Zorx Electronics 84HP 1U CV Bus Module
Cat: 940211

1U CV Bus is 84HP.
Notes: The Zorx 1U CV Bus is an 84 HP 4 - 1 x 4 or 2 - 1 X 8 buffered mult with attenuation/attenuverting on each output for use with audio and CV signals.

There are four channels, each with four dedicated outputs, separated into groups of four. 4X4X4. Input a signal into any channel and use that channel's outputs to spread the input signal throughout your rig. With outputs spread out in this manner, it inspires creative modulation and patching.

Channel 1's input is normalled into Channel 2's input for use as a 1x8 mult. Likewise, Channel 3's input is normalled into Channel 4's input for use as a 1x8 mult. When nothing is patched into Channels 1 and 3,+5V is fed into each input for use as an offset throughout their respective channels with a peak to peak voltage of -5V to +5V available at each output.

Each output has attenuator/attenuverter potentiometer control. Center position is off - no signal at the output. These outputs are buffered so that with one input you can have four separate and different variations of the input signal at each of its corresponding outputs.

See-thru colour coded LED indicators denote which channel an output belongs to for easy maneuvering during live performance and in dimly lit situations, and there are also numbered dots below each potentiometer that denote that as well.

The Zorx 1U CV Bus uses +12V 90 mA and -12V 90mA, and doesn't need a +5V rail to operate. It has a depth of 27mm. The faceplate is black matte with copper.

The 20 HP Zorx SILENCER 1U CV BUS Expander is also available to buddy up with the 1U CV Bus.

The Zorx 1U SILENCER is a clickless 20 HP 4 channel performance silencing module that lets you manually switch each channel on and off, thereby muting it, with latching or momentarily capabilities. There is also a MIX OUT that sums all of the SILENCER's outputs into a single mono output. A connector cable [included] can be connected from the rear of the Zorx 1U CV Bus to the rear of the SILENCER which will take the last four outputs of the Zorx 1U CV Bus and duplicate them, normalling them to the corresponding inputs of the SILENCER. This normalization can be overridden by patching an input into each channel so that the SILENCER can act on its own or in tandem with the Zorx 1U CV Bus, or a combination of the two. Illuminated numbered dots correspond to the 4 channels of the 1U CV Bus for easy recognition.

The SILENCER can be used as a 4-channel on/off/(on) performance switch, a 4-channel audio or CV mixer, or a combination of the two while having control of which channels you want in the final mix.

The SILENCER consumes +12V 40mA and -12V 40mA and has a depth of 40mm.

Zlob Modular Foldiplier Odd/Even Harmonics Generator Module
Zlob Modular Foldiplier Odd/Even Harmonics Generator Module (frequency divider/waveshaper synth module)
Cat: 964623 Rel: 05 Oct 23

Odd/even harmonics generator module with feedback - 4HP.
Notes: The Foldiplier is a 4hp odd/even harmonics generator with 2 different oscillating feedback paths. The folding core of the design originates from the odd harmonics (middle)section of the Serge Wave Multiplier. But the Foldiplier adds voltage control over the symmetry and offset as well as a switch for feedback, jumper selectable between, a transistor based oscillating fuzz inspired by the Hemmo Bazz Fuss with a lot more low harmonic content and a passive oscillating half wave rectification circuit with more high harmonic content. When these feedback oscillations mix with an incoming waveform some unpredictable and unique nonlinear timbres can be achieved. The module can also be used as a no-input experimental oscillator with the feedback switch engaged. All diodes in the module are silicon.

The Fold knob controls the amount of times the waveform is folded in on its self (indicated by the red led window below the knob). The C.V. knob below is an attenuator for incoming control voltage corresponding to the Fold jack(indicated by the red led window above the jack, it only responds to positive voltage). So, the Fold knob acts like an initial amount of folding depending on its position. For example, with the Fold knob fully clockwise you can get even more folds with a control voltage in at the Fold jack. The Offset knob controls how much positive DC voltage(0 to 5v, clockwise) or negative(0 to -5v counter clockwise) DC voltage(indicated by the led window above the Offset jack, red for positive, yellow for negative) injected into the waveform via the Symmetry knob. With the Offset knob position at noon(0v) there will little effect from the Symmetry knob. The Offset jack is expecting +5v to -5v with knob position at noon to scan through the positive and negative voltage. The Symmetry knob controls the amount of negative or positive offset voltage(dependent on the Offset knob) mixed with the waveform(indicated by the yellow led window above the Symmetry jack). If positive voltage is mixed with incoming waveform more folds will occur on the positive troughs of the waveform, likewise, when negative voltage is introduced more folds happen on the negative troughs. This part of the circuit can also be broken down by thinking of the Offset as a voltage controlled crossfader swinging between positive and negative voltages into a VCA controlled by the Symmetry knob and jack. When a voltage is present at the Symmetry jack the Symmetry knob becomes an attenuator. The Symmetry jack only responds to positive voltage.

Xaoc Devices Ostrawa 1966 Full Stereo Voltage Controlled Mixing Console Module
Cat: 945615 Rel: 30 Aug 23

A full stereo four-channel voltage controlled mixer in 20HP.
Notes: Very nicely designed mixer module. Four-channel stereo design with CV control of balance and volume, aux sends and extensive chaining options, including the optional Bohumin expander module.

Supplier's Notes:
Ostrawa is a full stereo four-channel voltage controlled mixer featuring a stereo mixing bus, one stereo auxiliary send per channel (switchable between pre and post VCA) with stereo returns, clickless muting, individual level meters, and a super-clean and DC-coupled signal path designed with high-quality VCA and opamp chips.

Xaoc Devices have carefully crafted Ostrawa's voltage control response to achieve what we believe to be the optimal user experience found in a Eurorack mixer. The design features an elaborate control circuit that combines the internal voltages generated by the panel potentiometers with external CV over volume and stereo balance. The result is a natural attenuator response that constrains VCA gain to a usable range while minimizing distortion.

Ostrawa is a sister module to Xaoc devices Praga. It features a very similar response characteristics and similar layout of controls with some functional differences resulting from stereo inputs and limited panel space. Multiple Ostrawa and Praga units may be chained for a custom configurable mixing system. An expander called Bohumin is also available.

Xaoc Devices Drezno II 1989 Binary Conversion Komputor Module
Xaoc Devices Drezno II 1989 Binary Conversion Komputor Module (comparator/CV modulation/distortion/frequency divider/logic/quantizer/sample & hold/waveshaper synth module)
Cat: 945630 Rel: 10 Nov 23

An improved version of the original Drezno module in 12HP.
Notes: Part of Xaoc's Leibniz Binary Subsystem, the updated Drezno ADC/DAC module builds on the original with higher resolution converters, allowing you to use it for pitch quantisation.

Supplier's Notes:
Drezno II is an improved version of the original Drezno module. It is an essential member of the 8-bit Xaoc Devices Leibniz Binary Subsystem. The Leibniz subsystem is a family of modules that operate on 8 binary (two-state, on/off) signals. These signals are arranged as 8 bits of digital data and may represent analogue signals and voltages, or they may be whatever you want them to be (clocks, gates, rhythms, etc.).

Drezno features an ADC (analogue-to-digital-converter) and DAC (digital-to-analogue-converter), allowing it to act as an analog front-end of the system. In other words, Drezno allows one to convert analogue signals and CVs into digital numbers, as well as to obtain analogue signals back from some other digital numbers (or 8 binary signals). Between these two conversions there is a whole universe of digital shenanigans waiting to happen resulting in all kinds of signal transformations and modulations.

Both (ADC and DAC) sections of Drezno can work independently, or they can be linked. Input and output range of analogue signals may be adjusted using Gain and Offset sliders. Individual bit outputs (for the ADC) and inputs (DAC) allow for extensive cross-patching and the creation of complex waveforms and rhythms. A very fast clock (up to 2MHz) at which the conversions are performed may be replaced with any external clock (for each section separately).

Compared to its predecessor, Drezno II uses new converters of much higher resolution which results in much lower noise floor and higher accuracy. The lower bits are much more stable than before. It is easy now to use Drezno for quantizing pitch voltages with accurate results with 128 or 256 semitone steps. Potentiometer ranges are factory calibrated for precise chromatic scale. A new switch on the front panel allows the user to select the calibrated range of 10Vpp or 20Vpp, so that the lowest bit or the second bit correspond to 1 semitone.

Xaoc Devices Rostock 1989 Binary Data Pipeline Module
Xaoc Devices Rostock 1989 Binary Data Pipeline Module (CV modulation/digital/looper/delay synth module)
Cat: 945640 Rel: 15 Jun 23

A data pipeline, a FIFO (first in, first out) shift register or a digital delay module in 8HP.
Notes: Part of Xaoc's Leibniz binary system, the Rostock is a digital delay line capable of processing triggers, audio, CV and video signals. Another useful module from the unique Leibniz series.

Supplier's Notes:
Rostock is a component of the Leibniz Binary Subsystem. It is a data pipeline, a FIFO (first in - first out) shift register, or a very short digital delay. The module operates similarly to a BBD delay or an ASR (analogue shift register), except that it is digital. It consists of a chain of memory cells that pass bits from one to another at each clock cycle. The delay length is variable from 1 to 64 stages (with optional looping and scrambling). It works by processing data in the Leibniz bus and must be connected to other Leibniz modules using data ribbon cables at the back. Rostock may process data sequences representing rhythms, control voltages, audio-rate signals, and even video signals because the bits can change at extreme rates (up to 2MHz). In addition, its memory may be digitally looped. Delaying and looping is a fundamental building block for sequence automation, pattern and chaos generation, and various cybernetic modular patches. Thus, Rostock is a multi-purpose open-ended device that invites creative thinking.

An expander module for Xaoc Devices Timiszoara multi-fx in 8HP.
Notes: Add external feedback loops, tilt filters and more to the Timiszoara effects module with this versatile expander. A must-have for Timiszoara owners.

Supplier's Notes:
Deva is an expander for Xaoc Devices' Timiszoara multi-fx module designed for creative exploration of the dirty/nasty side of signal processing. Deva opens up the Timiszoara programs you've come to love with some unexpected twists and turns along the way. The analog side features two external feedback loops (for the left and right channel) with tilt filters adjustable via sliders with two additional switches for choosing positive or negative feedback (for each channel). Xaoc Devices Batumi II 1974 Quadruple Low Frequency Oscillator Module
Xaoc Devices Batumi II 1974 Quadruple Low Frequency Oscillator Module (digital/LFO/oscillator/quad/random/clock generator/CV modulation module)
Cat: 979276 Rel: 13 Feb 24

Quadruple low frequency oscillator module - 10HP
Notes: An updated version of the excellent Batumi quad LFO, version II introduces performance updates plus compatibility with the new Poti II expander. Original Poti I breakout functions are now included in the Batumi II.

Supplier's Notes:
Xaoc Devices presents Batumi II - a greatly improved and enhanced new iteration of the modern day classic that is/was the original Batumi, preserving its layout and form factor. The premise remains the same: four LFO's with individual outputs for sine, assign and rectangle waves. The channels can operate independently or they can be linked - phase shifted, divided or multiplied (new mode alert) with regard to the first channel. Multiple major and minor improvements have been implemented, e.g. when synced to an external clock source, each channel's frequency slider selects a clock division for that channel's outputs.

Xaoc Devices have managed to incorporate the features of the original expander into Batumi II (sync mode switching and assign waveform selection) without changing the size of the module which opened up new possibilities for the new optional expander. The Poti II expander for Batumi II adds multi destination inputs for sine wavefolding, assign output waveform selection or rectangle pulse modulation with the destination set for each channel independently. Poti II also features frequency input attenuation as well as sine and assign output attenuation. All adjustments may be performed separately for each individual channel or for all channels simultaneously.

The Batumi II software has been rewritten from scratch to ensure best performance. The hardware has also been updated to allow for V/oct tracking and stable operation up to audio rates (more powerful CPU, precise, wideband converters, antialiased waveforms).

-4 LFO's
- redesigned from scratch - both the hardware and software
- new waveforms for the assign output (including random)
- new frequency multiplication mode
- all features of the Poti expander incorporated into the main module
- very wide frequency range well into audio rate
- 1V/oct tracking = so can be used as 4 VCO's
- in the Phase/Divide/Mult modes the random waves at the ASGN output follow the values available in the master/A channel
- 10HP
- +90/-50mA

Xaoc Devices Tallin 1956 Dual Discrete Core VC Amp Module (B-STOCK)
Cat: 1000462 Rel: 01 Jan 90

B-STOCK: Item refurbished, repaired and in perfect working order.
Notes: ***B-STOCK: Item refurbished, repaired and in perfect working order.***

Tallin is a dual voltage controlled amplifier (VCA) with overdrive, offering some unusual control features and a range of attractive tonal characteristics. Each of the two identical channels offers two simultaneously available inputs for voltage control over signal attenuation or gain, with linear and exponential response to CV. Volume control knobs offer manual gain settings ranging from fully closed (-80dB) up to +18dB. A colour LED indicator displays output signal levels. A soft-clip circuit avoids harsh clipping distortion, while a switchable overdrive circuit offers two carefully crafted distortion responses, simulating the sound of classic tube amplifiers.

Since both CV inputs are simultaneously active, they can be jointly exploited within patches featuring more complex volume control that otherwise would require using two traditional VCAs in series. As the signal path is DC-coupled, Tallin can also be used for handling the control voltages.

Xaoc Devices Odessa 1975 Variable Spectrum Harmonic Cluster Oscillator Module (B-STOCK)
Cat: 1003059 Rel: 01 Jan 90

B-STOCK: Item refurbished, repaired and in perfect working order.
Notes: ***B-STOCK: Item refurbished, repaired and in perfect working order.***

Additive synthesis oscillator based on the concept of building up harmonics from sine waves. A complex idea nicely executed for ease of use.

Suppliers notes:
Odessa implements the principle of additive synthesis controlled by a set of carefully tailored macro parameters to harness thousands of sinusoidal partials that altogether form the resulting sound.

The interface is kept simple and accessible, so you can easily build rich and full, great sounding timbres of very complex spectra, that can be either harmonic or inharmonic. Even though inharmonic spectra yield non-periodic waveforms, all partials are frequency related to the common fundamental controlled by a V/oct input. The series of harmonics can be squeezed or spread apart, tilt, and pruned by a comb-like frequency response, resulting in a variety of unearthy sounds. Animating the comb response yields radical effects similar to flanging and phasing. Additional, often sought after features are implemented: through-zero linear frequency modulation, and unison detune: up to 5 copies of the sound can be spread apart for a fat and dense cluster of voices.

There are nine parameters, each controlled by a dedicated knob, so the workflow is as smooth and immediate as possible. Furthermore, every parameter has a dedicated CV input, allowing live animation for organic audio effects. Odessa sports two main outputs for banks of harmonic partials that can be further scaled in frequency, as well as an additional output that can either spit out a square wave or a single sinusoid of the fundamental frequency. Interesting spatial effects, crazy modulation feedbacks as well as synchronisation is possible that way.

The hardware is based on a powerful FPGA chip offering massive parallel computing. The synthesized signal is devoid of aliasing through the entire audio range thanks to intrinsically bandlimited algorithm. A simplified spectral analyser helps you to keep a visual track of what is actually happening to the harmonics.

For even more control over Odessa, you can use the Leibniz subsystem (or just the Lipsk) that can be connected to a header at the back of the module.

WMD Digital VCA MKIII Dual Zero-Crossing VCA & Polariser Module WMD Digital VCA MKIII Dual Zero-Crossing VCA & Polariser Module WMD Digital VCA MKIII Dual Zero-Crossing VCA & Polariser Module WMD Digital VCA MKIII Dual Zero-Crossing VCA & Polariser Module
WMD Digital VCA MKIII Dual Zero-Crossing VCA & Polariser Module (polariser/ring modulator/sample & hold/VCA module)
Cat: 1008017 Rel: 27 Mar 24

Dual digital VCA module with zero crossing detection, polarisation, noise, sample & hold - 8HP
Notes: Another update for WMD's clever dual VCA, this time a little bigger to give more control. Digital control of CV and attenuation gives lots of creative options. Third time's a charm.

Supplier's Notes:
WMD have done several designs of this circuit over the years, the first one had no knobs, the second was too small, the MKIII is finally how this circuit should be packaged. This module does some really cool stuff and is super useful in any system.

The Digital VCA lets signal through like a normal VCA, but the CV and attenuation level is controlled digitally. This lets us do things like wait until there is a zero crossing to change the amplitude, resulting in clickless amplitude changes.

The Trigger mode causes the VCA to only update when a trigger is received. The addition of a noise circuit for each side let us do a very quick and easy sample and hold that never droops. With no input, 5V is normaled to the attenuator, so you get a 0-5V sample and hold. In Bipolar mode, you can get -5 to +5V.

Both sides have bipolar VCA mode (polarizer), which lets them invert the signal when negative CV comes in. Also known as ring modulation. With the zero crossing detector, this can produce some super wild wave shapes.

Limited run of 600!

Introducing Subway, an 8 input, 1 output scanning crossfader in 6 HP. Transit for your signals!

8 inputs and correlating on/off switches let you decide how many signals are a part of the line. Then, smoothly fade from one signal to the next using the knob or an external CV source.

Subway is compatible with both audio and control voltage so it can be used for creating morphing waveshapes out of wavetables, complex modulation from multiple CV sources, as a simple waveshape selector for oscillators with multiple outs, and lots more. Find new sonic territories by combining multiple sounds and cycling through them at audio rate. Meticulously route CV to create preset destinations throughout a set.

The journey is yours, let Subway take you there.

Controls

Scan Knob - Master control over which input is going into the output. Knob becomes offset when CV is applied to Scan CV input.

Enable Switches - Control which input is active. Off LED means the input is removed from the output selection. Dim LED means the input is active, but not yet selected. Bright LED means the input is currently being sent to the output.

Winterbloom Castor & Pollux II Dual Juno-Inspired Oscillator Module Winterbloom Castor & Pollux II Dual Juno-Inspired Oscillator Module Winterbloom Castor & Pollux II Dual Juno-Inspired Oscillator Module
Cat: 939094 Rel: 05 Jan 24

Dual Juno-inspired oscillator module - 14HP
Notes: A Juno-inspired oscillator module? We're flattered, but credit has to go to Roland for this one. Based on the Juno-106's digitally-controlled analogue oscillators, the Castor & Pollux modernises the 80s design with a built-in LFO and hard sync.

Supplier's Notes:
Twins that dance in and out of phase, never completely together but never fully apart, bound to each other in the infinite universe.

Castor & Pollux is a dual oscillator that echoes back to the legendary Roland Juno but shines with its own unique, massive voice. It contains two digitally-controlled analogue oscillators implemented using a faithfully modernized version of the original Juno 106 design. It builds on the classic '80s sounds of its inspiration by using the second oscillator and internal LFO to layer in thick detuned sounds and harmonically complex hard synced waveforms.

Castor & Pollux II brings a redesigned interface and moves individual waveform outputs to an included expansion. Both versions have the same features and use the same firmware.

Winter Plankton Zaps Percussion Synth Voice Module (B-STOCK)
Cat: 945528 Rel: 01 Jan 90

B-STOCK: Box opened, but product is in excellent condition and in perfect working order
Notes: ***B-STOCK: Box opened, but product is in excellent condition and in perfect working order***

Analogue synth percussion, melodic bleeps and mutating zaps are the name of the game from this clever module. Sequencing options allow you to introduce randomness and organic evolution of the sound.

Supplier's Notes:
Zaps is a percussion-line-synth voice designed for creating organic percussive sequences that can mutate over time.

It uses a combination of different techniques like controlled randomness, morphing, and storing (or locking) synth-voice parameters in externally sequencable CV-controlled slots.

The synth voice is a digitally-controlled-two-oscillator-FM and AM-analog engine with two envelopes and cross-modulation.

These are some of the things that can be done with it:

Sequence Preset Slots externally for changing percussion or synth lines
Add subtle randomness to any parameter for slightly changing sounds, or go wild for unpredicted surprises on every trigger
Morph sounds between Slots
Assign accent to any parameter for added expressiveness
Randomly generate full banks of sounds
Capture any randomly generated sound into a preset slot for further editing
Freeze/Revert the state of the module for careless editing during live performances
Live editing of a single or multiple Slots simultaneously for expressive tweaking
Generate melodic percussion or synth lines with the V/O tracked oscillators
Use CV-in control of any parameter or CV-out control for external modules (control FX-sends or automate external-synth parameters)

The synthesis board is an analog circuit with two VCOs, two envelopes, AM, FM, high-pass filters, and a two-channel mixer.

VCOs:

Triangle core VCOs with V/oct inputs and Fine and Coarse controls.
VCO 1 waves: Sine, Triangle, Sawtooth, and Square.
VCO 2 waves: Sine, Triangle, Sawtooth, Square, Double Sine, and White Noise.
VCO2 has two separate wave outputs, one for the AM and the other for the FM and the Mixer-Channel 2.

ENVELOPES:

Two AHR (Attack, Hold, Release) envelopes.
The hold time can be set internally or externally (Gate ON) for each envelope.
Envelopes can be faded from logarithmic to linear responses.
Each envelope can control the Pitch/Tone of the VCOs (Pitch Envelope), the amount of AM or FM (Envelope 1), the VCA for both channels (Envelope 2).

AM:

The amplitude modulation goes from VCO2 to VCO1.
It can be set in two ways: straight to VCO1 or through a VCA controlled by Envelope 1.

FM:

The frequency modulation goes from VCO2 to VCO1 and from VCO1 to VCO2 (XFM).
FM can be set in two ways: straight to VCO1, or through a VCA controlled by Envelope 1.

MIXER:

Two-channel mixer for the two VCOs.

HIGH-PASS FILTER

There are two HPFs. HPF1 filters the mixer output. HPF2 filters the white noise.

DIGITAL CONTROL

STRUCTURE:

Each project contains twelve banks; each bank contains twelve slots; each slot contains a sound.
All projects are stored on an SD card.

RANDOM:

Randomize values on a per trigger basis
Independent random control for each synth parameter
Set ranges to any random value for controlled randomness
Relatively attenuate all parameter-random amounts with a single global random fader
Populate slots or banks with randomly generated sounds

FREEZE/REVERT :

Take a snapshot of the whole project, modify it and go back to the original state.

MORPH:

Parameter interpolation between two slots on a per trigger basis.
Control the balance between the two slots with one fader - crossfade style!

CV ASSIGN:

Any of the six CV-connectors can be configurable as both inputs or outputs and set to different ranges (0/10V, 0/8V, -5/5V, 0/5V).
CV-inputs can be internally attenuated
Control almost any synth parameter, value, or setting on a per trigger basis. For example, Accent, Slot Selection, Morph assignments, Next/Prev Slot, Random Slot, Oscillator-Wave Selection, any of the synth parameters (Pitch, Release, AM, FM, Global Random...) or any of the random parameters (Random Pitch, Random Filter, Random Hold)
Output any parameter-CV values through any of the assignable I/Os
Alt-fader-CV output for controlling external parameters, like Send-FX for each slot.
CV-slot/Gate out - Useful for externally recording finger drumming!

ACCENT ASSIGN:

. Add dynamics by assigning the accent input to control any one of the synth parameters

COPY:

Copy Slots (also between banks)

SNAPSHOT:

Take a snapshot of the last sound heard (flatten the values for further editing), including the effects of CV-in, Morph, and Random. Very useful for easily creating banks from scratch!

EDIT ALL:

Action over faders has an effect on the twelve Slots. Use hints: Live tweaking, homogenize, "tame" a Sound Bank, or modify all Slot parameters while sequencing the Slots via CV-input.

FILE SYSTEM:

Save, Load, Name, and Rename projects, banks, sounds and sort them into folders.

Cat: 945398 Rel: 16 Oct 23

A three channel external processing module in 18HP.
Notes: Designed to integrate sound sources from outside Eurorack, Verbos's Real World Interface offers three channels including built-in microphones, preamps, envelope followers and a frequency detector.

Supplier's Notes:
The Real World Interface is a 3-channel external processing module intended for connecting with sound sources outside the system. The channels are oriented as vertical channel strips. The left and right channels have a built-in condenser microphone, preamp, envelope follower with variable decay and gate extractor. In addition to a preamp, envelope follower and gate extractor, the centre channel also has an Automatic Gain Control (fixed high ratio compressor), fundamental extractor (tracking lowpass filter), frequency detector and locked oscillator. Internal microphones are useful for introducing electro acoustic room sounds into the modular. Envelope followers can be used to have external signal levels effect parameters such as filter cutoff or level for building dynamics processors. Gate extraction allows external sounds such as metronomes, clicks, claps or room sounds to advance sequencers, trigger sounds or initiate other events. The Frequency Detector can extract the pitch of simple monophonic sounds but is also a semi chaotic CV source in the tradition of such modules since their introduction in the 1960's. The Locked Oscillator plays a sine wave at the same pitch as the input signal.

VAEMI XFMR Ring Modulator Module VAEMI XFMR Ring Modulator Module VAEMI XFMR Ring Modulator Module VAEMI XFMR Ring Modulator Module VAEMI XFMR Ring Modulator Module VAEMI XFMR Ring Modulator Module
VAEMI XFMR Ring Modulator Module (ring modulator synth module)
Cat: 962124

Active ring modulator module with transformer - 10HP.
Notes: The XFMR Ring Modulator is a very old transformer ring modulator design. It dates back to 1947. The inventor of the device is Harald Bode, not the inventor of the ring modulator, but the inventor of many other important circuits, who first thought of using it in music systems and designed an example of it. The first versions had inputs with 2 audio transformers and 4 diodes installed in a ring configuration for the ring modulator.

The module is 10 hp. It is hand-assembled with very high-quality through-hole components. The transformers used in the XFMR Ring Modulator are Tamura brand transformers with very high quality and flat response. There are two separate transformers at the input and output. Also, the input and output voltages are calibrated according to Vaemi's system and eurorack systems.

Input and output have a headroom of 10Vpp. Unlike the original design, the module is not passive but active (buffered). The XFMR Ring Modulator has a Carrier input and input attenuator, an Output and its attenuator, a Modulator CV input and its attenuator. The lights on the panel show the exact phase of the modulation. The gain setting you choose on the input signals will change and affect the sound of the XFMR Ring Modulator. It will also affect and change the harmonics generated by the attenuator to reduce the amount of modulation. There is also an offset knob for ring modulation. Here you can change the zero point of the modulation, direct and shape the modulation.

Vaemi have revived this old construction technique by creating the XFMR Ring Modulator as an active ring modulator with a transformer.

VAEMI XFMR VCA Voltage Controlled Amplifier Module (distortion/equalizer/mixer/VCA/waveshaper synth module)
Cat: 962135

Voltage controlled linear amplifier module with transformer - 18HP.
Notes: XFMR VCA is an amplifier module in the Eurorack format. It is voltage-controlled, linear, and features op-amp and audio transformer output options, as well as saturation-clipping properties. It has a width of 18HP, and it can be used with all synthesizers and allows you to control the level of the sound (amplitude).

XFMR VCA has a 2-channel mixer. You can mix a channel that is not included in filtering in your patch or a sound such as osc, noise into the 2nd input of the VCA. The CV Offset knob sends a DC constant voltage to the VCA, allowing the VCA to remain permanently open and can be used without any CV input. The 0 point of the CV Offset knob is in the center. When you turn the knob to the right, it can add positive offset voltage and when you turn it to the left, it can add negative offset voltage. With the negative voltage, you can shift the offset of the CV signals, that is, the 0 point, in the desired direction by the desired amount. At the same time, moving the CV offset knob in the negative direction provides a great advantage in AM. When the CV Offset knob is wide open in the positive direction, the volume level will increase more and more with the voltages you add from the CV inputs. When the headroom is filled, the VCA will begin to saturate. This saturation is a particular favourite feature at Vaemi is quite musical. XFMR VCA has two CV inputs. The CV inputs and the VCA's response are completely linear. The VCA can open and close very quickly. It allows for more detailed use with fast and high-quality Envelope Generators. By default, when you input an Envelope Generator into the first CV input, you still have a 2nd CV input as an advantage. Here, you can input a 2nd Envelope Generator signal for various reasons such as LFO, Random CV signals, side-chain, and more.

The XFMR VCA includes an Input Mixer, VCA, Drive, EQ Input Gain, EQ, and two different outputs, such as the Op-Amp output (VCA Out) or the Transformer output (TR Out). When you exceed headroom in VCA, the core of the audio transformer will start saturating after saturation. At the end of the chain, there are attenuator knobs for the Op-amp and Transformer. The outputs have a maximum of +/-5V (10Vpp).

Preamplifiers used in studios are equipment that can raise microphone or line level signals smoothly, without altering the sound, and without adding noise. However, when recording analogue synthesizers, we don't aim to raise the output, rather we aim to lower it due to their high output levels. You can continue to use the high output levels in your synthesizer patch in any module you want, such as a filter or reverb module, by using it as a modular level. When you use it at a low output level, you can record to any AD Converter of your choice without a preamplifier in between.

The XFMR VCA has an EQ stage before the Transformer and Op-Amp. This EQ stage has an input Gain knob. The knob is at the 12 o'clock position, or the center point, when using the Op-Amp output. When using the Transformer output, the center point of the Gain is marked with a "T" letter. The EQ has 3 bands, and each band's frequencies can be increased or decreased in decibels. The bands are divided into Low, Mid, and High. The Low band boosts or cuts 150hz, the Mid band boosts or cuts 1Khz, and the High band boosts or cuts 8Khz, with a wide curve. When finalizing your patch, an EQ stage in your patches will provide great flexibility and in multi-channel patches will provide a cleaner sound.

XFMR VCA has a white LED on it, which shows the output and audio signal of the VCA.

In conclusion, XFMR VCA is AC Coupled and is designed for audio signals only. It is mostly used at the end of the chain as a VCA module. You can use it to add saturation, harmonics, and EQ to your patch when using sine wave and through zero FM techniques with Osi-Op. You can also use it for clean ranges if you prefer. This wide range will be the options you love and relax you.

In addition, XFMR VCA has an expander and can be expanded up to 3 channels. With the expander, you can have 2 more exponential VCA channels and use them for frequency modulation of oscillators or other various patches.

VAEMI Shift Register Module VAEMI Shift Register Module VAEMI Shift Register Module VAEMI Shift Register Module VAEMI Shift Register Module VAEMI Shift Register Module VAEMI Shift Register Module
VAEMI Shift Register Module (clock modulator/dual/stereo/logic/sequencer synth module)
Cat: 962139

Dual 4-bit shift register module - 8HP.
Notes: Shift Register essentially stores the data in binary form, and it shifting the data in accordance with a clock signal reference. In fact, thanks to this feature, it is used for storing, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing data in a computer. Multiplication and dividing are actually the results of the shifting process.

Shift Register is a module that is designed for Eurorack systems, and it can run between 0V-+5V. It runs with a clock signal. This way, all the data entered through data input is synchronized with the starting and ending times of the clock signal. This module is a dual and 4bit Shift Register module. It can be accepted as a 4-step sequencer. The jack on the module that types data is input.Even if you enter a CV signal or gate signal, the signal you will get from the outputs is a 5V gate signal. The first output, on the other hand, gives out exactly the same pattern you entered in the data signal, only a better-synced version with the clock, while synchronizing with the clock signal, it shifting the written patten to another output as the clock arrives. In fact, as a result, when you enter 16-note clock signals, you get a 16-note delayed version of the patten you typed from each output. If you use this module in the audio rate range, you can run it like an oscillator with clock signals that are hearable for human ears. In this way, while patching with square waves in Logic, you primarily get different phase degrees of the data (square wave) you entered.

The module also has a reset input. If you send a trigger or a gate to this input, Shift Register will delete all the data in its memory.

When you record data in the data input in the momentary flow and stop the clock signal, you will see that 4 steps, which is actually 4 bits of data stay frozen inside the module. At this point, if you redirect one of the outputs to the Shift Register's data input, and if you give the clock signal back again, the pattern will enter a 2-3-4 step loop according to the output that you use. This pattern will go on like this forever if you follow these steps. The pattern you recorded is probably out of phase in comparison to the clock signal; however, you can also select the phase of the pattern by starting the Shift Register at different times.

Another method is that you can enter the same clock signals in the second Shift Register because it is a 2-channeled Shift Register module. If you direct the 4th output of the 1st Shift Register to the data input of the 2nd Shift Register, you can extend the Shift Register up to 7 bits.

VAEMI R2R Ladder Digital To Analogue Converter Module (attenuator/CV modulation/mixer/multiple/utility/waveshaper synth module)
Cat: 962147

DAC 8-bit digital to analogue converter module - 4HP.
Notes: R2R Ladder is a piece of unique ancillary equipment. It is inspired by DAC, and it is one of the most important and essential parts of it. Designed by Vaemi, this R2R Ladder module is an 8-bit converter. Through the inputs and outputs, whether it is audio or cv, you can enter all types of AC and DC signals. You can think of each channel as 1 bit. Each 1-bit data you send to the inputs will increase incrementally. For instance, a square waveform can be regarded as a binary system. Every channel has 2 resistances, series and parallel; and through these, you can establish a resistance ladder circuit. This circuit gives you the opportunity to get 128 parameters in the binary system, from 0 to 127.

You can use the module as 8 in - 1 out or 1 in - 8 out. Therefore, it can be used for a few different tasks. If you enter any signal from the input, from the other 8 output, it will come out as a low signal like an attenuator. The rate of lower signals will change in every input. If you enter 8 inputs, it will serve as a summing mixer. For example, if you combine more than 2 cv signals, you will have a new cv signal. If you enter more than 2 waveforms and use it in an audio rate frequency range, it will act like a waveshaper. The basic principle of a converter is that it works with 1s and 0s. To do this, it uses gate signals. The voltage of the gate signals is stable. When there is no signal, it is 0 volts; and when there is a signal, it is 8 volts. This circuit can split 8 volts into 128 equal pieces. By using the combinations of the inputs, you can reach all of these 128 points. In this way, without even thinking too much, when you combine 3-4 gate signals with this module, it will easily stop on the right notes, which is the right tune, just like in the tampere note system. The reason for this is that the module splits the voltage proportional. These CV signals you have got can be used in various modulations. It can also be used with an attenuator, a mixer and a multiple. The module is passive, and it does not require a power source.

VAEMI Buffered Multiple Module (dual/stereo/multiple/utility synth module)
Cat: 962151

1 channel 1-in/8-out and 2 channel 1-in/4-out, 3U, DC coupled buffered multiple module - 4HP.
Notes: Buffered Multiple is an active signal multiplication circuit. Thanks to this module, for example, you can create many copies of an 8Vpp signal out of a single 8Vpp signal. You can use this module as two 1 In - 4 Outs or one 1 In - 8 Outs. Signal flow is shown on the module with arrows so that you can use the module without difficulty. As long as you do not plug in a jack through the input below, the input of the first channel on the top is directed from the inside, through the circuit board. The module is DC-coupled. Therefore, it can be used for all AC and DC signals, and all audio and CV signals.

VAEMI Osi-Op Thru-Zero Voltage Controlled Oscillator Module (LFO/oscillator/waveshaper synth module)
Cat: 962156

Thru-zero voltage controlled oscillator & low frequency oscillator module - 14HP.
Notes: Osi-OP, which is regarded by Vaemi as an analogue reflection of the new era of digital electronic music, is an analogue and voltage-controlled oscillator module. It was designed in Eurorack format and it has a width of 14hp. The fact that it has Thru Zero FM Input and a Waveshape Output, which can be used for morphing, are two of the most important features of this product. From a first impression, it may look like an oscillator that is appropriate for subtractive synthesis; however, Vaemi actually designed it to be used for additive synthesis. Thanks to Thru Zero FM, this oscillator can regard oscillators with Sine Wave as analogue operators. You can even prepare your synthesizer patch without using the classic subtractive resonant filter. The most important aspect of Thru Zero FM is that there is no tune drift when you increase the modulation rate. For this reason, Thru Zero attenuator (TZ FM potentiometer) can almost be used like a filter itself. the frequency of the second oscillator acting as FM (operator) according to the frequency of the 1st oscillator giving the fundamental frequency; must be set in harmonic degrees of the fundamental frequency. But at these settings the tonality can remain in and be musical. In addition to Square, Saw, Triangle, and Square Sub oscillator outputs, it has a Sine Wave Output, which was designed with JFET transistors and has a very low distortion rate, and a Waveshape Output, which was designed with Sine-Triangle and can be used for morphing. It also has a Wave Shape Input. It is connected to this input via the Triangle Wave circuit board inside. Sine Wave is fixed on Wave Shape but you can forward it to the other WS Input by patching other waveforms, and you can morph between two waveforms. The pulse width of the Square Wave can be adjusted. The same knob is the morphing knob of the Waveshape Output. Since the oscillator has tempo, there is a 1V/OCT calibrated CV Input that is sensitive to heat. It can perfectly stay in tune up to 3.5 octaves. In addition, for FM, there are two separate CV Inputs, Exponential and Thru Zero. While Exponential FM CV Input can take all types of DC and AC voltages, Thru Zero FM CV Input can only be used for AC audio rate signals. Also, when you enter a waveform on Thru Zero FM CV Input, oscillators are soft-synced automatically. With 1V/OCT CV Input, you can adjust the frequency of the oscillator; and with Exponential FM CV Input, you can easily add an LFO or Envelope Generator. Square Wave Sub OSC Output, which is completely synced with fundamental frequency and can give an octave lower than the fundamental, will help you a lot to create strong modern synth-bass sounds. It is made with NOS IC. When the oscillator is FM modulated, the Sub OSC never gets negatively affected by this modulation; and it can maintain giving the frequency clearly. You can also switch the oscillator to the LFO mode. You can create subtractive syntheses by using two or more of these oscillators or by mixing these waveforms. The main reason for us to design this oscillator is, as its name shows, to enable the creation of complex FM patches and sounds by using 2-3 or more of these oscillators, just like Operator FM. While Thru Zero FM increases the modulation, it can maintain giving the same frequency without losing the adjusted frequency; and you can add harmonics to the sound musically. The module has 5 knob controls, 4 CV Inputs, an input for Waveshaper, and 6 i5V waveform outputs. Osi-OP, which is handmade and produced with the help of Through Hole technology, is a product consisting of electronic components that is carefully tested.
