Last time he appeared on International Feel earlier this year, Ruf Dug was in full on synth-heavy, Italo-Balearic mode, offering up the delightful 'Manctalo Beach'. This time out, and with a little help from vocalist Private Joy (real name Poppy Roberts), he's exploring his love of street soul and lovers rock. The two A-side 'Streetsoul' versions (vocal, instrumental) are deliciously loved-up, tactile and ultra-dreamy, with Private Joy's Sade-esque vocal rising above a perfectly pitched, astutely observed street soul instrumental rich in undulating bass, lo-fi drum machine beats and warming chords. Over on the flip, he switches to lovers rock mode via two 'reggae' versions that are as soulful, luscious and Balearic as they come. One of his best singles yet, and that's saying something.
