Review: Southern California-based composer and improviser David Rosenboom is a figure who can't quite be aligned to one particular school, his work slipping intriguingly through the cracks. A collaboration with vocalist Jacqueline Humbert, Daytime Viewing is an extraordinary narrative poem set over a song cycle consisting of six pieces. Quietly released privately in 1983, Unseen Worlds has brought this seminal work back into view along with a full remastering. Exploring ideas of absurdist theatricality, TV soap operas, commercialism, and family, Humbert's voice and Rosenboom's production merge to create a landscape that is at once lush yet also dystopian. An entirely unique release that invites endless study.

Review: Xpq? founders D Tiffany and Special Guest DJ are keeping quiet about the identity of the "married outlaws" behind the previously unheard Low Budget Aliens project. This debut album arrives with little or no fanfare or fuss, or even the usual functional info sheet supplied to record stores and media outlets. So what's in store? In summary: peculiar, off-kilter excellence. Jumpy, skittish and imaginative, the majority of the eight tracks twist warped, mind-altering electronics and strange sounds around weighty basslines and unearthly rhythms that variously doff a cap to juke, jungle, grime, IDM and what would once have been called "brain-dance". It's an exciting and sometimes unsettling template, but one that consistently delivers on its eccentric, experimental promise.

Review: Joey Kendrick is perhaps better known for the braindance gear he's put out under his own name for Rephlex and the like, but he's also played around with plenty of aliases over the years too. His work as +10 actually predates his breakthrough years on Rephlex, having been released on the classy Canadian label Napalm Enema. Grace came out in 2007 and it sounds a little rowdier than later Kendrick works, but that's also part of its charm. Hence stalwart Belgian braindance believers WeMe have opted to reissue the CDr-only album as a double vinyl for your twitch, glitchy, acidic pleasure. It's a feast for the cerebellum, no doubt about it.
