Review: For more than a quarter of a century, Fuse has thrived on timeless music and pioneering artists, both local and international, all of which have helped make it Belgium's longest-running dancefloor. Review: We're told that inspiration for this bumper new double album of super fresh techno from the young New Palm label came in 2023 when the artists met up on the LA River armed with "a couple of generators, a Klipsch system, turntables, and a modular rig, for a day into night of music centred around various forms of dub." The results are superb, with Charles Edward opening up with the sparse, laid-back dub of 'Bogus August', Lena Deen keeping it deft with the ambient soundscapes of 'Either Ore' and Berndt's 'Solstice' exploring widescreen minimalism dub, with plenty more to love in between.

Review: Time Passages celebrates their ten years of existence with a stellar line up of artists; this is the full LP to complement a shorter EP. A fine lineup indeed! The mood on this one is decidedly hellish yet, of course, for that very reason, tempting to cop; this being the characteristic of the flagrant provenance of DJ and producer Binh, whose brand of sinister minimal techno and electro always turns up scorched, hardened into granite, by the embered airs of hardcore. The Berlin outfit welcome The Model and DJ Hell on the A1 side, with the first opening up his own private bacchanal into the hungry streets with 'Eat More House' - a motto we can really chew on - while Hell's 'Alienation' plays on similar themes, with a central acid riff and sniper clap pattern. Barnt and Bezier steer and slow the B-side to a canter, the latter especially on the low-slung, ominously new beat-inspired 'Roter Faden', while the likes of Z@p and DC Salas go on to encrust the ensuing sides with a haunted clog of synthpop and new wave judder-offs. We'll leave the rest to you.

Review: Celebrating two decades of excellence, Marc Romboy's Systematic Recordings marks its 20th anniversary with a remarkable triple 12" vinyl release. Charting the label's nascence in 2005, from early Romboy, Andre Winter and Stephan Bodzin cuts, and through to a rare Carl Cox original, this is an easily legitimated techno release, its mood of retro cool ushered along by shiftingly raw, respiratory sound design and a virtual verve. Review: "Decay and loneliness can serve a purpose. Depression can teach you things. To feel deep sadness also means the ability to feel profound emotions," says Stefan Vincent. The Dutch artist has a point, and based on the appropriately titled Post Melancholy, certainly knows how to make it with strange, beguiling, slightly manic but overwhelmingly captivating music. Drawing on some of the cornerstones of rave culture - breaks, electro, IDM - the record is a true journey through an emotional spectrum, often conjuring the reflective 6AM moods that we can't quite put our finger on, but associate with those warehouse moments, but then filtering this out into something more joyful, or at least lighter. Overall, it plays out like the very reason you fell in love with electronic music in the first place.
