Timeless digital roots and dub from The Disciples here featuring the late Jamaican singer Creation Stepper, who i most famously well known for his iconic 70s roots reggae classics. This release includes a fresh take on Stepper's 1978 track, 'Kill Nebuchadnezzar' and it is paired with another vocal gem, 'Ozone Layer,' plus two powerful dub versions. Originally mixed and produced by Russ D in The Disciples' studio in 1991, this music finally saw the light of day in 2011 on the Disciples Vintage label where it quickly sold out. Now back on a great sounding 12", this is a must for roots and dub heads.

Dreadzone presents Nine, an album/reflection on the past five years of their productive output, in which the classic "Dread sound" has grown and mutated. The unshakeable core of Greg Roberts, Leo Williams, Tim Bran, Ben Balafonic, Steve Roberts and Spee first came together in 1993, for debutant EPs such as 'The Warning' and 'Fight The Power', the latter of which was an instrumental of the anarchic fervour felt at the time in the UK. Now Dreadzone present a brand new crock of dub, ragga and breakbeat highlights, treading new turf, yet still connecting with the ambiance and tenor of their early sound.

Youthman Skanking, a classic roots reggae album from 1982, produced by Prince Jammy at Channel One and King Tubby's, gets a reissue on vinyl for 2024. This album includes the hit singles 'Isim,' 'Skism,' and 'Ain't No Me Without You,' alongside the authentic title track. This albym stands as a sterling addition to the Roots-based 'Waterhouse Sound,' a movement spearheaded by Black Uhuru. This album marks the beginning of Smith and Jammy's influential journey, which would later revolutionise music with their genre-defying hit 'Under Me Sleng Teng.'This rare album, finally reissued with a beautiful German pressing, showcases Smith's early style, reminiscent of Linval Thompson. Youthman Skanking offers excellent rhythms and is a true treat for reggae enthusiasts.

Overlooked on its debut, the album has since become a coveted gem among collectors and reggae enthusiasts, thanks to its heartfelt lyricism and lush arrangements. Now receiving its first official reissue on vinyl, this lover's rock masterpiece finally gets the care and recognition it deserves. Anchored by tracks like the soulful 'Let Love Flow On', immortalised on Jeremy Underground's Beauty compilation, and the dreamy 'Fantasy', Spence's voice exudes warmth and sentimentality. The ten tracks radiate tropical charm, blending soothing rhythms with romantic optimism, making the album a perfect soundtrack for sunlit afternoons. Spence's untimely passing at 54 imbues her work with added poignancy, as her lyrics carry a quiet resilience and hope. An excellent blend of soulful crossover appeal and roots reggae music.
