The A1 introduces the completely new Automat Line. Pro-Ject have always had one purpose since establishment in 1991: bring HiFi Stereo music enjoyment to as many people as possible. The Pro-Ject product catalogue has been expanded with a fully automatic entry-level turntable and create new opportunities for future vinyl beginners and enthusiasts. The A1 is handmade in Germany by a traditional manufacture with a wealth of experience in making automatic turntables. Even the individual components are 98% made and produced in Germany. Paired with Pro-Ject technology and ideas, new standards in automatic turntable design. The new A1 is your best companion to comfortably enjoy your favourite vinyls.

The A1 has a fully automatic start/stop with the automatics being completely disengaged and decoupled during the entire runtime of the record. The fully mechanical automatics are engaged when you press start and the tonearm is automatically moved to the lead in groove of the record. Once playing, the automatics are completely taken out of the equation and do not affect the playback quality.

ULM Aluminium Tonearm
The A1 features an 8.3" ultra-light-mass aluminium tonearm. Together with the Ortofon OM10, which fits this design principle perfectly, we get extraordinary fast response and detail in terms of transients and microdynamics. Tracking force and anti-skating are factory pre-adjusted which make the A1 plug & play ready within a few seconds. This makes it perfect for vinyl beginners and experienced listeners alike as the sound quality is carried by all the audiophile features the A1 has on offer.

A little-known fact is that the OM series of cartridges have their developmental roots and legacy in ultra-light-mass tonearm designs. Pre-fitted and adjusted in the Pro-Ject factory, it is the perfect partner for your A1.

Carbon fibre reinforced
The headshell is made of carbon fibre reinforced polymer which is super stable and rigid, while keeping the weight super low. The composite material results in excellent internal damping of resonances.

Wood Chassis
Heavy and avoids hollow spaces
The chassis avoids hollow spaces wherever possible, with just enough space to precision fit all the inner workings of the A1. As a result, the chassis' heavy mass reduces unwanted resonances to a minimum.

Damped Platter
Precision balanced aluminium
The damping ring on the inside adds weight and reduces resonances. In the last step the platter is turned and precision balanced to receive its fine edges and lowest wow and flutter deviations.

To guarantee a perfect connection to your amp, this turntable uses a high-quality phono RCA cable. The Connect it E is a semi-balanced, low-capacitance cable, with superior shielding.

The sound performance of a vinyl playback system can be significantly improved when all unwanted resonances between the record and the platter can be reduced during playback. Enter record clamps and pucks; simple devices which are designed solely to ensure the record and platter surfaces are held together tightly.

Standard record pucks, that use only weight to achieve this aim, can have 2 disadvantages:

- The weight can induce higher levels of rumble, when used with lower cost turntables which have smaller main bearings
- Instead of tightening the records surface to the platter, heavy weight record pucks can cause the opposite to happen and potentially warp the vinyl record into a slight 'bowl' shape

Pro-Ject's Clamp-IT is one of the most competent solutions available. It is a stylish accessory with a clamp mechanism around the centre spindle, that will not add weight but will press the record against the platter. The Clamp-IT also allows you to fine-adjust the pressure depending on the condition of your warped records.

Fitting of Pro-Ject's Clamp-IT is easily done, and once it's in place it won't only please your ears; because its beautifully machined diamond-cut edges will also stand out on any turntable!

Notes: The Connect-IT E features a "dual twisted pair" technology with a 100% foil shield for rejection of EM and RF interference - the types that cause hum and buzz in your system. Notes: Sound tuning through platter mat replacement! The interaction between the record and the surface can be tracked very easily by the sensitivity of a good pick up cartridge.

Common felt mats give a smooth contact between record and platter but have the disadvantage of static. This means that felt mats often collect a lot of dust which can be then transferred to the record. Also, the damping ability is very limited which can be a problem with metal platters. Thick rubber mats overdamp the record and have an isolation effect which leaves static on the record - hearable noise clicks are the result.

Leather and Cork are 2 different but very interesting options to upgrade the sound quality. Resonances are damped more effectively than felt, they keep dust away and also avoid static.

Which is better largely depends on taste and the actual platter design. These mats are a very cost effective way to improve the sound and have less noise by static and dust. You can hear a difference!

Today, many amplifiers do not have a specific phono cartridge input. Phono Box E is an ideal phono preamplifier for these hifi systems.

Phono Box E accepts MM cartridges and offers an audiophile music experience at an entry-level price. Advanced circuitry and SMD construction keep noise and distortion at a surprisingly low level.

A built-in internal shielding and an outboard DC power supply leave no risk for external interference. Because of its small casing, Phono Box E can be placed near the turntable. Input and output sockets are gold-plated for preservation of quality.

Phono Box E can be connected easily to a line-input (AUX etc) of your amplifier.

Notes: In recognition of Pro-Ject's 30th anniversary, Pro-Ject wanted to go back to their roots bringing a new design to their turntables. Not only was a new turntable made, but also a completely new cartridge. Pro-Ject teamed up with Ortofon to develop a unique range of cartridges. Vinyl Care
The VC-E is a compact, affordable vinyl record cleaning machine (RCM). Inspired by the developments made in the Pro-Ject VC-S2 ALU design, VC-E offers a string of premium features in a smaller package that's suited to smaller record collections and tighter space.
Boasting a striking aluminium surface that's not only visually appealing but is able to withstand excessive fluid spill without compromising the chassis, the VC-E still houses a sufficiently powerful vacuum motor to clean records, residue free, in as little as one or two rotations. The very best results are achieved with one rotation forward, followed by one backwards. The drive motor also makes one rotation within 2 seconds, which is about three times faster than comparable products. The end-result is a faster and more effective cleaning process for the cost.
A screw-on clamp, lined with a rubber pad, protects the record label from cleaning fluid and avoids damage to the label. The robust metal arm is easy to use, mechanically stable and focuses all suction power directly onto the record surface.
The VC-E is supplied with Pro-Ject's own eco-friendly, non-alcoholic vinyl cleaning concentrate, Wash-IT. The new VC-S3 is Pro-Ject's new premium record cleaning machine with completely new superior features. Vinyl records need a specific maintenance. The dry brush cleaning before playing the record is good to roughly remove dust. To effectively clean the grooves you need to wet clean the record. To achieve the perfect cleaning we also need a suitable cleaning fluid. Alcoholic cleaning fluids can destroy musical micro information of the grooves. That's the reason why Pro-Ject's designed our new eco-friendly non-alcoholic cleaning fluid called "Wash it 2". The new Wash it 2 is a pre-mixed liquid, so you don't have to dilute the concentrate yourself anymore. This avoids acidentally using unsuitable tap water for mixing. With Wash it 2 you can optimize the cleaning performance again. The VC-S3 is very powerful and cleans records completely in one to two revolutions.

The new magnetic clamp not only seals the record label from cleaning fluid to avoid damage on the label, it also speeds up the whole cleaning process. Place your record on the machine, put on the clamp and you are ready to go - no more tedious screwing of the clamp anymore. The robust easy to use metal arm is mechanically stable and focuses all suction power directly onto the record surface. Paired with new self-adhesive arm strip your records get cleaned perfectly. The large internal container (2,5 litres) collects used fluid and is effortlessly easy to empty. When using the Wash it 2 cleaning solution, the fluid will also evaporate in the container, meaning the container will almost never need to be emptied even after cleaning thousands of records.
