Got 2 Luv EP vinyl

Having recently popped up on Apron with a varied collection of crackly, floor-friendly cuts, Bastien Carrara returns to regular home Rawthenticity. Predictably, the Got 2 Luv EP features many more hits than misses. The Paris-based producer begins with the dusty, distorted bump of "Throwdown", where steel drum-laden disco loops rub shoulders with crunchy, redlined drums, before exploring the potential of Detroit Beatdown/hip-hop fusion on the loved-up "I'vgot2luv". Flip for the thumping, drum machine handclap-driven machine funk of "Smokin' Out", and the deliciously saucer-eyed "XVIII", a blissful '80s slow jam full of chiming melody lines and tactile synthesizer motifs.
