Review: Since forming in 2004, Vigo City-based outfit Transilvanians have become one of Spain's most storied and successful reggae outfits. Their trademark style draws on a number of sub-genres and styles - think roots, dub, rocksteady, ska and Jamaican rhythm & blues - resulting in albums with enough subtle variety to stand up to repeat listens. Predictably they've hit the mark once more on Soulful Space, their fourth full-length excursion. They begin with the Turkish psyche-dub brilliance of 'Curse of the Pharoah', before giddily bouncing between Spanish language reggae-soul ('Como Fue'), punchy revivalist blue beat ('Blue Beat Train'), rocksteady ('The Power of Rocksteady') and leap-along ska business (the unpronounceable 'Skancarajazz (Song For Gonzalo)'.
