Past Inside The Present is an American ambient label based in Indianapolis, with a focus on ambient, ethereal and minimal music by prominent artists from across the globe. Their next one comes courtesy of prolific Spanish producer Pepo Galan from Malaga (El Muelle Records) with Berlin-based choreographer Sita Ostheimer. The pair have collaborated in one way or another since 2015; Galan having composed music for her dance creations, and Ostheimer recording her delicate vocals for several of his solo albums. Ostheimer's evocative vocal delivery is perfectly accompanied by Galan's mellowed neo-classical tones and restrained flourishes of electronics, for an altogether seductive and poignant listening experience.

"The field recordings for this album were especially intense. Captured during the winter months, there were many days when the temperature was higher than average with strong winds. Initially dissapointed with too much wind noise, I discovered, and was quite surprised, with the results of these captured field recordings. The collection of field recordings became the foundation of these arrangements and consequently became the all encompassing title of these compositions, 'Wind Colors'."

Review: Cult American ambient label Past Inside The Present looks to New York City-based composer Christina Giannone for her new full length Glazed Vision, which is pressed to nice heavy 160 gram pink vinyl. This is her third full length following 202's The Faint and a collaborative work also last year, and it is another development of her dark, heavy, drone fulled ambient landscapes. These are lo-fi, foggy tracks that hang in mid air and make you feel like you're doing the same as only the most subtle of shapeshifting chords brings a sense of motion. It is bleak yet beautiful and never less than hugely absorbing.
