BigSky MX features seven brand-new algorithms in addition to significant enhancements to the other classics. Dual reverbs can be routed in Series, Parallel or Split modes, and individually panned per engine. Access full IR editing functionality, as well as custom long captures of classic studio gear. Unlock massive width and presence with full stereo I/O featuring Strymon's discrete Class A JFET input preamps. Create lush pads to play over, or infinitely sustain any notes played for unique atmospheric effects. Change presets and control parameters with MIDI via USB-C, TRS, or DIN connections. Adjust controls on the fly via an expression pedal. All this and more in an elegant, easy-to-use pedal.

BigSky MX features a staggering amount of computing power - it uses a high performance tri-core 800 MHz ARM processor - all dedicated to producing truly breathtaking reverbs. Strymon's new reverb algorithms were meticulously created by hand, and then a state-of-the-art gradient descent optimization algorithm was used to dial out any undesirable ringing or artifacts. This type of neural fine-tuning is based upon the same techniques that have enabled the recent AI revolution, and the result is springs that drip and splash, physical spaces you can really feel yourself in, and the sweetest possible musical response to every note you play.

BigSky MX allows you to use two reverbs at once, for powerful sound sculpting and expansive reverb sounds that evolve organically over time. You can switch between reverb engines with a single button press while editing, and easily see the Series, Parallel or Split audio routing state clearly displayed onscreen.

For a more interactive experience, you can dedicate a footswitch to control each reverb's on/off state if you desire.

BigSky MX features seven brand new reverb algorithms built from the ground up, plus new features and enhancements for the classic BigSky algorithms. Impulse and Chamber were created specifically for BigSky MX, and Spring, Plate, Hall, Room and Shimmer boast entirely new handcrafted algorithms while still giving you access to the original BigSky voices for each one.

BigSky MX gives you powerful editing tools to intuitively manipulate impulse responses in real time. Set decay envelopes, gate the reverb tail, reverse the entire IR, resample on the fly to shorten or stretch the impulse, and create infinitely sustaining granular pads at the press of the Infinite footswitch. Any compatible audio file can be loaded, allowing you to use convolution reverbs for everything from hyper-realistic spaces to wacky experimentation.

BigSky MX comes preloaded with 22 unique stereo impulse responses, including a collection of our very own meticulous captures of legendary analog studio gear that are addictively inspiring.

Notes: Packed with powerful features while maintaining intuitive playability, Strymon's Magneto module is a stereo multi-head tape delay that also functions as a looper, phrase sampler, vintage spring reverb unit, phase-aligned clock multiplier, chaotic oscillator, zero latency sub-oscillator and more, with extensive CV I/O.

Every function, control, gain stage, and signal path component in Magneto works together to respond musically and smoothly, even during the wildest live modular improvisations. All this is combined with a luxurious spring reverb to take the sound of your modular setup to a new level, and your sonic explorations into far-out territories.

Not only does Magneto deliver the warm, luscious delay signals that tape delays are known for, it is also capable of a high degree of saturation. Turn up the Record Level knob to send a hot signal to the record head for any amount of tape saturation you desire. Turn up the Tape Age control for warmer repeats. Add some truly beautiful Spring Reverb. Magneto adds organic heart and soul to the sound of your modular.

The effect of the Low Cut and Tape Age knobs are explored, followed by the mechanical 'deterioration' of the machine with the Crinkle and Wow and Flutter controls. The Speed knob is put to use for sonic enhancement.

In a typical digital effect the dry signal gets converted to digital, causing conversion noise and latency. Signals are often attenuated before combining digital dry and wet, with makeup gain amplifying the conversion noise. To avoid this scenario, Strymon have equipped Magneto with a completely analog dry path. Why go to all this trouble? Because the improvements in dynamic range and reduction in noise are so dramatic.

Strymon have outfitted Magneto with the powerful Analog Devices SHARC ADSP-21369 processor, which provides a 366 MHz core instruction rate, and an incredible 2.4 Gigaflops of peak performance. Thanks to this high-powered technology platform within Magneto, we had the freedom to craft our processor-intense tape echo algorithms without compromise.

While experimenting with short delay times using feedback and filtering, Strymon began finding very musical and expressive Karplus-Strong string synthesis sounds, and realized that StarLab could move beyond signal processing and become a truly unique voice module as well. All this ultimately resulted in the creation of a module that is equal parts reverb, delay/ modulation, and playable instrument.
