Notes: The Morphagene music synthesizer module is a next generation tape and microsound music module that uses Reels, Splices and Genes to create new sounds from those that already exist. Search between the notes to find the unfound sounds.

The Mimeophon music synthesiser module is a stereo, multi-zone colour audio repeater by Make Noise and soundhack, coded by Tom Erbe.

The Mimeophon (from Greek mimeo (repeat/copy) and phon (sound)) is a modern take on various historical sound copying, echo and repeating devices. It allows for Stereo modulations of Time, Space and Timbre of Mono or Stereo sound sources. The Mimeophon is capable of modulating and morphing time scales of repeated sound from micro-sound to note to phrase length while also colouring and spatializing the repeats.

Notes: Glitchy business with this digital module based on the sound of scratched CDs, buggy software and failing hardware. Stereo in and out with up to five minutes sampling time.

Data Bender is a circuit bent digital audio buffer. It is inspired by the ways in which audio equipment can fail. The sounds of skipping CDs, software bugs, and defective tape machine playback are all accessible. The audio buffer can hold up to five minutes of stereo audio, providing a sonic canvas capable of infinite surprises and discovery.

Notes: Eight channels of audio and CV sampling with real-time editing and processing. Does basic sampling well but quickly gets creative and weird.

The 'Squid Salmpler' is a Eurorack 8 channel audio & CV sampler. It is designed for immediate real time sampling, editing and mangling within a modular context.

Taking influence from early hardware samplers, The Squid Salmple focuses on usability and instinctive operation, incorporating a proven Pamela's Workout style user interface for minimal screen dependence and a fun, hands on experience.

With support for sampling and playback for both audio and CV, as well as CV control of all parameters, on-the-fly bank loading and saving to USB, The Squid Salmple brings a unique take on old school sampling into the modular realm.

The Squid Salmple comes with a USB Stick containing approximately 90 banks of original carefully curated royalty free samples. This includes a wide range of sounds from classic drum machines and weird synths to field recordings and CV modulations. Notes: Performance oriented Sample Drum brings you two independent drum sounds or loops with plenty of manual and CV controlled parameters. Samples are stored on the microSD card, and OLED screen makes working with samples instant and easy.

Sample Drum allows you to slice up loops directly in your modular system and rearrange them to taste. For processing, there are tuning functions (including 1 v/octave pitch tracking) and virtual VCAs plus AD envelopes. Thanks to the module's dual-channel concept, two loops can be combined. It is also possible to load one-shot samples instead of entire rhythms, of course. A total of six CV inputs guarantees lively results.

Sample Drum is composed of two identical audio players. WAV files (including cue points) are fed to the module via a micro SD card. Loops can be cut into several sections using the Data, Start and End potentiometers. The resulting slices may be played back in any order imaginable. A tune control allows real-time pitch changes. Additionally, there is a virtual VCA plus AD envelope per slice. - But that's not all! There are three CV inputs per channel, which can be routed to any parameters. It is even possible to play sounds according to the 1 v / octave standard. Results are emitted via one output per player.

Notes: Announcing the Dual Looping Delay from 4ms Company, designed by Gary Hall!

The 4ms Dual Looping Delay (or DLD) is an advanced audio processor for creative synthesis. Not a tape or analog emulation but a modern crystal-clear digital delay, the DLD combines features of delay, looping, and sample-tight synchronization for powerful and dynamic sound capture and modification. The DLD is designed to integrate seamlessly with modular time-base and sequencing devices such as the 4ms Quad Clock Distributor (QCD), etc.

What is a "Looping Delay"?
Modern looping devices grew directly from hardware digital delays of the late 70s and early 80s. A looping delay, modelled on units such as the classic Lexicon PCM42, has the very long storage times associated with dedicated looping, but without triggered record and playback functions.

By default, a looping delay records and plays continuously, though recording can be suspended at any time with Infinite Repeat. Sustain of delays and loops is mainly accomplished with regeneration, allowing an organic, evolving approach to sound creation as new material replaces old, more or less gradually. The 4ms Dual Looping Delay also provides advanced clock input and output facilities that allow for locking delayed and looped material with sequencers and rhythm devices of all descriptions.

These samples are stored inside the provided SD card, and organized as kits, from A00 to Z99... allowing up to 2600 banks of 4 voices, with on-the-fly loading! The SD card is preloaded with tons of samples, and we made it very easy to import your own kits.

Thanks to the DC coupled audio outputs, it's also possible to play CV waveforms.

Effects rack

Each voice has its own "rack" of effects, and all audio effects can be enabled at the same time, allowing you to manipulate your samples in real time, from a gentle lowpass to massive destruction!

pitch - a great sounding pitch engine, based on a 6-pole interpolator, which ranges from -1 octave to +1 octave.

bits - two different bitcrushing algorithms, based on sample rate and resolution reduction. It produces distortion and warms the audio signal.

filter - a low resonance filter, DJ-style, cutting off the high frequencies or the low frequencies.

freeze - sample and loop a fraction of the played waveform, creating a glitching effect.

levels - decrease the gain or drive the signal.

It's also possible to edit 'advanced parameters' like the start point, sample length, attack/decay and run mode, and create mute groups without breaking a sweat.

Finally, thanks to the 4 CV inputs, any of the effects (or advanced parameters) can be assigned to create amazing modulations!

Multi-layer sampling

One of the key feature is the ability to "multi-sample" your kits, multiplying Rample's potential. Each voice supports up to 12 samples, can be played randomly or in a controlled fashion. It's a great way to add complexity and variations, to create organic/acoustic sounding drums, or simply to increase the number of samples per kit (up to 48).

As an example, Squarp are providing a multi-layered drum kit, with 12 different recordings of a kick, 12 different recordings of a snare, etc. Sequencing them randomly leads to a more natural drum playing.

Another kind of multi-layered acoustic drum kit is also provided, where each drum is recorded with 12 levels of velocity. Controlling the layer to be played leads to intricate, convoluted drums programming.

Of course, it's very easy to create your own multi-layered kit, and you can use this method to perform multiple synth chords, sound glitches, voices, breakbeats, ...

CV/Gate and Midi interface

Rample is designed to be the perfect rhythmic companion of your eurorack system thanks to its Gate (trig samples) and CV (modulate samples) connectivity.

You can also use it as a standalone midi machine, without using the CV/Gate connectivity: the midi in port allows you to trig & control all samples parameters + effects values at the same time. Each Rample comes with a 'stereo jack to midi DIN' and 'stereo jack to jack' adapters, easing the chaining of multiple modules in order to create an 8-voice, 12-voice, 16-voice (or more) midi drum machine!

Nebulae is a granular sampler and DSP platform. Its phase vocoder audio engine provides elastic audio, which can be time stretched, granularized, and mangled to no end. With independent control over pitch and speed, and granular controls such as overlap, window, and density, finding new sonic territory is only a knob turn away. Nebulae can use live audio input, a recorded buffer, or audio files as the source material for its powerful audio manipulations. The live input buffer can record up to five minutes of stereo audio at 48kHz, 24 bit. In addition, up to 75 MB of stereo audio can be loaded simultaneously through the USB port. No naming convention or special formatting necessary; just plug and play.

Nebulae lives a double life as an open source DSP platform with an extensive library of off the shelf alternate instruments. You can turn the module into a lush reverb, spectral delay, or tape-style looper simply by loading a new file onto the flash drive. Do you want to tweak one aspect of an existing instrument, even the default functionality? No problem. No prior coding knowledge is necessary to tweak and refine existing firmware to your liking or start with one of our templates. Intellijel's design goal for Sealegs was to create the warmest, most musical and organic delay module possible - something that would sweeten and enhance any audio one chose to feed into it. As such, great care has gone into modelling the most distinctive and desirable sonic characteristics of three different types of delay circuits: Tape; Bucket Brigade, and Crossfading Digital.

A plethora of onboard controls enable you to dial in exactly the sound you want; synced or un-synced delays times (for both left and right channels); a built-in modulator with seven morphing waveshapes, a Wow & Flutter emulation, and an envelope follower; plus dedicated low- and high-pass filters; built-in hiss & crackle noises; per-model colour controls; a spacious reverb; and a re-configurable signal flow through the unit. Notes: The Intellijel/Cylonix RAINMAKER eurorack-format module provides a high-quality (96KHz sampling rate with 32-bit internal processing) stereo rhythmic delay and stereo comb resonator effect.

The stereo rhythm delay has 16 taps, each with its own resonant 2nd-order filter and granular pitch shifter. The filters have independently adjustable resonance and cutoff frequency, and can be set to either lowpass, bandpass, highpass or bypass operation. The filters are also capable of self-oscillation, enabling modal synthesis techniques. The granular pitch shifters have a range of 15 semitones up or 16 semitones down. Each tap can repeat at a rate value set in tap#'s in order to create regenerating echo effects. The feedback signal has a lowpass/highpass tone control and its own pitch shifter. The tap delay times can range from 0.1 millisecond up to a maximum of 20 seconds. The overall delay times can be set with the rotary encoder, the tap tempo button, or synced to an external clock.

The stereo comb resonator section has 64 time-delayed taps which are summed together. This produces a deep comb filter or resonating effect. At large comb sizes (long time delays) a multiple echo effect is produced. The density of the resonator can be varied from 2 to 64 taps. The tap with the longest delay time is fed back to the input. High feedback levels, with short comb sizes, produce "Karplus-Strong" types of plucked string sounds. The relative timing of the 64 taps are set according to one of 16 different preset patterns, which provide different resonator timbres or echo rhythms. The comb size can be set either with the rotary encoder, an external clock or through a transposable 1v/oct input voltage.

The Rainmaker module has extensive voltage control capabilities. Direct voltage control is available for the delay feedback level and tone, the global pitch shift for all delay taps, the comb resonator size, and comb feedback level. There are two assignable modulation inputs, which can be assigned to different parameters in each preset. A trigger input with assignable functionality can trigger built-in types of noise bursts, freeze the delay buffer, reverse the delay, randomize parameters, mute taps, and much more.

Notes: Compact take on the Bitbox sampler, also offered as the larger Mk2 version. Touchscreen-based design allowing up to eight stereo samples, recording directly or loaded from SD card.

Notes: Another cracker from Xaoc, the Timiszoara is a take on digital multi-effects with stereo in and out, an intuitive interface and CV control of effect parameters. Big power with 176 factory programs.

Timiszoara is a stereo, Eurorack compatible, voltage-controlled multi-effect signal processor based on the popular Spin Semiconductor FV-1 DSP chip. It features a full stereo signal path with two adjustable audio inputs, two outputs, and a stereo voltage-controlled wet/dry mixer. In addition, there is a microSD memory card slot on the front panel that allows for loading factory and custom effects without any restrictions or copyright protection, which means you can use many effects available on the Internet and even create your own.

Effect programs are organized in banks of 8 and can be selected using a rotary encoder, as well as CV and trigger signals. Timiszoara features a crisp OLED screen that displays the program parameters and its name. It also facilitates navigating the list of banks. Up to three parameters per effect can be controlled from the front panel with illuminated slider potentiometers and dedicated CV inputs.

Xaoc Devices have prepared quite a few banks of algorithms (176 in total) that cover most effects needs: delays, reverbs, filters, modulation effects (such as choruses and flangers), pitch shifters, and, of course, shimmers (no multi-effects unit would be complete without its share of those). However, Xaoc Devices wanted to ensure that users had access to some more adventurous programs, so some special banks have been created to allow you to take a walk on the wild side.

Endless Processor always listens to audio input and keeps a most recent history. Experiment with sustaining little bits of a sample or make a massive wall of sound with the ability to select how much memorized audio to process.

Stack your sounds to create harmonies, textures, or drones with 5 layers per channel. Each layer can be re-processed or cleared while keeping other ones in place. Set fade-in and fade-out time to quickly or gradually introduce a new layer or remove the existing one.

The ASSIMIL8OR is a CV/Gate-controllable sampler with eight independent channels. Each channel is not only its own voice, but also has a separate audio output and a gate/trigger and three CV inputs. Given ever get two sample inputs and main outputs. Thus, Stereo Sampling and playback is possible. Mixed operation of stereo or mono is possible and is limited only by the maximum number of eight channels or parts.

The ASSIMIL8OR works with high-quality 24-bit AD and DA converters. Internally, however, sample and bit rate for lo-fi sound can be lowered, the latter is even CV-controllable. The samples can also be otherwise manipulated in many ways. Thus, the phase of a sample via CV or a different sample can be modulated. Likewise, the loop points can be controlled and the sample can be traversed with CV control (scrubbing), whereby wavetable similar effects could be achieved. Notes: Sarajewo is an analog delay module based on old school (but newly manufactured) BBD (Bucket Brigade Delay) chips. Notes: LYRA8-FX is a processor that can give you a significant part of the mysterious LYRA-8 sound thanks to the FX section from the LYRA-8, expanded with CV controls and packed into a Eurorack module.

It contains a double modulated lo-fi delay with cross-feedback and the unique possibility of self-modulation, where the delay output signal modulates its own sample rate. Notes: The Stereo Triggered Sampler can record high quality stereo files, while simultaneously playing two different stereo files. A maximum of 600 samples can be loaded from the removable/swappable microSD card, in a variety of formats up to 96kHz/32-bit/stereo WAV. All sample parameters (1V/oct pitch, sample file selection, length, and start position) are CV controllable.

600 Samples:
A maximum of 600 samples can be loaded at once, arranged into banks of 10 samples each. Samples and banks can be re-arranged on the fly using the simple on-board Edit features. Newly recorded samples can be instantly played back and re-pitched, reversed, chopped up, etc... the result of which can even be bounced down and re-recorded to as a new sample! Sample files are limited to 4GB each, which is over 6 hours at 44k/16b/stereo.

Two Stereo Playback Channels:
Each playback channel has a knob and CV jack for Sample File selection, as well as a Start Position knob and CV jack for controlling where in the sample playback will begin. The Length knob and CV jack determine how much of the sample is played back: from tiny grains, to percussive hits, to longer loops... or just the entire file. These are powerful tools for re-arranging a sample, joining multiple samples, and creating dynamically re-sized loops within a larger sample. Combined with the Play Trigger jack and the 1V/oct jack, the STS can be two complete multi-timbral pitch-tracked stereo voices!
There's also a Reverse button and jack for backwards playback, and an End Out jack for synchronizing loops, or cascading sample playback with other events.

Looping and Sync:
Looping is easy: just hold the PLAY button down for two seconds to toggle loop or one-shot. The loop timing clock will output from the End Out jack. Or, send a clock into the Play Trig jack to sync the loop to external timing.

Stereo Recording:
Whether you patched 47 modules to create the ultimate percussive blast, or you want to capture your four hour ambient performance, recording high-quality .wav files on the STS is simple. Just hit the REC button or fire a trigger and a new stereo .wav file will be created on the SD card. Do as many takes as you need: the STS never deletes your files. Re-ordering or re-arranging samples into banks is easy, even without a computer.
You can even fill a bank with 10 different variations and immediately use them for playback.
By default the STS records at 44.1kHz/16-bit, with an option for 24-bit (a future update may increase the sample rate to 96kHz)

Easy sample loading:
Using a computer is completely optional with the STS, since samples can be recorded directly to the module and placed into the bank of your choosing. But for users with large existing sample banks, the intuitive automatic bank loading features make dragging and dropping your entire sample library a snap. You never have to rename your files again!

Notes: Collabing with YouTube sensation Andrew Huang, Endorphin.es offer up this impressive multipurpose processor module. Building blocks of stereo filtering, compression, reverb and more offer huge creative potential.

Notes: Part of Xaoc's Leibniz binary system, the Rostock is a digital delay line capable of processing triggers, audio, CV and video signals. Another useful module from the unique Leibniz series.

Rostock is a component of the Leibniz Binary Subsystem. It is a data pipeline, a FIFO (first in - first out) shift register, or a very short digital delay. The module operates similarly to a BBD delay or an ASR (analogue shift register), except that it is digital. It consists of a chain of memory cells that pass bits from one to another at each clock cycle. The delay length is variable from 1 to 64 stages (with optional looping and scrambling). It works by processing data in the Leibniz bus and must be connected to other Leibniz modules using data ribbon cables at the back. Rostock may process data sequences representing rhythms, control voltages, audio-rate signals, and even video signals because the bits can change at extreme rates (up to 2MHz). In addition, its memory may be digitally looped. Delaying and looping is a fundamental building block for sequence automation, pattern and chaos generation, and various cybernetic modular patches. Thus, Rostock is a multi-purpose open-ended device that invites creative thinking.

Notes: Bucket brigade delay gets pushed into exciting creative territory with this beauty from Joranalogue. Precise analogue delay with loads of character, capable of simple chorus and flanger or more exotic Karplus-Strong synthesis and comb filtering.

While digital audio processors are often plagued by latency issues, analogue circuits are known for their instant response. But what if you want to delay a signal on purpose, without the use of tape or digital memory? Enter the bucket brigade delay (BBD) line: a series of capacitor 'buckets', which pass the incoming signal along at a high rate in order to delay it.

Delay 1 is a fully analogue BBD-based delay module with a multitude of features geared towards modern musical use. An integrated temperature-compensated, high-frequency voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) provides the 'clock' signal necessary to drive the delay line within 1 to 50 ms.

By increasing the drive frequency to over 20 kHz, the classic 'BBD clock whine' problem is solved, while still providing a wide range in delay time. Classic chorus, flanger and echo effects are easily achieved using the dry/wet blend, feedback and damping parameters.

To greatly reduce distortion and noise, Delay 1 includes a newly developed control circuit. The improved fidelity is maintained at a multitude of signal levels by an integrated high-performance compander, while maintaining signal dynamics.

The module's 'split phase' topology provides two different dry/wet mixes, which may be used to convert mono signals to stereo, for complementary comb filtering and more.

Delay 1 also allows you to experiment with Karplus-Strong synthesis, an exciting technique to create string and percussion type sounds. This is made easy by an integrated noise transient generator, driven by the 'pluck' input, and by the clock VCO's 1 volt per octave response.

By re-engineering the classic analogue delay line, Delay 1 brings the unique magic of BBDs into the contemporary electronic musician's arsenal.

The Erica Synths Black BBD is one of kind analogue delay module. It features two BBD lines: short, 1024 stage and long, 4096 stage, that work simultaneously and you can smoothly fade between those two, thus creating distinct multitap effect.

Furthermore, an advanced BBD clock noise cancellation circuit is implemented that reduces unwanted BBD noise without filtering higher frequencies of audio signal. Most of parameters are voltage controlled, which allows to integrate the module in complex modular setups.

Time

This is delay time manual control.

Because of BBD clock suspension circuit, delay time can be pushed in extremely long regions, however in that case BBD clock noise may appear. The Time CV is added to the knob setting.

In level

This is the input attenuator switch. Select among full amplitude, half amplitude and audio off.

BBD mode

This control smoothly fades between short and long delays. Any setting in-between will result in distinct multitap delay effect.

LFO rate

Adjust the internal modulation LFO rate. The internal LFO controls delay time, and it's automatically disengaged, when an external modulation signal is connected. The LED gives visual feedback on the LFO rate.

LFO shape

Select the LFO shape. Three shapes are available - triangle, square and in-between shape - mix of triangle and square.

Input

This is the audio input of the module. This is manual Dry/Wet mix. The MIX CV is added to the knob setting.

Colour

Even though the module has BBD clock suspension circuit, the colour switch provides extra lowpass filtering of the signal. At top setting no filtering is applied, at lower settings increasing filtering is present.

Feedback

This is the delay feedback manual control. In extreme clockwise settings the module goes into self-oscillation, and by adjusting delay time and BBD mode settings, the module becomes a drone machine. The FBK CV is added to the knob setting.

CV level

This is the Time CV level attenuator. If nothing is patched into TIME CV socket, it controls the internal LFO amplitude.

WET out

This is the WET signal output of the module - use it for advanced patches.

Notes: Crush Delay v3 is a special Echo-Delay unit based on the PT2399 IC, which is able to offer 400ms of clean delay and up to 2 seconds of dirty repetitions, having a special talent to generate noisy-glitch textures. The module bases its operation on controlling the PT2399 chip with circuit bending techniques, converting the unit in an advanced VC digital trash generator. This third version comes with some interesting new features like redesigned VCAs circuits, wider range for clean delay and reduced depth to make it skiff friendly.

The module features a few VCAs to provide a flexible signal route to maximize module's possibilities. First two VCAs at the inputs to control the amount of signal sent to the delay. The first is routed to both the dry/wet mix and the delay, and the second directly to the delay. Combining the second VCA and the FX Send output allows external feedback routings.

Compared with v2, this third version offers a bigger range of clean delay time as well as a revision of some of the Crush modifiers. Combining those modifiers you will have a access to a vast palette of noises and textures that can be used in many different ways. From ambient/drone patches to even percussion sounds.

The VC Feedback features an automatic gain control to keep levels stable at any feedback level.

Echo Cinematic is a practical stereo effects device inspired by the dub music culture that emerged from Jamaica and landed in London during the early 1980s. Analogue tape delays were routinely patched into the mixing desk through a channel strip, to be EQ'd and fed back to themselves via the FX send bus. The engineer could manipulate the EQ and FX send controls to create a constantly evolving rhythmic texture, a feedback loop teetering on the edge of self-oscillation. Echo Cinematic does away with the need for a sophisticated mixing desk and expands on this principle with a versatile resonant filter and five independent sources of automation built into the module; two LFOs for both EQ and delay modulation, a 30 second knob recorder capable of simultaneously controlling every knob on the front panel, and two external CV inputs, instantly assignable to any control as you insert a patch cable.

The EQ section features three filter types: a high/low-pass filter, a peak/notch filter, and a classic comb filter. Each of these can be patched into either the feedback loop (Dub Mode), the delay output, or the entire signal path, including the dry signal. In a typical digital effect the dry signal gets converted to digital, causing conversion noise and latency. Signals are often attenuated before combining digital dry and wet, with makeup gain amplifying the conversion noise. To avoid this scenario, Strymon have equipped Magneto with a completely analog dry path. Why go to all this trouble? Because the improvements in dynamic range and reduction in noise are so dramatic.
