Soma Laboratory Lyra-8 8-Voice Organismic Analogue Synthesiser (zanzibar blue)
Cat: 856134 Rel: 26 Nov 21

8-voice organismic analogue synthesiser
Notes: Brilliantly unusual synth based on eight analogue tone generators, functioning more like an electric organ or FM synth than a conventional subtractive architecture. Unique sound.

Supplier notes:
Welcome to the world of sound of LYRA-8, the unique organismic analogue synthesizer designed by Vlad Kreimer. "Organismic" means that LYRA uses some principles that lie in the base of living organisms. The way how LYRA's modules interacting between each other and the behaviour of the instrument resembles a live conversation.

LYRA-8 is based on eight generators, which will be referred to as voices. Their design is not like a traditional subtractive synthesis VCO. Instead of having a linear or logarithmic dependency on control voltage, they resemble the tone generators in old electric organs. Hence the use of the term "voices" instead of VCOs. Lyra uses non-linearity a lot, and the voices are constructed in such a way that allows for non-linearity to express itself.

The voices are divided into four pairs (12, 34, 56, 78). All the pairs are divided in two groups, with two pairs in each (1234, 5678), creating tree-like structure.

The voices can function either in an electric organ mode or in an FM synthesis mode with each of the voices and its envelope acting as a separate FM operator. The voice's impact on FM synthesis will decrease along with the decay of its envelope.

LYRA-8 also has the next blocks:

The HYPER LFO is a complex low-frequency generator, whose waveform is synthesized from two simple LFOs by summation or multiplication of their frequencies. It also has a sync mode. The LFO can modulate the selected pairs of voices and the MOD DELAY.

The MOD DELAY consists of two lines of delay with cross-feedback and a special architecture that enables resonance between the two lines. Each line's delay time can be individually modulated from various sources, including external ones. The delay has a unique possibility of self-modulation where the output signal modulates the delay sample rate, creating cool effects.

The DISTORTION is last in the chain, after the delay. It enables the delay to also influence the distortion.

For all its experimental character, LYRA is a professional instrument. Its output dynamics and frequency response are balanced and ready for a live performance or studio recording without any additional processing.

SoMa Laboratory Lyra-4 4-Voice Organismic Analogue Synthesiser (black)
Cat: 1055354 Rel: 31 Jan 25

4-voice organismic analogue synthesiser
Notes: Derived from the excellent Lyra-8, the Lyra-4 features a similar 'organismic' approach to synthesis. Four-voice non-linear architecture offers unique tones in a compact, portable format.

Supplier's Notes:
Introducing the revived version of LYRA-4 organismic synthesiser, the younger sister of the famous LYRA-8. "Organismic" means that LYRA uses some principles that lie in the base of living organisms. The way how LYRA's modules interacting between each other and the behaviour of the instrument resembles a live conversation. It's smaller and weighs less but is equally rugged in design, and still packs a lot of punch. This makes it easy to fit in a backpack and perfect for taking the LYRA sound on the road. And playing two LYRA-4s can actually sound very different than just one LYRA-8.

LYRA-4 is based on four generators, which will be referred to as voices. Their design is not like a traditional subtractive synthesis VCO. Instead of having a linear or logarithmic dependency on control voltage, they resemble the tone generators in old electric organs. Hence the use of the term "voices" instead of "VCOs". Pittsburgh Modular Taiga Analogue Paraphonic Modular Synthesiser
Cat: 922788 Rel: 16 Mar 23

An analogue paraphonic modular synthesiser.
Notes: A beautifully realised instrument drawing on West coast and East coast synthesis concepts to create something new and beguiling. Three oscillators, smooth filter and Buchla-style dynamics controller.

Supplier's Notes:
Taiga Paraphonic Modular Synthesizer

Taiga is a complete, modern, modular instrument that allows us to explore beyond the boundaries of a traditional analog synthesizer. The sound of Taiga can be attributed to three uniquely Pittsburgh innovations. A trio of huge analog oscillators, the unmistakably smooth sound of the Pittsburgh Filter, and the warmth of the unique Dynamics Controller. These enable you to not only create sounds that would be traditionally expected from an analog synthesizer, but also to explore new sonic textures and performance possibilities.

Taiga oscillators

Waveforms generated by the three Taiga oscillators stretch beyond the basic geometric shapes and sounds associated with analog synthesis. Taiga waveforms pass through up to three proprietary, cascading waveshapers designed to precisely manipulate their symmetry and harmonic content. In addition, each oscillator includes a robust six-stage wave folder to add even more complexity and depth to the diverse sonic palate of Taiga.

The Pittsburgh Filter

The Pittsburgh filter has defined the sound of Pittsburgh Modular from the moment it was introduced. A signature gummy and relaxed sound with no dead spots that has been tweaked to perfection. It offers a warm, smooth sweep through the full frequency range and a sweet resonance that does not roll off the low end. This generation of the Pittsburgh filter is specifically designed to ensure a remarkable interplay with Taiga's oscillators.

Pittsburgh Dynamics Controller

Pittsburgh's new Dynamics technology imparts Taiga with a uniquely organic depth and presence. By simultaneously managing both amplitude and harmonic content, the Pittsburgh Dynamics Controller expands beyond the one-dimensional VCA found in other synthesizers. It does this by utilizing new advancements from traditional low pass gates to add additional definition and dimension to the voice of Taiga.

When used in low pass gate mode, sounds shed harmonic content and become warmer as they decrease in volume. This mimics how sound waves react to their environment. Because of this connection, the Taiga sounds more natural or complex compared to other instruments.

Analogue Echoes

Echos is a beautifully dark analog delay tuned to enhance the source material by repeating it over and over. Echos utilize a pair of bucket brigade delay chips to produce a classic voltage-controllable analog delay effect that helps to place the sounds of Taiga in a simulated environment.

Open Architecture

Taiga has an internally defined signal path. Patch cables are not necessary to begin exploring. Attach a midi keyboard and plug the output into a speaker or DAW and Taiga is ready to go with a robust but familiar workflow. When your ideas grow beyond the pre-defined signal path, a 60 point patch bay opens up a fully modular instrument with access to an even deeper set of features and tools.

Complete Set of Modular Tools

Taiga includes a host of fully modular, analog, and digital synthesis tools to support and enhance its core functionality. Analog tools include a flexible dual mixer, a pair of plucky four-stage envelope generators, noise, and sample and hold. Digital tools cover external MIDI, arpeggiator, clock sync'd modulation tools, and a robust collection of random generators. The Taiga toolset is deep enough for any type of sonic exploration.

Moog Subsequent 37 Paraphonic Analogue Synthesiser
Cat: 661865 Rel: 12 Sep 17

37-key paraphonic analogue synthesiser
Notes: The Subsequent 37 is a (2-note) paraphonic analogue synthesizer that builds upon the award-winning design of the ultra-powerful Sub 37 Tribute Edition. Its control panel is home to 40 knobs and 74 switches, placing a vast array of analogue sound-design tools and onboard sequencing options immediately at your command. The Subsequent 37 improves upon its source through the implementation of a number of user-requested sonic and functional enhancements. Each enhancement maintains the magic and character of its predecessor while also providing access to new dimensions of sound and improved playability.

The SUBSEQUENT 37 mixer section has double the headroom of that in the Sub 37 Tribute Edition. This provides access to a new range of classic clean tones in both mono and duo performance modes. Leveraging the mixer's newfound flexibility, gain-staging in the Ladder filter has been reshaped to boost harmonic saturation and analogue compression, resulting in an overall richer low end. Completing the sonic evolution of the SUBSEQUENT 37 is a re-tuned Multidrive circuit that extends well beyond the grit and growl of the original Sub 37.

"We are really excited to incorporate community feedback into the evolution of an instrument. Adding CV interconnectivity was the starting point, but we have also increased the headroom in the mixer and significantly extended the range of Multidrive, giving the Subsequent 37 CV expanded sonic capability and modular control." - Cyril Lance, Moog Chief Engineer

In addition to the sound engine augmentation, each SUBSEQUENT 37 comes with an upgraded keybed for improved playability, a high-powered headphone amplifier strong enough to drive the most demanding headphones, and a software plugin/editor for both Windows and Mac platforms.

Cat: 912321 Rel: 13 Jan 23

44-key monophonic analogue synthesiser
Notes: Originally released in 1970, Minimoog Model D was the world's first portable synthesizer and served as the archetype for all electronic keyboards that followed. The all-analog instrument gained acclaim for combining the colossal sound of the 1960s Moog modular synthesizers with the accessibility of pre-wired modulesimeaning that it could be played instantly and intuitively with no patch cables required. It was quickly embraced by a diverse roster of performers, with artists like Herbie Hancock, Kraftwerk, Rick Wakeman, Sun Ra, Piero Umiliani, Giorgio Moroder, Bernie Worrell, and Gary Numan all shaping unique sounds and forging new musical genres using the instrument.

More than a half-century since its invention, Minimoog Model D is back in production at the Moog factory in Asheville, North Carolina. An exceptional sonic tool and one of the most beloved and iconic synthesizers ever designed, it returns to the hands of synthesists of all kinds and serves as inspiration for the next generation of electronic musicians.

The three-oscillator, monophonic, analog synthesizer is securely housed in a locally sourced Appalachian cherry cabinet and hand-finished aluminum chassis. Sounding as vibrant and deep as ever, its legendary low-pass ladder filter, powerful oscillators, and rich saturating mixer retain the exact component placement and through-hole design of a 1970s-era Minimoog Model D.

While no changes have been made to the original sound engine or audio signal path, the 2022 Minimoog Model D includes a series of popular functional modifications that expand this legendary instrument's sonic capabilities. These modifications include a dedicated analog LFO with triangle and square waveshapes, a premium Fatar keybed with velocity and after pressure available via top panel CV jacks with onboard trimpots, MIDI integration, and a mixer feedback modification which allows the Minimoog Model D to overdrive and scream with the turn of a knob. And, for the first time in its history, the Minimoog Model D now features a spring-loaded pitch wheel with center deadband, allowing for improved playability and wild performance flourishes. This newest edition also includes updates to the MIDI functionality, allowing for improved modern studio integration.

Michigan Synth Works Syncussion SY-1 Analogue Drum Synthesiser With Expanded I/O Configuration (white)
Cat: 1075640 Rel: 23 Apr 25

The Michigan Synth Works SY-1 Drum synth is a full size, exact replica of the Pearl SY-1 Syncussion
Notes: An exact replica of the legendary Pearl SY-1 Syncussion drum machine, featuring expanded I/O board. Classic analogue sound with individual trigger inputs, two voices and six different oscillator modes per voice.

Supplier's Notes:
The Michigan Synth Works SY-1 Drum synth is a full size, exact replica of the Pearl SY-1 Syncussion. Every detail has been replicated from the original board layouts to the mechanical construction. The assembled version has been modernized to use current manufacturing processes while still using the original board layouts and all parts have been carefully chosen to match the behaviour of the original. Case, boards, and I/O Boards are all interchangeable with the original Pearl device.

Assembled versions come with the METAL back standard, the wood case is available as a DIY kit separately.

The Syncussion:

The Syncussion is a 2 voice drum synthesizer with two oscillators per voice and six different modes. Five modes mix and modulate the oscillators plus a noise channel. Each voice has controls for TUNE, DECAY, SWEEP amount, SWEEP Speed, Sweep up/off/down, LFO amount, and LFO speed, LFO Shape (Tri or Square), and sample and hold.

OSC Modes:

A: One oscillator sound, at this position the regular drum synthesizer sweep can be effected.

B. Sound of one oscillator adjusting the other oscillator frequency; produces a metallic sound.

C. Sound of a mix of two oscillator outputs; sound is similar to that of a vibraphone.

D. Sound of mix of two oscillator outputs; produces a low to high sweep and is done by hitting pad softly or hard; there is no connection to SWEEP SPEED and SWEEP RANGE

E. Sound of one oscillator adjusting the other oscillator frequency with a mix of noise; produces a sound similar to hitting thin metal.

F. Sound of only noise

Triggering:

The SY-1 is designed to be triggered via drum triggers which output a very low pulse signal. Modern 5V trigger signals (v-trig) can be used, how it i recommended experimenting with simple audio samples or more dynamic triggers. One of the more interesting features of the Syncussion is the dynamic response to the drum triggers and just sending a straight pulse which maxes out the trigger inputs does not do the device justice.

Tuning:

The original SY-1 uses a tune pedal to adjust the pitch of both oscillators while playing. This functionality has been retained in the original configuration but is of limited use without the pedal. The expanded version DOES have per voice CV control (1v/Oct) as well as the MIDI.

The inputs and outputs use 1/4" Stereo to 1/4" (3 included) to greatly expand the capabilities of the device. The Mod input is prewired to VCF freq but can easily be switched to decay via jumper on the voice cards.

The SY-1 ships with a metal base panel but the DIY wood case can be used instead. It is provided UNFINISHED and sold separately.

Whats included:

SY-1 Synthesiser

Universal Power adapter (100-240V, 12V DC out, Tip Positive)

Expanded I/O: 3x 1.5m TRS 1/4" Phone to 2x TS 1/4" Phone

Cat: 440156 Rel: 04 Feb 12

Analogue ribbon portable synthesiser with delay effects
Notes: A good delay was an essential part of the classic analog synthesizer sound. More often than not, that delay came from a tape-style echo machine until affordable digital delays were created. The Monotron Delay is an analog synthesizer optimized for sound effects. In addition to its analog oscillator, filter and LFO, it also provides a space delay that's indispensible for swooping, cosmic sounds. The monotron Delay even reproduces the pitch changes that occur when you vary the delay time, just as though you were using an analog tape echo. This fat and warm delay will add an authentic edge to your analog sounds.

It also features Korg's class VCF filter for full control over your sounds. The distinctive tone of an analog filter (VCF) can dramatically alter and enrich the sound. The Monotron Delay uses the same highly acclaimed VCF circuit as Korg's classic MS-10 and MS-20 semi modular synthesizers. Originally released over 30 years ago, these instruments are still coveted today for their aggressive, dynamic filters. The VCF Cutoff knob sets the frequency or tone of the filter; the VCF Peak knob adds emphasis. A powerful filter is an essential aspect of any analog synthesizer, applying dramatic tonal changes to the sound, and projecting an intense personality that will stand out in any live performance.

Korg Volca Keys 3-Voice Polyphonic Analogue Synthesiser & Loop Sequencer
Cat: 488447 Rel: 24 Sep 13

3 voice polyphonic analog sound engine and loop sequencer
Notes: The Korg Volca Keys is an ideal introductory synthesizer, with a simple, yet powerful polyphonic analog sound engine and loop sequencer.

The Volca Keys is a long awaited synthesizer that adds a new chapter to the long and storied history of Korg's analog synthesizers. This 27 key analog lead synth delivers unbelievably powerful sound in a compact body. Starting with a filter section that uses the circuitry of the legendary miniKORG700S (1974), it delivers astonishing sound that takes full advantage of Korg's half-century of know-how in circuit design.

With a simple structure that includes delay effect and a sequencer, it's also an ideal choice for a first analog synth. It offers the richly expressive sounds that are distinctive of analog, providing the enjoyment of simple yet deep sound-creation. The possibilities are endless; you can use the three oscillators to play chords, use them in unison with detune to produce solid lead lines, or apply ring modulation to create far-out metallic sounds.

The Voicing function makes it easy to specify how the three oscillators will be combined. Choose between poly, unison, octave, fifth, unison ring or poly ring simply by turning a dial. Easy for those taking thier first steps into synthesisers, the Volca's simple design makes it easy to obtain a wide variety of sounds.

Record phrases as you play them with the Volca Keys using the loop sequencer. With up to 16 steps, it's easy to create phrases as they come to mind. Use the overdub recording function to produce complex loops, with up to 8 sequence patterns able to be stored in internal memory. Craft your loops with the motion seqence function, apply time varying changes to your sound to enhance loops and add originality to your life performances.

Skip a step during sequence playback with active step, a function that creates effects similar to a short loop or unexpectedly irregular rhythms. This allows you to create a dynamic performance just as though you were performing the sequence itself. Flux function lets you play back the phrase without quantizing the steps, producing a loop with a distinctive sense of groove.

A useful self-tuning function constantly tunes the oscillators, so you never need to tune during a performance or wait for the pitch to stabilise after turning the power on.

Connect the Volca Keys with the rest of the Volca Series or a Monotribe using the sync jack. A MIDI in connector lets you synchronise with other devices, play the Volca from any MIDI keyboard and send note messages from your DAW.

The Volca Keys analogue loop synth has a compact size and a built-in speaker, easily playable anytime, anywhere. The ideal starter-synth.

Korg Minilogue XD 4-Voice Polyphonic Analogue Desktop Synthesiser
Cat: 732457 Rel: 28 Aug 19

Desktop module version of the now classic synth
Notes: A whooooole lot of synth power for the money, building on the original Minilogue's analogue platform with a load of added digital features. Hard to think of many more versatile synth modules.

Supplier notes:
Minilogue XD module is the new desktop module version of Minilogue XD, the four-voice polyphonic analogue synthesiser with a customizable digital multi-engine and built-in stereo digital effects.

The desktop module is equipped with the same controllers as the keyboard version, making it a great choice not only as an additional sound module for your keyboard or DAW but also providing excellent performability, giving you an easy way to include an analogue polyphonic synth in your setup. It's also equipped with a poly-chain function that lets you connect it with another Minilogue XD or Minilogue XD module so that the two units can operate as a polysynth with a total of up to eight voices in your studio or on stage.

Add the sounds of the Minilogue XD to your setup or system!

Equipped with an analogue synthesiser circuit and a digital multi-engine:

Voice structure of Minilogue XD is 2VCO + MULTI ENGINE, 1VCF, 2EG, 1VCA, and 1LFO. In addition to the distinctive circuits found in the series, such as wave shaping to shape the overtones of the oscillator and a sync/ring switch, there's also cross modulation, a two-pole filter that can be both sharp and fat, and a drive switch that adds thickness and drives signal into Minilogue XD's filter. Every parameter has been tuned in detail based on what musicians want out of their synth. The sounds range from the warm pads typical of analogue to fat basses and crisp lead sounds, covering every situation.

The additional sound design possibilities of digital sound are delivered by the multi-engine: the third oscillator in addition to the two analogue VCOs. This engine, which is equipped with three different types of sound generator (noise, VPM, and open-source user oscillators) lets you take advantage of a sonic character that's different than analogue, and use it at the same time as the analogue engine, infinitely expanding XD module's potential through hybrid sound design.

High-quality digital effects:

Minilogue XD's high-quality digital effects use 32-bit floating point DSP processing, adding a finishing touch to its deep sound design platform. The three types (modulation effects, reverb, and delay) can be used simultaneously, letting you choose from a wide range of variations including chorus, ensemble, warm tape delay, and a diverse variety of reverb. The user effect slots allow you to load your own effect programs that you've created.

User customization brings out infinite potential:

The Minilogue XD features a customizable open-source environment. The unit comes with 16 user oscillator slots and 16 user effect slots that you can customize. Oscillators and user programs that you've created with the SDK (Software Development Kit) can be loaded into the Minilogue XD via the dedicated librarian software, as well as oscillators other users share online.

What sounds can you create using the fusion of expanded digital oscillators with analogue synthesis? Create original programs, share code, and participate in the user community. KORG even provides sample code to get you started.

Polyphonic Step Sequencer:

One of the major features of the Minilogue XD series is its 16-step step sequencer. Each of the factory-preset programs has an embedded sequence pattern created with performance in mind.

The step sequencer provides 16 steps, and supports both realtime recording and step recording. You can use the 16 step buttons to select a step directly, allowing quick editing to replace the pitch of a step or to mute it, or even improvisatory performances. Motion sequence lets you record the movements of up to four knobs, adding time-varying change to the sound, and you can record not only smooth changes in value but also values that change precisely at each step. You can use this to have different parameter values at each step; for example, you might create a drum pattern or sound effect from just a single program. This allows countless ideas to be unleashed.

Poly chain support:

The Minilogue XD module can be used in conjunction with another unit in the Minilogue XD series for poly assignment settings. Specify one unit as the master and the other as the slave, and they will play as an eight-voice polyphonic synthesiser. This supports a variety of uses, such as a voice-expansion module for the Minilogue XD or as a sound module for a DAW-based production system.

Free bundle of music software:

The Minilogue XD module comes with a diverse variety of music software from Izotope including "Ozone Elements" which lets you not only create songs but also master them using AI, "Skoove" which will help you improve your keyboard playing skills, "Reason Lite" DAW software, as well as software synths from KORG and other brands.

Jomox Mod FM D 8-Voice 4-OP FM Analogue Synthesiser
Cat: 1046056 Rel: 18 Nov 24

8-voice 4-operator frequency modulator analogue synthesiser
Notes: A year ago, Jomox brought out the Mod FM as a eurorack module.

Now, Jomox present almost the same synth, but as a desktop unit, with its own PSU, Midi, standard 1/4" balanced outputs and analogue volume control.

The Mod FM D has an analogue side chain stereo input that gets routed into the Mod FM D effects, and can be mixed to the synth.

The ratio of synth + input/effects can be controlled via an analogue dry/wet potentiometer.

The Mod FM D is a completely self-contained 8 voice FM synth in desktop format, which can create powerful sounds out of the box without lacking the commonly provided CV modulation possibilities.

It provides 4 Operators and 2 LFOs/VCOs per voice. Additionally, it has 2 analogue filters and analogue VCAs per voice which apply analogue warmth and depth to the Mod FM D, although the FM engine is digital of course.

Each voice has its own CV/Gate inputs and an individual output. There is a mix output which separates even and odd voices. Here you can mix internal effects like delay and reverb to the stereo output signal.

Next to the CV/Gate control, the Mod FM D has Midi in and out and a USB C connector which handles Midi too.

Even without diving too much into complicated setups you can create extremely good sounding and metallic FM sounds, snappy bases but also soft and deep sounding analogue style sounds as tons of crazy weird stuff.

Furthermore, the Mod FM D offers a variety of external cv modulations in order to modulate each operator individually or control the FM envelopes.

The Mod FM D is fully multitimbral, i.e. each voice can play an own sound in Multi Mode which gets stored as a complete multi set (not only vectorized). That is, you can copy a single sound to the desired multi, but edits made on that particular multi get stored along with the multi set.

Hence, we have the biggest advantage of the hybrid approach:

Analogue and modular is great but can be very complex, and you might be trapped in a system where you never reach again the pretty sound of the latest session. Storability certainly helps.

The different sections in more detail:

Matrix FM:

4 operators are arranged in a matrix, in which every operator (= sine oscillator) can be modulated by each one of the other three.

The 16 endless potentiometers of the matrix adjust the modulation amount (FM amt) and the base frequency of the operators.

For each operator you can change the base frequency by the diagonal knobs.

There are several overtone modes that determine if one operator is controlled by the keynote (or CV) = base operator, or if it's locked in as overtone (= overtone operator) to the assigned base operator. For the base operator, the number resembles xxx semitones added to the keynote.

For the overtone operator, the adjusted number is the xxx = Nth overtone or harmonics to the base operator frequency.

The locked overtone operator tracks the base operator and is still able to modulate and being modulated.

Each operator has an ADSR envelope. This envelope can also be used to frequency-modulate the operator.

Algorithm:

The algorithms from the known FM synthesis are actually special cases to the whole matrix.

As it gets pretty quickly uncontrollable if you turn all the knobs due to the feedback, Jomox have decided to implement the algorithms. There are 26 algorithms, that are derived from the DX9 with its 4 operators.

At this menu it's even possible to change the frequency mode of each operator to a fixed frequency that is edited in single Hz and which does not follow the keynote, but only modulation. That makes sense for e.g. percussive sounds.

LFO/VCO:

Each voice has 2 LFOs which can modulate either the frequency (FM) or the amplitude (AM) of an operator. Every LFO addresses 64 different wave forms that are displayed in the right OLED display.

There is another feature: each LFO can be switched into a VCO that covers the whole audio range. You can even mix it into the signal chain and it tracks to the keynote. The former LFO rate parameter turns into a detune parameter. That is, you can create classic sounding rectangle/sawtooth analogue basses or string pads - and much more of course.

Filter:

Each voice contains an analogue filter which is build up with the chip SSI2140 from Sound Semiconductor, which is an improved modern version of the old SSM2040, designed by Dave Rossum, and which had been used in Oberheim synths and the early SCI Prophet-5.

The filter has a classic 24dB output and a 12dB state-variable multimode-filter. The three basic characteristic outputs LP/BP/HP can be cross-faded continuously with one parameter called shape.

Both filter outputs 24dB/12dB can be mixed independently.

The ADSR for the filter is fast and cuts in very quick and directly, the resonance is well adjustable.

The filter section contains an own LFO for the cutoff which is independent from the digital sound engine and has also 64 waveforms.

The ADSR for the filter is fast and cuts in very quick and directly, the resonance is well adjustable.

The filter section contains an own LFO for the cutoff which is independent from the digital sound engine and has also 64 waveforms.

The VCA is a fast transistor-vca which is important for snappy sounds. The same transistor-vca is used in all Jomox drum products. Therefore the ModFM can be used as a rich source for technoid drums and percussions of any kind.

On the analogue voice board there is another sound source: Metal Noise. It can be mixed into the filter independently from the digital engine (= FM synth) and offers again an inexhaustible pool of weird sounds.

FX:

The Mod FM D also has an FX section added: reverb and 2x delay. These only work on the stereo mix output. The delay can be beat-synchronized via midi clock and offers a very short delay time in millisecond range. That gives you flanging and oil-can-like effects.

Signal path

The signal path is completely analog, featuring two VCO per voice, a white noise source, a mixer, a 4-pole low pass VCF and a VCA. The control voltages are digitally generated, including 3 LFO, 2 ADSR-type envelope generators. Finally, it has a stereo digital effects processor with Delay and Chorus. LFO 1, LFO2 and the delay can be synced with the MIDI clock using a user selectable subdivision.

Oscillators

It features two VCO plus sub oscillator per voice. Each oscillator has 3 different waveforms: triangle, sawtooth and saw-tri (triangle+sawtooth). There is a fine-tuning adjustment and a transpose option, allowing tune adjustment up to +/- 2 octaves. Tuning can also be modulated with any of the three LFOs and EG1

Furthermore, each oscillator has a pulse wave that can be turned on or off, which is mixed with the other waveforms. Its pulse width can be modulated with LFO1 and/or EG1.

Oscillators can be hard synced, with oscillator 1 being the master and oscillator 2 the slave.

The autotuning algorithm takes about 2 seconds to complete. All the voices are tuned in parallel, making a lot faster than usual.

Mixer

The mixer can control the levels and mix the two oscillators, the suboscillators and the white noise or the external input (when the external input is connected, the white noise is disabled).

Filter

The filter is a 4-pole ladder-type low-pass filter with resonance control. It can be modulated with EG1, this modulation an also be affected by velocity. It can also be modulated with any of the 3 LFOs. On the other hand, it features keyboard tracking and it can be controlled by the modulation wheel or aftertouch.

Chorus

There are two types of chorus available: basic and ensemble. The Basic algorithm is subtle and allows you to add some spatiality tothe resulting sound, while the Ensemble algorithm adds a different dimension to the sound, simulating a string or vocal ensemble. The Basic algorithm uses two delay lines, while the Ensemble uses 4 delay lines. Each delay line has its own internal LFO. There are controls for rate, depth and mix.

Delay

The delay can be a stereo delay or a ping pong delay, with its maximum delay time being as long as 1.35s. It is possible to sync the delay to the MIDI clock too. If the delay is synced, the delay time knob controls the time division instead of the delay time. There are controls for the feedback and mix too.

LFOs

There are three LFOs available. LFO 1 and 2 have 5 waveshapes: triangle, ramp up, ramp down, square and random with sample and hold. LFO 3 has the first 4 waveforms and is activated with the modulation wheel and/or aftertouch.
LFO frequencies go from 0.1Hz to 100Hz. Additionally, LFO 1 and 2 have different modes:

Monophonic: The LFO is in phase for all of the voices.

Polyphonic: The LFO is generated to a slightly different frequency for all of the keys pressed. This allows an interaction of the phases, generating more complex modulations.

Keyboard Tracking (KB Tracking): The LFO frequency varies according to the note played following the chromatic scale.

Keyboard Sync (KB Sync): The LFO is restarted when a key is pressed. Each voice has its independent LFO.

Clock Sync: The frequency of the LFO is synced to the MIDI clock signal. The e7 automatically detects the BPM of the clock signal. It can be configured to generate different rhythmic figures.

Keyboard + Clock Sync: The LFO frequency will be a sub-division of the MIDI clock signal. Also, the LFO will be restarted each time a key is pressed.

Envelope generators

There are two ADSR-type envelope generators. There are controls for attack, decay, sustain and release. Attack and release can be modified by velocity and the envelope times have keyboard tracking.

Stereo

By default, the voices have a stereo panning from left to right. By adjusting the stereo spread, it is possible to set all voices to the center or set them from right to left. There is also a stereo motion option that allows this stereo spread to be adjusted by an LFO.

Presets

The synth can store up to 640 presets, 128 of them being multitimbral presets.

Multitimbral

The synth can have up to 4 multitimbral parts. Each part has its complete sound configuration, assignable MIDI channel, keyboard zone, velocity zone, transpose setting and MIDI filter. Additionally, each part can have different voice assignments and/or share some voices.
MIDI Polyphonic expression

MIDI Polyphonic expression is supported by the GS-e7. It was tested using GeoShred, allowing independent pitch control and cutoff for each voice.

GS Music Bree6 6-Voice Polyphonic Analogue Synthesiser (blue)
Cat: 1076276 Rel: 13 Mar 25

Polyphonic synthesiser featuring 6 individual voices with individual sub oscillators.
Notes: Blue version of the Bree6, GS Music's fully analogue six-voice synth module. Huge sonic power from the classic single-oscillator design, brought up to date with modern touches like balanced stereo outputs and USB control.

Supplier's Notes:
The Bree6 is a polyphonic analog synthesizer that features a fully analog sound generation. It offers six voices of polyphony, each equipped with a single voltagecontrolled oscillator (VCO), and a sub oscillator. The signal path includes a mixer, a 4-pole low-pass voltage-controlled ladder filter (VCF), and a voltage-controlled amplifier (VCA). The control signals are digitally generated, incorporating one low-frequency oscillator (LFO) and two ADSR-type envelope generators. Additionally, the Bree6 integrates an effects processor with chorus and delay.

The Bree6 interface is engineered for straightforward and intuitive use, featuring one knob per function and ensuring ease of access to its robust features, including MIDI connections, USB, balanced stereo audio outputs, headphone output, and CV inputs.

The signal path in the Bree6 is entirely analog, including a single VCO per voice, a sub oscillator, a mixer, a 4-pole low-pass ladder VCF, and a VCA. The control voltages are digitally generated, comprising one LFO and two ADSR-type envelope generators. It also features a stereo digital effects processor with Delay and Chorus.

The Bree6 features a single VCO plus a sub oscillator per voice. The oscillator includes sawtooth and pulse waveforms, with pulse width modulation control that can be modulated by the LFO. The oscillator tuning can be adjusted, and modulation can be applied from the LFO. The sub oscillator generates a square wave one octave below the main oscillator.

The Bree6's filter is a 4-pole ladder-type low-pass filter with resonance control. It can be modulated by EG1, with velocity affecting the modulation depth, and can also be modulated by the LFO. It can also be controlled by the modulation wheel and aftertouch.

The synthesizer offers a stereo ensemble type chorus effect. It simulates a string or vocal ensemble using multiple delay lines modulated by their dedicated LFOs. The stereo delay can reach a maximum delay time of up to 1 second.

The Bree6 contains one LFO with selectable waveforms (triangle, ramp up, ramp down, square, and random with sample and hold). The LFO's frequency can be set from 0.1Hz to 100Hz, and modulation can be applied to the VCO, VCF, and VCA.

There are two ADSR-type envelope generators in the Bree6, designed for precise control over the dynamics of both the filter and the amplifier.

Semi-modular analogue desktop synthesiser
Notes: A collaborative effort between the techno icon and one of the best synth brands around, the Bullfrog is designed to encourage newcomers to analogue synths while secretly packing killer sound and some innovative features.

Supplier's Notes:
Introducing Erica Synths X Richie Hawtin Bullfrog

Learn. Produce. Perform

Created by Erica Synths & Richie Hawtin, Bullfrog is an educational electronic music instrument designed to captivate and inspire both youth and professionals alike. Bullfrog invites you to unlock musicality while combining the thrill of electronic music production with a comprehensive learning experience.
Bullfrog is a classical subtractive synthesiser - it consists of several "modules" for sound generation - VCO, NOISE GENERATOR - and treatment - VCF, VCA/DELAY, as well as "modules" that generate control and modulation signals to control them - ENVELOPE GENERATORS and SAMPLE & HOLD. The Bullfrog will not make the sound on its own unless it is patched - using eurorack patch cables to interconnect the "modules" or by inserting voice cards that create internal connections between the "modules" in a specific way and add extra functionality, like sampler/looper, sequencer, groovebox, etc. This approach better helps to understand functionality of a subtractive synthesizer and the principles of sound design with instruments like these.

In order to provide a well rounded understanding of the functionality of this synthesizer and sound synthesis in general, a comprehensive user manual is created to accompany the learning process.

Electronic music with its rich traditions and innate sense of exploration at core is ever popular, with artists and fans stretching around the globe. For me, one of the most exciting parts of creating electronic music is the playful exploration that leads one deep into their own imagination. Whether the intention to create completely imagined or real-life inspired sounds, the route one takes to create is always personal and often surprising. It is within these experiments where the beauty of synthesis really comes alive and which often unlocks a new sense of creativity and purpose.

Whether someone's experience with Bullfrog points them down a career in electronic music or not, the goal is to both nurture the love for electronically produced sounds and promote the accessibility of learning and understanding the basics of sound synthesis.

Erica Synths believe that the hands-on approach and problem solving that is innate to synthesis on a semi-modular synth like the Bullfrog, contains life lessons that go beyond what we can hear.

Bullfrog encapsulates the foundations of synthesis and is built with an immediate, intuitive design and a unique expandable architecture that grows and expands together with the user's imagination. This instrument feels at home anywhere - as an educational tool in music and physics classes, as an addition to your basement studio or even as a tool for performance on a stage.

Cre8audio East Beast Analogue Semi-Modular Synthesiser
Cre8audio East Beast Analogue Semi-Modular Synthesiser (analogue semi-modular synthesiser)
Cat: 876339 Rel: 20 Jun 22

Fully analogue East Coast style semi-modular synthesiser.
Notes: Amazing value from this little Eurorack-compatible analogue synth. Loosely Moog-inspired semi-modular East Coast subtractive design with MIDI control and great sound.

Supplier's Notes:
East Beast

Fully analogue East Coast style semi-modular synthesizer

What's the first thing you think of when you hear the word "synthesiser"? Close your eyes and think about.

Anyway, for a lot of people, the word synthesiser invokes visions of big filter cutoff knobs, envelope generators, and importantly, big fat-sounding voltage-controlled oscillators. These are the hallmarks of East Coast-style synthesis.

East Beast is a fresh take on these old-school concepts with a few beastly twists thrown in here and there.

Furthermore, you can pop East Beast out of its included enclosure and it transforms right into a 40HP eurorack module
East Beast's oscillator, designed in partnership with Pittsburgh Modular Synthesizers, is a part of their 5th generation of analogue oscillators stemming from a super-serious 10 years of continued research into analogue oscillator development.

Its circuitry is not a clone or based on any outside designs. It is made with 100% modern components. This keeps it very stable, and giving it a super rich, and unique sound.

Most of the filters you are used to hearing are transistor ladder filters or copies of transistor ladder filters. East Beast's filter is not one of those. Pittsburgh's whole goal of making this filter for East Beast was to create a filter that's creamy smooth with no dead spots, a very common phenomenon in all filters, but check it out. This one's got no dead spots. From nasally to biting and elsewhere, it's all one large sweet spot.

East Beast's filter is a multi-mode filter, meaning it can be used as a low pass filter, high pass filter, bandpass filter, or a combination of the three for an even wider sonic palate.
Shape the beast in your own image
To further sculpt the sounds Cre8audio has included an envelope generator & LFO. The custom envelope circuit creates a snappy, percussive attack for expressive performance. The dual range LFO opens up a wide range of LFO and audio rate modulation possibilities.

Get patched.
Semi-modular means that the East Beast will work without any patch cables or anything. But what fun is that? Who doesn't want to have their own personal spaghetti mess of cables sticking out of their synthesizer to get wacky with?
East Beast has basically 9 different patchable modules (Oscillator, filter, envelope, VCA, LFO, multi-mod tool, sequencer, MIDI to CV converter, and button keyboard) with a whopping 18 Eurorack compatible patch points to plug into itself and your other gear. All for your patching pleasure.

As well as this, East Beast has MIDI in and a fancy MIDI thru so you can chain multiple MIDI monstrosities together- you can plug in a MIDI controller into East Beast and do as you wish.

But wait, there's more! East Beast includes quite a few additional performance features. You can dive in and dive in with its built-in tap tempo clock, arpeggiator, and sequencer. There's a lot of opportunities to inject in some randomness too.

Specifications for when used as a eurorack module

Width when used as a module = 40hp
Depth when used as a module = 25mm
213mA power draw when running +12V rail
151mA power draw when running -12V

Input voltage range of oscillator = 0-10V

Included in the box - 1x East Beast, 1x East Beast wall-wart power supply, 5x Amazing Nazca Noodles Patch Cables, 1x 3.5mm to 5 pin MIDI Din pigtail, and love (love's presence likely, but not guaranteed)

Buchla Easel Command Desktop Modular Analogue Synthesiser
Buchla Easel Command Desktop Modular Analogue Synthesiser (desktop modular analogue synthesiser)
Cat: 765879 Rel: 28 Jul 20

Desktop modular analogue synthesiser
Notes: Latest incarnation of Buchla's legendary modular synth. Massively creative with incredible sound and history stretching all the way back to the 1960s.

Supplier notes:
The evolution of the legendary modular analog synthesizer by Don Buchla. The Buchla Easel Command is the newly updated 208C in a standalone desktop form with MIDI and CV control.

Buchla's own Joel Davel led the charge to create a new version of the legendary Music Easel instrument with more modular flexibility and independence, while also providing the means to easily interface with more devices, such as the various DAWs like Ableton and MIDI controllers, including the very expressive Sensel Morph. It's still fully analog in its default configuration and provides the unique and exquisite Buchla experience with greater functionality at a lower cost.

Buchla Music Easel (Modern) Modular Analogue Synthesiser
Cat: 956175 Rel: 06 Feb 24

The development of Don Buchla's legendary modular analogue synthesiser.
Notes: Celebrating the 50th anniversary of this truly iconic synth, the 'modern' take on the classic Buchla Music Easel doesn't mess with a winning formula, paring the 208C sound source with 218e touch-sensitive keyboard.

Supplier's Notes:
The Buchla Music Easel was one of the first truly portable electronic music instruments. Fifty years ago, in 1973, only a few dozen were made. Unlike many iconic technologies, the influence was not grown through force of scale, but rather the force of the ideas. The Music Easel made available virtually every musical dimension: timbre, melody, rhythm, and time; how these dimensions intersected was no longer the court of acoustics and material, but signals and voltage. The 208 Stored Program Sound Source engendered "a new functional organization [with a] particularly rapid system of patching and program storage via plug-in cards."

Taking cues from the then-recent discipline of cybernetics, the 218 touch plate was for "real-time communication" to help realize the "potential vocabulary" of the Easel, rather than exploiting existing modes of musical virtuosity. The Stored Program Cards ensured rapid repeatability and repertoire on its own terms. The battery terminals made sure the music was as portable as any acoustic instrument. And the name let you know it was designed for art rather than science.

Buchla is ecstatic to revive the Music Easel for its third run in 50 years. Buchla first released the updated 208 Stored Program Sound Source, dubbed the Easel Command, with expanded MIDI and USB capability. Next came the update of the Easel Program Manager - a complete kit for storing and recalling sounds sources, even more rapidly than imagined in 1973. The new 218 Touch Activated Voltage Source provides the optimal input facility, as originally envisioned. It is now all together in a rugged case and the advanced EMBIO module that unifies all the audio and control inputs and outputs for integration with the rest of your musical world.

More than a retro novelty, the Music Easel still speaks to a future we strive for. A technology that invites conversation, not chats, and controls that engage expression, not work. There are many new worlds to explore in this instrument created at the crossroads of the jazz and computer ages. Designed as "an integrated assemblage of functions", rather than a collection of modules, the Music Easel's colour coding, comfortable access to controls, and solid patch connections allow for satisfying sessions of sonic discovery.

The Music Easel is available for pre-order starting June 16 at Buchla.com and your favourite Buchla Dealer. Delivery of the Music Easel (modern) is expected fall 2023.

Stored Program Sound Source Model 208C

The sound source of the Music Easel is the 208C, which includes a complex oscillator and a modulation oscillator (which can also serve as another voice), each with independent switchable waveforms, as well as a noise generator, allowing for rich and intricate sound design. The 208C also features a five-stage sequencer, envelope generator, pulser and modulation source - with switchable triggers - allowing for complex patterns and evolving textures. The dual low pass gate provides dynamic control over the tone and amplitude of the sound, as well as natural-sounding decay and sustain. The 208C has a number of modulation sources, including a random voltage generator, the envelope generator, modulation oscillator, and an envelope detector. These sources can be used to modulate various parameters via the extensive patchfield - creating movement, texture, and complexity. The 208C also includes a mixer section with spring reverb.

Touch Activated Voltage Source Model 218e (v3)

The first design appeared in the 1973 release of the Buchla Music Easel and named for the spacecraft that delivered astronauts to the moon. Providing the familiar piano key layout for this early mobile music machine, the additional controls and capabilities were an interface for exploring uncharted musical territory. With the new version 3, it's been elevated with a new foundation of stable, modern electronics with incredible sensitivity and accuracy - the lightest touch will produce triggers and control voltages. The adjustable sensor has the dynamic range and durability to handle your playing. The new texture not only improves the sensing, but provides a satisfying tactile experience. As always, pressure is an expressive output, adding an extra dimension to the control. MIDI outputs velocity and polyphony, as well as channel pressure, making the 218e a uniquely expressive controller. The 218e includes portamento and an arpeggiator, which can be driven by external inputs and are allowed to interact with the automated notes to make patterns more complex. Additional controls allow you to blend different patterns and randomness to easily change from the expected to the surprising. The classic preset voltage knobs offer several possible ways to shift your sounds into new territory. Not only can the knobs be used for quick access to voltages for your patch, they can control arpeggiation modes and octave shifting. Pads output pulses for additional control. The 218e also gives you a unique interface to playing your existing MIDI gear and soft synths. Each touch outputs note name, channel pressure, and velocity for every note, along with sustain controls from a pedal. Polyphonic MIDI mode lets you play chords. The touchstrip can act as a pitch bend control, or as a mod wheel for additional expressive control. Easily configured using the front panel controls, you can send notes and controls on any MIDI channel.

Electric Music Box Input/Output (EMBIO)

Maintaining the spirit, sound, and process from the original, the new Music Easel adds a variety of new features. Buchla's latest renditions of the Stored Program Sound Source and Touch Activated Voltage Source are tied together with the Electric Music Box Input/Output (EMBIO) module. This of course provides MIDI out (mini jack and USB) and CV out from the 218, MIDI in to the 208, and the audio out from the 208C. Additional creative control comes from the Audio Mixer, for integration with other Buchla modules and systems, and the CV conditioners and controls. The slew control can turn your sequencer into a wavy modulator, or soften up a square LFO. The attenuator and crossfader gives you the opportunity to find new levels and combinations of voltages from existing ones. The pulse converter offers new rhythms to trigger. And a simple LFO provides another valuable modulator when you just can't quite let yourself flip that Mod Osc switch from "high" to "low."

Buchla Music Easel (Retro) Modular Analogue Synthesiser
Cat: 956180 Rel: 27 Jun 24

The development of the legendary modular analogue synthesiser by Don Buchla.

The Music Easel (retro) is available for pre-order starting in June 16 at Buchla.com and your favorite Buchla Dealer with delivery expected in winter 2023.

With a FullTouch keyboard, unrivalled sonic palette and advanced software companion - it offers more sonic possibilities than any other analogue synthesiser.
Notes: One of the best synths money can buy. Hugely expressive PolyBrute engine expands to 12 voices with the same beguiling combination of FullTouch keyboard, Morphee control and ribbon strip. Immense

Supplier's Notes:
Unleashing the full power of PolyBrute

Continuing the legacy of its predecessor as one of the most powerful and expressive analogue synths ever made, PolyBrute 12 goes a step further.

A multi-faceted tool for musical expression, PolyBrute 12 lets you seamlessly evolve and control any parameters while playing. The input-perfect sensitivity of the keyboard, the bi-timbral morphing presets, the multi-axis Morphee controller, the Ribbon controller - all work in perfect harmony so you can breathe vitality and intricate dynamics into your sound.

PolyBrute's in-the-moment sonic display would not be possible without the raw energy of its Brute oscillators and dual enhanced classic filters. This, combined with its intuitive interface, elegant modulation Matrix and advanced software companion make PolyBrute 12 a synth for the ages - a matrimony of Brute force and human touch.

Full touch, full control

Discover a next-generation keybed and new aftertouch modes that bring you into a direct and tactile connection with your sound.

PolyBrute's patented FullTouch keyboard provides the exact position of every key across the entire range of movement. This not only allows for precise and dynamic aftertouch expression but it also puts versatility at PolyBrute's core - allowing you to go from regular playing modes to exceptional aftertouch and envelope control at the touch of a button.

You can also use PolyBrute 12 to control any MPE-compatible VST. If you don't have a MPE compatible DAW, you can still record expressively using MIDI 1.0, although at a lower resolution.

Mono Aftertouch

In this mode, the note is triggered by regular keyboard velocity and the classic aftertouch area corresponds to an assignable aftertouch signal, where all the voices receive the same level and amount of expression. Great for applying a unified modulation effect to a chord or phrase.

Morph between sonic worlds

Seamlessly blend from one patch to another and find that perfect middle ground

Each preset is made up of two sonic states, A & B. A dedicated Morph knob lets you seamlessly explore a continuum of sound between them. This, combined with the Morphee controller and PolyBrute's keyboard, paves the way for endless patch evolution and expressivity.

Analogue heart, seismic sound

PolyBrute's sound begins with two analogue VCOs sharing much of the same sonic architecture that has made the Brute family renowned.

Each oscillator generates sawtooth, triangle and square waves simultaneously, and you can mix between them to shape just the right signal source and timbre.

Dial in VCO 1's Metalizer wavefolding to escalate from pure to punchy. Bring in VCO 2's sub-oscillator to add an extra lower octave and some added rumble.

Dial in edgy FM effects by modulating VCO 1's frequency with VCO 2, or subtly alter a continuous range of harmonics with soft or hard sync.

1 VCF 1 Steiner

A 2-pole 12db/octave Steiner filter design with continuous sweepable slope types, as seen across the Brute range. The addition of the proprietary Brute Factor feedback control lets you add anything from subtle warmth to a electrified growl.

2 VCF 1 Ladder

Inspired by Dr. Bob Moog's legendary 4-pole 24db/octave ladder design. A low-pass classic, with added gain compensation and asymmetrical distortion to add upfront grit to your polyphonic patches.

Modern modulation sources

Modulation has always been essential in animating synth sounds.

PolyBrute weaves a web of envelopes and LFOs that's intricate and unpredictable in equal measure - a dynamic display of sonic motion.

Three Envelope Generators

PolyBrute's VCF and VCA have velocity-sensitive ADSR envelopes hardwired outside the Matrix for instant gratification. The third Envelope Generator features a delay stage (DADSR) and can be assigned to sculpt any Matrix modulation targets. Use the various repeat and loop modes to add complex movement to your patches.

Three LFOs

PolyBrute's three syncable LFOs span an extremely wide range - facilitating anything from beautiful evolving soundscapes to clangorous audio-range modulation. Options for waveshaping, polarity and retriggering let you take your sound way outside the box. Experiment with Matrix routing and tempo/MIDI sync for hyper-rhythmic effects.

Enter the matrix

The flexibility of modular patching combined with digital precision and analogue richness makes for a transcendent polysynth experience.

32 target parameters, 64 connections in total. Rearrange PolyBrute's signal chain with the touch of a single button. Dial in positive or negative amounts, intuitively assign one or more destinations via any relevant controls, instantly route PolyBrute's array of performance controllers and advanced modulation sources to influence just about anything in the instrument's chain - all without a convoluted array of wires.

But the Matrix doesn't just take care of PolyBrute's all-encompassing modulation routing - it's the centrepiece of every aspect of its architecture. In Presets mode, use the Matrix to select any of the 768 patch memory locations. Morph mode accesses advanced morph state editing. Sequencer mode transforms the Matrix into an intuitive visual pattern editor.

ARP 2600M Semi-Modular Analogue Synthesiser
ARP 2600M Semi-Modular Analogue Synthesiser (analogue desktop synthesiser)
Cat: 810345 Rel: 21 Jan 22

Downsized remake of Arp 2600 FS semi-modular synthesiser
Notes: The ARP 2600 is arguably the most iconic and recognizable synthesizer of all time. Having been used in countless records, film scores, TV shows and game soundtracks since its appearance from the 70's through to today, the ARP 2600's sound remains an essential part of the music world.

The new ARP 2600 M delivers the sound admired around the world, in a more compact and portable format and including added features that make it the ideal incarnation of this historic synth.

When the ARP 2600 FS was announced in January 2020, it quickly became a phenomenal success with musicians all over the world recognizing the faithfulness to the original ARP 2600.

The ARP 2600 M is around 60% the original size, making it lighter, more portable and easier to place and use in a studio. It integrates the same analogue circuitry and components as the ARP 2600 FS, thus faithfully reproducing the characteristic ARP sound.

The ARP 2600 M is built in Japan with the same care and extraordinary quality standard as the ARP 2600 FS, and uses the same analogue components to accurately reproduce the sound and feel of the original.

The Spring Reverb has been re-engineered and adapted to the new size body to the same lush effect.

The ARP 2600 M comes with a dedicated Carry Case that not only protects your instrument, but also makes it easier to transport, thanks to its custom casters with special anti-shock damping technology.

There is also enough space to carry other gear together, like your favourite volca, SQ-64 or MIDI controller!

It is not by chance that the ARP 2600 has been so extremely popular to this day.

More than a synthesizer, the ARP 2600 M is a complete sound design studio. Even today, the ARP 2600 stands as a bridge between the individual elements of modular synthesis and the immediacy of a production / performance instrument. Included are an ample supply of oscillators, envelopes, a filter and amplifier - all of the building blocks of analogue synthesis. But the ARP 2600 M goes even further, with a spring reverb tank and even a pair of built-in monitor speakers. Also present is much of the versatility of a vintage modular system, including a ring modulation, lag and voltage processors, an envelope follower, audio preamp, a clock-able switch, noise source, a sample-and-hold module, signal inverters, an auxiliary mixer, and even a set of parallel-wired/multi jacks.

The new ARP 2600 M is not only faithful to the original, it also includes an array of added features that will make it even easier to use:

Plug and play: Connect any class compliant MIDI controller such as a KORG microKeys, nanokeys or SQ-64 to one of the ARP 2600 M's USB ports (USB-A and USB-B) and automatically get full control of your instrument!

Resized: The new size makes it easier to visualize your patch and also allows you to use shorter patch cables

Filter Choice: Two types of filters from two versions of the original ARP 2600(4012 type, 4072 type)

More MIDI: 5-Pin DIN plug MIDI IN added

Modern Control: Pitch-bend, Modulation, Portamento ON/OFF and Portamento ON/OFF can be controlled through MIDI CC messages (USB/DIN MIDI)

Normalized voltage: The threshold of the trigger signal required to activate the ADSR through the S/H GATE JACK has been reduced from 10V to 5V, making it much easier to use in combination with other gear such as volcas or Eurorack modules

Tweaked Parameters: Improved Attack and Release time ratios

Easy Connections: L/R Stereo Output Jack (instead of XLR)

Speakers turn automatically off when using headphones- improved, smoother sliders

Celebrating the rebirth of this iconic synth, the first 1000 units will come with a special colour road case, as well as a KORG microKEY2-37 so you can start playing right away!

The ARP 2600 FS comes with a diverse variety of music software from Izotope including "Ozone Elements" which lets you not only create songs but also master them using AI, "Skoove" which will help you improve your keyboard playing skills, "Reason Lite" DAW software, as well as software synths from KORG and other brands.

In other words, the moment you get your hands on this synthesizer you'll have a variety of tools to help you take your music to the next level.

Analogue Solutions Ample Analogue Patch Pin Matrix Synthesiser
Cat: 969341 Rel: 11 Sep 23

Analogue patch pin matrix synthesiser with jack sockets, generator style sequencer, touch pads and echo.
Notes: Like a greatest hits of recent Analogue Solutions synths, the Ample combines sound elements from the Fusebox with jack patch points, a patch pin matrix, plus sequencer and CV touch pads from the Generator, creating something new and unique.

Supplier's Notes:
Ample combines the best elements of several of Analogue Solutions' recent products.

The sound elements of Fusebox
Jack patch points of Concussor Eurorack
Patch pin matrix of Vostok
Echo from Dr Strangelove
Sequencer and CV touch pads of Generator

It shares all this yet still has its own sound!

Ample can be as complex or as simple as you want it to be

This synth has been given a large and diverse number of controls, that along side the patch sockets, will give even the best and experienced synthesist endless possibilities.

This synth presents the controls in a user friendly and familiar synth layout that, together with this manual and other resources, enable even the new guy to get great sounds.

Synth - Percussion - Audio Processor

Ample is a compact analogue synthesizer. Analogue - as in really analogue. Aside from the MIDI chip (which has to be digital), everything else is totally analogue using real transistors and op-amps. There are no CPU stabilised and quantised circuits, no DCOs, no digital LFOs and no digital EGs, as found on other so called analogue synths. The circuitry is based on designs dating back to the mid-1970s. So Ample has a genuine old sound.

Circuits included

3x Analogue Oscillators

There are three analogue VCOs - each providing a wealth of features and modulation choices. VCO3 can easily be utilised as a LFO.

2x Analogue Low Frequency Oscillator

LFO2(/Sync) has a triangle wave output. VCO3 can be used as an LFO and has Saw, Triangle and Square wave modulation signals.

Analogue Filter

Ample uses a four pole 24bB per octave low pass filter.

Analogue Amplifier

The VCA can be set to THRU so it is always 'open'. This allows Ample to be used as an effects processor.

2x Analogue Envelopes

There are two EGs - each having full control over ATTACK, DECAY, SUSTAIN, and RELEASE.

Modulation

Great thought has been placed into modulation route choices, allowing a wide range of sounds to be produced, including percussion and 'modular' sounds further extended by patching with the jack sockets and pin matrix.

MIDI

MIDI is intentionally kept simple - so you can concentrate on making new sounds and making music - not getting tied up with SYSEX programming.

You get the all important control over filter cut-off using MIDI Velocity.

Patchable External CV Control Sockets

Ample has many input and output audio and CV sockets - to allow the synth to be effectively re-wired to make new sounds.

The sockets also enable it to be easily used with Eurorack and other modular systems. They can be patched together.

Sequencer

Ample has a vintage style 16 step sequencer.

Touch Keys

There are 6 touch keys that each output a set voltage. Use this to play the pitch or as modulation signals. A great tool for inspiration!

Pin Matrix

A neat way to patch the synth.

Echo

Nice lo-fi echo / delay.
