Flame 4 Vox Quad Polyphonic Wavetable VCO Module
Cat: 690791 Rel: 30 May 18

Quad polyphonic wavetable oscillator module with 4 voices per VCO - 29HP
Notes: The 4Vox is a quad wavetable oscillator with up to four voices per VCO, resulting in a maximum of 16 voices at four individual outputs. With the MIDI In the module can be played both with CVs and directly via MIDI which also allows for modulating some additional parameters. There are 39 memory locations for wavetables and 32 for all global parameters of the VCOs.

The parameters of a wavetable can be controlled by CVs and by MIDI. For instance you can morph through a wavetable with a CV, a MIDI controller or manually with the potentiometer. The range of waves within a wavetable can be selected by minimum and maximum values individually per voice which allows for creating more complex morphs.
Further controllable parameters are Detune, Semitone, Octave, Chord, Portamento, Amplitude and Amp Move (90 degrees phase shifted volume modulation of a VCO's 4 voices). Min and max values can be selected for those parameters as well. Via MIDI it's possible to control further parameters (notes, chords, pitch bend, patch selection and wavetable selection)

The VCOs can be played analog (frequency by Pitch CV input), monophonic via MIDI or 4-voice polyphonic via MIDI.
The VCO can be used as a voltage controllable LFO with 3 modes: loop, one shot and gates. The SYNC input is used to trigger/reset the LFO. In one shot mode the LFO can be used as a trigger delay, too (SYNC = trigger in, GATE = trigger output, PITCH = delay time).

Each VCO has an analog 1V/octave input including a fine tune control (+/-1 semitone) and pitch control (approx. 10 octaves), two freely assignable CV inputs, two freely assignable potentiometers, a trigger input for Sync/LFO-reset as well as a Gate and VCO/LFO output

The display can show a graphic of the selected waveforms.

All global parameters and also the VCO's setings can be named and saved as a non-voltaile patch by the user. 32 memory locations are available.

Power consumption: 180mA at +12 V and 50mA at -12 V

Flame Black Filterbank Analogue Resonance Filterbank Sequencer Module
Cat: 1050501 Rel: 13 Dec 24

Analogue resonance filterbank sequencer module - 22HP
Notes: Flame Black Filterbank is an analogue moving resonance filter bank.

The module is based on the Flame Curves and combines its most important functions in a more compact format. As a result, the individual outputs for the filter channels no longer found a place on the front panel.

The filterbank includes twelve-channel and a pattern player programmable via a software editor. You can use a freeware "Curves editor software" (Win/Mac) for setup and user pattern editing. The module needs a clock to run in pattern-mode. It also features a reset input to set the sequence back to the first step. The memory in the module can save up to 99 patterns. The active pattern can be seen on the display and selected thanks to two buttons.

When the Black Filterbank is in sequencer mode, the Envelope potentiometer controls the AR envelope, the Variation knob adds random velocity and release, and the Fill potentiometer controls the level of all the channels.

In manual mode, when the sequencer is off, you can select different filter-types with the Variation potentiometer: allpass, lowpass, bandpass 1-3 and highpass. Thanks to the Fill knob it is possible to sweep through the twelve filter bands. The Envelope knob smooths the sweep by activating a second band next to the selected filter band. Thus, the change from one band to another is not so abrupt.

It is also possible to play the twelve filters via MIDI like a drum module, thanks to the supplied MIDI to minijack cable. It even reacts to velocity.

There are several CV inputs for controlling Envelope, Variation and Fill parameters as well as the pattern number.

Flame MemoSlider 8-Stage CV Scan Module
Cat: 650242 Rel: 12 May 17

Programmable slider step sequencer CV source module - 10HP
Notes: Flame's MemoSlider is a performance-oriented CV and trigger sequencer. The module's eight steps can be manually selected via a fader or a control voltage. - This can happen either freely or synchronized to an external clock signal. Of course, it is also possible to use the MemoSlider as a classic step sequencer. In this mode of operation, the fader determines the playback direction and number of steps. Several CV outputs and glide options make the MemoSlider even more versatile. - A great tool for creating complex modulations or arpeggios.

The MemoSlider is an analog sequencer with eight steps. CV values are set via potentiometers. Two outputs emit voltages in the range from 0 V to +10 V and -5 V to +5 V simultaneously. For smooth transitions between steps, there is a glide function with three time ranges. A potentiometer is used for fine adjustments. The glide parameter can be modulated via a CV input. When switching between steps, the module generates trigger signals (+5 V).

The MemoSlider features three modes of operation. Details:

Slider mode: Steps can be selected manually via the module's fader or a control voltage.
S&H mode: Similar to the slider mode. Here, the module switches between steps only if a pulse at the trigger input is detected.
Stepseq: Classic sequencer mode. Pulses at the trigger input make the module switch between steps. In addition, there is a reset input. The fader can be used to determine the running direction and the step count.
Thanks to a slider CV output with a range of 0 V to +5 V, the fader can be used as a control element for other modules as well.

Power consumption: 40mA at +12 V and 5mA at -12 V

Flame Mirror Unipolar Inverter Module
Cat: 810269 Rel: 08 Feb 21

CV offset & inverting module - 6HP
Notes: The module inverts an applied positive voltage so that the maximum value becomes zero and zero becomes the maximum value.

The input voltage is not inverted into the negative voltage range (mirror axis 0v) but mirrors a positive voltage around an adjustable axis within a fixed positive voltage range starting at 0v.

There are 10 ranges, adjustable in 1V steps.
The mirror axis is always at half of the set range.

If no cable is plugged into the input socket, the output voltages can be regulated manually with the "Manualy" potentiometer.

The module has two similar function groups.

Applications are for example the inversion within positive voltage ranges, GATE inversions (0/+5v to +5v/0v), or opposite melody lines.

Notes: The FLAME "PANMIX" module contains two independent panning mixers with one input each on two outputs left/right and is designed for audio or CV sources in the voltage range +-5v (audio modular level). In addition, the 2 inputs can be switched separately to +6db audio (for external audio line level sources) using the slide switch on the rear panel.

The movements of the two mix controls can be recorded. The recording time per channel is more than one minute. The playback speed can be adjusted in playback. The recorded track is played back once when the Play button is pressed briefly (one shot) or in the loop when the button is pressed a little longer.

Both panning channels have a separate reset input as well as a separate CV input (+-5V ) for controlling the mix e.g. by an LFO. The track data remains permanently stored (battery buffered memory).

In addition, there are three further audio/CV signal inputs (a mono and stereo left+right), which are routed directly to the output and mixed together with the two PAN channels. This allows you to mix in other sources directly and e.g. connect two or more "PANMIX" modules together.

Flame QSlider Control Voltage Source Module (black)
Cat: 1071722 Rel: 14 Feb 25

The QSlider black is an analogue CV source with four 60 mm faders
Notes: The QSlider black is an analogue CV source with four 60 mm faders.

The control range of the four sliders can be defined with two min/max controls.

The Min controller determines the output voltage at zero position of the slider and the Max controller determines the output voltage at the end position of the slider.

The slider now regulates between these two voltages. This allows you to restrict the control range and still have the entire control path of the slider available.

The reverse voltage is available at a second output socket (min and max are reversed). This means that the slider can also be used as a crossmix fader.

Two common channels can be operated unipolar or bipolar. The voltage ranges are 0..+10V or +/- 5V.

The output sockets are located on an extra 4HP panel for mounting at any point (with approx. 40cm long connection cable). This means that several modules can also be mounted seamlessly next to each other.

Power consumption: 30mA at +12V and 20mA at -12V and 12mA at +5V

Quad control voltage source module - 18HP
Notes: The QSlider is an analog CV source with four 60 mm faders.

The control range of the four sliders can be set with two min/max controls.
The Min control sets the output voltage at zero position of the slider and the Max control sets the output voltage at the end position of the slider. The slider now controls between these two voltages. This allows you to limit the control range and still have the full control range of the slider available.
At a second output socket the inverted voltage is available (Min and Max are reversed). So the slider can also be used as a crossmix fader.

Two common channels can be operated uni- or bipolar. The voltage ranges are 0..+10V or +/- 5V.

The output sockets are located on an extra 4HP panel for mounting at any place (with approx. 40cm long connection cable). This way several modules can be mounted seamlessly next to each other.

Flame Quad CV Recorder Module
Flame Quad CV Recorder Module (modular synthesiser)
Cat: 690792 Rel: 30 May 18

4-channel CV recorder, looper & lo-fi sampler module - 14HP
Notes: The QUAD CV RECORDER is a four-track cv recorder/looper that lets you record and play back voltage changes from various sources in 16-bit resolution allowing for smooth progressions even at very slow playback speed.
The recording time can extend to an hour depending on your synchronization and it's easily possible to do punch in/out recordings during performance.
You can sync the module via clock or MIDI.

The QUAD CV RECORDER features 4 independent tracks for recording and playing back control voltages i.e. analog sequences, envelopes or controller movements from external sources and/or movements of the rotary knobs ( pots ) on the front panel.
Control voltages can be recorded in either range -5V/+5V or 0/+9V, individually adjustable per track. All recordings and settings are automatically saved and will be readily available the next time you turn on your modular system.
ZOOM is a two stage fine adjust function of the control ruler.
When recording movements of a pot you can use the ZOOM function during playback to 'zoom' into the current position of the knob ( in this case the position in the recording time ).
A smaller segment of the recording will then be mapped to the rotation range of the knob, giving you a finer control over this portion of the recording.
The start and end positions of a recording can be changed at any time as well as the playback speed.
Smoothing algorithms eliminate the so-called 'stair-step effect' and ensure smooth playback even at very slow speeds.
You can play back each track either by hand, pressing the respective PLAY button or using Gate or MIDI start/stop.
Playback modes are LOOP, SINGLE, GATE ( while Gate is on ) and SCAN which lets you move freely through the recording, forwards or backwards ( controlled by an external LFO for instance ) or jump to random points in recording time.
Each track can be synced separately by clock trigger or MIDI clock.
The QUAD CV RECORDER recognizes the clock (ticks per bar) automatically.
It is possible to make a one hour long recording on each track with a MIDI clock of 96 ticks per bar.
The settings HARD/SOFT provide different degrees of smoothing of synchronization.
The LINK button allows for simplified multitrack recording:
ALL combines all 4 tracks controlled through track 1, DUAL combines the track pairs 1+2 and 3+4 which might be handy for use with controllers that generate voltage pairs, like joysticks etc.
Future software updates can be easily performed via MIDI sysex dump.
A MIDI adapter is provided with the unit.

Flame Takt Rhythm Sequencer Module
Cat: 973764 Rel: 18 Dec 23

8-track rhythm sequencer module with trigger, adjustable gate, velocity and mod CV and quad LFO - 30HP
Notes: FLAME "TAKT" rhythm sequencer.

"TAKT" is a compact 30HP Eurorack sequencer module for playing or programming trig- ger/gate/velocity rhythm sequences.

The sequencer has 8 tracks with trigger/gate outputs, 8 velocity/modulation CV outputs and full MIDI functionality. The CV track can also be used independently as a modulation track. Live sequencing in looper mode is possible in two ways: SHOTS for playing "note repeats" or quantized triggering via keys or sensors.

Four tracks can be triggered simultaneously with four external distance sensors. These sensors are just 2HP slim modules that can be rack mounted at desired locations. These are connected directly to the module with narrow and sufficiently long ribbon cables, which also supplies the sensors with the necessary operating voltage. The 4 sensors and the connection cables are included in the scope of delivery. The sensors generate trig- gers/gates and can be switched live as a set between tracks 1-4 and 5-8 (e.g. via foots- witch).

Four syncable LFOs with VCOs for amplitude adjustment are also provided. The LFOs are equipped with many interesting functions. This includes 26 different waveforms, phase, amplitude, speed and output voltage. This can be unipolar or bipolar (0..+5v or +/- 5v) and additionally attenuated by AMP (amplitude) with built-in VCA. This means that the LFO outputs can also be adapted to modules that do not have an input attenuator.

Patterns can be switched live and are each up to 4 bars long. 4 patterns plus a fill pat- tern are saved as a scene. 50 scenes can be permanently stored in the module. This means that 250 patterns are available in total.

Additional inputs and outputs for controls are available. There are 4 CV inputs to be defi- ned by the user, as well as 2 programmable analog clock outputs. On the front there are MIDI input and output as 3.5mm TRS sockets. Firmware updates can be done via MIDI- SYSEX.

Flame Ton Melody Looper Module
Flame Ton Melody Looper Module (modular synthesiser)
Cat: 973767 Rel: 21 Jun 24

Duophonic melody looper & quantizer module - 12HP
Notes: Really nice melody sequencer module from Flame. Create patterns and then modify them using features like note repeats, transposing options or even the built-in distance sensor.

Supplier's Notes:
"TON" is a 12HP wide Eurorack live sequencer module for creating two note sequences. There are two 1V/octave outputs with GATE/NOTE/VELOCITY. Notes can also be sent via MIDI. Both note tracks are independent of each other and can be used in different octave spreads. In addition to the analog connection, the module has full MIDI functionality. It can be synchronized via analogue clock or via MIDI.

The sequencer is designed as a looper. It plays a pattern of up to four bars in a loop. The notes can be played (or deleted) quantized with two buttons. One button is used for note repeats, another for setting individual events. The pitch is determined by either the potentiometer or the built-in distance sensor. The sensor works in a range of about 1 to 40 cm and is independent of extraneous light. Even bright sunlight does not affect it.

A 1-octave mini-keyboard allows transposing on the fly and setting a scale. Since the module has two CV inputs, it can also be used as a two-channel quantizer or arpeggiator. All settings of the current pattern are simply saved together in a patch. There are 5 banks with 7 seats each (per mini-keyboard) available. This allows up to 35 patterns to be managed. The patches can also be selected via CV or MIDI program change and can be saved and reloaded on the fly.

The pattern can be manipulated during and after the import with eg: gate length, velocity, random, last step, hold, mute, glide, scale and transposition. Both tracks can have different settings. With TRACK-Link, however, parameters can also be applied to both tracks at the same time. This is helpful, for example, with transpositions or duophonic playing.

Flame uMCLK MIDI Clock Divider Module
Cat: 757290 Rel: 26 Feb 20

MIDI clock divider module - 5HP
Notes: The "uMCLK Divider" module can either work as a MIDI clock divider or as an analog clock divider. The divider outputs are assigned differently in both operating modes.

After receiving a MIDI start command, the module works as a MIDI clock divider. There are fixed dividers on 11 outputs. Via the divider output KEYS, triggers can be triggered and mixed via MIDI notes. The keyboard zone extends over three octaves. With the help of the LEARN key, the receive MIDI channel and the lowest note of this 3-octave range can be defined.

When stopped (i.e. after receiving a MIDI stop command or after switching on), the module works as an analog clock divider and divides the analog clock present at the CLOCK input. The 12 analog divider outputs can be reprogrammed via SYSEX. Ready-made SYSEX files are already available (e.g. for even / odd dividers, Fibonacci series, offbeats, etc.). The RESET input resets the analog counters or serves to deactivate the analog divider.

Vocoding meets CV looping in this unique module. Eight-channel, 16-band analogue vocoder pluss built-in digital oscillator and VCAs make the Vocorder a versatile sound sculpting tool.

Supplier's Notes:
The Flame Vocorder module is a compact combination of an analogue vocoder and digital CV recorder (looper). At its heart is an 8-channel analogue vocoder with a total of 16 analogue bandpass filters for analysis and synthesis.

The analogue analysis envelope CVs are digitised and output to the analogue VCAs of the synthesis bands via a DA converter.

With the help of the record function, the envelope CVs of the analysis channels can also be recorded digitally and played back in the loop. You can manipulate the playback in different ways: swap channels on the fly (rerouting), change speed and playback direction, etc.

The module can also be used for "normal vocoding": the envelopes are always looped through via AD/DA conversion (direct vocoding) and can of course also be recorded. During playback, the analysis unit is ineffective because the envelopes are played back from the memory.

There are two audio inputs for analysis (voice, drum etc) and synthesis (instrument).

For internal synthesis, there is a monophonic digital oscillator with three waveforms and an analogue noise generator. There is also an unvoiced/voiced switch (controls the highpass with noise for sibilants). A respective mix control is responsible for both synthesis sources.

The VCO has a 1V/oct input and an additional direct audio output.

The synthesis filters have audio outputs for odd/mono and even (mixing of even/odd channels).

The looper-recorder has the following functions: Record, Start, Stop buttons.

A triple toggle switch for playback direction forward, backward, ping-pong, another for the type of triggering: loop, one-shot, gated.

You can record for about one minute. The playback speed is adjustable (also via CV).

The sampled loop remains in the battery-buffered memory even after switching off.

In addition, there is a control for rerouting the filter channel assignments from analysis (or recorded channel) to the synthesis filters, also accessible via CV. A freeze function is also available.

The Filter/Cutoff knob manually controls the synthesis bands with a combined lowpass/bandpass/highpass algorithm, so the synthesis filters can also be used as simple audio filters.

Power consumption: max. 220mA at +12 V and 190mA at -12 V

Flame Vocorder Analogue Spectral Looper Module
Cat: 834524 Rel: 11 Aug 21

Analogue spectral looper/vocoder module - 12HP
Notes: The Flame "Vocorder" module is a compact combination of an analog vocoder and a digital CV recorder (looper). The centerpiece is an 8-channel analog vocoder with a total of 16 analog bandpass filters for analysis and synthesis.

The analog generated analysis envelope CVs are digitized and output via the DA converter to the analog VCAs of the synthesis tapes. With the help of the record function, the envelope CVs of the analysis channels can also be recorded digitally and played back in the loop. You can manipulate the playback in different ways: swap filter channels on the fly (rerouting), change speed and playback direction etc.

The module can also be a "normal classic vocoder": the envelopes are then always looped through via AD / DA conversion (direct vocoding) and can of course also be recorded. The analysis unit is ineffective during playback because the envelopes are played back from the memory. The current version is very compact, the module is only 12HP wide - see photo.

There are two audio inputs for analysis (voices, drum etc) and synthesis (instruments). A monophonic digital oscillator with three waveforms and an analog noise generator are available for internal synthesis. There is also an unvoiced / voiced switch (controls the highpass with noise when there is sibilance). A respective mix controller is responsible for both synthesis sources. The VCO has a 1V / oct input and an additional direct audio output. The synthesis filters have audio outputs for odd / mono and even (mix of even / odd channels).

The looper recorder has the following functions: buttons for record, start, stop. A triple toggle switch for the playback direction forwards, backwards, ping-pong, another for the type of triggering: Loop, OneShot, Gated. You can record about up to three minutes. The playback speed is adjustable (also via CV). The sampled loop is retained in the battery-backed memory even after switching off.

In addition, there is a controller for rerouting the filter channel assignments from the analysis (or recorded channel) to the synthesis filters, also accessible via CV. A freeze function is also available.

The filter / cutoff control regulates the synthesis bands manually with a combined lowpass-bandpass-highpass algorithm, so the synthesis filters can also be used as simple audio filters.

Flame X-4 Quad Envelope VCA Module
Cat: 731213 Rel: 08 May 19

Quad Envelope & voltage controlled amplifier - 10HP
Notes: The FLAME "X-4" is a compact multifunctional 4x Envelope / VCA module, which combines in a very small space (10HP) 4 AR envelopes and 4 separate VCAs.
The module complements quad VCOs (eg the FLAME "4VOX") to control 4 VCAs per envelope generator in a small space.
Each channel can be used separately as an AR envelope generator with VCA, or even as a VCA.

There are 3 modes:
AR: four CV controllable separate Attack/Release envelopes on 4 VCA channels (per gate)
AD: four CV controllable separate Attack/Decay envelopes on 4 VCA channels (oneshot per trigger)
VCA: four CV controllable separate VCAs

There is available a three-level switch for three different envelope rates from extremely short to long.
The envelope shape is set with the sliders (also adjustable via CV inputs).
In addition, the envelope can be looped (gated AD envelope loop).

Flame XPanMix Crossfader & Panning Recorder Module
Cat: 757288 Rel: 27 Nov 19

Crossmixer & panning recorder module - 6HP
Notes: The FLAME "XPANMIX" module is a combination of an XFADER (Crossmixer) recorder and a PANNING Mixer recorder.

The upper part of the module contains the XFADER with two inputs to one output.
In the lower part of the module is the panning mixer with one input to two outputs left/right.
The inputs are designed for audio or CV sources with a voltage range of +-5v (Audio Modular Level).
In addition, the inputs can be switched separately to +6db audio (for external audio line level sources) using the slide switch on the rear panel.

The movements of the two mix controls can be recorded. The recording time per channel is over two minutes. The playback speed is adjustable in playback.
The recorded track is played back once when the Play button is pressed briefly (one shot) or in the loop when the button is pressed a little longer.

Both mixers have a separate reset input as well as a separate CV input ( +-5V ) for controlling the mix e.g. by an LFO.
The track data remains permanently stored (battery buffered memory).

In addition, the output of the XFader is routed to the input of the Panning Mixer if there is no cable in the PAN input.
Both mixers are thus connected in sequence and can additionally mix the XFADER in the stereo image.

Overview:

XFADER and PANNING channels with 1 mix control each
Record time (per channel) approx. 2 min
3 Signal/Audio Inputs (Audio or CV) (-5v..+5v)
all inputs separately switchable to audio with line level at rear
Mix can also be controlled via CV
each channel has separate reset input
XFADER output normalized to panning input
