The Boogie Cafe label is in the form of its life right now, as this mighty missive from Turbojazz defiantly proves. The Milan-based producer is famed for darting between jazzy broken beat and smooth, soul-flecked house; naturally, both bases are covered here. Top of the tree is "In Search", a punchy and loose-limbed broken beat roller that layers spacey jazz-funk synths and opulent Rhodes riffs atop raw analogue bass and infectious beats. "Voices" offers a jazzier take on broken beat, while "Yellow Wave" is a classic-sounding deep house cut rich in tasty organ stabs, acid bass and starry-eyed electronics. To top it all off, Javonntte has provided a brilliant a bumpin', bass-heavy house rework of "In Search" that's worth the entrance price on its own.
