Notes: The Intellijel/Cylonix RAINMAKER eurorack-format module provides a high-quality (96KHz sampling rate with 32-bit internal processing) stereo rhythmic delay and stereo comb resonator effect.

The stereo rhythm delay has 16 taps, each with its own resonant 2nd-order filter and granular pitch shifter. The filters have independently adjustable resonance and cutoff frequency, and can be set to either lowpass, bandpass, highpass or bypass operation. The filters are also capable of self-oscillation, enabling modal synthesis techniques. The granular pitch shifters have a range of 15 semitones up or 16 semitones down. Each tap can repeat at a rate value set in tap#'s in order to create regenerating echo effects. The feedback signal has a lowpass/highpass tone control and its own pitch shifter. The tap delay times can range from 0.1 millisecond up to a maximum of 20 seconds. The overall delay times can be set with the rotary encoder, the tap tempo button, or synced to an external clock.

The stereo comb resonator section has 64 time-delayed taps which are summed together. This produces a deep comb filter or resonating effect. At large comb sizes (long time delays) a multiple echo effect is produced. The density of the resonator can be varied from 2 to 64 taps. The tap with the longest delay time is fed back to the input. High feedback levels, with short comb sizes, produce "Karplus-Strong" types of plucked string sounds. The relative timing of the 64 taps are set according to one of 16 different preset patterns, which provide different resonator timbres or echo rhythms. The comb size can be set either with the rotary encoder, an external clock or through a transposable 1v/oct input voltage.

The Rainmaker module has extensive voltage control capabilities. Direct voltage control is available for the delay feedback level and tone, the global pitch shift for all delay taps, the comb resonator size, and comb feedback level. There are two assignable modulation inputs, which can be assigned to different parameters in each preset. A trigger input with assignable functionality can trigger built-in types of noise bursts, freeze the delay buffer, reverse the delay, randomize parameters, mute taps, and much more.

Intellijel's design goal for Sealegs was to create the warmest, most musical and organic delay module possible - something that would sweeten and enhance any audio one chose to feed into it. As such, great care has gone into modelling the most distinctive and desirable sonic characteristics of three different types of delay circuits: Tape; Bucket Brigade, and Crossfading Digital.

A plethora of onboard controls enable you to dial in exactly the sound you want; synced or un-synced delays times (for both left and right channels); a built-in modulator with seven morphing waveshapes, a Wow & Flutter emulation, and an envelope follower; plus dedicated low- and high-pass filters; built-in hiss & crackle noises; per-model colour controls; a spacious reverb; and a re-configurable signal flow through the unit. In addition, attenuverted modulation inputs abound - ensuring the delay ebbs and flows with your musical needs.

Timiszoara is a stereo, Eurorack compatible, voltage-controlled multi-effect signal processor based on the popular Spin Semiconductor FV-1 DSP chip. It features a full stereo signal path with two adjustable audio inputs, two outputs, and a stereo voltage-controlled wet/dry mixer. In addition, there is a microSD memory card slot on the front panel that allows for loading factory and custom effects without any restrictions or copyright protection, which means you can use many effects available on the Internet and even create your own.

Effect programs are organized in banks of 8 and can be selected using a rotary encoder, as well as CV and trigger signals. Timiszoara features a crisp OLED screen that displays the program parameters and its name. It also facilitates navigating the list of banks. Up to three parameters per effect can be controlled from the front panel with illuminated slider potentiometers and dedicated CV inputs.

Xaoc Devices have prepared quite a few banks of algorithms (176 in total) that cover most effects needs: delays, reverbs, filters, modulation effects (such as choruses and flangers), pitch shifters, and, of course, shimmers (no multi-effects unit would be complete without its share of those). However, Xaoc Devices wanted to ensure that users had access to some more adventurous programs, so some special banks have been created to allow you to take a walk on the wild side.

Notes: Module A-199 is a spring reverb module. The reverb effect is electronically simulated by means of 3 spiral springs. Spring reverb systems have a very characteristic sound that is based on the (insufficient) mechanical properties of the springs like signal delays, audio resonances, limited frequency range, acoustic feedback behaviour, sensitivity to mechanical shocks and others.

The 3-spring system used in the A-199 ensures a "dense" reverb because of the different properties of the three springs.

The A-199 implies some special features that are not self-evident for spring reverb units:

The reverb signal can be fed back to the input using the Feedback control. Even self-oscillation of the springs similar to the self-oscillation of filters is available. The feedback loop can lead even via external modules like VCA, VCF, phaser, frequency shifter, vocoder, distortion/waveshaper, ring modulator and others. In this case the reverb output of the A-199 is connected to the input of the external module(s) and the output of the external module(s) is fed back to the Ext. Feedback In socket of the A-199. This socket contains a switch that interrupts the internal feedback loop as soon as a plug is inserted.

Another feature is the Emphasis control. This enables the adjustment of the accentuation of middle frequencies (around ~ 2kHz).

With the Mix control the relation between original and reverb signal appearing at the mix output is adjusted.

Using all these features very extreme and unusual effects can be generated with the A-199.

Notes: Desmodus's Aggressive Reverb/Delay Counterpart.

Not quite a reverb, not quite a delay, it's Desmodus's more aggressive clocked counterpart. More distortion, more in-your-face atmospheres, and synced delays for creating your tails in a whole new way. Use Electus Versio as a spacey clocked delay, as a reverb that starts with some synced echoes, or as a completely new way to create evolving spaces.

Notes: This is Befaco's take on an analogue spring reverb module. Featuring VCAs for the two available inputs (with different routing), CV control for DRY/WET and visual feedback for signal levels at input and output of the tank.

Reverberation can be defined as the sum of all the reflections created from an initial sound source within a space, at a point within that space, over time.

To simulate this effect we can pass a sound through a spring with two transducers at either end. As the sound propagates it will cause the spring to expand and contract, creating a series of reflections that are picked up by the transducers (along with the original sound). This creates a simulation of reverberation with (in the case of spring of the reverb) a characteristic and classic colour.

Electronically generated audio will usually sound starkly different to acoustically generated sound. This is more-often-than-not a desirable thing, but there are times when you might want to bring the "depth" of an acoustic environment back into your mix.

The obvious difference between acoustic and synthesised sounds is that acoustic instruments have resonators, and exist in reverberant spaces. One way to add depth to an electronic sound is to somehow simulate the characteristics of a space, and mix this with the original sign

Notes: Tiptop Audio's Z-DSP is a cartridge-based open source digital sound processing and effects generating platform for your modular synthesizer. Lush audio processing, greater stereo depth and a unique set of digital synthesis is what the Z-DSP is all about.

The Z-DSP has a stereo digital sound processor with 24-bit sampling, 15kHz of bandwidth, voltage-controlled parameters of stereo feedback, program switching, DSP parameters, equal power crossfading dry/wet mixing, as well as sequential program control switching and a clear display - all in Eurorack format. A dedicated clocking input for the DSP chip does wonders to passing sound by bending the algorithms in an unexpected way, a hardware technique computer plugins can't do and is unique to the Z-DSP.

In a recent update, the Z-DSP (NS) got an all new design of its analogue circuitry, contributing to a lower noise signal path, clearer sound of the entire frequency range, lower distortion and better immunity to noise emitted by other modules sharing the same power supply. A new analogue dry/wet circuit has been implemented to remove the 3db gain drop when the mix knob passes through the centre of the dial making the use of this function more practical in a live application. A reverse polarity protection has been added as well. The new front-panel matches Tiptop's colourful design, and a single printed circuit board and surface mount technology improve reliability during production and use. The powerful Z-DSP engine remains the same as the original Z-DSP module and all cards are compatible across both versions.

Notes: The RS-650 Echo / Reverb is a combination of the RS-310 and RS-440 which are based on the same circuit.

It offers both delay (echo) and reverb settings in one module. It is based on a bucket brigade device (BBD) with six parallel delay taps. Those six delay times have no relationship to each other and their outputs have different levels. You have to consider the reverb effect as a mixture of six different short delays what results in a dense sound. The clock frequency which scans the bucket brigade is audible and you'll have to use a low pass filter in order to eliminate or minimize it. In Reverb mode the delay time can be set between 2.5ms and 150ms and in Echo mode it spans from 75ms to 200ms.

All modules by Analogue Systems come ready to use with five years warranty mounted in the by the customer preferred rack or cabinet.

Notes: Monolith is a pitch-shifter reverb inspired by west coast synthesis techniques. It utilizes a time-domain based FM algorithm that acts as a shimmer.

Freq and v/oct - knob and CV for controlling the frequency of the FM modulator oscillator. Also control reverb pre-delay.
Shape - knob and CV for controlling FM modulator oscillator shape. Shape wavetable transitions from sine wave (8 o'clock) to triangle wave (12 o'clock) to square wave (4 o'clock).

Ambience (white knobs)

Inspired by the Nocturnal's shimmer effect, it's a cathedral-type reverb with cascaded pitch shifting effects which creates a shiny and expressive reverb.

Diffusion: Reverb decay.

Filter: Low-Pass filter's cutoff frequency.

Digital Repeater (grey knobs)

Our take on digital delay and sample manipulation. A robotic repeater where each repeat can be infinitely sampled and reduced.

Time: Time between each repeat.

Feedback: Number of repeats.

Sample Rate: Sample rate for sample reducer.

Crush: Blend between Delay and Dry signal, then going into the sample reducer.

Ambiance and Digital Repeater sections are controlled by the (big orange) Clock knob. It's a processor clock control that acts on reverb and delay length and sample rate.

Sequencer (orange knobs)

Step sequencer that's added to the Clock control, it simulates clock movement as per the selected musical intervals and rate. It also has a CV/Exp input to control the clock, a CV output to control other devices, a tap tempo + a Sync input to control its rate.

Rate: Speed of the sequencer, ranging from 2 sec to 5 msec. Higher settings can introduce ring modulation.

Step Size: Each new sequencer step will create a pitch drift since it abruptly changes the processor frequencies by multiplying the Clock control frequency. The step size control allows you to choose by how much the Clock control frequency is going to be multiplied and so what musical interval will be created by the clock speed variation.

Mode: Direction and number of steps of the sequencer through different modes.
