Review: Badly Drawn Boy returns with his 5th studio album, "Born In The UK", on October 16th. It's his first album in 2 years but is also his best to date. The first track to be heard from the album was the title track which was released on a very limited edition 7" and was playlisted at XFM and 6Music and played by the Blue Room at Radio 1. There were also great write ups in NME, Time Out and Metro among others. The first proper single from the album is one of the best songs Damon's ever written - "Nothing's Gonna Change Your Mind" comes out on October 9th, 1 week before the album which is co-produced by Nick Franglen, one half of animated sampledelic organo-dance maestros Lemon Jelly. The album will be released on CD, deluxe CD and vinyl (single/heavyweight/gatefold).

All You Need Is Love
Review: "Love" is a soundtrack compilation album by The Beatles. It features music compiled and remixed for the Cirque Du Soleil show of the same name. The album was produced by George Martin and his son Giles, with the latter commenting that "What people will be hearing on the album is a new experience, a way of re-living the whole Beatles musical lifespan in a very condensed period."

Review: Chase & Status ride a new wave with their sixth album, honouring their long-held time in the limelight as two of the UK's most powerful bangercrafting hitmakers. While still managing to nod to times past, this limited new LP also works in brand new UK sounds - drill MCs Unknown T and Backroad Gee, for example, make standout appearance on the tracks 'Run Up' and 'When It Rains', while still retaining elements of creativity that are endemic to Chase & Status only. Meanwhile, UK dancehall maintains its strong standing, with Popcaan and IRAH featuring regularly throughout.

Contributing artists include Robyn, Anohni, Greentea Peng, Kelsey Lu, Sudan Archives, and Tyson - as well as a standout cover from revered pop singer Sia, of Cherry's hit song 'Manchild'.

Review: Former Blur guitarist, Graham Coxon's fifth US release is a dynamic rush of gritty, gleeful songs, and one which should be relished immediately. Filled with meaty, relentless guitar riffs and lingering pop hooks to bait even the most skeptical recovering 1990s rock fan, Love Travels at Illegal Speeds is a lucky 13-song fury of tunes. Pleasant one instant, curious the next, revealing always, and bristling with passion.

Review: Fervent Daft Punk fans will be all over this collector's edition of the French duo's soundtrack for the Tron sequel! Spread across two heavyweight 180g slabs of vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve, this new edition features two previously unreleased tracks and a code to grab all thirty tracks on vinyl. Naturally fans will already know that "Derezzed" aside, this is strictly Daft Punk doing soundtrack material as opposed to Daft Punk doing new Daft Punk. Perhaps the most important thing about this release is the lack of any of those somewhat risible remixes that Disney insisted on releasing!

Review: Acclaimed UK singer-songwriter Jess Glynne is a GRAMMY award winner and chart-topping regular who has now unveiled her highly anticipated third studio album, JESS, slated for release via EMI Records. This latest offering is said to be her most personal yet. It is an album that enriches Jess' extensive catalog which already boasts over ten billion global streams and builds on her already remarkable achievements including being the sole British female solo artist to achieve seven number-one hits on the UK Singles Chart. Musically the record shows lots of growth to her artistry as well as plenty of the hooks she is known for.

This record has already been proceeded by lead single 'Biggest Regret (with Bbyafricka)' and the club-ready 'You Know It' last month while 'All That You Need' has also become a ubiquitous anthem this season. Now we get the full thing complete with filthy basslines, bouncing synth top lines and distorted vocal melodies that are catchy and sure to bring the good times to the largest of festival crowds.

The neo-soul singer has been making waves in the underground for a while and now with the power of a full band really ups her game on a collection of personal songs, odes to the metaphysical and plenty in-between. Elements of dub and reggae, broken beat and jazz informed the music while she delivers her stylish vocal twangs with real character and panache up top. There is plenty to get stuck into here, especially in the warmer months.

Review: Greta Van Fleet were either born too late or at exactly the right time. It all depends on how you feel about Led Zeppelin-esque hard progressive rock music, which is a relatively fitting description for the band although not necessarily bang on. Straight out of Frankenmuth, Michigan, the four piece formed of brothers Jake and Josh (twins no less) and Sam Kiszka, and Danny Wagner, know how to wail, riff, and drive tracks forward, and seem disinterested in falling for, or fawning over, the latest best things since sliced bread. Instead, they create these huge rock 'n' roll symphonies that seem made for stadium-sized crowds. Take 'Meeting the Master', for example - any bigger and it would take over the world itself. Even in less grandiose moments, 'Farewell For Now', it's hard to deny the rousing qualities at play. Overall, then, Greta Van Fleet may be exactly what we all needed, without realising it.

Review: Brittany Howard's highly anticipated second studio album What Now is a bold exploration of identity, resilience and the human experience. The Alabama Shakes front-woman's sophomore effort delves deep into themes of self-discovery and social commentary to deliver a raw and visceral sounds that pairs her famously powerful vocals with instrumentation that draws on several different genre references such a soul, funk, rock and gospel. From the anthemic energy of 'Stay High' to the introspection of 'Tomorrow,' each track offers a glimpse into Howard's multifaceted artistry and they all show that Howard's evolution as an artist continues to make her one of today's most compelling voices.

Review: The widely adored jazz and pop crooner Norah Jones is back with another super soothing new album. Vision arrives on the legendary Blue Note and is the ninth full-length from the singer-songwriter but the first in collaboration with Leon Michels who is an instrumental maestro behind the El Michels Affair. He brings plenty of musical richness and charming hooks and melodies to the smoky and soulful vocals of Jones. All 12 tunes are vibrant and joyous as Jones sings about feeling free, wanting to dance, making it right, and acceptance of what life brings. It's a more uplifting work following on from the melancholic vibe of her last outing Pick Me Up Off The Floor which was released early in the early pandemic days of 2020.

Her 2018 album Isolation truly proved that to the world while Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demonios) marked a second album and first Spanish-language project from the great singer. It comes with plenty of re-sung but previously released tracks that explore dreamy latin grooves with mid tempo rhythms and sun kissed pads, as well as new cuts and a collaboration with PartyNextDoor, 'la luna enamorada'

She has dropped a few great records ever since that bring her unique cultural heritage to r&b and result in hooky tunes, feel good grooves and plenty of great songwriting moments. Her critically acclaimed Red Moon In Venus LP from last year now gets followed up by the lush crooner here. Her Latino-heritage imbued compositions make for a second Spanish-language album, following 2020's Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demonios), which is well worth hearing.

Review: The Killers have long-since divided opinion. Yes, tracks like 'Mr Brightside' will still fill dancefloors slick with WKD each and every Saturday night, beer boys and party girls and lost freaks and first-timers all joining together in one of the most memorable choruses of the century so far. But then their penchant for OTT pomp and pageantry has always been something of a stumbling block for many 'proper rock fans'. With that in mind, Pressure Machine could do wonders for breaking down barriers.

We're not in Kansas anymore, that's for sure, but instead Utah, and the small town of Nephi, where lead singer Bradley Flowers grew up. The album effectively takes us on a tour of what was and what probably still is, by way of a more salt of the Earth, somewhat intimate and narratively-driven collection of rock 'n' roll tracks that invoke a timeless sense of American guitar storytelling, albeit with some theatrics still intact.

Review: Given that their last album was released way back in 2009, many thought we'd never hear from Kings of Convenience again. Yet here we are, bathing in the gentle beauty of Peace Or Love, the Norwegian duo's surprise sixth studio album. It's a formidably enjoyable affair that's as easy-going and gently sun-kissed as any of their previous excursions, with the duo adding quietly soulful, soft-focus vocals to tactile and pin-bright backing tracks that combine folksy acoustic guitars, twinkling pianos and lilting strings with shuffling rhythms that variously doff a cap to bossa-nova, samba, classic pop and French chanson. It's not difficult or challenging in any way, but given the state of the world right now, we're more than happy to settle for cheery, soft-focus beauty.

The artists chosen to remix were all selected by McCartney himself and are said to feature "friends, fans, and brand new acquaintances." The record has picked up plenty of positive reviews already and that should be no surprise given the heavyweights included. The likes of Beck, Khruangbin, Dev Hynes, Ed O'Brien, Damon Albarn, Josh Homme, Anderson .Paak, Robert Del Naja, and Idris Elba all make for a contemporary mix with diverse results.

Now he is back with his major label album Exotica featuring guests like Elderbrook, Sophie & The Giants and Lorenz Rhode. It is a big, chart friendly, pop influenced album of disco tinged house grooves. 'Loneliness' (feat Francesca Lombardo) is a particular highlight with infectious bass and cosmic keys next to an airy vocals. 'Hands To The Sky' (feat Fiorious & House Gospel Cjoir) is a tune that will have you rejoicing and celebrating life and the title track is a more peak time but still glossy disco banger.

Review: Given anyone over the age of 35 grew up with copies of Queen: Greatest Hits Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 in the house, you could be forgiven for asking if we need another retrospective of the iconic English rock band. Not least as there's also a Greatest Hits Vol.3, which many don't realise due to the success of the preceding two and how long the third took to materialise after the tragic death of lead singer Freddie Mercury.

Perhaps riding on the shirttails of the Platinum Jubilee of another monarchical figure, The Platinum Collection arrives and, on the face of it, does little that's not been done before. Don't Stop Me Now, Bicycle Race, Bohemian Rhapsody, Under Pressure, Flash - all the usual suspects are here. Keep reading, though, and you realise just how much else is here. Pretty much every great Queen track, plus stacks of post-Mercury singles and cover versions with all ranging from George Michael to Wyclef Jean. What's not to like?

Review: London-based singer-songwriter, producer and DJ SG Lewis is back with his sophomore long player. AudioLust & HigherLove finds the talented creator building on his auspicious debut with a record that is served up in two distinctive halves. His debut was all about colourful and cosmic disco and here he offers driving late-night club bangers as well as ecstatic pop sounds. Both are effortlessly and expertly realised so as to make maximum impact in a range of settings from sweaty back rooms to festival main stages via glistening pool-side parties in Miami. Big hooks, organic instrumentation and vocal eloquence are all in plentiful supply on a record that cements his status as a modern great.

Review: After a run which has seen her re-recording her early albums in defiance of a restrictive record deal, Taylor Swift dropped a bomb at the MTV VMAs this year by announcing her 10th studio album. Since then, the information has been trickling out with the steady precision we expect from one of pop's biggest stars, and finally we can clutch Midnights. An album steeped in concept and supposedly drawing from 13 different sleepless nights from throughout Swift's life, it's a reflection on those strange places we go in ourselves when we choose to burn the midnight oil, crafted alongside her steadfast producer Jack Antonoff. There are a variety of editions of this highly anticipated record, and this Blood Moon pressing is sure to be one of the most coveted.

Review: The ever divisive Kanye West dropped this 10th album Donda on streaming platforms back in August 2021. He has already served up an expanded 'deluxe' version on CD and now it comes on limited edition vinyl. Less over the top than its predecessor, this record continues the iconic artist's infatuation with blending cutting-edge contemporary hip-hop (and nods to his musical roots in the '90s rap scene), R&B and his beloved gospel, resulting in a grandiose and entertaining set that makes use of a huge roll call of guests and collaborators *Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Lil Yachty, Roddy Ricch, Young Thug, Jay Electronica, Travis Scott, The LOX, Kid Cudi, Fivio Foreign and many more.

Review: The Alternative Germ-Free Adolescents offers up a compilation of early demos and alternative studio takes of tracks from the seminal 1978 debut LP from London new wave punk heroes X Ray Spex. Featuring studio recordings from between 1977 to 1978, as half of the original album's cuts came from early singles and B-sides to begin with, the collection also comes stacked with soundboard lifted live performances from The Roxy - the Covent Garden rather than LA one - while closer to home the Peel Sessions capture endlessly enigmatic frontwoman Poly Styrene at the dawn of her frenetic prowess; rawer, more energetic and infectious than any mere words can do justice.
