Kutiman is the definition of multi-faceted. The Israeli creative tour de force is a producer, multi-instrumentalist, composer, filmmaker, orchestra leader, and activist. Over the years, his CV has filled up with everything from collaborations with Greenpeace ('Antarctica') to online projects like the critically acclaimed 'Thru You', proving he's nothing if not restlessly inventive. Clearly still not satisfied, at some point along the way he decided to pursue his childhood ambition of mastering the tabla, far from the easiest instrument to learn. Under the tutelage of Pandit Tanmoy Bose, one of the greatest players in India, he learnt for 12 hours a day over two months. The results can be heard on Guruji, a two-track EP aimed squarely at leftfield dancefloors that's set to a halftime tabla rhythm, and is easily among the most unexpectedly infectious weapons forward thinking DJs can find right now.
