With the controls (power switch, volume and tone controls) and the combo jack input on the lower front panel, you'll find the MS101-4 is easy to operate. The sturdy metal grill offers complete protection for the four-inch cone driver, while the rear panel is equipped with one stereo mini and a TRS Phone input connector, along with an output jack. An AC inlet for a removeable power cord provides excellent portability. The bass reflex port is also located on the rear surface, resulting in a more compact chassis.

Review: Few tracks capture the icy allure of early 80s electronic experimentation quite like this underground classic. Originally released in 1981, this Swiss post-punk/coldwave classic has transcended its era, becoming a cult favorite across underground scenes and DJ sets of various genres. Now reissued on limited blue vinyl, its influence remains undeniable. 'Eisbaer' is a track that bridges stark, minimalist electronics with the raw energy of post-punk. The hypnotic bassline and cold, robotic drum programming lay a foundation for jagged guitar stabs and eerie synth flourishes, creating an urgent, mechanical pulse. The disaffected, almost mantra-like vocalsideclaring "Ich mochte ein Eisbar sein" ("I want to be a polar bear")iheighten its existential detachment. Echoes of Throbbing Gristle's industrial edge and Cabaret Voltaire's abstract electronics blend seamlessly with the emerging synth-pop movement, helping to push new wave into more danceable, electronic territory. Side B's 'Film 2' takes a more abrasive approach, a pounding, near-industrial instrumental that pulses with motorik intensity. Review: Meiko Kaji's third album sees her deepening the atmospheric world of cinematic pop she became known for, with her music garnering the same iconic status as her acclaimed roles in 70s classics like Lady Snowblood and Stray Cat Rock. A symbol of cool, rebellious femininity, Kaji blends Japanese pop, folk and cinematic grooves, often crafting songs as dramatic and intense as her screen roles. With admiration from figures like Quentin Tarantino, her music continues to resonate, bridging generations and cultures. Kaji's body of work stands not just as a reflection of her cinematic legacy, but as a genre-defying exploration of mood, melody and raw emotion. Review: As the official soundtrack to Claire Sanford and Josephine Anderson's documentary Texada, New-York based composer Elori Saxl's latest record comes issued on a steadfast, standalone vinyl edition. Texada explores the evolving connection between people and the remote Texada Island, British Columbia, shaped by ancient limestone formations and industrial history. Saxl transforms these themes into sound, blending analog synthesizers, processed baritone saxophone (by Henry Solomon) and field recordings of water and rock. Her compositions evoke stone textures and the lunar-tidal motion of waves, with tracks like 'The Quarry' capturing the drive of resource extraction, and 'The Most Special Place' reflecting nostalgia and discovery, merging human and geological scales.

Review: The fledgling WEorUS label rolls out more stylish, minimal and tech here from a trio of artists. Andrade goes first with 'Kubernetes,' a driving minimal house cut packed with hefty groove. It is followed by 'Content Security Policy' which is a slick, rhythm-forward roller that locks you into its flow. Flip to side-B and get swept into Dragosh's 'One Way,' a deep, hypnotic workout that's all tension and release and rounding off the trip is Fabrizio Siano's 'Control Your Emotions,' a poignant, late-night burner that delivers introspection through rhythm.

Review: British producer Joe Thornalley aka Vegyn made his name working with the likes of Frank Ocean and Travis Scott. This project is something quite different - a rework of the iconic French duo Air's seminal downtempo album Moon Safari. He collides its blessed out and beauty Balearic nostalgia with new studio techniques and a deft atmospheric and experimental touch so that tracks like 'Sexy Boy' and 'La Femme d'Argent' retain their lush, ambient roots but evolve with newly textured beats and modern flair. This remix LP isn't about revisiting the past; it's about reshaping it, and Vegyn's vision works as both a tribute and a bold reinterpretation for a new generation.

Review: More than just a school concert, 1975's Rocking Grass was a sensation. On one fine estival day, The College Andre-Grasset auditorium overflowed, leaving hundreds spellbound. Registering its impact, Jean-Yves Quesnel and colleagues immortalised the show into a recording, transforming Rocking Grass into Phono Grass.Sessions at College Edouard-Montpetit's studio captured the energy of a shifting musical landscape in Quebec; and pianist Benoit Sarrazin, unknowingly recorded mid-performance, later became a professional musician. The album's original songs, 'Le Roi Muffe' and 'Bright Moments', embodied the era's creative freedom, with the latter later sampled by DJs and featured on Canadian Racer. Originally pressed on a 500-copy run, 1001 est Cremazie become a prized collectible; now it's much more readily available.

Review: NPG Records and Paisley Park Enterprises, in partnership with Warner Records, are pleased to announce the release of a brand-new audiophile Blu-ray featuring 2024's Dolby Atmos mix of Prince and the Revolution's iconic 1984 album, Purple Rain, as well as Prince's original 1984 stereo mix, in high-definition 24bit / 96kHz audio.

Prince shattered all expectations and made music history when he released the album Purple Rain, followed by the hit movie of the same name weeks later. The 9-track LP went on to win two Grammy awards ("Best Rock Performance by a Group" & "Best Album of Original Score Written For A Motion Picture"), two American Music Awards, a Brit Award, and an Academy Award for Best Original Song Score. In 2012 the Library of Congress added the album to the National Recording Registry, which only accepts sound recordings that "are culturally, historically, or aesthetically important, and/or inform or reflect life in the United States." Purple Rain spent 24 weeks at #1 on the Billboard album charts, sold over 25 million copies worldwide, and appears on countless 'Best Of' polls, most recently achieving the #4 spot on Apple Music's Top 100 Albums Of All Time.

The 2024 Atmos presentation of Purple Rain featured on this Blu-Ray, was meticulously mixed from the original multi-track master tapes by Prince's protege and Best Engineered Grammy nominee Chris James. It was released via all participating Digital Service Providers on June 21, 2024. Review: ***B-STOCK: Slight creasing to outer sleeve, record slightly warped***


Permission To Land is the debut album by glam rockers The Darkness, originally released in 2003. True to their name, The Darkness were dark horses indeed, having been sorely underestimated by the guffawing gatekeepers at Sony, who failed to see any promise in the band after being deemed "uncool", perhaps due to their bombastic rock & roll sound and high vocal drawl from Justin Hawkins. Sony were easily knocked off their high horse, however, when the band later signed with Atlantic, after which the album would top the US Albums Chart, peaking at number two. For the fans, this reissue harks back to their earliest hits, such as 'I Believe in a Thing Called Love', and 'Growing On Me'.

Review: Italian techno label Void+1 Recordings' newest release, 'Convergence Chapter 1', is one for those who like their techno extreme. Four tracks from artists not known for techno of deep introspection. These tracks are minutely produced, influenced by EBM, breakcore & harsh electro. The first cut, 'Loose Fit (Tensal remix)' is a fast-paced, four-to-the-floor rocket of a remix by prolific German techno artist Tensal. The next track by Australian CTSD sounds like a dark, modern interpretation of early 2000s breaks. Serbian hard techno artist Scalameriya's track 'I Am Soloing Your Egregores' mixes a cut-up beat with harsh feedback noise. The last track by Japan-based Cam Lasky sounds like techstep slowed down, No U-Turn meets Ancient Methods.

Notes: The LedPressor is a full stereo Diode-based compressor module.
Its unique core adds character and color to any signal passed through it.
The LedPressor can be used as a normal compressor with low input levels, but as the input volume increases and the "nuke" LED lights up, it enters a new territory that combines compressor and overdrive, creating a dynamic overdrive effect.

Get it pumping with the Side Chain
The module features an external sidechain input that accepts audio and CV signals. Only the sidechain signal passes through a high pass filter, which gives the user greater control over the sound shape. The audio signal itself is not affected by the filter.
Parallel compression
The module also includes a mix knob that can be controlled with a dedicated mix CV input, allowing for greater flexibility when blending dry and wet signals. Additionally, it features a momentary bypass button to easily adjust the levels of dry and wet signals.
