Review: The debut album from Colorado-born reality star Montag is all platinum veneers and synthetic sheen, a maximalist pop artefact caught between MySpace optimism and TMZ rot. Released at the height of The Hills fame and bankrolled by her then-husband Spencer Pratt, it's part vanity project, part accidental time capsule. On 'Look How I'm Doin'', 'More Is More' and 'Fanatic', Montag delivers bubblegum arrogance with the conviction of someone willing a fantasy into reality. 'Turn Ya Head' and 'I'll Do It' pile on the synths and innuendo, the latter later re-emerging as a viral gay club staple. Elsewhere, the album slips into darker, messier territory i 'Twisted' and 'One More Drink' flirt with breakdowns masked as bangers, while 'Blackout' and 'Trash Me' lean into robotic balladry with an eerie hollowness. The album has since taken on cult status, championed by internet archivists and irony-poisoned pop heads alike. What once read as delusion now feels like DIY pop spectacle, filtered through the prism of wealth, body modification, and early influencer logic. Montag might not have had the vocal chops, but she had vision i and this strange, over-glossed, 12-track fever dream is all the more fascinating for it.
