Hanover turntablist-turned-producer Mr Confuse has been serving up heavyweight slabs of funk-fuelled dancefloor goodness for the best part of two decades. He's delivered some particularly heated workouts of late, and this double A-side affair is another weighty, party-hearty must-have. Lead cut "Spinning Around" is especially potent, with the German producer layering clipped guitars, heavy Hammond organ stabs, punchy horns and weighty bass guitar atop a floor-shaking breakbeat. "Against All Odds" meanwhile is a more gnarled and - whisper it quietly - riotous slab of funk breaks peppered with buzzing alto sax lines and funk-rock guitar licks. It also boasts a killer bass breakdown, which is no bad thing.
