Obscure gothic/industrial proto-house from Chicago unearthed here by Mixed Signals Music: a new import label from Toronto's Seance Centre & Smiling C. LITIA=LOE (Life In The Insane Asylum = Life On Earth) was comprised of Leon Williams and Daryl Wilson, with brothers Grant and Simeon Rogers who were influenced by Nitzer Ebb, Bauhaus and Chris & Cosey and others of the same movement at the time. The track in focus on this single is moody and sensual "Each Dawn Every Dawn", a delightful serving of disco-noir that reminds us of Windy City icon Jamie Principle's output around the same time. A second version on the B side (The Day After) leaves more room in the mix for Williams' rather captivating head voice.
