It's been a strong couple of years for Pyramid Of Knowledge, who first cropped up on Hard Beach Entertainment with a deft twist on the electro tradition. There's plenty of acid in their sound and a nod to breakbeat which comes through plenty on their debut for Craigie Knowes, not least on lead track 'Retro Yongsan'. 'Lovelace' has a gnarly machine funk style which will appeal to those who like their electro grubby and punky, while 'Heart Of Silicum' offers up a more scatty, psychedelic approach which sounds genuinely fresh compared to so much soundalike electro. 'Neuralink' completes the set with swirling arps and snappy drum programming, sealing the deal on Pyramid Of Knowledge's standing as truly inventive operators within the contemporary scene.
