Crazy Tube Circuits Constellation CV7003 Limited Edition Analogue Fuzz Effects Pedal (black)
Cat: 873659 Rel: 10 May 22

All analogue sonic recreations of 5 legendary fuzz circuits plus a future classic combination
Notes: All analogue sonic recreations of 5 legendary fuzz circuits plus a future classic combination.

For this limited run of our Constellation Fuzz we carefully hand-select NOS germanium CV7003 transistors (military spec OC44) made in the UK by Texas Instruments in 1968.

Each pedal is built by hand, one at a time in our workshop in Athens, Greece and comes in a beautiful laser-etched aluminum enclosure and natural stained wooden box.

Voicings:

FF: a tribute to the most copied fuzz circuit.
VTB: inspired by the Italian made fuzz circuit
3/2: voiced after the mythical circuit knows as mk1.5
2: the soaring gain 3-transistor fuzz circuit
RM: a treble booster as close as it gets to the real thing
RMFF: a tailor made RM into a FF

Note: Constellation CV7003 requires a centre negative power supply for proper operation ( - centre, + ring ). It is a positive ground circuit. Do not use a daisy chain power supply with negative ground effects. Please make sure to use an isolated power supply output!

Crazy Tube Circuits Crossfire Dual Channel Overdrive/PreAmp Effects Pedal
Cat: 872884 Rel: 19 Apr 22

Dual channel overdrive & preamp effects pedal
Notes: Crossfire is inspired by one of the most iconic pedal - amp combinations in guitar history.

The left side is voiced after the blackface amps that defined clean electric guitar sounds. All analogue and following the circuit path to the exact detail Crazy Tube managed to include all the essential sonic ingredients. From the big bold lows, sparkly highs and slightly scooped mids, to the powerful sound of a solid state rectified 4x 6L6GC power amp or the sponginess of a tube rectified 2x 6L6GC power amp selectable through the headroom switch.

Match that to the green mid-hump overdrive we've all grown to love, upon its inception in the late 70s, found on the right side. Crazy Tube chose to accurately recreate the circuit of this classic overdrive but with the addition of some of the most common modifications the pedal has seen throughout the years of its mass production or boutique variations. A clipping toggle switch selects between symmetrical (original) or asymmetrical clipping for enhanced touch-sensitive drive characteristics while a gain toggle adds more gain and alters the low frequency response making it reminiscent of placing two of the same overdrive pedals in series. An internal switch offers additional headroom by providing 18V DC to the overdrive circuit.

Warning: This unit was designed for 9V DC input only. Do not use a higher voltage power supply.

A passive effects loop gives you the option to connect your beloved pedals in the signal chain building your ideal rig or use the two sides independently (send is the output of the overdrive side, return is the input of the amp side). When both sides are in bypass mode the loop is true bypass as well, so your signal won't be affected at all.

It's a match made in heaven! Turn your rig into a screaming sparkly blackface machine!

Power supply: 9V DC center negative, regulated / stabilized.
Max current consumption: 83mA

Crazy Tube Circuits Cyclone Phaser Modulation Pedal
Cat: 873669 Rel: 03 May 22

Cyclone is an all analogue phaser effect voiced after classic phaser designs of the past.
Notes: Cyclone is an all analogue phaser effect voiced after classic phaser designs of the past. Crazy Tube Circuits set out to emulate the phasing notches - frequency shifts and the behaviour of the original unit that each of the voicings is modelled after. With the addition of extra controls, not part of the classic designs, a whole range of classic and non-classic uses become available making it an ideal texture machine with unparalleled harmonic richness.

Besides guitar and bass, it can be used on any instrument and works particularly well with classic keyboard sounds.

Place before or after your favourite drive to create different sound effect and texture.

Voicings:

(current version: revB - units with serial number #210 or higher)

45: Voiced after a classic 2 stage phaser born in mid 70s

Add spacy ambience to your sound with this subtle and musical effect somewhere between

a warm, organic phaser and a rotary speaker effect.

The higher depth settings on this voicing are strongly recommended.

90: Voiced after a classic 4 stage phaser from the 70s.

From subtle warm, shimmering modulation to all-out high velocity swoosh.

The original units and their alterations/derivatives had little or no feedback signal at all. With the addition of the feedback knob you can emulate all these different versions and then some.

ST: Voiced after the 1st implementation of another classic 4 stage phaser design of the 70s.

Stronger and dirtier mid frequency notches for a whirling, pulsating and whooshing phaser effect. The original unit had a switch to select between no feedback and a fixed amount of feedback. With the addition of the feedback knob you can emulate all the in-between settings and more.

LT: Mesmerising phaser/vibrato. Voiced after a highly sought-after boutique phaser pedal that came to life during the 90s in the UK with 4 distinct phase shift notches. Takes an ideal space between a phaser and a vibe type of effect (depending on settings). Our take focuses mainly on the classic phaser/vibe, not the extreme sci-fi, sounds that were available from the original unit.

Crazy Tube Circuits Golden Ratio Phi V2 Multi-Mode Analogue Compressor Effects Pedal
Cat: 850761 Rel: 03 Dec 21

Three fully analogue compressor circuits in one unit.
Notes: The updated Golden Ratio now offers three separate analogue compression circuits in one. Choose from FET, OTA and optical modes at the flick of a switch. Fat tones with simple controls.

Supplier's Notes:
Phi has been updated to include 3 separate compressor circuits at a flip of a toggle switch.

An internal smart switching circuit lets you decide which type of compression works best for you featuring a wide range of compression ratio from 1:1 to 20:1

Each all-analog circuit is totally independent and has its own voice with different compression characteristics, range and response of controls to suit every style.

FET compressor: This is a feed-back detector / control compression circuit that relies on a FET transistor for gain reduction. It adds a distinctive color to the signal and can be set for super-fast response, but it may also introduce a bit of musical distortion.

OTA compressor: The majority of guitar compressors use this technology. Our interpretation uses a feed-forward detector circuit thus being able to "squeeze" things harder, ideal for catching fast transients and limiting. It is the most controllable circuit with punchy and direct sound.

OPTO (Optical) compressor: A hand selected photocell combined with a feed-back detector circuit offer smooth attack and release characteristics resulting in very musical and organic compression even on extreme settings. It can also be set very neutral so that you won't be able to tell when it's on but you sure going to miss it when it's gone.

Phi will fatten up your tone even with no compression added. With the parallel compression technique of blending the compressed signal with the original - uncompressed signal, you will experience clarity and precision only found in studio recordings.

An internal switch selects between 9 or 18V DC of operation from a standard 9V DC power supply via an internal voltage multiplier. Use the 18V setting for increased headroom and enhanced compression characteristics.

Features superb low-noise floor performance and full frequency response making it ideal for guitar, bass and virtually every instrument either on studio or stage.

Dimensions: 125 (l) x 72 (w) x 55 (h) mm
Weight: 350 g

Crazy Tube Circuits Heatseeker Dual Channel Amp & Preamp-Enhancer Effect Pedal
Cat: 1060604 Rel: 19 Dec 24

Follows the successful concept of Crazy Tube's "Unobtanium", "Hi Power", and "Crossfire": all-analogue dual pedal designed to recreate a legendary pedal and amp combination
Notes: For those about to rock... Crazy Tube Circuits have created the Heatseeker!

The sound of a classic wireless system meets three iconic amps that helped shape the history of rock. From its inception/invention, in the mid-70s, this wireless system has been the secret recipe to major rock guitar rigs. The magic ingredient lies to its analogue preamp/ tone enhancer circuit that expands the dynamic response and harmonics of any signal that goes through it. By producing a modern recreation of this hidden gem, there is enough percussive attack to spice up your tone.

Utilizing an all-analogue JFET circuit, running on 27 volts via an internal voltage boost, Crazy Tube have captured the tone and feel of three British tube amplifiers synonymous with the sound of rock and roll with excellent clean-to-mean dynamic response. The "WoS" (Wall of Sound) circuit opens up the soundstage by increasing output and adding thundering lows and dense high mids. The effect is similar to "adding" a wall of amp heads and full stacks to your rig!

A passive effects loop gives you the option to connect your beloved pedals between the two sections, building your ideal rig.

Follows the successful concept of Crazy Tube's "Unobtanium", "Hi Power", and "Crossfire": All-analogue dual pedal designed to recreate a legendary pedal and amp combination.

Inspired by the tones of the gear setup used by Angus Young.

Right side: re-creation of the preamp/tone enhancer circuit of the Schaffer Vega Diversity System.

Left side: 3 distinct Marshall amps-in-a-box: JTM45, 1959 Super Lead, JMP 2203.

Passive series effects loop to connect pedals between the two sections or use them separately as independent effects.

Crazy Tube Circuits HiPower Amp & Speaker Simulation Effects Pedal
Cat: 986581 Rel: 02 Jan 24

Pedal + amp-in-a-box overdrives recreating legendary sounds, following the success of Crossfire and Unobtanium
Notes: HI POWER is Crazy Tube Circuits' next endeavour in pedal + amp-in-a-box overdrives recreating legendary sounds, following the success of Crossfire and Unobtanium.

It was inspired by the sonic combination of two British tone machines. The almighty Colorsound Power Boost meets the blistering high-headroom Hiwatt amp.

While the combination of these two units directly hints at the gear setup of David Gilmour and especially the gear used on Pink Floyd's album: Wish You Were Here (think the guitar solo sounds of "Shine on you Crazy Diamond", "Have A Cigar") the sonic options are endless.

The orange enclosure silicon transistor circuit (Colorsound Power Boost) can deliver from a transparent clean boost to an all-out fuzz driving a tube amp to sonic bliss. Crazy Tube Circuits set out to clone the original unit featuring the true-to-the-original spec BC184 transistors running on 18V DC (via an internal voltage booster circuit).

The ultra-flexible 2-band Baxandall EQ circuit can add bite and low-end rumble to any setup. Crazy Tube Circuits used a reverse log gain pot (labelled as volume), compared to the linear taper pot found in the original units and acted as an on/off switch, to be able to set the amount of boost/overdrive more precisely. While the earlier units didn't feature a master volume control (only as an aftermarket mod - Pete Cornish made an external unit master volume for David Gilmour's Power Boost) Crazy Tube Circuits chose to include one that is setup in a way so that when it is all the way clockwise it is bypassed. Later versions of the Power Boost had 9V power supply and were renamed as the "Overdriver" due to the lower headroom and their ability to drive the signal earlier. They were offered in a grey enclosure and can be seen in the gear setups of Jeff Beck, Marc Bolan, etc. Crazy Tube Circuits chose to incorporate this version as well with a flip of a toggle switch (PWR-ODR toggle switch).

On the left side of the HI POWER you will find an all-analogue circuit set out to emulate the sound and feel of a Hiwatt amp. Following the path of the famed British tube amplifier, this circuit offers authentic amp tone and feel resembling guitar tones from guitar greats like David Gilmour, Pete Townsend, Jimmy Page, Noel Gallagher to name a few. From the big bold high-headroom clean sounds to the face-melting crunchy tones.

True to the last detail, Crazy Tube Circuits have included the full EQ section along with a presence control located at the negative feedback of the power amp simulation circuit. A headroom toggle switch selects between the high headroom 100w power section provided by a quartet of EL34s (think Hiwat DR103), or the lower headroom and compression provided by a 50W power section with a pair of EL34s when hit hard (think DR504). Similar in operation to the original amps the master volume was designed to produce more gain at higher settings.

Crazy Tube Circuits taken the design a step further by adding a switch to select between input channels of the amplifier. You can select between the full response of the normal channel of the amplifier, the increased presence and tight low end of the bright channel input or the "Gilmour-ish" enhanced frequency response and added gain of those inputs linked together. This follows the modifications that Pete Cornish did to all David Gilmour's Hiwatt amps.

Like their other dual overdrive/amp-in-a-box designs, Crazy Tube Circuits also included a passive effects loop to give you the option to connect your beloved pedals between your booster/overdrive and amp in a box or use the two sections as separate and independent effects when using an external bypass switcher/looper. Gilmour enthusiasts will love to insert their Big Muff, Tube Driver and Phase 90 in there. Note that all pedals inserted in the passive effects loop are still in the signal chain when any or both sections of HI POWER are in bypass.

HI POWER features a power-up bypass/engage pre-set function for the footswitches. That way you can select which state your pedal will go to when you plug the power supply. This function comes in especially handy to people that use remote pedal switchers / loopers as they only set the state of the pedal once and then operate from the controller.

Crazy Tube Circuits Motherload Fuzz/Distortion Effects Pedal
Cat: 935805 Rel: 03 Apr 23

A fuzz/distortion effects pedal.
Notes: Motherload pays homage to the classic fuzz/distortion pedals that set the benchmark of saturated guitar sound. At the heart of this pedal you will find two distinct all analogue circuits inspired by the Holy Grail of Muff and Rat designs.

R circuit goes from a touch of overdrive all the way up to full out saturated tones. The filter knob is there to ensure that you will smooth out high frequencies or cut through the mix when needed.

M side is the classic fuzz distortion beast you would expect but with great string separation and rich in harmonics for almost infinite sustain. The tone knob is the classic muff style knob while the voice knob helps you cycle through the wide spectrum of muff design variations.

Each circuit is independent from the other with its own EQ control(s) until...you hit the LINK EQ button. This is where all the magic happens! Now all the EQ controls are active in both circuits and whole new sonic palette is revealed.

Crazy Tube Circuits Sidekick Jr. Time-Based Multi-Effects Pedal
Cat: 969279 Rel: 18 Oct 23

Modulation, delay and reverb effect pedal.
Notes: The perfect companion now comes in a smaller package - introducing Sidekick JR by Crazy Tube Circuits!

Drawing inspiration from the original Sidekick pedal released back in 2019, the aim was to create a compact pedal that combines the most widely used time-based effects, suitable for any gear setup seeking 80s tones and beyond.

From the jangly, ambient, and shimmering sounds of New Wave, Shoegaze, and Synth Pop to the wet tones of Hair / Glam Metal. Crazy Tube Circuits' Sidekick JR offers even more sounds / algorithm selections compared to the original unit.

The modulation effects / algorithms take inspiration from classic 80s stompboxes. The "Ensemble" algorithm replicates warm and mild modulated chorus sounds, while the "dimension" algorithm enhances the 3D image of your sound without the typical chorus warble. The "flanger" algorithm draws from a classic flanger pedal set up as a slow chorus with mild feedback added for a more metallic sound.

The Echo / delay section provides the sweet and vibrant sound of a tape echo with a freshly installed tape running through a colourful preamp, or the pristine repeats of an 80s digital delay rack unit.

The Reverb section in Sidekick JR is inspired by definitive examples of 80s reverb rack units and offers two algorithm banks. Bank A includes all-time classic reverb sounds like "plate," "spring," and "hall," while Bank B features signature 80s reverb sounds like "gated," "exciter" (Crazy Tube Circuits' trademark big-hall reverb algorithm with almost infinite reflections and decay), and octave-up "shimmer."

To provide full flexibility in the smallest enclosure possible, Crazy Tube Circuits has devised a smart switching setup. The delay and reverb effect sections of Sidekick JR operate independently from each other, and the modulation is assignable to any of these sections as standard. With the addition of the XT footswitch (available separately), the modulation section becomes entirely independent and can be switched on/off (true bypass) on its own.
Crazy Tube Circuits' Sidekick JR also features a power-up bypass/engage pre-set function for the onboard footswitches. This feature allows users to select the state the pedal will go to when the power supply is plugged in. It's particularly useful for individuals who use remote pedal switchers /loopers, as they can set the power-up state of the pedal once and then operate it from the controller.

Using a unique setup of paralleling 2 low gain silicon transistors we've managed to produce a sound that will convince even a NOS OC44 enthusiast. Use it to push an already overdriven amp or add presence and bite to a dark sounding setup.

ep: JFET preamp - gain stage based on the preamp circuit of a tape echo unit of the early 70s run on true to the original specs 24V DC power supply via an internal voltage boost. This tone enhancer is known for its magical coloration and the added focus and detail it gives to your sound.

ma: op-amp boost based on a clean and "transparent" volume booster of the late 70s / early 80s. This circuit is a "reference" to louder solos. Use it to run long signal chains with its low output impedance or drive your amp harder into natural saturation.

mf: based on a late 90s ultra-transparent, high input impedance MOSFET boost. This interpretation doesn't crackle but still retains the massive clean boost with pristine highs sonic identity of the circuit it was modelled after.

Crazy Tube Circuits have added tone shaping modifications, individual to each circuit, that you can switch at will via the white and black button modifiers.

White button modifier operates only on rm and ep circuits, black button modifier operates only on ma and mf circuits.

Warning: This unit was designed for 9V DC input only. Do not use higher voltage power supply.

Crazy Tube Circuits TI:ME MKIII Digital Delay Effects Pedal With Tap Tempo
Cat: 838497 Rel: 01 Nov 21

Delay pedal with separate analogue and digital paths
Notes: Inspired by the first digital delay rack units introduced at the beginning of the "digital audio revolution" in the mid-late 70's. These units had lower bit resolution and bandwidth compared to today's digital delay standards.

TI:ME is not your typical sterile and ultra clean digital delay. With separate analogue and digital paths to get best of both worlds, this retro inspired echo effect will warm up your tone. An all analogue signal path featuring a high quality opamp is used for the best reproduction of your dry signal. Two digital recording devices, along with carefully tuned filtering, placed in parallel with the dry path give you the most ambient delay unit you have ever heard. Think of a Model 113 rack unit; the repeats are really musical, reminiscent of worn tape echoes.

Each TI:ME unit is hand lacquered in copper colour and one of a kind!

Crazy Tube Circuits Unobtanium Raw Dual Overdrive Effects Pedal
Cat: 1024506 Rel: 22 Jul 24

Dual channel amp & overdrive effects pedal
Notes: The ultimate overdrive? Raw version of the Unobtanium pedal adds hand-selected NOS germanium transistors to the circuit. Filthy 60s vibes on tap here. Hard to beat.

Supplier's Notes:
A rare sonic element with alternate refinement - meet the new Unobtanium RAW edition!

The main composition has stayed the same as the standard version of the pedal: A recreation of the K-style overdrive true to the last detail finds its place at the right section of the pedal while the left section features two D-style amplifier voicings, the most unobtainable tube amplifiers in the world.

For the RAW edition, Crazy Tube Circuits have added a couple of magic ingredients to the clipping section of the K side: a set of hand selected New Old Stock Mullard/Valvo labelled OC45 germanium transistors from the 60s.

This is the first K-type circuit to feature germanium transistors!

Many germanium transistor types and found that the OC45 transistors added a supernatural feel with organic compression for increased gain and sustain. Fear not - the standard sounds are still there in the stock setting where you listen to germanium diodes clipping like in the original unit.

The amp-in-a-box side of the RAW version is glassier and punchier than the standard version. Think of singing blues rock and classic rock sounds that cut through the mix, flawlessly performing with all kinds of different guitars/ pickups combinations. Think of having the rock/jazz toggle switch set in the rock setting.

As with the standard version, Unobtanium Raw features a passive effects loop to give you the option to connect your beloved pedals between your booster/overdrive and amp in a box or use the two sections as separate and independent effects when using an external bypass switcher/looper.

Note that all pedals inserted in the passive effects loop are still in the signal chain when any or both sections of are in bypass mode.

Unobtanium Raw features a power-up bypass/engage pre-set function for the footswitches. That way you can select which state your pedal will go to when you plug the power supply. This function comes in especially handy to people that use remote pedal switchers/loopers as they only set the state of the pedal once and then operate from the controller.

Main sonic differences between standard and RAW versions:

K-side:

Standard version: MOD setting = silicon diodes added in combination with the stock germanium diodes in the clipping section for higher output/less compression.

Raw version: OC45 setting = New Old Stock Mullard/Valvo OC45
germanium transistors used instead of stock germanium diodes for
clipping resulting in higher gain and sustain/compression.

D-side:

Standard version: Smoother jazz/blues oriented tones.

Raw version: Glassier blues rock oriented tones.

The RAW version will not replace the standard one, that will continue to thrive. It will be built in limited quantities, and will stay out there for as long as there is stock of the beautiful NOS Mullard/Valvo OC45.

Warning: This unit was designed for 9V DC input only. Do not use a higher voltage power supply

Crazy Tube Circuits White Whale v2 Analogue Spring Reverb Effects Pedal With Tremolo
Cat: 1012695 Rel: 14 May 24

Analogue spring reverb effects pedal with tremolo
Notes: Updated version of the White Whale pedal follows the same formula of 60s-inspired tremolo and spring reverb, with an improved power amp for higher fidelity. The essence of iconic amp effects in a single pedal.

Supplier's Notes:
Inspired by the match-made-in-heaven of vintage effects found on 60s American amps, White Whale V2 sets out a new objective to pack bigger real spring reverb and tremolo sounds in the same pedalboard friendly enclosure (17 x 12,5 x 7,5 cm).

The 3-spring reverb tank assembly housed inside White Whale's enclosure has remained the same, but Crazy Tube Circuits have upgraded the power amp driving the springs for increased headroom and wider frequency response. Following the signal topography of vintage units, Crazy Tube Circuits have also upgraded the dwell control to allow you to dial the right amount of signal that goes into the springs for a mellower or splashier reverb sound. Real spring reverb found in 60s American tube amps and external reverb units featured a tube power amp driving the spring assembly via an output transformer, so analogue circuit has been delicately tuned to emulate the tube and output transformer saturation that was produced on higher dwell settings.

Each of these vintage units had its own reverb effect qualities so Crazy Tube Circuits tried to categorize them according to the most emblematic ones with a toggle switch selecting the size and decay. The user can select between the milder reverb qualities of a short to medium 2-spring reverb tank, the liveliness of a medium to long 2-spring reverb tank as found in most blackface amp designs and the dense reverb qualities of a long 3-spring reverb tank assembly. A reverb's tone control comes after the recovery stage at the output of the reverb tank and affects only the wet sounds for lively and drippy or smooth and mild reverb tones. Use the mix control to blend your desired amount of wet signal on top of the dry guitar signal. Higher reverb mix settings tend to get lost in the mix, so we've made sure you'll be heard loud and clear by incorporating a volume control capable of up to 20db boost.

The tremolo section has also been upgraded to feature harmonic tremolo, besides the opto and tube bias found in the previous incarnation of Crazy Tube Circuits' "marine mammal". This hypnotic and mesmerizing effect originated on certain models of the brown and blonde era amps and does frequency-based modulation by shifting between high and low frequencies compared to the amplitude-based modulation (opto and tube bias) that shifts between volume levels. Crazy Tube Circuits have made sure to include the two most significant variations of harmonic tremolo, as found in the original amps, that differentiate in the range and sweep of pulsating frequencies. The depth control sets the intensity of modulation while the range of the speed control has been extended beyond the span of vintage amps' to make sure we'll maximize your creativity. The volume control will boost the signal, if needed, even in the hardest throb settings.

Another upgrade found in the White Whale V2 is that the two effect sections are now completely independent and you can select the effects order so that the tremolo effect comes before the reverb or vice versa. This gives you the option to make heavenly combinations as optical and tube bias style tremolo usually sound better when placed after (post) the reverb effect while the harmonic tremolo usually sounds better when placed in front (pre) of the reverb effect. The two onboard footswitches are used to engage or bypass each effect section and feature a power-up bypass/engage pre-set function. That way you can select which state your pedal will go to when you plug the power supply. White Whale V2 also features a remote switcher input jack where you can control the bypass state of each effect section remotely via your favourite external effects switcher or via the matching artwork remote control dual footswitch (sold separately). Reverb's mix can also be controlled via an expression pedal and tremolo's speed can be controlled by either an expression pedal or external tap tempo footswitch (expression pedals / tap tempo footswitch are not included).

The surf-friendly light green colour adds to the overall drippy experience of a real spring reverb and tremolo that will fit on your pedalboard. If your amp setup doesn't have these effects by design, you have now found your perfect match.
