title track, and finally there's the seething industrial beats of 'All Things Fall'.

Review: Sub Basics is back on his own fledgling label Temple of Sound - but under a new alias. As Tommy Basics he leads into a fresh house sound but still serves it up with plenty of his textbook bass-heavy low ends. 'Latitude' is a bubbly groover with dusty drums and fleshy basslines that get you moving and warmed up. 'Longitude' is even deeper, with smeared dub chords and woody percussive hits peppering the laid-back and inviting groove. Two stylish sounds from this versatile producer.

Review: Toni Moralez is back with a new project by the name of Echoes From The Grave and it debuts on Mutual Pleasure with four tracks of murky underworld electro. 'Don't B Shy (Turn Around)' is pure sleaze. A dirty banger for dancefloor madness. 'I Wanna Suck Ur Dick (Long N Hard)' is a more lithe and bouncy cut with bright hooks buried below naughty vocals and hurried drums and then 'Take Off Ur Clothes' keeps the filth going with another highly potent electro groove overlaid with some urgent synth tension. 'Take Off Ur Clothes' (feat YBM - partiboi69 Cheek Spreading rework) is a slick and unrelenting minimal electro rhythm with real future charm.

Review: When a label calls itself Bring Dat Ass you can bet your bottom dollar that it's going to release proper sleazy electro. Enter Toribio with a superb four track EP of just that to get this new imprint underway. 'No Pare' is a firing cut the kick off with - synths dart about with their own mind, the tested bassline never lets up and the analogue drums jack for days. 'Work Dat Shit' is a little slower and bumpier with some bright acid prickles and 'Cimarron Palace' then unfolds with the same swing of a UK funky track. 'Anti Narcoleptic' is the best of the bunch - a weird and wonderful wonky out with clattering percussion and jumbled drum madness.

Review: The Fuori Orario label is back after making a fine debut with another notable EP. This one fuses electro, acid and breaks into something fresh and comes from Trascendance, who you might better known as Riccardo from fine EPs on labels such as Imprints, Metropolita and Elma Rivaga. 'Ultraverse' is the sleek and serene opener with its gurgling acid lines and progressive melodies over tight, pent up beats. 'Glifico' then ducks and dives with a spooky and haunting late night feel and 'Sonicsenses' layers in all manner of freaky vocal whirs. 'Temporaton' is last up and has a dark heart and real menace.

Review: Steve Poindexter and Traxman's Factory Music Chicago imprint has been around for a while, though releases have historically been occasional rather than regular. This split EP, featuring three acid-fired jackers apiece from Traxman and Slick Rick Da Master, is only the label's fifth vinyl outing - and fifth in total. Traxman handles side A, confidently striding between the mind-mangling jacking stomp of 'Pulaski Road', the lo-fi acid crankiness of 'Get Some Act Right Acid' and the sleazy and breathless TB-303 insanity of 'Warp Acidz Warp'. Turn to side B for Slick Rick Da Master's three heavyweight contributions: the mind-bending hypnotism of EP highlight 'Acidbo 1', the sample-rich nostalgia and red-lined beats of 'Everybody Dance (dub)' and the effects-laden trip that is 'Acid Jack'.

Review: A sixth series of remixes of Truncate's always-reliable techno lands here on his own label. First up is Tronic man Christian Smith with a remix of 'Wave 2' that starts with high-speed drums and supple, mind-melting synths. SCB aka Scuba then reworks the same hating with more texture and heavier, off-balance rhythms. 'Bodega' (Blenk remix) is a minimal workout with spangled chords and dub undercurrents that come alive with organic percussion. Last of all, the same cut gets a remix by THER3MIN who layers in some unsettling synth pulses and anxious percussion.

Review: The Truncate label is offering up this remix EP in two different formats - plain back wax and this nice limited edition coloured version. It is a hefty offering of weighty, heady techno for the dead of night. Legendary Tronic founder Christian Smith kicks off with a version of 'Wave 2' that harks back to the early and mid-90s. Next is Scuba, aka the head of the Hotflush label, under his SCB guises and he offers some raw, economical sounds. Contemporary artist Blenk then follows up a nice release on Enemy Records with his drum lead take on 'Bodega' and Athens artist THER3MIN shuts down with more paranoid techno.

Review: Los Angeles mainstay and famed techno practitioner Truncate has joined forces with Chicago legend DJ Hyperactive for a first-ever collaborative EP. The results are fascinating from the first beat: 'Universal Function' is an anxiety-riddled deep techno pumper, 'Trust The Process' is laced with cosmic synths and an eerie sense of the unknown and 'Space Shuffle' is more jacked, with raw drums and punchy kicks topped by manic synth squiggles. Last of all is a heady soundscape in 'Matter Of Time' with its dusty hi-hats and frictionless drums.

Review: The second release on Lempuyang comes courtesy of Tomoki Tsukamoto. In the late 90s Tomoki put out releases on Gez Varley's G Records, i220, and of course ran his own Metrojuice Records imprint; putting out some of the most sought-after deep & dubby techno records under his alias W-Moon. Review: AD 93 is fast approaching a century of releases and helping them on their way is this fresh 12" from TSVI and DJ Plead. It brings plenty of bouncy to the party with elastic opener 'Triple It' layering up big kicks and hits with playful bass. 'Swanky' is another blend of Afro rhythms and UK funky, fizzing synths and heavy bass and 'Gallop' picks up the pace with a more lithe and loopy groove. 'Breath Work' flips the script with Eastern string melodies and percussive beats and 'Twos & Fours' is a fourth and final fantastically inventive sound that will stand out in any set for all the right reasons.

In this sophomore outing, the mystery of the 'Void Century' unfolds and is brought to life through the sound of two seasoned Neapolitan sailors, Luigi and Andrea, aka Two Opposites. They infuse the tale with Italian romanticism by blending trance-infused electro with haunting sirens and secret government whispers. In short, this is a nice storytelling EP of well-designed electro.

Review: TWR72 takes the techno baton from the HAYES crew with four highly effective tools. '1N0V4T1V3' brings rusty loops and cantering drum funk, '7ECHN0L0G1' is more paired back with twitchy synth repetitions and kinetic drums while 'F4SC1N4T1NG' is an off balance and dynamic blend of fluttering metal snares and thudding drums. Review: TWR72 is a Dutch techno mainstay who here debuts on the Spanish label Room. His Narrow EP is a powerful dance floor sucker punch with a remix from the up-and-coming Mathys Lenne that shows he is an artist with a textural take on tunneling techno. The original tunes include 'Narrow' which is all hulking great kicks and bleeping synth pulses. 'Generous' then ups the ante with quick and slick Mills style minimalism and 'Exact' rounds out with a hunched-over groove that leans into a stiff wind as howling synths swirl around and the tension continues to grow. Classy and timeless tackle for sure.

Review: Missile Vintage deploys a sixth sizzling techno weapon here and it comes from the studio of Damon Wild and Tim Taylor who combine in electric fashion. 'Band The Acid' really does that. It is cantering, hi-octane techno with lashings of wet 303 lines that flash about the mix like an untethered hose. Add in some slamming analogue drums and eye-watering percussion and you have pure club dynamite. The DJ Dextro remix does nothing to offer you respite and is just as much of a caustic and timeless acid techno classic.

Review: Correcciones Calypso returns from a generous hiatus with the fourth edition of its acclaimed edit series, replete with four re-edits that veer from the subtle to the downright brazen. Thomass Jackson and INigo Vontier invite the French duo Youkounkoun to open proceedings with an insane early 80s edit full of big drums and exotic touches that's been blowing dancefloors all around the world for the past years - and definitely resides in the brazen category, despite a lot of work having gone into it. Olta Karawame make their debut on the series with a powerful, compact edit full of ballsy keyboard riffing and a military-sized kick drum that is guaranteed to have heads banging .
