Love Canticles CD

Karsten Pflum is one of those producers and performers who consistently delivers, yet rarely gets the credit his atmospheric and inventive electronica probably deserves. Love Canticles, his first studio set since 2015, is another sparkling gem. There appears to be no overarching concept, just attractive, melodious and occasionally experimental music that impressively mixes and mangles a myriad of styles. So, while you'll heard nods to veteran IDM explorers such as Aphex Twin and Autechre, not to mention audible references to wonky synth-pop, glistening ambient, Rehplex style "Braindance" and warts-and-all electro, all of the tracks are deliciously unique. If you've yet to dip into the Danish producer's discography, then this is the perfect place to start.
