(There It Is)", while DJ Kid Stretch re-imagines the legendary "Rapper's Delight" by Sugarhill Gang, laying down some funky as hell strings and killer drum programming. Flip over for the twisted synth carnival that is "Disco Monster" by Niko and the wobbling "Kingston Funk" by Stickybuds, which samples Basement Jaxx's evergreen "Do Your Thing".

Review: For the latest in their series of "giant 45s" - loud 12" pressings of classic cuts from the Studio One vaults - Soul Jazz has decided to offer-up a fresh pressing of Brentford All Stars' 'Greedy G'. Based on James Brown classic 'Get On The Good Foot', the track was famously sampled by Boogie Down Productions on their iconic cut 'Jack of Spades'. It remains a bona fide party classic, adding a bass-heavy, Hammond-heavy reggae spin to Brown's insatiable funk groove. As it did the last time Soul Jazz issued it back in 1988, it comes backed with the deeper and more laidback 'Granny Scratch Scratch', another classic cut from Studio One's in-house backing band.

Review: New kids on the reissue block, New Zealand's Strangelove Music are off to a flying start with this beautiful 1983 art pop record from subversive chanteuse Lena D'Agua. "Jardim Zoologico" fuses electro boogie with Afrofunk with healthy measures of cosmic polish while "Tao" is a straight up Balearic gem that sparkles with sentiment and horizontal soul. Only ever released on Portuguese label Valentim De Carvalho, this reissue is over 30 years overdue.

Review: Much demand has surrounded Daebull's 'Cosmic Fonk' for a vinyl version after their original release saw only to a digital version last year. Now the four-track EP from ultra style-conscious French artist David Said comes to full 12" glory, as tracks like 'Cosmic Fonk' and 'Glitter Fonk' continue to dazzle and floor listeners the world over. The definition of 'fonk' as opposed to 'funk' is ephemeral and difficult to pin down, but from our meticulous listening, we've come to conclude it means production simplicity, ghostly vocals, and an overall bent towards infectiouess.

Review: Conceived for maximum floor-lift, Daje Funk is the namesake of both artist and label; here the elusive but fun-loving moniker brings another four whopper disco edit-remixes to vinyl, further charging the collective body with a haul of kitsch spirituals. Three out of four tracks here are "lovely edited" - intentional or not, we can't resisting stealing such brilliant turns of phrase - by longtime Roman disco purveyor Les Inferno, with the support of a cracking cadre made up of fellow producers and engineers Max Pottini, Emiliano Patrick Legato and Dom Scuteri. Stefano Fusco also handles the B1; and though we don't know the original IDs of any of the tracks here, the vibe is consistently spirited, and the artists only carefully betray their access to the original stems (made eventually obvious by faint vocal delays, extra-thwacking kick EQs, etc.).

Review: Few things are certain in life: death, taxes and Dam Funk always living up to his name. Fans will be well aware of the Preludey, Chicago synth feels of "O.B.E" as it's one of the many crowning moments of his recent album Invite The Light. "Special Friends", however, is exclusive to this vinyl. A woozy, jazzy boogie joint with eight whole minutes to wriggle and writhe in variations, full focus is on the juiciest, wettest slap bass you'll hear all week.

Serving up the breezy, neon-lit west coast vibe of 'Destination: Known' on the A side, while on the flip we have got some emotive late night boogie-down funk on 'Paradise'. Review: Summer is Dam-Funk season. The synth funk pioneer's sounds never seem more fitting than when cruising about on an early summer evening, top down (at least in your mind) with the sky turning burnt orange. He soundtracks that moment four more times here with 'Rise' being a more downbeat and pensive vibe, then 'Make It' getting a little more playful on the bump-n-grid beats and squelchy boogie bass. 'From A G Perspective' has low-riding Cali-funk in its bones and 'Free' closes with more lush analogue textures and shimmering chords on this vital, limited 12".
