- 'HALI-B Kit': An old Gretsch kit with old thin Zildjian cymbals. The drumheads are also old and worn, perfect for that cool, dirty sound. Sizes: Bassdrum: 22"x14", Snaredrum: 14"x5", Toms: 10"x8" & 12"x8", and Flor-tom: 16"x14".

- 'Beefy Ballad Kit': A Yamaha Custom Drums Birch kit recorded in a small booth through a 'SSL 9000' console. Quite compressed and tuned down for that beefy sound. Sizes: Bassdrum: 22"x16", Ludwig Acrolite Snare: 14"x5" , 12"x8"; 14"x12" and 16"x14" toms. Zildjian K Custom 22" Ride Zildjian A 17" crash, K Custom 17" crash and Zildjian 18" A Custom crash. 15" Zildjian Heavy Marching Cymbals Hi-hats. Remo coated Ambassadors drumheads on all drums.

- 'Big Ambient Kit: Like the Beefy Ballad Kid except for the Bassdrum was recorded short after in the studio's big room and featured a 24" Premier Genista Bassdrum.

- 'The Retro Ambient Kit': An old Ludwig one with 26" Bassdrum, 14",16" and 18" toms. Snaredrum was 14"x6.5". Transparent Ambassador heads on toms and bassdrum. Recorded in an empty public theatre. The idea was to get a big old sound, so they used a huge PA-system which the drums was fed rather loud into. The sound of the Ambient 1 and 2 mics are mostly from PA-system. 'Ambient 1' was placed ca. 6 metres away from the kit and 'Ambient 2' ca. 15 metres - at the back of the room. The physical distance between the kit an the Ambient -mics was long, too long. So the delay caused by the long distance were compensated for in editing. All samples went through a serious treat of compression to get the most out of them.

- 'Power Drum Kit': This kit was recorded in the newly restored attic at Gjøkeredet Studio. The goal was to make samples that could be used in rock/pop rock that had attitude. So the drums were recorded with the best preamps, mics and outboards that they could come up with. The drums were also played quite hard which is important for rockier music. They recorded Custom toms with brand new, shiny REMO Pinstripe heads. This combination is legendary and has been used on thousands of records from the early eighties up until today.

As well as these 5 multisampled kits they've also included a huge amount of grooves to get you started. Just match the MIDI file with the correct sampler instrument and you can perfectly sync our loops with your track.

Notes: Full Cycle presents 'Drum & Bass Collective'

The Full Cycle camp is almost directly synonymous with Drum 'n' Bass's 'Bristol sound', with both primarily associated with Roni Size, DJ Die, DJ Suv and DJ Krust. In the late 1990s, Full Cycle was at the peak of its creative powers, the Reprazent project had brought Drum & Bass to the attention of the masses and Full Cycle was the crew's spiritual, underground home. Here for the first time producers can get their hands on the Full Cycle sounds and samples which helped make them the biggest force in Drum and Bass, with this heavyweight collection of sonic stimuli created especially for Loopmasters by the Full Cycle team themselves.

The breaks were recorded live at Full Cycle / Channel House studios in Bristol and everything was recorded using high end vintage outboard equipment and then processed digitally. 'Beat Box Anthology' is the one-stop shopping collection for drum machine sounds and loops, covering almost every generation of these instruments. Even if these cult machines were a milestone in 70s, 80s and 90s music production, their sounds are still used today in a lot of urban, hip-hop, electro house and even electro pop productions. The first 'affordable' drum machines were manufactured in the 60s, and were designed to imitate the sounds of drums and percussions. Analog synthesis was the first technology used to generate the drum sounds and most models left no opportunity to the user to alter or modify the pre-programmed rhythms. Then in the 80s the first models using low resolution digital samples were launched, and were quickly used in the most successful tunes in the music industry. In the 90s the sound quality turned better, but losing in the meantime the character that had made older models so remarkable. That's where and why our investigation stopped. 'Beat Box Anthology' is divided in three sections: Classics, Analog & Digital. In the Classics category you will find the cult machines that are still used a lot today, like the '808' or the '909'. Sampling and recording was particularly complete, covering every parameter and setting you can find on these machines. To capture the essence of these pieces of history, we recorded everything in 24bit 96kHz, using the best DI Box and analog to digital converters. Another unique approach to this kind of collection, is the mastering step that once more makes it unique. Sounds were mastered at Sterling Sound with Chris Gerhinger, for this punchy sound you won’t find anywhere else. With a total of around 10'000 samples and loops from 80 different machines, 'Beat Box Anthology' also contains hundreds of native kits and patterns for the new MOTU BPM, therefore acting as its best companion.
