Review: There is plenty of experimental work at play int his new various artists' collection on Flash. Cloned Existence sets that tone with the brief synth exploration that is 'Wave 1' when Gael & Jolly take off with the much more punchy and thudding techno of 'Paradigm Shock' which is weird up with all sorts of synth designs, effects and layers of reverb. Under Black Helmet ups the ante further with one of those bulky techno grooves that locks you in the moment and Stigmata then brings big room 90s vibes with layers of tangled synth melting the mind. Florian Meindl brings things to a close with gritty, scraping bass, reverb-heavy kicks and pure warehouse techno heaviness.

Review: The "Night Express EP" is the first EP on Flash Recordings that doesn't feature label owners Florian Meindl and Oliver Koletzki. But they have made sure to look for a quality replacement. Cologne based artist Daso teams up with his buddy Pawas to create their first release on Flash. On the a-side Daso & Pawas foreshadow the summer with the track "TGV", a beautifully deep melody that swings along a powerful loop. "ICE", the name of Germany's high-speed train, is clearly more electro-driven. A slightly broken beat with a thumping organic bassline pumps above an ever-changing soundscape that culminates in some euphoric high-pitched synths. Never too much, this is a perfect example for elegant understatement. Also on the flip side is the track "Bummelzug", which translates as "very slow train" in German. This is a dub-techno masterpiece.

Review: This is Florian Meindl at his best. From his London exile the Austrian simply doesn't stop producing catchy electro anthems, reflecting his tough breed of minimal, electro and straight techno. For his latest release on Flash Recordings, his own imprint that he runs together with Oliver Koletzki, Florian presents his way of doing things. "My Way" is carried by a strong, mysteriously melodic sample filled with tons of reverb. The track really explodes when his strong and fidgety loops meet a high-pitched whistle sound. Listen for yourself, this is a thumping minimal electro monster! On the flip "Live Your Dream" is a lot dreamier, hence the name. A softly rolling sample says hello to an effect-laden sub bass that is sure to make the dancefloor vibrate. Topped with yet more great artwork on the cover, this is another golden release on Flash Recordings.

Review: Florian Meindl keeps it real on a new one for Flash that strikes right at the heart of a strobe-lit dance floor. First up is 'Side Control' which hurries along with clipped drum funk and urgent synth loops that get the heat racing and the feet marching. 'We Grow At Night' gets more frenzies with a wall of squiggling acid and demonic vocals all washing over you to psychotic effect and 'Chaos' keeps up that synapse firing sense of arrest with pixelated synths spraying about the mix. 'Kimura' allows a moment to catch your breath and sink int a drawn out and dubby techno trip before 'False Worlds' closes with more mindfuckery and smart synth craft.
