Review: Following up that terrific collaboration recently with man of the moment Ben Boehmer, Berlin-based masked crusader Monolink returns on local powerhouse Embassy One. This is the second series of remixes taken from last year's terrific "Amniotic" LP, and he certainly isn't messing around on this one! Straight away on A1 we have Drumcode legend Adam Beyer lunging straight for the jugular on his moody main-room rework of "Black Day", followed by acclaimed techno hero Nicole Moudaber delivering some irresistible dancefloor drama on her perspective of "Rearrange My Mind". But it's not all about pre-peak time bangers here, and to prove it, Monolink reigned in nu-disco expert Purple Disco Machine for a slo-mo (and very lo-slung) boogie down vibe remix of "Take Me Home" that's perfect for those sunrise sessions at Cafe Mambo.

Review: German producer Adam Port has been a mainstay of the tech house scene since his first drops on Souvenir and liebe*detail back in the late 00s, and here he's linking up with singer-songwriter Monolink for 'Point Of No Return', the kind of brooding song-meets-club epic that fills stadiums with its sheer emotionality. Monolink's voice hits that heavy-hearted tone to match Port's yearning, dramatic production to such great effect, you can entirely understand why they chose to make this release a special single-track 12". If you like your tech house big and bold and shot through with Autumnal moods, you're going to need this record in your life.
