Review: Released in 1999 and now reissued on black and white splatter vinyl, Clapton Chronicles gathers Eric Clapton's output from the late 80s through the 90s, pulling from albums Journeyman, Unplugged, and Pilgrim to map a period defined less by raw blues and more radio polish through to balladry. Staples like 'Tears In Heaven', written after the death of his son, and 'Change The World', from the Phenomenon soundtrack, trace a turn to introspection and soft-pop crossover. Otherwise, 'Forever Man' and 'Bad Love' preserve flashes of guitar fire. Two new songs, 'Blue Eyes Blue' and '(I) Get Lost' - both slick, adult-contemporary fare - round out the set. If Chronicles leans heavily on mellow moods, it's also a snapshot of Clapton navigating middle age, arena success and personal grief.

Radio Broadcast Oakland 1989
Cat: 115690 2. Rel: 20 Jun 25
Review: In 1989, Oakland played host to a rare meeting of American rock heavyweights, with John Fogerty leading a set packed with Creedence Clearwater Revival staples and solo favourites. Joined by Jerry Garcia and Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead, as well as saxophonist Clarence Clemons of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, the night emulsified key figures from rock's most influential chapters. First aired live on FM radio, this now remastered CD captures the full performance, including raucous renditions of 'Born on the Bayou', 'Proud Mary', and 'Fortunate Son'. The set showcases Fogerty in commanding form, bridging his swamp rock roots with the celebratory energy of the guest ensemble.
