Review: The Fruit Medley series has been hella juicy so far so we're glad another edition is ripe and ready for picking to kick off the label's 2025 season. This one features all newcomers starting with Cromie's 'Timereite', a chubby and clubby tech pumper with full throttle rhythms. Wilba's 'New Recipes' has lush synth smears over grinding low ends that echo early West Coast tech, and Darren Roach then gets a little deeper on the percolating 'Brettski Colectski'. Lazer Man's 'Time Of Ghosts' closes down with a mid-tempo, off-kilter house cut with steely drums and distant alien activity.

Review: Earlier this year, the mysterious D&P - possibly code for Fraise Records regular Duowe and Pinder, but don't quote us on that - delivered their first Party Tools 10", which boasted a pair of sneaky, peak-time flavoured club cuts with liberal use of sampling. This expansive follow-up provides four more straight-to-the-point workouts. Our shadowy heroes begin with 'Tea Party', a retro-futurist jack-track marked out by punchy house drums and a classic-sounding, late '80s Chicago bassline, before opting for a dirtier bassline on the tech-tinged, hip-house influenced heaviness of 'Ciao'. 'Morning Whistle' is a more rolling affair that joins the dots between vintage Prescription releases and wonky, tech-tinged breakbeat house, while 'Cookie' is a deliciously dreamy, sunrise-ready treat.

Review: D&P are back with a third volume of their Party Tools series on the Fraise label and once again it is packed with irresistible dancefloor bait. 'Heebie Jeebies' has got it all - hooky vocal slurs, a fresh bassline and popping drum funk to get the crowd going. 'Alright?' then keeps the vibes popping with lush hits and silky bass making for a nice spaced out house sound imbued with cheeky samples, and 'Jetstylin' gets a little more late night but no less charming with its melodic bass and playful sense of cosmic freakiness. 'Squeaky Clean' shuts down with future tech house grooves that come doused in neon colour.

Review: The fresh and fruity Fraise label returns with more futuristic tech and minimal fusions here courtesy of Duowe. His EP The Fruitier The Better opens with a nice vibrant sound composed of smeared synths, fractured vocal loops, sultry female spoken words and pumping basslines that bring some fun to the 'floor. 'Heavenly Sedated' is another mix of tech, house, acid and minimal with a 90s vibe and lots of bright colours while 'Yo Yo Leven' gets more percussive and detailed with jungle sound effects and wet synths. 'Ode To Syd' is the trippy closer that rounds out a characterful EP.

Review: Duowe's latest offering, 'Coldharbour Sidewinder', delivers four cuts of tightly stripped drum grooves, hypnotic basslines and crowd-controlling vocals designed for peak-time club and festival moments. Paying homage to the techy electro scene of the past while carving a fresh path forward, this release blends moody ambience with electro-tinged melodies that grip the imagination. Each track is crafted to send crowds into a trance, capturing the energy and intensity that Duowe is known for. It's a journey that nods to the roots of electro while keeping eyes firmly on the future.

Review: Themed after an 'analogue droid-themed realm', 'Lost In Translation' is the new four-tracker from Duowe and Picasso (not that Picasso, he's dead). Probably some of the funniest tech house we've heard in a while, we didn't know the genre could be so rib-tickling. 'Swingers McGee' blends vocal samples from the videogame Portal with stabby chords and bass licks, while 'The Prophecy' sounds like something between Kraftwerk's 'The Robots' and a Mr Oizo pulser. 'Paranoid Android' sounds ironically like a rather jubilant and peaceful android, but we're not too skeptical; this closing track is a great roundoff to an overall rather gregarious short player.
