With a collective production heritage that includes releases for Delsin, Bosconi, Further and Kontra Musik, the Italian pairing of Mass Prod and Herva further enhance the view that house and techno is being well served by the music of their country. Joining forces for a 12" on Kontra's White Label series, Mass Prod and Herva essentially break Frak's 100% appearance record and do so in fine fashion with Technology Fail As A Birth Control For Unnecessary Recordings, a four track EP that pairs interesting titles with equally interesting sounds. Distorted funk and lo-fi production values are nothing new in current house music, but these tracks have their own charm, one minute happily engaging the dancefloor and another sounding like the remains of "Any Other Styles" by Theo after 30 minutes in a blender.
