Review: Fresh from releasing his "Sagittarii" album on Bear Funk, the ever-prolific Ilija Rudman is back on his own label Imogen with two stellar remixes from the mighty Ron Trent. First up is the vocal mix of the track, keeping Andre Espeut's passionate voice front and centre around a classy cascade of pattering rhythm and swirling deeper than deep keys. On the flip you get treated to the Imogen Soundsystem edit of Trent's instrumental, which finds the track charting a course for the stars in the most delicate and elegant of ways. Truly life affirming, soul-soaked stuff.

Review: Croatian's finest purveyor of disco and boogie returns with a delish four track EP on Yam Who's ISM imprint. The four tracks have all the delicious trappings of Rudman; dramatic strings, ample helpings of cowbell and vintage synth stabs. The A-Side consists of the sleazy squelch of "Crazy With You" in both original and remixed by Yam Who form, with the latter, more uptempo version just shading it. The flipside consists of the sultry boogie bap of "Let This Dream Be Real", with the original bringing to mind a glacially paced version of Rockers Revenge classic "Walking on Sunshine", while the Disco Dirtbox tweak bumps and grinds in all the right places - totally primed for club play!

Review: Ilija Rudman has been present on the underground disco scene for the last 7 years, running his own imprint - Red Music. Ilija has worked with artists such as Greg Wilson (Tirk), L.S.B.(Eskimo) , Spirit Catcher (2020 / Mood) & Ignition (Kingsize). This is his debut for Rong Music, entitled 'Blast From The Past'.

Review: While Croatian Ilija Rudman's "Call Me Tonight" is a beauty by anyone's standards, it really is all about the remixes this time. The quality of these three wildly different mixes is white hot. Edit king Greg Wilson outdoes himself here taking listeners on a slow disco voyage through melancholic pianos and string hits. Sparse and slightly lighter in mood is Rhythm Based Lovers' dub, which puts the live bass centre stage and builds some quirky old-school drum machine patterns around it. The Revenge yet again delivers too - looping and filtering sections up throughout the track over some thumping nu-disco beats. Three great mixes by three of the hottest names in modern disco. Essential.

Review: Ilija Rudman is certainly a prolific artist, regularly appearing on labels like Is It Balearic? and running his own Imogen label to ensure he's always got an outlet for the classically informed grooves he does so well. Paradigma is his third studio album, and it finds the Croatian producer exploring all manner of moods both day time and nocturnal. At one moment you might be wistfully cruising down the sultry boulevards of "Temptations Trial", only to cosy up with the comely tones of "Creamfields" or the vibrant chords of "Elastica". By and large it's a downtempo affair for private reflection, steeped in 80s glamour and produced with a crystalline perfection to add that all-important glint to your life.

Review: Ilija Rudman is back on his own Imogen label with some gorgeous acidic deep house in the shape of "Essential Dynamics". It's got the perfect balance of emotion and mystery, human warmth and electro soul. Ashley Beedle dives in with the "Afrikanz On Marz Remix", bringing his illustrious soul and funk flourishes to bear on the jam. Fred Everything's take on the track is snug and undulating, anchored by a buttery bassline and rolling at a woozy tempo without losing its party credentials. Kai Alce delivers the remix of the release though, dropping his delicate but eminently funky touch on the track like only he can.

Review: "A side brings Rudman's finest house sounds , for this heavy dancefloor produced track, but in the same time moody and balearic , with a strong synth bassline that easely took control of the vibe and transformed it to a strong dance effect. For the B - side Imogen meets NuNorthern Soul artist Dos Palos , with a slower tempo track , with Ilija Rudman's instrumental stripped down mix of the Lady Of The West Way . This remix sounds and could easily be integrated in any motion picture end having that powerful vibe of goodbye ."

Review: Croatian producer Ilija Rudman delivers two original tracks on an EP that displays the kind of fusion of nu disco and deep house that has made him and his label, Red Music, such big players over the last five years. "Call Me Tonight" and "Night People" are slices of pure funked up dancefloor material. The body-jerking remix comes from one of last year's biggest breakthroughs, The Revenge.

Review: In Vogue Music starts out with a track by Croatian hero Ilija Rudman hailing from the city of Zabreb, who gets down 'n' dirty on "Part Of Me" supplying vocals for his phunked up electro house monster, that has the anthem stocker printed all over! (When it got dropped last week in Austria, people where screaming... Oooh Yesss!!!!) Check also the strength of "Glow" another funky groove with some discoid influences & girlie mumblings running throughout. Last but certainly not least there is "Hair", a dubby house track that should do the trick for sure!

Review: Croatian wonder producer Ilija Rudman strikes back with a slamming release on his own imprint. First up there is a remix of the fabulous "Closer Dancer" track by Spiritcatcher, presenting here a wild and wobbly dance fest with wicked counter breaks and overwhelming squelching noises making this a true winner! The b-side bonanza comes courtesy of Ilija himself, boasting a thumbs-up electro-house workout, with eighties funk atmospheres running throughout! Played by: Cosy Mozzy, Frederik (Majestic), Funk D'Void , Anu (Freeform Five), Markus (1gnition), Paul Woolford, Nic Fancinulli and more.

Review: Ilija Rudman releases another hot EP on his own label, Red Music. "Calypso" seems to point towards the forthcoming summer, with chunky funk laced basslines and light percussion. Both Rudman and his label continue to prove why they are held in such high regard with another fine release.


This release follows on from Rudman's "Call Me Tonight" through his own label, "What Am I Gonna Do" on Under the Shade as well as several releases for the likes of Electric Minds, Rebirth and Tirk.

It picks up in the same place however, with Rudman's instrumental knowledge and musicality shinning through. Like all his productions, this one was made in his full analogue vintage studio. The result here is a spectacularly live sounding slap bass that forms the spine on "Calypso." He uses the beat wisely too, turning simple drum patterns in a seductive rhythm that accentuates the vintage feel of the track. The occasional key slide adds even more charm to his production here and elongated, warm synth stabs complete the wholly enticing atmosphere.


Ilija Rudman will put a smile on your face yet again as he attempts to bring you out of the cold of winter and into his vision of a warm and funky summer. The two tracks included on this release serve as another reminder of the forward thinking fusion of disco and deep house that has made Ilija Rudman such an important name at the moment.
